He's great. Ankle tilts, wrist swivel, tail articulation. Better dino mode too, except that unfortunately placed robot mode arm. Had fun figuring out the transformation, much more fun than some of the other AOE/TLK transformations.

Only other things I could complain about is he sucks at holding 5mm pegs and the fake jaw kibble on the hips is a bit weird especially since it's there in dino mode too.

So I was transforming my mp artfire when the left knee just like dislocated and wouldn't peg back in and ratchet
I wasn't sure what happened cause I didn't hear a snap or anything break, so I unscrewed and opened him up and saw that the little screw thing holding him against the ratchet mechanism stripped all the plastic connecting his leg

Is there any way to fix this???

Actually, let me be more helpful. I do belive there is a compound sold at hardware stores that you can use to refill a screw hole, let it dry, re-tap and then re-screw. I honestly couldn't tell you what it's called, but they may have a specific brand just for plastics. Might be worth a little research. You would probably have to buy a tapping kit, but it would still be cheaper than shelling out for a replacement Artie.

Or you could just try and disassemble the whole crotch (which I guess you would have to do anyway) and go back in with a slightly bigger screw.

On the subject of Masterpiece repaints, i just got MP Toy Primal. He's really great, though a lot of that comes from the design choice. I never really saw the show, but the toy was one of my all time favorites. To see it realized in such a satisfying package is just enrapturing.

I should get my biggest gripe out of the way right now: I fucking hate the feeling of paint all over this guy. I could understand the original use of this mold being so chalky since it's tampographed all over, but this guy has black paint on black plastic, and it just makes me scared of scraping it or leaving tons of little scratches all over. It's held up for now, but I'm gonna be anxious each time I need to nudge his Ape head into the chest for bot mode.

That said, his engineering is a dream. I wish his Gorilla mode had a dedicated knee bend, but his twerk joint does a decent job of letting you get some nice poses out of him. Obviously the upright posture is the best, but there are plenty of joints to get his arms out in front for some major Kong references.

Sadly, he's missing most of the alternate faces from the first release, certainly replaced by other accessories. I do think the faces they chose were the right ones, though I wouldn't mind losing the lipped face for the smiling gorilla head. The faceplate is just so much better looking to me that I don't know how many times I'll swap it out. Then again, I love making him hold his mask, so it might actually be pretty often.

Yeah, it was clearly done to ensure he had show accurate shoulder cannons. Shame because i loved the shoulder flaps of the original toy's cannons, but that would need a hell of a lot of new engineering to happen here.This release does include a totally new piece to store all the new accessories in both modes, it still doesn't allow you hold the original swords.

And on that note, the parts that sealed the deal. The double sword is a great compromise and my favorite weapon for him. The mace is nice, though I would have preferred if it had MP Megatron's posable chain instead of the stick. It's still nice as a club, and that skull sculpt is just as brutal as the original with the added benefit of seeing chains in his eyes. The real star though is the Mutant Mask. It's brutal, beautifully sculpted, and even works with the light up feature. Love the antennae as mandables too.

Idea: time warp. The Vox show up and use time travel to kidnap the Autobot shuttle containing Megatron, the season 1-2 Decepticon roster, and all of the Autobots that died in the movie.

They get grabbed and end up in 2018. Galvatron/Scourge/Scorponok etc are all MIA though Cyclonus has resurfaced as a neutral/NAIL having bailed from the group, which fell into civil war between the Hive and Galvatron's group.

Decepticons have the POV of being time-lost and adapting to modern time. Most of the OG Autobots that have been saved from death go away while Ratchet and Prowl stick around. Both revert to their comic personas as a result of the future shock and knowing they died. Ratchet becomes depressed and morose over fear of being dragged back into the past and Prowl goes full Nazi SS because he also fears being dragged back into the past and is dead set on killing Megatron in order to cancel the future entirely.

Core cast for the first season would be

Decepticons: Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and his Cassettes, Constructicons, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and the Coneheads.

Autobots: Optimus Prime, Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, Kup, Bumblebee, Nautica, Ratchet, Prowl

Dinobots, Blurr, Arcee, Windblade, Blaster would be guest stars, along with Cyclonus and Tailgate (odd couple/NAIL).

OG Starscream in full-on Pretender mode would be one of the two main adult characters. The other would be a young teenage male who befriends Prowl and Ratchet when they return to Earth. One of the main plot points will be the fact that OG Starscream mindwiped himself when he locked himself inside his pretender shell and shrunk himself down to human size, so he'll have a huge crisis of conscience when he realizes he's not only a Transformer but Starscream as well.

What if Cybertron doesn't actually exists. We've been lead to believe that we're seeing the story from the human perspective but what if we're actually seeing things from the Transformers perspective.

All Transformers in every continuity are actually made on Earth. They're programmed with A.I. and false memories of another planet but actually they have always been on Earth and exist solely for our entertainment... this would also explain why humans never seem to get killed despite being in the middle of a fight between giant robots. They're programmed not to harm humans. Any human who has been harmed is likely also a robot like Raf being hurt in Prime but he was also some how able to understand Bumblebee when no one else could and was some how able to hack into advanced technology with a standard lap top.

This also helps explain away continuity errors since they could just be reprogrammed or data could be corrupted. But basically every Transformers story is set on an alternate Earth with more advanced tech who created the Transformers as a form of entertainment. Except rather than just watching them on TV like we do they can actually interact with them like a live action role play game.

Any of the three pack teams were used into the ground. The rest all share sprues with their large counter parts, so only get used when they get new colourways or split off for the blindbag pack ins. Japan went craaaazy between Armada and Superlink with pumping out the 3 pack teams in specialty colour sets and dvd pack ins. Any that were left were reused as specialty store offers for Cybertron store exclusives or incentive pack ins. The molds probably still exist, but they're probably in rough shape. Takara has even stated that they just can't reuse them due to the wear. Especially the saber team. The classics minicon molds are probably still good, but there's not really that much selection which we haven't seen a few times already.

The only new team that I can think of that hasn't been reused more than once is that green and black combining team that came out with the deluxe armada Starscream wave for generations.

Use Shockwave as the leader of the Decepticons, with his lengthy absence to explain away moving him towards his comic personality. Henchmen would be be Thunderwing and the Mayhem Squad (IE Spinister, Needlenose, Ruckus, Crankcase, Quake, Windsweeper) as bad guys. Maybe have Tidal Wave, Barricade, Black Arachnia, and a couple of other non-Gen 1 guys as guest villains.

Galvatron and his crew/the Hive will be MIA; Starscream has a reaccuring role; he ends up resurfacing on Windblade's homeworld and has become President of it. He's largely reformed and dating Windblade, but still scheming like crazy.

Autobots would be Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Hot Rod, Jazz, Grimlock, and Arcee. Ultra Magnus, Kup, Blurr, Blaster, Rewind, and Chromedrome are the B-Squad. One of the central themes for the good guys, will be Bumblebee hating Hot Rod and feeling he should be Prime's heir (a meta nod to how hated Hot Rod is).

Season five's main arc would be a simplified version of Dark Cybertron, in terms of Shockwave creating a time singularity to eliminate the universe save for Cybertron. Bumblebee and Hot Rod stop Shockwave, but Hot Rod dies in the process. But in the process, for one moment, all of existence blinks off then on. And this is the plot point that lets them make Galvatron Megatron again, bring back the dead guys from the Autobot Shuttle in the movie, along with getting rid of the shitty Rebirth version of the Nebulons and replacing them with the superior Buck Rogers version from the comics.

I have seen a packaging sample of the Deluxe Bumblebee at their licensing expo. (That's where they sign up licensors for underoos and cups. Etc.) Geewun fans will love it, it's very retro. The front of the blister has the same up the side logo as the Generations line, but done in a glossy red foil. Apparently the Cons will have this in purple. The card art have a grid pattern similar to the opening credits from season 2, with the character art in a running pose.

We didn't see any toys, just the character art for Bee. The head and chest is pure G1 Bee with big stomping car bonnet feet. Member berries.

The back ditches the toy pics for a battle mural of the toys (member berries again!) and something closer to proper bio specs than we've been getting, all scrunched up to fit English and three diff EU scribbles.

The cross sell will be on the bottom of the blister card, but the sample just had comic art of Optimus Prime and Megatron from IDW.

They've got Netflix for the show. Thankfully. Their logo is on the back of the card. They said to expect small batch of episodes every few months, so there wasn't a year wait between seasons. Still a standard 26 episode order, just stretched out over the year.

The rep was very clear that this was a reboot of the brand. He wasn't part of the Transformers team, so he really didn't know anything specific beyond what was in his press folder.

I've always liked 2007 Arcee, actually. Her design is possibly the best possible attempt at a feminine Bayformer and there's just something about that tone of pink / light purple that really rubs my "aesthetic bone". Also, her bow is pretty rad.

And yeah, I'd rather have figures that just look like shit over figures that look like shit AND are painted like shit, like most deluxes in Combiner Wars.

Thanks! I wish I was wrong though. I'd love a mix of both of these: yellower Bee with painted eyes and an OP with dark grey & blue, the extra paint apps and the silver pinstripping (white would have been even better).

Maybe they'll do another version down the line. At least for Optimus. A slight retool/redeco where you can swap the fists for blades, or hooks, or hooks that can transform into blades, a second gun, white pinstriping and maybe an additionnal swappable ab piece to reproduce his DOTM appearence.

You pay upfront for the item, shipping when the item is in stock. They're in Japan. Their emails tend to always end up in the spam box for some reason so pay attention to that.
