I'm hoping they do the effects and are just holding back on revealing it all during WF. At the very least have his holsters hold the steel balls, have hands with pegs and a set of steel balls to place them in so we can pose him about to throw them in-hand.

He is on the rare side seeing he's marked "limited edition" but set your budget to at least 7k. Also use Figinstock and mark out listings he was sold in so you get notified if someone or a store stocks up.

Otherwise go on YAJ with a proxy and get lucky since a "decent" price will vary.

I would honestly say get all 3, then pose WF towards the front, 1st in the middle and Blue in the back for a progressive color and movement display.

But I'm sure most people will tell you to go with 1st because it's a genuinely better color than the WF and the blue one will automatically be met with criticisms about how it's not red and therefore the worst.

As a relatively new collector, has Medicos always been this slow with new releases and this bad about rereleasing alternate colors? I've heard people say Medicos doesn't rerelease anything but 1st colors, but according to MFC, Jotaro 2nd got a rerelease.

You started at a pretty bad time. Back then it was a nice balance of new and reissue as filler between stuff. Now the anime has made even finding older and specific releases much harder and more expensive in certain cases.

They have an unwritten rule on reissues, never do 2nd and 3rds and always reissue 1sts. Even if the 2nd and 3rds are the popular sellers. Jotaro 2nd is really the only exception to that case and I think that was due to Medicos throwing in the Jotaro 1.5 head to compensate the original Jotaro 1st owners but I could be mis-remembering.

All of this surrounds the JJBA line of course. Drifters has 2 more incoming with Oda Nobunaga coming next month with RWBY following suit this year probably.

So unless Medicos expands to more non-JJBA characters and series it's a really slow trickle of new stuff or stuff people here don't want.

I wonder why Medicos went with two different shades of blue for Giorno second and WF. Considering they based WF GER off this piece where Gio is yellow and WF GE of a piece where he's in orange.
I really wish we saw a brighter Giorno, he'd look great with the rest of the line, be it his team or the other Jojos. Do you think there is still a chance? Any recolors you'd like to see but have given up hope on?

My theory is Medicos has a dartboard of pages from various artworks and covers and takes shots on which gets a release. There's not always a rhyme or reason on why certain colors get chosen, modified, or left behind even though other characters in the same page would make for an easy 2nd, 3rd, WF, or Limited Edition colorway. The last real suprise I got from Medicos was WF Johnathan purely due to the choice of the stripe patterns from an artwork versus a pure recolor.

It's very awkward and time-consuming to set up and it requires base plates that are somewhat hard/expensive to come by.

I've done it for my part 4 display several times and I honestly detest doing it; primarily because I can never seem to get it quite right and there's always just barely not enough space for one fig to fit and I have to awkwardly reposition the arms around to make it work and end up fucking it up even worse.

You need amazing planning or Godlike patience to set this shit up right.

Yeah, I hope to try and do this for the part 4 figures as well when It manage to get my hands on them all. When I set one of my figma sets up in a similar way, I think it spent around 4 days on and off just tweaking their poses and planning out how to best put the arms and such. I quite enjoyed it, but with the exception of one of the figures, they were all smaller than the SAS line, so I can imagine the difficulties of doing a display like that for them.

To me it just seems worth it when it's all finished, though, I've just never been a big fan of when you see people's collections of the characters all standing apart from each other in pretty static looking poses. I mean, I have quite a few figures displayed like that as well, but it just looks so much cooler to have them in a group display when you can manage it.

Honestly, having owned every one except the basic yellow color I all-around prefer the regular DIO.

Awakened just has less accessories and less poses available as a result, his shoulders are basically non-existent, some have a gapping issue in their backs that leads to a gaping hole and less forward ab movement as a result, and on top of that his most iconic accessory is the road roller which is fucking paper that you have to put together yourself and either need the DVD that only comes with the 2nd one and decent paper or have to pony up $30+ for the set which is hard to find.

As much as I don't want DIO to be the next Rohan, I would love a shadow version or the part 6 costume to better go with Pucci. I can't stand how much of a manlet DIO looks next to the other villains.

So Im a little confused. Is the Data DVD just so you can print out a Road Roller on your own card stock or something?

Then what about the Medicos Road Roller? Is that just printed on really nice paper or something? Do I need the DVD for instructions?

I ask because in the lot I won the only thing not include is the Data DVD with Awakened Dio 2nd

What are the BIG's supposed to be? Are they updated 6 inch figures? 12 inch?

I was thinking of adding a few holes to my display stands. What do you think of that? Alternatively, do you think it would be easier to just buy some sas-peg-compatible bases? I can't seem to find any and the 6-hole bases pop up on mandy only once every thousand years.

The square stand is included with all the SAS Kinnikuman figures, I believe.

There's also the 3-hole bases that can fit together to make a 6-hole base. That and the smaller stand that comes with Koichi is what I used to make the part 4 display and I highly recommend against it because it's very limited and you have to meticulously balance everything because the base plate will tip if the weight is off.

Here's a pic I just took of my current setup so you can see what a shitstorm of display arms it is inside. I hadn't touched my display in so long I totally forgot CD was just kind of resting in the middle because I couldn't maneuver an arm to support him.

I'd say put Bruno's gang vs Diavolo at the top and divide the rest between the other shelfs.
Maybe have Pucci and DIO in one with Jotaro and Jolyne and the rest on the one that's left.

I'm not usually a scalefag, but how bad is it between all parts of Jojo? I only have Gold Experience right now, and have 7 other stand on the way. I would like to have their respective users but I don't know exactly the difference even thought it's been mentioned a couple of times in this thread alone.

The only part that's truly "bad" is part 3 as everyone is pretty tiny compared to the rest of the parts. Part 1 is kind of Big but considering how they were drawn it kind of works.

part 2 is big, but it's alright, everyone's supposed to be huge
part 1 is the biggest, slightly taller than part 2
part 8 is a weird mix, just slightly taller than part 4 but has the improved proportions of part 5-6 so it scales better with those two.

I just compared Weather report to Joseph 2 and I would say the scale is good on them Pillar men are huge anyways
Part 2, 5, 6, 7(probably ) and 8(though Gappy is a manlet which is wrong, hopefully they fix this and give Johnny that height) are in scale

On other note Weather Report is great he pops in my collection but that's due to having a white background and the majority of my figures are white but still Weather looks great

Do SAS figures come with their own display stands? I can't really find any listing because of how closely related the JJBA term is.

Each one comes with a Plastic Base and Arm, if you buy two figures you can slot the bases together so two arms go into one base, for displaying Stands close to their user.

PB: Speedwagon. Would come with Zeppeli top hat, top hat with blades, cane, two faces (afraid meme and serious glare) and the standard hands. A mini-stand in the stand (I dont know the name) to hold the flying, bladed top hat.

Believe me, it was hard to pick between Speedwagon or Baron Zeppeli.

BT: Lisa Lisa. Two heads, one with glasses, one without. Removable scarf. Standard hands. Meh, I don't have too many ideas here.

SC: Hol Horse w/ Emperor. Standard serious glare / cigarette head. Standard hands. Oingo (or Boingo, I always forget) book.

DiU: Not many side characters have attracted me in DiU to be honest. I probly would pick the chick with the hair stand, since we have so few girls in the line. Standard serious glare, head with screaming face, a hair with special effects to fit in her head, standard hands, bag and such.

Or Fungami with Highway Star. Not many characters attracted me in this arc that haven't been produced yet, as I said.

Vento Aureo: since my favorite minor antagonist has been made (Prosciutto), I believe I would pick probly the stand of White Album Gently Weeps. There are SEVERAL cool characters in VA, such as Doppio or Risotto Nero. But White Album Gently Weeps is my pick choice.

Two toys - one with his normal clothes, hands and shit and one figure with his ice armor.

SO: Standard choice. FF in Etro body. Two faces (standard glare and screaming), hands and her finger pistol. Acessories probly a walkie talkie or a stand disc.

SBR: Soundman with his stand, Valentine with his stand, Wekapipo, Magenta Magenta... its difficult to pick only one character. Because I love all! I pass this one. But probly I would pick Soundman. His In a Silent Way is my favorite design of stand.

JL: Yasuho or Joubin. Both with their stands as separate toys. Yasuho would have normal face and screaming face. Joubin would have standard face, an angry face and a serious glare face WITHOUT an eyebrow.

Things were always gradually climbing in prices due to manufacturing costs, and of course the circular logic of less people buying thing --> raise up MSRP to cover lost profits --> even less people buy thing --> etc.

We've hit that point a while back where figures are becoming just too expensive, and very small companies like Medicos gets hit the most from it. I've definitely seen threads on 2chan about people bitching about the costs of this hobby now, and how they can't buy as much as they used to.
