With the new release of X-Men waves, what mutants would you like to see released?
>>
I would love a rockslide baf
>>
Madrox, Reaper, Wildside, Sunspot, Wildchild
>>
I would love to see an X-Factor wave with a Strong Guy BAF, especially after we've gotten Havok, Polaris, and Shatterstar recently. Madrox and Wolfsbane would be the obvious choices, and probably a new Longshot, too. Round it out with some big name characters (maybe Legion, he was with the team during the Muir Island saga and he's got a popular tv show) and you have a wave that could fill a lot of empty holes and still sell.
>>
I want an Inhumans wave or two sometime so I can get some nice stuff like Karnak or Quake or Flint or Mosaic or Lineage or Iso or I dunno whatever

I don't think the Rocket SHF looks as bad as some people are saying, but I really don't see any real reason to get it over the Marvel Legends version. Same with Star Lord. At this point, unless there's a Figuarts Mantis, and let's be real there won't, I think I can safely say the Figuarts Guardians are totally skippable and I'll just get the MLs instead.

The MU and other 3.75" lines were great at making great toys of obscure characters and alternate costumes.

6" really can't compete.
This was Hasbro's high point with the Marvel lines. They were releasing dozens of brand new molds, improving on articulation, good spot on paint apps, and a variety of popular to obscure characters every single quarter.

Even Toy Biz's ML output was weak compared to Hasbro's 2008-2012 era. Only Toy Biz's 90s lines outproduced this era's selection of characters and brand new molds.

6" scale is a mistake.
>>
>>6292734
It's not a custom head, it's from the ToyBiz Apocalypse series astonishing Wolverine variant figure. Oddly the series 6 head works on the astonishing body pretty well. I got the claws from a dude on FB that makes them and sells a dozen for $7.

A sculptor's style is really noticeable and practically all of Toy Biz's MLs had that hyper realistic look.

What's the best BAF wave? Looking to start collecting legends figures
>>
>>6294381
The best BAF or the best wave of figures regardless of BAF?

My own favorite BAF is probably Hulkbuster because it's big, decently articulated, and fun. Favorite wave of figures minus the BAF would probably be the Spider-man Hobgoblin wave.
>>
>>6294381
What are you into? Spiderman? Xmen? Dr Strange? Avengers?

I dunno what you mean about "best;" the Hasbro Marvel Legends line is fairly consistent. It's rare you find a figure with an especially bad paint job, sculpt or articulation, although some are definitely better than others. The problem with some the X-Men lines in particular is there are one or two figures in each line which you are going to have to shell out two or three times the FMV for ($40-60) in order to complete the BAF. I have all the Juggernaut line except brown and yellow Wolverine, who is now listed at about $65 on Amazon third party sellers. Maybe you could find better prices on a used fig on eBay, but I prefer new figures.

Most of the Spider-Man line figs seems reasonably priced on Amazon and the Dr. Strange line figs are a steal. If you're into GotG, most of those figures should be on store shelves where you live for $20 a pop.

This is all the Hasbro lines since BAF, I think:

Not sure if anyone's pointed this out before, but, Deadpool's boxing glove plugs in pretty well into Ult. Spider-Man's arm and I assume the same would go for the new 2-pack.

>>
>>6295729
Honestly, since the mold is so much more lithe the lack of butterfly joints really doesn't hinder it as much you'd think it should. The arms really have just about as much forward range as the Pizza Spidey mold's butterfly joints give it, and since there's no butterfly joint the arms can go to his sides much more naturally
>>
I just got the onslaught wave cap and its the first cap I've had that has the shield with the hinge with either the clip or the peg.

Is the whole hinge assemble supposed to be able to pop out of the shield?
>>
>>6295998
The more I look at it, the more I think it actually does have neck movement
>>
Is there a reason why the Right arm of BAF Groot is so expensive? The only one on eBay is $13
>>
Oh shit, apparently moon knight has the taskmaster/old man logan ankles.
>>
>>6296142
Yeah I think it does, there's what looks like a hinge joint in there, it's just some sort of optical illusion making the ball peg look like it's attached directly to the top of the neck I think
>>
>>6296180

This is completely random, but I had no idea the mezco figures were in 6 inch scale, I just assumed they were 12 inch. Fuck I may have to check some of these out if the price isn't too rapey.
>>

They're not. They're big 1/12's.

I found a Deadpool at toys r us this weekend, weren't supposed to put it out yet but they always break street dates for some reason. It was $49, but I notice these other ones are like $25 like you said, do they all drop down like that or with Deadpool do you think $50 is as low as I'm gonna ever find it

Only the old ones are being clearanced for $25 at Wal-Mart.
>>
>>6296559
I'll be lucky if I can ever find a few certain figs for 50 bucks, honestly, and that's not the new waves.
>>
>>6296568
Ah okay. I was thinking with how the 6" legends Deadpool has stayed at 30 for a while, this one wouldn't go lower than $50 so I got it.

I know I'll be a giant normalfag for this, but it's a really fucking awesome figure. The extra head and accessories are perfect too. I was skeptical of 12" figures, but for real fuck the other Deadpool figures and get this, especially over the 6" legends. For $20 more, it's worth it over that.
>>
>>6296559
True most of the time, but everyone's been saying that about the newest X-Men wave, and I've yet to see Logan, Cyclops or Colossus go for less than $35 for months now. Same goes for the legends Deadpool, Thor, Groot, etc. There's always some that will go down in price eventually but the popular ones seem to never do.

Overall I'd say a 7 outta 10 for me. Pretty cool. I can't confirm because I dont have him yet but I think he's just reused Moon Knight sculpt though. So they got 2 out of 1 new sculpt torso? But since hes the first one I got, he's an original sculpt...and Moon Knight reused HIM!

From the pictures I've seen, both him and Moon Knight have new sculpts. Tombstone as well I think?

I'm confident space venom wave doesnt exist. Those figures never touched a single retail store in my neck of the woods in New York in a 50 mile radius. I know. I've looked. I just want Electro... Maybe Hobgob.

An optic blast for the new cyclops is probably at the top of my list. And I know there aren't really any good magnetos, but a magnetism effect would be slick as hell. Toss some hotglue over some iron filings or something, I don't know.

This is actually on the shortlist. I'm trying to find cable so I can size it. I can either make one that goes under his brow, or over the whole socket like the one in your pic.
>>
>>6297845
do you just need the head or the whole figure?
>>
>>6297792
How flexible could you make a sword slash effect? I'm thinking of shatterstar in particular, but I'd 100% pick a couple up if they could fit onto other swords.
>>
>>6297849
Just the head really, but I'll likely have one on hand by tomorrow night. He's a pegwarmer here from the last xmen wave. I just have to find out which targets still have that wave.

>>6297850
flexible as in fits a wide range of swords? that's not super difficult, but straight swords would be the most easily adaptable ones for that. Length would be the only issue then. I may soon try making simple sword slashes, really simple ones, then see where I can go from there.

It's a much easier problem than muzzle flashes by far. People ask for those a lot but there's NOTHING to attach them to and way too much variance in gun sizes and designs.
>>
>>6297859
ok. I think I have an extra head floatin around somewhere but if you've got a line on the figure no worries.

Nothing too fancy, just pliable enough that it could be jammed on swords of different thickness. Taking a look through what I have, most of them are straight anyway, and I know it'd be impossible to do something that could work with different curves.

>People ask for those a lot but there's NOTHING to attach them to
I get you, but I'd still bite on some sci-fi/star wars themed ones 'cuase blu-tack makes that shit trivial. I've stuck your ricochet effects on plenty of stuff that didn't have room for the magnets. I'm using iron man stuff a lot now, but that always looks a little off.
>>
>>6297924
Ah, used like that I could make stuff like that in no time. Particularly if they just need effectively a 2d flash like that.

I've tried making some 3d sculpted ones for guns for use with blu tac, but the weight was unmanageable unless you used a larger amount of blu tack to where it would have to come out one side of the flash and be hidden for a photo. People don't seem to mind that as much as they used to, so I may just revisit it and let people work it out for themselves.
>>
>>6296102
I get that reference
>>
>>6297672
This might actually be kinda cool with a little bit of dark wash to bring out the lines under his eyes. Could be used for somber brooding poses (or just straight up sleeping).

>12 inch Sentinel

Manlet
>>
>>6298015
hey if we can get bigger thats fine but the minimum should be 12 inches.

while I won't argue the quality of the figures, they are really wasting the 12 inch line with regular characters instead of sticking with large characters like, Giant Man, Sentinel, Galactus etc.
>>
>>6298018
CAn you imagine how well the 12 inch line would sell if they made actual large characters to go with legends? They probably wouldn't be shelf warming everywhere.

>>
>>6298018
>>6298022
Y'know those huge Darth Vader and Storm Trooper figures? If they made some sentinels or a galactus in that scale, I'd probably buy one just for the display value, regardless of the limited articulation.
>>
>>6298018
>>6298022
I really wish instead of a shitty 12-inch legends line we just had a general line of deluxe Legends for stuff that can't work as a modern BAF or single carded release in the current packaging.

Enormous guys like Sentinels, Giant-Man, Galactus, or guys that need a large accessory, like Spirits of Vengeance who need vehicles. I'd buy the shit out of a Robbie Reyes figure that came with the Hell Charger.
>>
>>6298045
They made a huge tie fighter for black series stuff, but it bombed so they probably got scared off the idea.

Ignoring of course that the tie fighter was RIDICULOUSLY CUMBERSOME AND NOT FEASIBLE TO STORE OR DISPLAY.

I'd buy sentinels and galactus and stuff like that for sure. It would be a no brainer.

Moon Knight looks so good. I want him so badly.
>>

When are they just going to make a Peter figure? They could have him in street clothes, then probably use that mold again for Tony, Matt Murdock, etc...
>>

It looks like hes wearing crocs.

I've only had him out of the box for like 30 minutes, but he's a contender for legends of the year so far.

>cape is a very soft plastic, but is still a little unwieldly because of how huge it is. the hood feels like the same material
>ankles do have that dedicated swivel/rotation, and pretty great up/down range
>shoulders are tight as fuck and I'm not really messing with them until I get a chance to heat everything up
>knees are... rubbery? definitely not gotg 1 wave levels, but certainly not stiff. he stands up fine though
>his hips start kicking out to the side pretty fast as they go forward
>the mini moon-arangs are hard as hell to get into the sockets on his fists and I'm probably gonna lose these fuckers within a week
>HOLY SHIT HIS GRIPPING HANDS HAVE THE HINGE AT THE PROPER ANGLE TO ACTUALLY POINT HIS WEAPONS HASBRO IS LEARNING
>>
>>6299131
They gave him his current costume, I'm not sure what the problem is. There's already been a "classic" Moon Knight.
>>
>>6298853
Hasbro's been using more standard pegs for hands lately, which the ANAD Spidey has and I assume they're the same pegs Raft Spidey uses, since Pizza Spidey's hands didn't work with Raft Spidey.

Assuming the reds on both figures aren't wildly different it should work fine.
>>
>>6299020

I wonder if they'll do short hair or long hair on Movie Thor.

I also remember hearing rumors of a classic comic Thor/Hulk store exclusive 2-pack.

I just got into sentinel with their Iron patriot figure. He's really an AWESOME figure. I bought war machine today. Thinking of getting either the black and gold armor or the shape changing armor.
>>
>>6299151
Is the cape separate from the hood?
>>
>>6299281
The cape and little neck scarf are one piece, the hood is separate and glued to the head.
>>
>>6299151
>he's a contender for legends of the year so far.
Um...why tho? Most of what you said about him seems to range from mediocre to bad, with a few good points peppered in here and there.

YEah, I have faith in select for this hulk. They love doing hulk and their big characters are always great.

On another note, do any of you know what armor tony wore in the planet hulk story?
>>
Who does Moon Knight usually team up with? (Spidey? Strange?) I usually like pairing my heroes in teams. Also, is Valkrie / Angela a good team-up?
>>
>>6299514
He doesn't usually do team-ups now-a-days.
Back in his early days it was people like Shang-Chi, he was thrown around with other C-D listers, irrc.
Bendis picked him up and had him make Captain America, Wolverine and Spider-Man personas and he chilled with the Avengers for a while until Bendis stopped writing him.
>>
>>6299514
he would like to team up with daredevil, iron fist, and luke cage more than anybody else I can think of
He was also on the secret avengers with steve rodgers, valkyrie, beast, nova, and someone else I think
>>
>>6297828
Yes, please.

Deadpool will likely get snapped up fast, unless Walmart gets like 15/store. These things were in Walmarts, Gamestops, and TRU in my area. Never Target.

I wound up picking up the other two from the first series today. They kinda really suck. Neither Cap or IM can get past 90 degrees at the elbow. Neither have toe articulation (I know, old news, I should have read some reviews) which is actually a big problem for them both. Iron Man can't lift his legs past like 2 degrees. Cap's shoulder articulation is such that he's got a separate sliding disc (holding the pads on) that gets caught by the shoulder socket, making it terrifyingly difficult to have to unstick to move the shoulders up and down (Spider-Man's shoulder-to-bicep swivel is also a little scary and I think they could break pretty easily). Iron Man's plastic is also so cheap that it's translucent throughout his torso.

None of the hands or heads are exactly interchangeable between figures, either.

I'm keeping Spider-Man, but returning the others. Deadpool should be worth the money since he's build on the Spider-Man body.
>>
>>6301140
shame, that iron man looks cool
>>
>>6301154
It had potential. And it could be great, but not without heavy mods to the pelvis and thighs to free up movement, and maybe a repaint. If you really need to have a 12" Legends Iron Man, go after the old Toy Biz Icons one. It was great. Otherwise, maybe spring for a Hot Toys.

Discussion points:

1. Why does the Bluefin release of the S.H.Figuarts Star Road cost more than the p-bandai version yet has the exact same accessories?

2. Where is the Bluefin version of the S.H.Figuarts Rocket Raccoon?

3. Why would they think it's okay to import one figure but not the other?

4. Why didn't they package both Star Road and Rocket Raccoon together as the Bluefin release at a fair price of $99.99

5. Why don't they just release the figures anyway? What is Hasbro going to do about it? Why can't Disney pull some strings? It makes no sense, same with the embargo on Star Wars model kits

>ONE, NOTHING WRONG WITH ME starts playing
>>
>>6303042
1. It comes with these blast effects that the Japanese release doesn't.

2. They probably haven't figured out what kind of effect to include with it.

3. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

4. They don't want to charge fair prices

5. Contracts, I guess. Disney doesn't want to open themselves to lawsuits.
