Where to pirate all of big finish?
>>
>>79940524
KAT had a really good collection, not sure if you can still find it.
Also, Audiobook bay is the best place to find new releases.
>>
>>79940524
Most of them are easy to find torrents for, even on the big public torrent sites like extra.

Are you talking about the one that had monthly 1-154, plus all the subscriber specials and spinoff lines up to that point?

That torrent is still easy to find, and there's still always at least a few seeds going, but it hasn't been all of Big Finish for 6 years now.

But if the original anon wants, I can dig up the magnet link for it.

If that's the one I'm thinking, it's a little more updated than the other one, but it still ends in 2013 or so, and it doesn't have any of the spinoff stuff.

Not nearly as sad as the fact that her second most-known part is either Perfection from the BF Divergent Arc or Captain Matheson from various UNIT-era Companion Chronicles…
>>
>>79941080
>Listened to Something of the Scourge today, buds. It was pretty good
The first BF where McCoy and Aldred act instead of just shouting as loudly as possible.

I suspect the whole reason they did a VNA "sidestep" was so Gary Russell could actually get them to listen to his directing. "OK, Sophie, that's great, but it's the same way you play Ace as a teenager. She's older here, just got back from the space marines in the Dalek Wars, so maybe try something different."

The first BF with McCoy and Aldred full stop, isn't it?

I liked Benny, she works well. That's the first time I've heard her. My personal highlights of the audio was Ace deafening herself and Benny seeing and fancying 8

No, there's at least two more before it, plus at least one Seven+Mel one where McCoy is also doing the "talking really loud = acting" thing.

>I liked Benny, she works well.
Yeah, she could have carried the whole story if she'd had to.

Shame we only ever got 1 more original Seven+Benny story.
>>
>>79942071
>Shame we only ever got 1 more original Seven+Benny story.
I mean until the audio BNAs with Seven, of course, because those don't feel like the VNA era the way Scourge and Dark Flame do.
>>
>>79942071
>No, there's at least two more before it
Oh yeah, not sure why I forgot that since I've listened to them. I feel like audios are a lot easier to forget.

>Shame we only ever got 1 more original Seven+Benny story.
That's a pity. I really liked the 7/Benny/Ace dynamic. They're all really capable, a good team. I know there's load of books with Benny, does she team up with Ace in those too?
>>
>>79942071
>No, there's at least two more before it, plus at least one Seven+Mel one where McCoy is also doing the "talking really loud = acting" thing.
Wrong. McCoy's great in The Fearmonger. Agree about The Genocide Machine though.
>>
>>79942671
>I know there's load of books with Benny, does she team up with Ace in those too?
Yes, but it only really works in a few books. If you pick and choose the right ones, it's great, but in most of them, it's not. And right when it seems like everyone (or at least three writers in a row) finally get the hang of the dynamic, Ace leaves again, for good.

I honestly can't tell if you're being sincere because you only intend to read the best ones, or being sarcastic because you're planning to do a complete readthrough of all the NAs, but in case it's the latter:

Only a few books are really good because of Seven/Ace/Benny, but a lot more are really good anyway despite not getting it right, for a variety of different reasons. So it's not like you've got 22 books of horrible crap to slog through.

Apparently there are no pre-credits scenes in Series 10, and instead, before every episode, there's the same introductory scene of Bill/Doctor/Nardole running through corridors fighting Daleks will Bill's "I'm Bill... He's the Doctor...And now we go everywhere!" narration.
>>
>>79944314
Doubt they'd get rid of the cliffhanger narrative just for that. It's not like S5 did away with it when they had that weird Amy intro for American audiences.

Seeing that teaser once was enough for me, I don't want to have to endure it regularly.

Because it's just generic "look how epic the Doctor is XD" schlock?

I don't get it. The first teaser showed scenes from numerous episodes which actually looked good, and it made zero impact on /who/. The second teaser is just the Doctor walking down a corridor looking serious while Bill says how totally cool and awesome he is followed by a bunch of cgi stuff, and /who/ is suddenly hype for S10.
>>
>>79948145
Oh shit. You're right. Capaldi did mention a belt thing. That's GOAT.
>>
>>79948247
The first trailer was fine, but it was just a trailer.
We haven't had a specially made trailer like this in ages. Looks like BBC actually care about the promotion a bit again. The only problem was there weren't any scenes from the show like the Eccleston one.
>>
>>79948431
I can honestly accept that it's good purely because it's a specially made teaser, but if /who/ think it's good because of its content then I just don't understand.

Doctor who is fucking garbage.
It can tell any story in all of time and space and it always ends up a shitty looking celebration of mediocrity.
It's a predictable, safe formulaic children's show where the Le wacky man saves the day with some 'witty' banter and a 'clever' scheme.
The Doctor never goes anywhere in his development, just going from dark to light or dark to light depending on the incarnation.
It has no love for science or history, it just boils everything down for lowest common denominator. It's a waste of time and effort,
why don't you losers mature and watch some grown up television for a change.
You shouldn't watch doctor who unless it's with your own children but I really don't want you plebs procreating.

Best Doctor Who trailer ever made.

Best portrayal of Davros to date.

>>
>>79957694
Kris Marshall won't be the Doctor he's ugly and old. The Beebs want a young and handsome Doctor this time wrong as they rightly should.
>>
>>79957923
The guy playing Davros in series 9 did a far better job than the guy in series 4.
>>
>>79958030
Yeah, Julian Bleach was much better than Julian Bleach.
>>
Female Doctor will kill the show. The Doctor is a man. It doesn't matter if it has been established that Time Lords can change gender.

Just look at the General, Ken bones the bald whiteman playing the character was based. The Black chick he turned into was boring and non likable.

Missy works because the Master is batshit insane, and Michelle acts like a man in a womans body.

But the Doctor is the main character we've known him as a man for years, he is established as a man by his relationships, by the references to him. A female Doctor would just be a gimmick.
>>
>>79957558
Why the FUCK would Moffat recast his Master in the middle or end of his last series. RETARD,
>>
>>79958305
Maybe Chibbers had a say

>>79958244
Doctor Who has a lot of based bald men.

BECAUSE IT COULD MAKE A GOOD STORY YOU NAIVE AUTIST. MASTER REGENERATES AND WE GET CHIBNALLS MASTER LATER.
>>
>>79955232
Personally, I think Rings of Akhaten is under rated. Loved Smitty's performance.
>>
>>79958367
>>79958373
And why the FUCK would Chibnall want Moffat writing and introducing his Master? I'M the naive one?
>>
Am I the only would who think Capaldi's Doctor had great character development so far?

In series we see him being a grumpy old shite, cold and unsure of himself. By series end he resolves this. In series 10 he regains most of his personality and excitement that he once had but still feels his age so to speak. Now in series 10 we look like we will get his final development a mix of series 8 Capaldi and series 9 Capaldi.
>>
>>79958464
Because Chibnall is an established, multi-millionaire television writer and isn't a possessive baby?

I doubt he'd lose sleep over Moffat writing a few wacky lines.

>The Monk and the Rani are the most iconic Time Lords besides the Doctor

No casual viewer under the age of 40 knows who the fuck these characters are.
>>
>>79958244
I wouldn't have cared if they'd made any Time Lord change from a white man to a black woman; that incarnation of the General really was fucking GOAT and his replacement was not
>>
>>79958616
I am 21 I do, not sure of the Rani, but i'd like to see the Monk back.
>>
>>79958635
The General's regeneration serves as a warning and reinforces Chibnall's Gimmick comments about female incarnations.

The General was changed as a fuck you to conservative fans, there is no denying it. But the main flaw was they replaced the better actor with a shitty actress, just because she was non white and female.

It just goes to show don't just do it for the sake of it, you need to find the right actress.

Gomez/The Master is male to female done right.
The General is Male to female done horribly wrong.
>>
>>79958540
I like to think that Chibnall will care enough about his characters that he won't leave it to Steven Fucking Moffat to introduce to them
>>
>>79958616
More to the point, why do some fans just insist that the 2005+ era of the show has to bring back everyfuckingthing from 1963-1989 at some point? I don't get it.

>>79958683
Fuck off casual viewer. /who/ isn't for you.

>>79958506
No. I agree. I think he has the best development out of the NuWho docs.
One thing I noticed on rewatch is that I think the second chance he got at the end of Last Christmas gave him a bit of a lease of life as well.

I'm almost 38, and would love to see these characters back too.

>>

>>
>>79957967
Kris Marshall looks younger than his age (44 in April). He has a similar acting style to Peter Davison (who Chibnall has said in interviews was his his favorite Doctor of classic Who).

I wouldn't rule him [Kris Marshall] out yet. But he has young children, so may be unwilling to commit to months of location filming and promotional events every year. Which is why he quit Death in Paradise.
>>
>>79958936
Hopefully he doesn't. I'd quite like a series which holds back on continuity, fanwank and shit from the past. Throw in the Daleks because they probs have to, but have the rest be all new.

>>79958984
And only in S9 did he suddenly change to quirky fun rockstar guy because people above Moffat told them to tone down the pissy angry Doctor.

He'd have more of a point if he'd ranted about how 12 just waltzes around the Daleks as though they're not a threat. I know he's sort of "infiltrated" them but still, don't diminish their threat by having him chatting and whizzing about with them. (This bugged me about 10 and 11 too.) 9 showed genuine fear each time he faced the Daleks. Since 10, apart from the odd glimpse, the Doctors have just treated the Daleks like a joke.

>leaving a child on a battlefield
>taking Davros from his chair
>tricking a dying man into destroying himself
>acting uncaring to deaths in UTL/BTF
>needing cue cards for social situations

>going on a crazy crusade after clara died even though she told him not to
>overthrowing the government of Galiffrey then fucking off
