Good eyes.

i feel like i'm the only one that loves colossus but hates his classic costume. i love his modern costume so i am stoked on this figure
>>
>>6176467
does this mean he is select size? so that's still a good option, also classic costume
>>
>>6176484
I honestly kinda wish someone would do his look from the deadpool movie.
>>
Apparently Hot Toys is doing a Ghost Rider figure from the TV show.
>>
>>6176494
yeah i'm with you anon. i thought that was a good costume as well. i actually really liked how the metal on his body looked in deadpool
>>
>>6176484
I have the marvel select of his classic costume, so I don't need another one. I like this costume a lot, though. He looks cool.

I've somehow managed to not get the select colossus in 3 years of marvel shit, so this'll work just fine. I don't really care about the costume, and the bearded head is fucking aces. I might see if I can take those gauntlets off though, hopefully there's a slim chance that his arms are painted under them.

>>6176513
I've seen a custom of it, and it works really well in toy form. I'm thinking it's possible too, considering recent non-classic costumes like colossus and cable.
>>
>>6176607
Are these confirmed? I heard Thor may be the Jane Foster Thor. Also I hope Enchantress was a mistake. I'd rather Black Valkyrie.
>>
>>6176645
Not really, but it's pretty plausible as far as leaks go. Just from the names I think jane foster is likely, because otherwise they wouldn't specify a presumably comic thor as odinson. It also feels like they're trying to complete teams, and she'd be the last one for the ANAD avengers.

I'm not sure what the hell is up with enchantress, honestly. My first thought was that it was a movie design, but then why would movie thor specify that but not her? There's no way the same figure gets released twice within a year, so something's up.

It's really hard to tell from the pics. If they're separate pieces from the forearms, the guy was really careful to keep them in the same position through his shoot. The silver part does seem to either be really well-painted where it meets the red, so separate pieces seems likely.
>>
>>6176617
yeah that bearded head is a neat accessory
>>
>>6176484
ideally, i would have liked a classic colossus. that being said, this design is ok, but give him 2 fists, c'mon.
>>
>>6176497
That's because Deadpool's the only movie where it's really looked right. Every Colossus appearance up until that was either complete garbage or just not quite there yet. Deadpool nailed it.

>>6176660
It could still be a movie Enchantress. It might have mentioned that it was a Movie Thor but not a movie Enchantress because there are technically three Thors in the wave, but only one Enchantress so there was no need to clarify that.
>>
>>6176819
yeah i really don't like when figures have 1 fist and 1 open hand.

>>

There's been no indication that Enchantress is in the movie though. Hela and Executioner are in the movie so those figures could be movie versions.

>>

Yeah Cap, IM, Tony, BW, and Ant-Man are SH Figuarts. Spider-Man and Thor are Figma. Hulk is Marvel Select. War Machine is 6 inch movie figure from 2008. The rest are Legends

With her being a major player in Logan, hopefully we'll get a comic figure soon.
>>
>>6176907
They did a magneto recently enough (jubilee wave) that they probably won't touch him for a few years.

X-23 is inevitable, I just hope it's a costume we like.
>>
>>6176912
Thanks!
>>
>>6176467
>Marvel Knights 6" Legends Assorted Case
>8 piece case. Daredevil, Punisher, Elektra, Jessica Jones, Blade, Bullseye

What are the odds that the Elektra and JJ in this wave are from the comics? I'd much prefer the comics versions to the Netflix versions.

Thankfully Bullseye hasn't been featured yet so I know he's safe.
>>
>>6176983
None for Jessica. They showed the Netflix figure last year.
>>
>>6176983
None at all for Jess, Elektra is 50/50.
On one hand, it's been around a year or so since her Netflix self debuted, on the other, she didn't have much of a costume until the last episode or two
>>
>>6176983
What are the odds that there's 2 daredevils and 2 punishers, instead of 2 elektras and 2 JJs?
>>
>>6177064
>hasbro double-packing female legends
the odds are very high that there will be two dds and 2 punishers
>>
>>6176467
>>6176617
That's fucking clean. I don't give a fuck about the costume I just love a beautiful mug, and this has 2
>>
>>6176946
Well that's impossible because I want All-New Wolverine
>>
>>6176856
It'd be weird if they did an Odinson and Odinson Thor in the same wave when we're overdue a Lady Thor
>>
>>6177132
It'd be pretty funny, though.
>>
>>6176645

they do placeholder names for SKUs a lot. I mean 80% could be true, but something could be altered by release too. I remember Wonder Man and Shocker showed up in earlier SKUs.

>>

hasbro has sort of referenced how they're aware of the demand for storm, magneto and jubilee in the face of the exclusive wave not being accessible to people. I actually expect we'll see one of those three soon. Thing is, they'll do different costumes. I doubt they'll touch classic magneto again for a long time.

>>

It kinda looks like it might be an adaptation of the Ultimate hammer, or something similar (maybe a Beta Ray type hammer).
As much as I love the axe, I'd hope we get a proper MCU Thor that's not in a boxset and shit instead. Though, I wouldn't mind as much if it leads to a new Legends of Ult. Thor.
>>
>>6177129

It might be the angle of the picture, but in person it looks perfect.

The other Mezcos I have are Dredd, Cursed Earth Dredd, and the sideways DD I posted earlier (I have no idea how to get that shit corrected - sorry)

I'm curious if BVS Batman is of the same quality as DD and Frank. the Dredds can barely fucking move
>>

This is the first time I've seen this wave in this godforsaken area. I had to pay $25 instead of the regular price which sucks but I doubt I'll be seeing this wave around anywhere else for a long time. Or maybe I will since the Wal-Mart around here FINALLY decided to move the Odin, movie Ultron and bizarrely enough the Dormammu waves to the clearance aisle.

They also had Jackal and Spider-UK but alas I only had enough for one and I imagine those two will be easier to find down the line than Kamala.

Agreed. Mezco went all out for Frank. There a bunch of little things about him that really make him a top notch figure. Be it the detachable magazines from the guns, the cloth clothing, which fits him perfectly IMO, the removable plate carrier, or the nice effect peice and amazing looking heads. Like honestly the head scuplts are astounding. Hot toys quality. I have DKR Batman and while I love him and his head sculpt it doesn't do the sculpting team justice. Frank really makes me want to pick up other figures in this line. Some really do look meh like Deadpool. But Cap and Daredevil look awesome.

As a whole, yeah, Hasbro Legends are better. They're much more consistent with quality than Toy-Biz was. You know what I miss though? The paint. Like, look at Deathlok here. Some parts are matte coated. It doesn't show well in this photo, but the red is a metallic, almost candy-coat-ish red. There is black accenting in the grooves on his torso. There's a light black wash and drybrushing over his silver parts. It's a really impressive figure in terms of how many different techniques are in use.

I know it wasn't all perfect. Sometimes Toy-Biz paint would be thick and sloppy, and sometimes it led to chipping during play. But man, when they got it right, it looked phenomenal.

The shelves said they were discounted to around 15 to 19 bucks. I can't remember the exact number, my memory is ass and it's been a few days since I was last in there.

It looks like the Dormammu wave was less discounted than the others, that is if my memory is correct. I might be tempted to buy that wave just for Dormammu, but even then I've already got the only one I really wanted. Even discounted, I really don't want to buy milk Strange and movie Mordo. I don't know if I'd even take them for free.

>Hasbro has god tier sculptors. They produce some of the best likenesses in the industry.

eyy you don't really want to go too far. Maybe the particular sculptor for the GOTG line was great, but their usual sculpt weren't that great.

Even just last year they had movie cap who looks nothing like Chris Evan using 2-3 years old body mold reuse, movie Iron Man who barely looks like Robert Downey in the 3 pack with Spiderman, practically two of the most famous and visible marvel movie line superheroes, not to mention atrocious declining quality of the Black series and Rogue one figures.

I'm not saying it's all bad, movie Dr. Strange head sculpt, movie Scarlet Witch, and movie Bucky all are great
>>
>>6180047
I'm not a fan of them using Gentle Giant, who doesn't have the best of skill with likenesses, but I think Hasbro always had problems with Carrie and Hamil anyway.

Other actors though? God tier.

I'm very happy to see them spending more money on paint apps http://i.4cdn.org/toy/1486911445105.jpg , because their eyes have been shit for years now. Otherwise, plain plastic flesh colored faces never bothered me, because any shadowing always made the exact facial structure stand out showing the outstanding likenesses.

found all of the Sandman wave in the wild at retail, except for Spider 2099, still hunting, passed him up in the past because I only had enough cash for Green Goblin and Symbiote Spidey.

I'd say my favorite from the wave would be Shocker if they bothered to give him a new effect piece or a reused one that actually made sense.

but thats a specific angle under specific lighting conditions. I'm sure it looks quite a bit better than the left one in hand, but I'm skeptical it would look that good under all angles and lighting. Paint can be used to add the illusion of depth for the sculpt, like the brow, cheeks, and nose, but as soon as you turn it I would imagine that the line work becomes really obvious. You can't just paint depth for a 3d sculpt

Not "new" as in completely different, but it's a new sculpt and paint. Looks like they'll fit in the hands a little better.

>>6180844
I feel like Vance is a surefire for peg-warming, but otherwise it'll probably depend on case ratios. Drax being all but a straight re-release with a worse head puts him in the bin, I'd say, and Star-Lord, if he's double packed or such like last time, might be there too. The rest are likely to be either easy enough to get, or near impossible to find (Angela in particular, though Nova was really hard to get a hold of early on last time, so he might join her in aisle-obscurity for some time)
>>
>>6180857
>>6181029
I feel like Darkhawk will have the "cool" factor going for him, so he'll be the Spidey 2099 of the wave, while Star-Lord may well be the Pizza Spidey: double-packed, but in high demand. Angela will be the Deadpool--gone before cases are put on sale. Yondu is the one that I'm most perplexed by. On one hand, he's a new, unique sculpt of a cool character played by a "badass" actor. On the other, he's a blue guy with a funky arrow. So he could go either way.

I'm starting to regret not pre-ordering the whole case.

Yondu, I think, is new enough figure-wise and had enough of a stand-out role last time to be a bit sought after, he'll likely be the Kitty or Electro of the wave, where he's easy enough to find, but not always readily available. Might shelfwarm in some places more than others, like Targets and shit.
And yeah, I'm with you there, the whole wave ended up looking way better than I expected. Even Angela, someone I wrote off way back when she won the poll, I actually am sorta wanting. Here's hoping they take stores by storm like the first movie did once the marketing really kicks in.

How does that even work really? Say it's an excellent wave, for example the last Xmen wave with one absolute peg warmer shit tier character, i.e. Havok. Deadpools, Wolverines, and Rogues are flying off the shelves while Havok pegwarms. How does Hasbro profit from that? How does retailer profit from that? The concept of one shit lazy figure as sacrificial lamb so that other figures can receive good paint and maybe new tooling doesn't make a whole lot of sense
>>

Hasbro makes their profit when the retailer buys the case. It's the retailers who take the hit on single pegwarmers and they can always clearance it to make room for new waves.

Managed to hit 3 Walgreen's during this morning's commute. They seem to be putting them out 2 at a time, at least in my area. One Walgreen's had no GotG, the other two had Angela, Vance, and 2 Star-Lords between them. I asked if they had more at one of the stores, and the manager said they'd be "getting another shipment tomorrow." With that in mind, all of these stores have a mix of Hulkbuster, yellow DD, Black Ant, and Absorbing Man waves clogging their shelves.

Angela is impressive, but way too busy. I may wind up returning her. Star-Lord is so good that I might get two if he winds up warming the shelves. He's actually got cut joints at the boot and little pegs to hold his guns at his hips. He's two-per case with no BAF part, so who knows how that will play out. Fingers crossed for Yondu and Darkhawk later this week.

I was trying to figure out what I didn't like about her, but yeah, that's it. The colors are all over the place, and the gauntlets and gloves are kind of a clusterfuck in particular. They probably could have dropped the dog leash or whatever the hell that is too.

Here she is with the neck-belt removed, and then with everything else that can be removed without boiling and popping (the right elbow guard, and blades). The problem with Angela's current design is that it's based off of a legacy design by Todd McFarlane, who favors busy designs. So the hair is wild (and doesn't translate well into plastic), she's got clutter all over, she's got bare legs and overly-detailed leggings, she's got big complicated armor on on her arms, a bikini on her body, and she's got those stupid wings on her head. With the sash/sheath, she's got a terrible silhouette, but if that were removed (as well as some hair), she'd probably look great.

Also worth noting: her height is a perfect stairstep between Kitty Pryde and Titania. So she's taller than most other ML female figures, but not in the She-Hulk league. And she appears to be all new molds.

I was wondering what was bothering me so much about this figure, and it just hit me: her head is too big. Plus, the winged headdress plus the height her hair reaches suggests a VERY large, almost Sinestro-esque cranium.

I shrunk her face by around 20%, moved the top of her head down a bit, and cleaned up some of those stray messy tendrils. Looks much better IMO. Too bad this is likely way too intensive to fix in reality. You'd have to recast it with Hydroshrink and do some resculpting by hand as well.

Gotta say, even still I think if you got it posed around on a flight stand it could look really good. I might want to pick her up for the GotG display.
>>
>>6182092
Close. It's the same problem as Valkyrie: the hair is too tall. Angela's head/face is just right, but the sculptor decided that she needed to wear like five Bumpits to offset the overly-large wings on her headdress.

On the plus side, this figure has excellent articulation and range of movement, and if you just turn the neck thing 90 degrees to either side, it actually looks fine. Still, I'm gonna go ahead and return it.

The whole point of BAF is that >>6181487 doesn't happen. The x-men wave is 8 figures, 7 parts, no repeat parts. You need to buy havok to get that leg, that leg does not come with any other toy. So, the idea is, eventually it will sell. It likely will because of that fact. The problem is when they do unpopular characters at 2 OR the part comes with either character. I like the bigger heads that Marvel legends has been using for the last years. They may take some adjusting after the typical superheroic tiny heads, but they look very humanly proportioned.

Depends on the Walmart but I've seen the AllFather wave stuff for $5 (sticker says $5, but the price scan said like $10, they adjusted it at the register though) and most of the Dormammu wave stuff was around $17 with some of the other wave things (everything from Ant Man to Hulkbuster etc) from $15-$16.
>>
>>6182467
I've seen Wasp warming clearance aisles for $15. The Allfather and Thanos stuff has only showed up for $15 if it's heavily damaged, and the Dormammu stuff hasn't been less than the $18.87 base price in my area.

Other Angela anon here. I believe my city somehow just got a single case that was divided out between four stores, 2 figures per store. Found Nova and Drax at a third store this morning, asked and was told they only got the two. So I basically have to locate the store that got Darkhawk and Yondu or wait until more ship.

MS ~ Toy Biz. Toy Biz for better articulation, best buy if you like the style. MS for better sculpt.

Went out at lunch and found Darkhawk at Walgreen's. The cashier said someone else had just called looking for "the purple ones" and that all the stores were only distributed two each.
The Wasps came from TRU, where they were marked as $10.98 each, but rang up at $4.98 each, so I decided to clean them out. I might try sanding one down and repainting it.

Yeah, but do you notice how diverse the waves there are, and how most of the visible non-Groot figures are pegwarmers? I guarantee that Ant-Man wave figure is Wasp.

Darkhawk is pretty rad. Nearly as good as I'd hoped, but better than he should be. The red paint app in his visor is actually one of the strongest points of the figure. It's just flat paint that fades at the edges, but right out of the package the light caught it just right to give the illusion of a back-lit piece of clear plastic.

>>6176467

I have no connection to Darkhawk except I owned a single issue of his comic when I was a kid. But because I was a kid at the time, Darkhawk is now indelibly etched into my mind as a fond nostalgic childhood memory. Part of me feels like this is a terribly dumb reason to want this figure, especially since my budget is tight right now.
