I just put together my set of six Millenias. They are super cute, and while I don't have experience with the previous releases, it seems they made some significant improvements to the joints from the previous releases. I also didn't realize the Millenias were so flat compared to previous releases, but it makes sense if they wanted the focus on chest mounted armor. I imagine Gourai will be similar.
I think Ballista is my favorite of the batch.

They are more like moderately priced trading figures, but you are forced to buy them in sets until they become a bit pricey. They even come in those little rip-open display boxes you might see at some brick-and-mortar. I do think they look nicer as small little troops with specialized weapons than just having them singled out though.

This chapter gave me writer's block for a good while there, mostly because of the subject matter. I also had some difficulty figuring out how tsun to make our human girl in this scenario: I wanted her to be a more sour personality to contrast Sayuri, but not so sour as to be the stereotypical asshole tsundere. I might go back and try to rewrite this if it comes across poorly, but I'm also kind of inclined to just power through and move on to the stuff that's easier to write. Next chapter's more R-18 stuff, this time with a new focus character.

While MMS weapon pegs are different from Koto's MSG 3mm pegs, the Shinki MMS3 neck socket is just about the same size as the stock MD neck peg. (Pop out the MMS3 neck peg and plug in the MD neck peg)

I'm kind of regretting not grabbing the BD sets with Gourai and Stylet when I had the chance. Base is just a recolor and I'm sure they'll release an updated Gourai with Kai parts after they actually get the kit out to people, but I didn't realize how much of an improvement the Innocentia-d kits are over the originals.

Vac forming worked pretty well. The only real issue was that the positive tool I used was shoddily made and getting it out without breaking it was impossible. I'll also have to re-apply the sealing on parts of my box .

I'm nowhere near finished, but I have enough painted parts to put together something presentable.

I'm not sure how to paint the PVC hands. Won't the paint chip off because the hands are soft and malleable?

From the googling I did, it seems like there are three things you can do to improve PVC "paintability":

1. Sand it
2. "treat it" with acetone which appearantly makes the surface more porous, but I'm not sure about doing that to parts that will be under stress during assembly or posing
3. Prime it

I'd go with sanding, priming and praying.

I think dying might work better than just painting, after all paint sticks to PVC easily.
The problem is getting the colors right. I assume dying it a darker color is easier.

I have finally corrected my mistake I made months ago by getting a naked black body for my Waffebunny, so I actually have a complete Shinki now.

Are the complete sets any better than an EX set+body? The armor is a real bitch to get on and keep on, especially the chest and hands.

I find it easier to sand the peg holes with carbide/diamond head sanding... dremel heads than it is to sand down the pegs. Unless there's a super special voodoo to sanding pegs that's not just a clumsy way of "wrap sandpaper around peg"

That was building my 7th MD and the others have been OK. I wasn't expecting it to be so stiff, but you're right about the sanding.

Also these Cheeseburger transparent parts are already a pain in the ass. They're even glossy and hard to hold on to while working on.

They never use the term Space Marine. You won't be able to find any official material with the words Space Marine appearing wthout something in between them. They're UNSC Marines. Aliens uses Colonial Marine. Starcraft just uses Marine or Terran Marine. Honestly, no. They were my first two and they're not terribly impressive. The equipment parts are bulky and hard to rearrange in any interesting ways, the weapons don't stay stable in their hands without the wrist extensions but the wrist extensions greatly weaken the wrists, and the fact that they're almost all backpack makes them impossible to pose without a stand. The ship modes are nice enough, I guess.
