Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay, Amazon - generally overpriced, but you might get lucky.
>Mandarake, Rakuten - search 武装神姫 and don't trust listing images.
>Yahoo Japan Auctions, Suruga-ya - you'll need a proxy if you’re not in Japan.
>Taobao - some shops ship international now, so you might not need a proxy.
>Amiami, Jungle-scs - occasionally get some preowned.

i don't get it
>>6471586
Jojo reference.
Good thing i started to follow the fag hashtag on twitter
>>6471726
Can't wait for fagbike release
Finally succeeded in producing the first phase of this. I need HLJ to restock on Overed Manipulators before I can finish it, but it's a good start, I think.
>>6472056
For the sake of reference: two Wild Hand sets, two Beast Master Swords, two Ballistic Shields, four Energy Shields, a Propellant Tank Round and a Flexible Arm B went into this. The spare jet parts from the Energy Shields are going into my next project, Ninetails Innocentia.
Asking about >>6471497
The quick and dirty method I do for testing paint mixes is to put puddles on a sheet, or drip them out of the bottle with respective toothpicks each to count the proportions.
Yes with toothpick drops.
Is there a more efficient way to do this, because spraying thinned down coats will take a bit too long if you make 5ish test swatches?
>>6472056
>covered the skin
5/10. It was okay.
>>6472081
I did that with my Jinrai on building her. That's also why she's painted and topcoated while the parts around her are bare plastic for the moment.
>>6472056
When the wind is slow and the fire's hot, the vulture waits to see what rots.

What shade of gray is that on the legs? I want to do something similar to my Innocentia, only I'll be masking off the panties.
>>6472273
Tamiya German Grey on top of a coat of Tamiya surface primer, topped off with a matte coat.
>>6472315
Stupid Germans and their stupid sexy colors.
Where can I get those hands?
>>6472379
The ones in the OP are Overed Manipulators, one of Koto's Modeling Support Goods kits. Check the usual hobby sites. They're popular enough that HLJ actually didn't get enough to fill all the original preorders back in March when they came out, so some people, myself included, are still waiting on them to restock. Allegedly they'll be restocking soon.
>>6472388
iirc overed hands are gonna get restocked on Sept. im also waiting for a pair from ami
>>6472687
You can put them on the powered guardian in place of it's usual gun hands if you've got one.
>>6471726
Any idea how this was done? I can only imagine UV paint was involved.
>>6473357
>I can only imagine UV paint was involved.
Not necessarily. A lot of white and neon colored paint glows under blacklight.
Is it possible to dye the clear plastic parts another color if they already have a color? I don't like color of the clear plastic for regular Hornet.
>>6473440
It is possible but very limited. Basically because you have to use clear paint for this you will be essentially mixing colors. The blue of the visor can never be completely cancelled out so your only choices are basically purple or green visors by using red or yellow clear paint respectively.
It will also lower the transparency of the piece doing this and the resulting color could be difficult to get to the exact shade/tone you may like.
Architect looks a bit stifled.
>>6473505
>that color and blocky shape
It's like she made them from cardboard and put some white tapes around.
This Hamburger is drunk on coke.
Looks really cool. Fucking japs, how do they do it.
>>6473628
A Spiral Crusher, a Killer Beak, a Propellant Tank Round and a whole lotta paint. Japs have some of the best painters.
>>6471538
What are those fists?
Now that I think about it, these beam sabers are rather oddly-placed. I didn't actually believe that she could articulate her arm and be able to grab the beam saber in this position. I tried making her reach over to the far side, but it was impossible with the near-side beam saber handle blocking her arm.
It would be just as difficult even for a human, I don't think the designers thought this thing through.
>>6473742
What about grabbing the one on the opposite side?
>>6473742
Make her pull them with back of her hand like a badass 13yo, you know force unleashed style.
>>6473742
You could do this instead.
>>6473745
You'd pull them downward then, not up. The position those are in is for a backpack, not a chest piece.
>>6473758
This is the part used.
>>6473758
nice
>>6473745
>I tried making her reach over to the far side, but it was impossible with the near-side beam saber handle blocking her arm.
>>6473756
In terms of articulation, it's the same if you rotate the hand 180 degrees. It's just as awkward either way.
>>6473758
Yeah, it's pretty cool, I thought about doing that too when I saw the post on twitter. But I prefer my Hornet to keep her twin beam saber armament. Don't really like the way the mouth guard piece looks either, I'll be omitting it.
>>6473742
>It would be just as difficult even for a human
what? i just tried it, it's so fucking easy
>>6473923
Did you do it right? Notice the swept back angle. It's doable, but it's an ergonomic nightmare.
>>6473742
Huh, I didn't realize those were beam handles. I thought they were air tanks or RCS/SAS fuel tanks or something.
>>6473742
Maybe they're supposed to be spring-loaded?
>>6473925
yeah i did, even simulated the rod angled even further as to go over the shoulder
Not like beam sabers have a blade to get in the way until you turn them on
all you have to do is pop them off the charge port first
First time posting here.
A friend said he can give the finishing touches to my Gourai so I am finally finishing her. Really digging into the whole FA:G thing lately.
>>6474185
Welcome to the slippery slope
I have a problem with paint mixing.
1. The good news is that I managed to figure out the recipe to match the plastic skintone.
So here's the recipes for paint proportions:
Mr Color/GSI Creos:
7:3 - Character Flesh (1) to Character White
Reaper MSP Core Colors:
2:8 - 9445 Youthful Flesh to 9039 Pure White
2. The bad news is that the closest color mix uses Reaper paints. Which is acrylics for wargaming minis. Right now, the Mr Color recipe is slightly off from the plastic skintone by about 1 or 2 steps.
3. How do remedy that Reaper paints will not be as durable as using lacquers, but the tradeoff for color matching is really great?
>>6473771
>Don't really like the way the mouth guard piece looks either
the mouth guard from the helmet can be attached to the beamsaber holder/chest armor iirc
>>6474318
Why do you care about exactly matching the plastic when you're painting? Being 1% off that you won't even notice if you're not holding it right next to the sprue doesn't seem worth getting autistic about.
>>6474341
Autistic about the adjacent color matching? Because I can.
I'm looking to possibly get into this FA girl line, but I wanted to practice on some Gunpla I bought first since it's been years since I built model kits and want to minimize error if possible because of how expensive these are. Does anyone know if the plastic/quality of the kits have gotten any better with these re-releases? Any recommendations as to which girl to start out with?
>>6474433
>Does anyone know if the plastic/quality of the kits have gotten any better with these re-releases?
No one's remarked on the plastic changing but the construction of the newer releases has been getting better. As for recommendations, Jinrai is often recommended due to the number of accessories she comes with, Innocentia or the older Materia are good to have around for dress up purposes and unarmored parts while red Baselard essentially comes with two kits in one box (save a neck and a few cosmetic touches) for that extra bit of practice. You can't really go wrong so long as you avoid Gourai and Stylet though.
>roadrunner and hornet FINALLY shipped
And so the real wait begins.
>>6474341
>doesn't seem worth getting autistic about.
Isn't that whole idea of being autistic? Being overly invested in something most people don't really have any major concern over?
>>6474584
>Isn't that whole idea of being autistic?
Nah, it's about having problems getting social cues without putting a lot of additional learning effort into it.
What you're talkig about is just called "having a hobby".
>>6474594
Shit, looks like I'm autistic
>>6472687
I'm planning on making a combiner out of frame arms using them.
>>6473547
She probably just had a bad breakup and went on a binge.
>>6474433
They're not wholly different from one another in terms of plastic quality. I started out with Materia. I have done some minor fuckups on most of mine, but that's just how it is. Somehow my Innocentia's hip pieces got gouged (I guess when I was masking, but have no idea /how/) when I was in the process of painting them (giving her red pantsu), so it looks shitty and will have to probably putty and redo. Learning experiences, man.
>>6474318
Thanks for testing this. I've noticed a huge variation of colors between FAGs and MDs when playing around with heads (checking their proportions mostly) the other day. Grappler is obviously tanned, but Sniper is very white compared to my FAGs. Just for clarification: are these recipes for FAGs?
>>6474876
yes, Anon was testing for FAGs
BALLS HAVE ARRIVED.
>>6474941
nice, im still waiting for volksusa to say anything for my order
>>6474941
How did it feel when the mailman literally handed you your balls?
No FAG for me this month, I spent my autism allowance on a Thinkpad.
How many expensive autistic hobbies do you guys juggle at once? I'm at like three or four.
>>6473761
What is that ? Is really flexible ? Can i make funtional tentacles? For reserch purpose
It's something
>>6474960
He didn't he left them out in the back and my mum picked them up this morning.
Which sounds way worse.
>>6475059
I'm at two and a half. It's this, scale figures and I'm now dipping my toes into guns. Budgets are my life.
>>6475094
>guns
Christ, I'm glad I live in no-guns land or else I'd be knee-deep in old surplus junkers already.
>>6475059
My other hobby is archery and I'm a biliophile with a focus on books about pre- to early modern arms&armour in multiple languages and indie comics.
I used to scanlate french&italian comics.
Mwaha!
Roadrunner finally arrived. from HLJ.
Now to string enough moments together to assemble her.
>>6475350
I have a Unicorn sitting on my shelf that I still haven't finished assembling after four years or more. No rush.
>>6475358
>>6475350
I'm working on my entry for the group build and I'll be travelling some 800 kilometers to watch some dude re-perform a couple of Butoh dances developed by the late Kazuo Ohno this weekend.
I'd love to at least roughly assemble one of the Primulas, but no dice.
>>6475133
Where are you from anon? Unluckily there is no big inspiration in italian comics for shinkis.
>>6475059
pre-built action figures (figma, figuarts), cute girl kits (just megamis for now), photography (film and digital, very expensive), gunpla (just HG scale)
I'm hobbying way over my pay-grade, and now I want to get into train models......
>>6475486
Try Milo Manara Gulliveriana.
3D printed excalibur at 12% the original size.
It fits perfectly my FAGs. Used a paperclip to hold it together. Now i need to sand it and glue it.
>>6475557
> 12%
So slightly less than 1/8 scale?
>>6475557
needs to be 8% to be 1/12 scale
>>6474953
September 15th
>>6475557
using pla-plate looks easier than what your doing
>>6475760
Maybe you are right but i wanted to try it.
>>6475557
Why did you print it as a bunch of individual pieces? It looks like it would be a lot easier if it was all one piece.
>>6475382
I feel like my distractions are fairly mundane in comparison. Sounds neat, though.
>>6475486
Austria.
Well, your genitals would be touched by many if you'd make a Best Kamen Leper build for your tiny robots and there are a lot of mechs, robots, androids and PA in Nathan Never/Legs Weaver. Heck, if you're feeling lewd, you could grab an aditional couple of Polynas and make your own Legs and the Paladins team.
Orfanis are also an option, but that series is completely unremarkable in general.
>>6476426
>>6475945
I know but the it's divided in 10 stl files. The only one I have in one piece is the Falchion.
>>6473742
>hands still not painted
The whole deal with them being pvc is really starting to worry me. I wish they came in skin color.
Alright, I think this is the best FAG build I've seen. I want the official one to be just like her.
>>6477405
Especially this gimmick.
>>6477405
>"There are two sides of me: nice girl protector of justice and TWISTED FUCKING PSYCHOPATH."
>>6477663
>>6477678
She has the cutest smile, though.
>>6477405
Wait. Is this going to be a release version?
>>6477795
No, it's just a very well-made custom set of armor for an Architect to wear.
>>6477807
Customs this good make me want to slit my wrists. I'm not creative enough to do things like this.
>>6477807
Funny thing about this custom is that it was made waaaay before the actual Rayfalx kit came out
Which one of you hamhands bullied Styko?
>>6473505
That's the normal Kagutsuchi kit, right?
>>6477942
Exactly the same happened to my Innocentia,
;_;
>>6477881
so you're saying that whoever made it completely scratchbuilt the wings and arsenel arms from looking at koto's blog pics? because arsenel arms and rayfalx came out at the same time, so to make that long before rayfalx was released would kinda require building even that stuff completely from scratch. the molding looks far, far too crisp for that.
>>6478435
After the sacrifice of Gourai, I sanded down every joint on Stylet including the twintails. The twintails looked like they might break simply by touching them.
Learned that after Gourai's sacrifice.
>>6477942
I hate artists who draw cute girls crying/bullied.
>>6478346
I have to redo it on spoons now. Two tests on the Reaper recipe, and two to three tests on the GSI recipe.
So far, the in-manual recipe of 80-20 Character Flesh 1 and 2 respectively really does give an unusually pink color.
>>6478500
So you hate the animators for the FAG anime, then?
>>6478595
Sexual harassment is different, since all women secretly love it.
Somethings going on in the megami side of things.
>>6478609
Who put that uniform on Snipe and why was it not there before?
>>6478623
Maybe we'll know after that event, underboob is best boob.
>>6478627
Inb4 individual kit releases for the first two waves with new uniform bits.
>>6478486
Go get stick lubricant for sliding doors. That stuff has saved so many action figures and plamo kit joints for me.
It's like lipstick wax, just rub it on the ball / shaft and give it a good move in the final joint placement. My one stick has served me well for years and I never have to sand any joints.
Even managed to use it to loosen SHF, Transformers, and cape stuff that was on way too tight.
>>6478367
I can't believe it myself but Rayfalx was released in May.
This guy uploaded a video of him making it on Niconico in January.
Here's the link : http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm30364742
There used to be a post on fg as well but fg gone now :(
>>6478609
>dem snipes
>dem scouts
Expansion kit to make art-accurate WISMs when?
>>6478609
I thought the big jubblers were supposed to go on grapple, 'cause snipe can't get into her sniping pose with them.
>>6478682
She needs the extra fat for long missions with no food.
>>6478682
Grapple's already a tanned blonde wolfgirl. If she had big breasts none of the other girls would stand a chance.
>>6478609
That's a new sword in Assault's hand, isn't it? New figures?
>>6478691
> wolfgirl
I thought she was a catgirl? Not that I have a problem with this, I like fluffy doggy girls.
>>6478714
I always thought she was more of a wolf than a cat, though you're probably right.
>>6478609
>Snipe has a new chestplate with bigger breasts
>Assault has a new bitching-looking sword
>Grapple has blonder hair and it looks like she's got more armor on her forearms
>>6478906
So it is. Has the raw image, too. This an official thing?
>>6478937
doubtful. not enough koto logo badges for that.
>>6478609
you will never take your custom megami to a jap gathering of megamis ;_;
>>6478966
Can too
Start saving and watch for deals on plane tickets.
>>6478937
Not official, but with how the Megami Device IP is done, anyone could make anything (parts, third party kits, maybe doujins) for Megami Device whenever they want and sell it wherever they want without Kotobukiya getting on their asses for IP infringement. It's one of the aspects of the line that's really great and another of one of those things that makes the line a giant FUCK YOU to Konami who was notoriously stingy about fan derivative rights for conventions and stuff.
>>6478682
The "official" stats has Snipe with it as shock absorption when she fires a round. Or rather that's what Toriyama was saying (jokingly).
>>6479119
>Kyonyuu shock absorbers
First I want this to become a trend, then I want that trend to continue.
>>6479121
They're batteries in the unreleased cow girl and ballast tanks in Waffedolphin. Tiny robot girls always have a reason for their over sized chests.
Is it worth paying 60 shekels for a Godhand?
>>6479117
Koto sells a doujin boob and hair kit through their site, if that tells you anything.
Would you?
>>6479345
Does she have loose hip joints?
>>6479355
She will when I'm done with her.
But seriously, there's so little exposed it's hard to tell if she's even attractive. Her face is at least attractive though.
>>6478609
Given the runaway success of FAGs before and during the anime, if I were Kotobukiya, I would be desperately jamming money down the throat of anyone who would so much as make a net-animation for Megami Device.
It would be foolish not to follow up with another smol robot girl anime while the boom is still going.
>>6479493
There is such a thing as oversaturation.
>>6479549
And now I'm curious which MD which FAG would like the most.
>>6479552
>Gourai likes fellow plain MC Assault
>Stylet professes to like fellow flier Hornet, but secretly emphathizes with Scout's crush on Assault
>Architect likes Snipe's calm attitude
>Jinrai goes full chuuni over fellow Ninja
>Materias like dom Archer
>Hresvelgr thinks all of them are woefully underarmed compared to her, but appreciates Grapple's battlelust.
>>6479607
>Baselard likes fellow birdbrain Roadrunner
>>6479505
Sure, but compare the number of Shinki-Alikes you get in a season to the number of tired high-school romances.
Oversaturation is the process of the supply outpacing the demand, and I for one would still like more anime about tiny robot girls who just happen to be well equipped for violence.
>>6479631
>Kotobukiya's master plan is to alternate seasons between FAGs and MDs to prevent small robot girl fatigue
>>6479631
I need to get a few more WISMs. They really are great for army building.
WISM are fantastic. I hope we get a couple more classes of them. Like a Commander/Engineer combo.
>>6479633
I had no idea how much I wanted this until you posted it.
>>6479631
Are they made with white armor so you could easily give them custom paint jobs? I could imagine they'd look cute in some form of splinter or digital camo.
Please help

>>6479831
Fags can't get married in Japan, Anon.
>>6479990
I'm sure there must be a loophole that allow you to legally marry a robot, AI development is not quite there yet, that's all.
>>6480258
Just don't let Elon Musk hear about it.
>>6479693
http://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Model-Kits/Tools-Adhesives/Extra-Thin-Cement/p/146566
I wouldn't use regular superglue, plastic cement melts the plastic and "welds" it together forming a stronger bond.
>>6480406
>Where's "R18"? They're holding hands!
Where do these reprobates come from?
Is this a board raid from /d/?
>>6479990

>tfw still scrub
>>6480608

Why black?
>>6480760
That's racist
>>6480760
OMG Karen, you can't just ask someone why they're black.
Guess I'll have to give up. The level of detail isn't good enough.
>>6480760
It's the traditional Playboy Club look.
>>6480608
Looks to me like you're only a couple of seam-welds away from graduating from scrubdom, though.
Semi-related note: Does anyone know a good tutorial for doing fishnet stockings on FAGs and the like?
>>6480760
>We live in a time when you have to explain to someone that the default color for a bunny girl suit is black.

>fishnet stockings
They go and fit actual fabric to the parts.
>>6480818
>>6480847
>>6480853
Damn
Those would look perfect on Asura Ninja MD
>>6480775
Looks pretty good to me. Can't you use a file or knife to score in the remaining details?
Do you use extra thin cement or normal cement to remove seam lines on FAG?
>>6480941
You could do either. I haven't done it with normal cement, but I feel like it might be more reliable.
>>6480258
>I'm sure there must be a loophole that allow you to legally marry a robo
If you have the cash, any priest will marry you to anything, really. Religion's completely privatized in Japan. They married a teenage boy to the Smoked Cheese meme character couple of years ago.
It won't end up in your family register though.
>>6480941
Both work and I've used both but the thin is easier to work with usually. Capillary action, yo.
>>6479642
Splinter camo sounds like a bloody pain to do.
Extra thin is basically just acetone isn't it? I just got some to try out and it sure smells and acts like acetone.
>>6480311
Is quick drying extra thin bad?
Is it a problem that it dries too fast or does it not weld as well?
The store where I usually buy stuff didn't have that normal extra thin left.
>>6481010
Try MTP where the brush strokes change color from one end to another.
>>6481096
>Is quick drying extra thin bad?
Usually the main issue with plastic cement is that it actually takes ages for its reaction to be done and the weld to be secure.
>>6481107
Well I found another place with both in stock.
http://www.modellbau-koenig.de/Tools_/_Brushes_/_Glue/Glue/Tamiya_extra_thin_Cement/Plastikkleber_duennfluessig_i241_27368_0.htm
http://www.modellbau-koenig.de/Tools_/_Brushes_/_Glue/Glue/Tamiya_extra_thin_Quick_/Plastikkleber_duennfluessig_i241_51086_0.htm
So there is no reason to buy the former if quick setting even has the same price tag?
Also what is this ABS-cement?
http://www.modellbau-koenig.de/Tools_/_Brushes_/_Glue/Glue/TAMIYA_ABS-Cement/Klebstoff_40ml_i241_36843_0.htm
>>6481123
ABS-cement is for ABS-plastics. They basically resist being glued the way a reasonable man with some concerns resists integration of his local schools. They can only be glued with products that create adhesion between the parts by means of a seperating film, like superglue or that ABS cement.
Speed of evaporation with plastic cement used on PS mainly comes into play depending on the part and your style of working them. For large surfarces or if you have to fiddle around with bits until they fit, the usual slow, goopy plastic cement with additions is better. If you can just apply the cement, press the parts and be done with it (like most modern kits) or if you need capillary action, the fast, thin ones should be the way to go.
>>6479684
Like that crack there is a job for thin cement.
>>6481092
>>6481096
>>6481138
Yeah extra thin is pure solvent, could be acetone, or some other organic solvent. The normal thicker cement has 10% or so styrene dissolved in it, check the label for specifics.
Anyway, the lack of dissolved filler material in extra thin means that you shouldn't use it for jobs where you don't want material loss. Seam welding is okay as long as you do not clamp the halves too tightly, but as for cracks, it depends.
Post summer pics.
>>6481233
When I first opened her box and saw the iridescent parts I was amazed.
Anyone know the mix to use for that more roseish red on innocentia or know a good similar colored paint for it? I like the base color and don't want to do it just straight red.
>>6481145
Extra thin isn't pure solvent (Although it's close). Its got a teeny tiny bit of dissolved resin/plastic in it, which is why there is often some discoloration when you seam weld with it.
>>6481233
Why is cheeseburger so cute? All of my FAGs are cool but she's the only one i find cute.
>>6481293
I don't, but my guess would be that you want to mix a little bit of either an off-white like Deck Tan or a flesh-tone into your red to get that kind of colour. Mixing with pure white will obviously just send you straight to pink.
>>6480888
Cut fishnets. Wrap around part. Profit.
>>6481311
You're probably just a natural bully. She's got faves that make you want to tease her, it's understandable.
>>6481480
Why would I bully such a cute girl? That is why I have Stylet
>>6481502
Because cute girls are the best to bully, their reactions are the most fulfilling; that's most of why Stylet is such good bully bait.
>>6481321
I was thinking of mixing it with a very light white-purple. It looks a bit deeper than just light red.
>>6481627
>>6481321
Actually, it and Jinrai's (red) armor are nearly identical, and according to mech 9's color guide jinrai's armor is essentially red with some white and a tiny bit of reddish brown (depending on paint brand).
I'll play around with tamiya and vallejo paints tonight to see if I can get a decent color equivelant.

DELET
Will using a blow dryer on acrylic make it cure faster?
>>6481099
Oh boy.
>>6481769
Probably yes, but don't do it.
Acrylic dries quite fast anyway, all you will do is mess up with the little self-leveling it may have.
>>6481769
It will fuck up your paint.
>>6481677
I want to delet Stylet's smile.

I was expecting dickbutt. Then I realized no one uses that anymore and felt old.
I'm stressed and disappointed that I botched the skintone matching recipes.
I had five recipes that turned out different when I airbrushed them onto spoons. They're either too light or not enough orangey enough.
The manual's recipe for skintone is very salmon-y.
I didn't actually think I'd have to end up spraying the shoulder joint parts, so the tolerances are almost OOB with no space for paint layers to wiggle.
How is everyone else doing on that? I need help or a new recipe.
>>6482130
Just buy gaia notes original fag skintone paint.
Asking about this so called photo book that someone wants to get people from /toy/ to submit to? In >>6482483 ?

>not having her wear her armor in bed
I'm starting to question your dedication.
>>6482556
You have a vision blessed by the emperor.
>>6482556
Time and place, my boy, that armor would destroy sheets and probably the bed. Now, Hres and Base, however...

>>6482877

Not the manga versions. They take her when they have to, it's just not fun.
>>6482877
So who is the FAG in the background?
>>6482605
You want emperor blessed visions?
The bullet has to be painted too
>>6480311
Thanks for this, the cement is a real lifesaver, I feel like I can fix EVERYTHING!
>>6483181
Try painting individual cartridges in 1:35 scale.
>>6483197
>I can fix EVERYTHING!
You need a Pinvise for that but you can get really close with cement.
>>6471538
Where can i buy FAG spare joints parts? My materia girls hands peg broke..
>>6483230
>>6483230
You want MSG Mecha Supply 06, Joint Set B. Comes with six spare wrists.
https://hlj.com/product/KBYMJ-06
>>6483230
Buy Innocentia, she comes with extra sets.
Is ranalcus here?
I just imagined Eggplane Stylet's head on an Innocentia body with matching colors. I need it but I have no way to paint it.
>>6482851
Good to see someone else has excellent taste.
>>6483674
Hoe do you accomplish this? I must know!
>>6483681
Looks like either a paint rub or wash of a pearl color over skin color (flesh colored plastic?)
>>6483235
Grey wrists. I guess ABS wrists at that. Can you paint those? paint peeling off wont be a problem?
What's the best way/grits to sand before painting?
>>6483181
What weapon is that? That front end looks AK like
>>6483904
MSG sniper, same one that came with the Stylet weapons kit.

So Goodsmile is doing a custom face printing thing for Nendoroido.
>>6483963
As always they fit Cupoche but not perfectly, but a bit of filing off the top bits would probably help a lot (haven't gotten round to doing so myself)
>>6483965
>>6483772
New guy jumping in here. I've never worked with pearl paints before. I assume there's a certain transparency to the paint but you still have to paint more heavily in the areas that aren't see through, right? Or can you achieve that with a consistent coat?
>>6484004
Or maybe I could've scrolled some more and answered my own question. Did he really accomplish that just by shading underneath the pearl though? It almost seems too simple.
>>6484004
It's a very simple wash.
You can tell that it was one just by the way the paint stayed on and where it pooled up.
You can control where the wash goes by using a wet brush and guiding it where you need it. You can even see his brush strokes on the bottom right cheek, so it's not even something that customizer mastered.
It's very easy to do, but the paint consistency required is something you have to do a lot of research on or just do it yourself practicing different techniques (barely hours of work).
And you have to know when enough is enough. Less is always more.
>>6484083
Preshading
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gP1nB0faRL0
>>6484109
Start now.
You should be trying it on everything that you paint, just like pre-shading.
It's a very useful technique, but you should use it sparingly at first if you dont want to uglify things fast.
>>6484185
>You should be trying it on everything that you paint, just like pre-shading.
>You paint
So that saying about assumptions comes into play here. I'm just a glorified snapshitter for now preparing to get the equipment I need to ramp up to big boy status. I'm not going to dump a ton of time into hand painting when I'll only be detailing with it later.
How long should I wait after the final top coat to start playing with my new small soldier?
>>6484937
24 hours.
Sleep, and dream of the joys you FAGs will have together.

Ruined. Looks like Daibadi wins again.
Titty Archer is up on Hobby Search.
Hooooot damn. Looks like her bow things can act as a stand too, that's neat. Loving the sideboob as well.
I wish I'd seen this before I seam-welded Road-Runner. Now if I want to give her a different-colored forelock, I have to hand-paint it.
It would have been really easy to paint separately.
>>6485079
Up on amiami. Jan. Release
Sadly for me figma Joker release in the same month, i really want two Asra.
>>6485351
Up on HLJ EVENTUALLY. I wish they'd get their act together and post things I want to preorder around the same time as the other guys.

Aren't the space marines pretty flat? Parts are interchangable between the kits.
>>6485654
>Advocating saggy grandma titties
Stop that. They aren't flat either, just more average than the bountiful Titty Ninja and Oppai Archer.
Ball-chan is confirmed adorable, holy cow. She definitely has some issues, but for a first by this company she's definitely a strong showing.
Pluses:
-Really great balance and leg articulation (esp. without the skirt)
-Actual expressions, if you dig that
-Cute lil articulated hair floofs
-Very modular armor
-Skintone boobplate, if you dig that
-Comes with blank faceplates
-Comes with soft and hard plastic options for most joints
-Very interesting internal mechanisms
-Realistic proportions
Cons:
-Arm guns limit elbow articulation, working on a fix as we speak
-Hands and arms don't quite flow seamlessly (Hand connections to wrists are bigger than wrists, bicep connection to shoulder is a tad offset)
-Parts tend to fall off while posing (mine's kneecaps won't stay on no matter what), especially armor bits and the heels of her shoes if you hit them right
I'm thinking of adding some bright "neon" accents to Jinrai and her weapons, can you advise a way to make colors brighter and more saturated? I'm thinking of purple.
>>6485664
I'm tempted, but her availability is a little weird.
If she's still around when the next Vlockers girl comes out, I'll probably grab one.
That said, what the heck is the name of the line? Primula? Vlockers?
>>6485691
Oh? I preordered, so I don't know what's up there.
Her specific name is primula, and I believe the line name is Nexate Fiore
>>6485701
The heels do a lot for me.
I just can't find the kit available anywhere but Volks USA store.
>>6485337
That's stupidly cute.
>>6485664
I want one but I'm not from the US so Volks US wont sell to me. Guess I'll miss this line. It's better for my wallet at least.
>>6485814
>I want one but I'm not from the US so Volks US wont sell to me.
Jesus christ, just use a middleman service and order from Japan, like the rest of us.
>>6485664
How compatible is she with FA girls? if you have a innocentia maybe you could use the spare arms, hands or legs to mitigate the cons you mentioned.
I hate TOM so much. Has anyone here gotten these from a not shitty seller yet? Also, anyone know how long their "made to order" books usually take to ship? They have a couple books I've been having a hard time finding elsewhere.

Asra Archer's on Ami
Update on color matching:
GSI/Mr Hobby:
9 parts character flesh 1 to 1 part character white. That's 9:1.
As for Reaper I'm guessing based on previous airbrush results, but it might be 9:2, Pure White to Youthful Flesh.
For the most part, the Mr Color recipe passes a casual observation, but to trick the eye some more, you probably need to go over all flesh tone parts by post-shading with weathering powder.
>>6485493
Praise be Plamor.
>>6485079
Fuck, they're already sold out at HS.
>>6485652
thanks, it's my first time greenstuff scultping actually. I just practiced a good bit with clay first which did not get nice textures as easily as the green stuff so I found green stuff shockingly easy when I finally worked with it. I really enjoy using it I am finding, gonna have to invest in bulk buying eventually.
>>6486188
Oh well, that at least reminded me to pre-order the DTA Gourais.
>>6486188
Amiami, ho! HLJ hasn't stocked theirs yet either.
>>6486188
Why do people panic every time this happens like the first round of preorders is your only chance? Ninja "sold out" within like a half hour an was available again the next day, and is still up.
>>6485919
We should really start documenting all this stuff somewhere more permanent than 4chan.
>finally get around building Baselard's clone from HLJ edition
>ankle joint pieces are missing
Haven't even taken those sheets out before, where the hell could I even use them? That's gonna be my mystery of the week.
>>6486358
If the FAG anime has taught me anything, it's probably just caught in your skirt.
tfw missed juden-kun rip session base stand

Nexate is VLOCKer's mecha line, and Fiore is their mecha musume line. However, the armor parts are cross-compatible.
