It most likely is Falcon, but it's still intriguing that they chose London bus for comparasion. If it's Falcon, wouldn't it make sense to use some other SW set? Then again, that would make it too obvious. Also, if it's going to be as big as old one, why not use Ninjago City, to show that "Hey, here's the biggest set on the market. But we can go even bigger!"

One of the Mixels from that yellow tongue-themed wave used the phrase "back of the bus window-licker" in its official description, which drew some criticism. It wasn't on the packaging or anything, though, so it was just a matter of updating the website and printing a new run of the catalog.

At least these don't have the DC license so they're cheaper than TLBM sets.

The "artist" lied to Lego about what he was going to do with the pieces he was asking for. If Lego had known what it was actually for, they never would have given him the pieces.

His shitty bait-and-switch is the reason why Lego no longer donates pieces to artists. The fact that it says "SPONSORED BY LEGO" makes it appear that Lego is complicit in that mess.

Went up north today and checked out their Walmart and Kmart. Kmart was depressing as always but had a lot of $25 sets on clearance for $20.

Walmart was having some fun sales but most of it was stuff I didn't want. Picked up a CMF sharkboard surfer (I agree that the sharkboard is the only really cool reason to get him, but I will use all the pieces) and a four dollar Mixel. They had four left from Series 9 at a buck cheaper than normal and they looked so sad in their dirty display box that was mounted too high for little kids to reach.

Duplo cake was $2.50 instead of $5. Red box was regular price.

This stupid story really brings out the worst in humanity. I hate absolutely everyone involved and everyone who still mentions it.

> people reproducing a design/story of someone else are the ones responsible for it

> people pretending this thing has a bigger aftermarket price because of the story when it has the same price history as literally every other 100+$ Star Wars set

Assuming you're not just fishing for replies, "back of the bus window-licker" is a derogatory way to refer to someone with a cognitive disability, much like how "slant-eyed gook" is a derogatory way to refer to someone of Asian descent.

Oh, OK. In the US and UK, the special-education students are often relegated to the back of the bus ("back of the bus" in itself is derisive, because in the old days the undesirable passengers were often forced to sit in the back seats where the lack of decent shock absorbers meant their ride was more unpleasant than those closer to the driver), and "window-licker" denotes someone who is literally so mentally disabled that they derive pleasure from licking windows, computer monitors, etc.

I guess it is a horse. Don't know why they had horns added to them. Also the X-wing is apparently the first generation one. "0937" was supposedly a knockoff brand years ago. They put their name in a red square on the bottom right of the front of the box, and requested sellers to stock the boxes upside-down.
>>
New to /toy/, but what's your opinion on the brickheadz? I loved Lego as a kid, but I hadn't built anything in like 15 years except for the 911 for my brother who bought it because he loves that car. I would just look at sets online and wish I had the $$ to justify the biggest sets.

Then I realized my desk at work is barren, and everyone else seems to have funko pop figures, so I thought why not get all 8 of the non-Disney ones? The fact that it's only had one series sold it on me that I could have all of them(at least for now)

I actually think they're pretty cool, and look forward to future releases. Helps satisfy my building itch while being a total of under $100.
>>
>>6460725
I was surprised that they were only ten bucks. I figured they'd be a couple dollars more because muh license tax.
>>
>>6460725
>all 8 of the non-Disney ones
I have bad news for you. On a slightly more serious note; I enjoy them so far. The biggest complaint I have about them is the people who constantly come up to me in the store I work at and ask if they are assembled in the box. Most of these people get upset and put them back when I tell them they will have to put the bricks together. That isn't really Lego's fault.

This is the single biggest reason I largely collect Star Wars Lego. It is the theme with the most sets that I don't become indifferent towards after buying. If I were to purchase themes such as friends, marvel, cyborg knights I'd regret in a week or just not appreciate at all.

Star wars stans aren't bad it is just one of the themes we appreciate even when we go through our dark ages.

Lego didn't do enough to explain to the regular consumer of funko pop and similar figurines that Lego needs to be built. The single 2x1 brick on the top of the tiny package does nothing to inform the idle masses that the parts count is not just for show and is actual Lego parts to be assembled.

>In the US and UK, the special-education students are often relegated to the back of the bus.

That's different from rural Oz back in my day.
Back then the back seat was place of the cool older kids.
You had to work your way up there either through having a cool older sibling, getting older, or just being the coolest little kid on days when the high schools had the day off.

And retards were always made to sit up front so the bus driver could keep an eye on them.

Or course by the time I was nearing the end of high school that all changed due to teachers who didn't have respect for the unspoken rules of the bus.

I like it (and i'm a sperg). I think the no pornographic content rule is a blessing and a curse. On one hand it keeps things in check of going to balls to the wall, but on the other hand it is more accessible to children and adult people are scared off from not being able to upload whatever they want.

Good artists are still on there though, mainly because the interface and functionality is an oasis in the current trends of tumblr and pinterest and shit. Those sites are impossible for me to navigate. On da you follow people, have a simple to use yet precise enough notifications feed. Can easily file away your stuff in folders or add commission info or whatever. The fluff that is there is easily ignored, much like 99% furry art. Much like 4chan the site doesn't have this weird priority of being so hip it gives you an aneurysm.

The best way to stop being indifferent about Lego is making sets yourself. Making up the lore and constantly improving on your builds. If you can't or don't want to moc (?) try tracking down older sets from your childhood for nostalgia value.

Ship in a bottle is kind of lame though, unless that means they'll rerelease more of those curved glass pieces
Though I only wanted the diner myself, I still wish that they would make a separate ideas thing for licensed projects, they muscle out really cool sets
>>
>>6461567
Well they did recently introduce the rule that you can't submit ideas with licenses Lego already has rights to. So marvel and star wars will never be seen again. That was before this review session began though.

I know, but imo it's not enough
I understand and accept that fans want lego of things they like, but it results in fucking shitty sets (adventure time and Zimbabwe concept comes to mind)
I guess I should see how they police themselves in the porportion of licensed to original sets they release
>>
>>6461778
Big Bang Theory was a lot more comfy of a set than doctor who was. Also whats up with the 'women of ... ' sets? Why not target it for children and encourage both boys and girls into the sciences?
>>
>>6460817
I could personally do without the giant skull, that's just a little too on the nose. But it doesn't ruin it or anything, still a nice model.
>>
Ninjago Movie has some of the best sets of the recent years.

Too bad the movie itself will probably do the worst out of Lego cinematic universe, since it can't suck in normies like Lego Movie or Batman.
>>
>Killer Croc set down to 55€

I don't know what to do. I couldn't care less of Batman, his speeder, or two literally who's, but my god I need that Croc fig. The car is okay too.
>>
>>6455603
>>
>>6461870
You're at least a bit wrong. I've never cared about Ninjago, but it looks like it'll be cute and humorous enough to bring in lots of people who just casually like lego, like people who were attracted to TLM in the first place.
>>
>>6461645
Hmm,the set was 180$ in my country so yeah,I think is worth it.
>>
>>6461645
I live near a third world walmart. I got the super hero highschool for $20. I will have to go back soon and see if they got this
>>
I have never in my life cared of Voltron (it just didn't exist here where I live) but if there's something that I absolutely adore, it's combining robots. Will pick it up absolutely unless it's like 80€+. Ship in bottle is cool and, again, will pick it up unless it's crazy expensive.
>>
>>6461870
Don't underestimate it. It has the power of the two movies behind it, not to mention ninjago is the most popular "story" lego theme ever
Though the movie itself will probably be meh, but I also felt the batman movie was way worse than the majesty of the lego movie
>>
>>6461807
>whats up with the 'women of ... ' sets?
Feminists + no licensing fees.
>>
>>6461807
>>6461914
Now that Voltron was indeed selected, I can't help but feel that Lego chose the women of Nasa just because they neeeded to pick something. It was small, simple and easy to license.
>>
>>6461896
>unless it's like 80€+

Unless they massively scale it down or cut corners it'll easily be at least 150.
>>
>>6461870
>Ninjago Movie has some of the best sets of the recent years.

The Fire Mech is two knee joints away from being one of the most perfect sets ever.
And just to fuck with you the outwards movement of the hips is done through SIX joints.
Might want to see if I can use two of them to add some knees.
>>
>>6461870
I think it'll do alright at the box office - not as well as TLM or TLBM mind, but still alright.

I'm kinda worried about the quality of the actual film though - IMDb has like 12 writers listed for it, and that's never usually a good sign (too many cooks spoil the broth an' all that).
>>
How the fuck are they gonna make this an affordable and structurally stable set?

There are a whole bunch of more "family friendly" faces with the little smirks that don't do it for me. But for every boring print there's a really neat one imo. I love the zombie cheerleader, Dyna-mite, toxikita, the handlebar older crook, Dracula and a whole bunch of others. Especially if you want more girly faces now is the best time for those.
The only gripe i have is that for a while the "angry american" and "smug hero" expressions where a bit too overkill compared to other imho more fun expressions. They were mostly licensed fleshies though, since i don't collect those i honestly can't complain.
We need more sleepy, hyperactive, sad, confused and constanza faces.

I have a pretty good collection of faces i like from all eras of minifigs. They exist, but seem to be more scarce compared to happy & conflict.
Also sometimes it just kinda baffles me when a head has a doublesided print where both faces are hardly any different. The nexo guards for example had two faces where you really had to squint to spot the difference.

Looking through heads by trying broad search-terms will generally help you on your way for looking for a specific emotion or character-trait.
>>
>>6462263

Had a really rough day at work yesterday and went to the toystore after for some brick therapy. I was hoping to find the TLNM CMFs, but they didn't have them. They DID have a couple copies of this, and I snagged one mostly on impulse (my local toy shop is pretty small and doesn't get new sets too frequently).

While I was checking out I asked about the new CMFs and the cashier said they had a couple big boxes of Lego in the back that will be out for sale starting next week, but she wasn't sure what was in them. I've never not opened a set right away before, but I can't help but feel there might be something there next week that I would want more than this. City Chase has lots of stickers, minifigs that I will hopefully be getting nicer CMF versions of soon, and a fucking cop. Should I trade it in?

Pieces required for it are in pic related. Blue circles are what you need to get external to the set, either the set doesnt have enough or none at all. Green is corrections, the guy who made the instructions misread the shades of grey and one piece, but he was working from a build video, so he shouldn't be blamed.

I made some additional mods which I'll get some pictures of up in a little bit, or maybe tomorrow. They make it a little nicer, IMO.

Meanwhile the old Titan XP has no issues despite being just as big and having knee joints (although its legs are also chunkier and the joints are rather limited).

Oh well, I'll just assume that the lack of knees is due to Lego figures not having any, either.

>lack of knees is due to Lego figures not having any
I thought of that last night. Maybe that's why they don't put knees in their mechs.

I mostly build small sets. I don't display them, so they end up in ziptop bags before I take them apart. Those parts are mostly in ziptop bags also. The one set I have on display is just sitting on top of my dresser next to a few beer flats with Lego stuff in disrepair. I'm pretty sure that wasn't what you were hoping to hear.
>>
>>6465396
>Where do /lg/ keep their legos

I have five of these that are full of Ziploc bags of pieces, sorted by type. These Sterilite drawers are great because they're modular, so I actually only have three units (which takes up less floor space), but they're each 5 drawers high. You can stack attach them as high as you want just by popping the top off and snapping another layer onto it.

One of sections is actually two drawers that are half as tall as a regular drawer, which is where I keep my loose minifigs.

At $15 each and 100 bags for less than $5, it's a cheap way to store stuff. Plus, when I need to use my Lego room for something else, I can just roll everything into the closet and the room is empty.

I bought some draws at a market one time and put this figure in them. Draws belonged to a Craig, the mini got named craig and became a meme. I dont know why but I love that its still a thing.

Guess where the CMF polybags, one off con exclusives and other special figs (and baseplates) are made, friend.

Ever notice how the plastic on them feels a little bit...off? Sometimes loose?

Yeah.

Also one on the right isnt chink shit. 3rd party printed on actual lego.

I've always wanted to make a microscale future city. The buildings look good, but the landscape should be more interesting. The city could be on a floating island or asteroid. Maybe have the city above water with bridges connecting everything. On expanding it, add a suburban cyberpunk area, and- of course- a monorail.
