New GOTG selects are up for preorder https://shop.marvel.com/toys/mn/1000208/

STUFF WE ALREADY KNEW ABOUT
Marvel Legends exclusives: comic Black Panther (walmart), single carded Groot BAF (toys r us), and Invisible Woman (walgreens). The typical stolen/sample/early copies of black panther and sue are in the wild for ridiculous prices, look around for images and reviews.
Marvel Legends Titus wave is set for release in mid to late march, the usual places have preorders for cases and singles
SHF War Machine Mk. III is a tamashii web exclusive, and is set for release in march
Bluefin Doctor Strange release is confirmed, and includes a recolored orange flame effect. $85.99 retail, preorders are open now with release at the end of july at the usual places.
SHF Doctor strange is also (?) a tamashii web exclusive. This version looks like it comes with a different green magic effect?

If Moon Knight is real, I really want him to be the pic-related costume. IMO, it's the sleekest he's ever looked.

Are the Guardian figures exclusive to Marvel Shop? Or can we order them elsewhere too?

Apparently Rocket and Gamorra are sold out...goddamnit.

I agree wholeheartedly comrade, very excited for it to use the Spiderman 2099 buck too, fingers crossed

>>6164180
While I do really like that design and would like a figure of it at some point, it's too much of a novelty imo to be his definitive look. We really need an updated default MK figure atm imo considering how outdated the only ones we've gotten so far are now.
>>
>>6164178
should be in disney stores as well

I hope demand ain't too high cause as much as I hate bendis guardians these figures are nice enough to finally get me to build a little marvel select cosmic display
>>
>>6164180
>>6164197
I would prefer Mr. Knight as well. Toss in the bird skull head for Khonshu, and a beat-up Specter head, as well as some alt arms to give him a "jacket removed, sleeves rolled up" look and he'd be amazing.

Since they are releasing Sue as a Walgreens exclusive it makes me wonder how they'll do the rest of the F4.

The agent figure is really good though.

Black Panther IS disappointing with his limited articulation compared to a GI Joe, but it's really well done regardless. Sculpt and paint are ace.... and by ace, i mean, it's really hard to have fucked it up because of how minimal the design is, but it's still ace.
>>
>>6164784
I like both designs for different reasons. This movie's design is a nice take on the character, but I still like the cheesy, spandex design too. A comic Vulture in the Legends scale would be nice imo. Mysterio first, but Vulture eventually.

Just got this guy in the mail.
A lot better articulation than I was expecting, the the lack of ankle rollers is still unfortunate. The sculpt and paint is also not nearly as good as other selects. I think I like the legends figure better purely for sculpt and accessories, but I think the select almost has a better range of movement.
>>
>>6165553

Haha, I actually intended to take it off a couple years ago, but then the monitor died. Luckily I still had like a month left on the warranty, so I was able to ship it to Acer for repair and I figured I might as well leave the plastic on.

I was fully expecting the repair people to either ship me back a refurbished monitor or take the plastic off of mine for repair, but hilariously I got back the same now-fixed monitor with plastic intact (which is where it picked up some dirt, was pretty clean when I sent it over).

Can't bring myself to take it off now after it hung on like a trooper, haha.

Haha, it's all good.

It's a cheapo refurbished Nikon Coolpix S3600. Honestly the camera in my phone is probably better, but it feels nicer taking pics with a proper camera, haha.

I use Irfanview to resize & rotate my pictures, and while I'm at it I sometimes fiddle with the contrast/colors/whatever a bit to make the pics look closer to what I'm seeing in-person.

Thanks for the confirmation on Goblin!

Opinions and all, but absolutely not. The shoulder joints alone are among the most hideous things I've ever seen on an action figure. That's not included the head that looks like a malformed kickball and the horrible eyes.

You can rotate each part of the torso, his and you neglected to try and pose the legs at all. Excuse the knee cut here, i could pose the thigh better to hide it but i just threw this together to imitate the silhouette of this >>6166597

>>6165445
>>6158194
>>6158392
>>6158413

I'm going to give >>6165161 a pass since the pic is set up in such a way that it hides the left shoulder. But from a different angle, it would look atrocious.

Like, how the fuck are people defending this? It's worse than the bulbous-ass shoulders that Toybiz use to use because at least those were connected to the body and not just floating in the air.
>>
>>6166713
Just get a Hot Toys if nigh-invisible joints are what the quality of a figure revolves around for you. I mean i think it's pretty obvious that that is it's biggest weak point (alhough it doesn't bother me) but i think it should be clear that it has it's strengths. It's an extremely poseable figure for an extremely dynamic character.
>>
>>6166720
>nigh-invisible
Not what I'm looking for - just not straight-up dissected. And, again, opinion. That's awesome that you like it, but there's no way it's the "best looking" Spider-man.

I feel like there's a balance between articulation and range of movement and the Revoltech went way over on one without considering the other. People use to give the McFarlane Spider-man shit for the same reason, but I feel like this is even more extreme, but again, for an even more extreme range of motion.
>>
>>6166490
>i don't know how to pose a revo properly.jpg
You barely even tried.
What was the point of buying it?
>>6166720
I guarantee that as soon as the SHF releases they will be raving that is the best Spidey even though it won't do anything Spidey related. Won't even come with a stand because Bandai are cheapskates
>>
>>6166728
meant to say "range of motion and appearance"
>>
>>6166731
>What was the point of buying it?

So you could be a dick to him, apparently.
>>
>>6166728
Oh, I wasn't actually the guy who said it was the "best looking" Spider-Man figure. I totally sympathize with you; i don't think there is a best looking Spider-Man figure though, at least not one who's been afforded the same posability or accessories as the Revoltech or several classic Spideys, which are reasons this Spidey stands on it's own. But imo the Revoltech is a qunitessential Spidey that will go down in the Spidey hall of fame especially with collectors who are partial to the over-the-top style
>>
We need more ML figures with the thicc buck
>>
>>6166713
>Like, how the fuck are people defending this?
Because they like. In their OPINION the positives out weight themail negatives. You don't like it, and that's ok, but it doesnt invalidate thier opunion any more than theirs does yours.

>>
>>6166961
>there's swivel at the bicep and thighs though
Its next to non existent though, and no where near natural movement. On a premium priced figure, and that includes ZERO accessories, I would expect far better. Figuarts cashed in on the movie hype, and people bought it up.
>>
I agree
>>
>>6166984
>natural movement
because we have slices in our arms and thighs so we can rotate them

youre right though, as a premium priced figure they gimped a lot of people. i still prefer it to the ML though who's articulation imo isnt as satisfying as the figuarts aside from the bending at the knees.
>>
>>6166875
That figure is trash get over it kiddo
>>
>>6167014
>because we have slices in our arms and thighs so we can rotate them
We dont have plastic ball joints in our wrist or ankles, or we dont have sliding joints in our shoulders, we dont have double jointed knees or elbows, or we cant turn our heads around 360 degrees. Are you really defending missing articulation by comparing a toy to actual human anatomy?

That's just how it is. You have to use the swivel to bring his leg straight forward at the hips, so the thigh ends up rotated 90 degrees. It's one of the reasons I'm not really a fan of the hips, but eh.
>>
>>6167674
There isn't much you can do about that knee gap

The thigh swivel is diagonally hewn; it has an entirely different purpose from a regular thigh swivel. It's to angle his legs in a bowed stance

Ultron's normal form was cool enough in motion, but still wasn't as cool as his comic appearances. His final form was a big improvement with the mask over his face. His drones were pretty much perfect. It's a shame they insisted on an expressive face since the performances utilizing only Spader's voice and body language of the drones were some of Ultron's best moments.

I'm just pointing out why people are saying it looks bad.

It's unnatural and looks stupid in person, and obviously based on trying to make someone feel better about their disability, as seen with other styles over the generations.

Might as well say no one should complain about the floating limbs either just because it's cartoonish.
And no, it isn't just seen in cartoons either. Sentai shows do the same shit too, albeit less pronounced because of how much it hurts a normal person.

I appreciate the range of motion that it can get, but there's too much about that figure I don't like. The joints are not great looking, the eyes look really weird, I've never liked the sculpted in webs, and it just overall looks too Japanese for me.

It's really one person that seriously causes up a stink whenever the Japanese make a figure of a western character.

Yeah, everybody has their grievances about something on one figure or something on another. One guy though has made his job to monologue about it and sometimes go on ridiculuous tangents.

Really at this point, you're better off doing your own research whenever a purchase decision involves a Japanese-made toy Western character because you're gonna get somebody who won't have any of it regardless.

For a long time it was "Which Batman figure is the best?". That question would come up about 2 or three times a week.
Then it was Darth Vader, then Stormtroopers, and now it seems like Eva units are the go to figure.

They had full 3.75" lines for movies between IM2 up to Capt2, except for Iron man 3 which had this 3" limb-swapping line.

GotG onwards the main toys were small 2.5" figures and playsets.

AoU had 5poa 3.75" figures.

They started making articulated MCU 3.75" from Antman onwards but they are either 2-packs or packed with some large accessory, like those future releases you see above.

It's not so much that they're turning a blind eye to it, it's more like they're just ignorant.
If you haven't noticed, they're not really comic book fans and only care about the most casual ways of the character, such as him "being from MvC" despite that not being the case either.
Same shit went down with the Venom figure, where they were trying to say that he was from Ultimate spiderman, even though that isn't true either.

Casual as fuck views, yet they try their hardest to defend all these little off-brand design choices.

At least i can understand why they like the weirdass engineering at the expense a good sculpt.

Stop blaming your lack of creativity and imagination on toys.
If you hate them that much sell em or give 'em away.
>>
>>6170437
I like my Revoltech unlike that guy but I admit they aren't the most fun to pose. They take work to get looking nice but once you do they look great and often times can do things other figures can't. Then you can either take your photo or put it on display to admire it.

They are by no means "fun" to pose like some figures though. Of course a lot of figures in general aren't all that fun to pose but Revoltech can just get plain obnoxious or painful (if the swivels are too tight) so I get where he's coming from.
>>
>>6170422
I have most all of these aside from the Widow as I bought them when they came out originally, and going from experience they're just kinda okay.
If you're into 3.75" and such, they're not too bad, but came out around the time when the downturn for their smaller line started, so articulation is a bit lacking.
It's the only way of getting a Hasbro Mark 8, I believe, which they revised later with some improvements (double jointed knees and such), but I can't tell if that's the original one, or the later one.
Hulk is the worst figure in the set if only because he'll likely have a gimmick for his arms. I doubt they removed it, but if they did, it might be alright if you don't mind his shortness.
If you've got a good price on it, are into 3.75" and don't mind the shortcomings like lack of waist/main body motion, I'd say go for it, if only because it looks like an easy way to get an Avengers team going.

Yamaguchi Katsuhisa probably just scrounged through google images for pics he liked and blended them all into one stylized look, it's just kind of his thing as a sculptor and artist.
What's wrong with stylisation? Well outside of trying to keep it in one's main marvel display if it really bothers them.
>>
>>6170517
Nothing wrong with stylization, it's the fact that people here straight up didn't know what they were talking about and were trying to defend it as Ultimate Venom despite the design not being of him.
It's just a generic Venom figure that Yamaguchi inserted with his retarded engineering.

>>
>>6170504
Thanks for the input, Anon. Do you mean mark 7 for the iron man? It looks like mark 7 to me, but I may be wrong. I'm just looking for a full set of poseable Avengers. I collect 1/6 and don't I guess you could say "play" with those in the sense of doing extreme poses with them, so I'm just looking for something I can mess with a bit without worrying too much. I can get it for $50 right now, which is around $6 a figure, which I think is pretty good.
>>
>>6170461
I dunno man, If you're getting frustrated or injured by trying trying to pose a figure, you've got some problems.
>>
>>6170352
They are not from any particular comic or game. Just Spider-Man and Venom nothing more nothing less. They never specified anything besides "American Comics" and even that's out of the brand name.

Ignorant about which artist did what? Of course because nobody cares. Compared to all the Japanese culture Western media gets wrong it's nothing.

>>6169717

Really depends on the sculptors.

Just so you know, each comic artist has his own style, but they follow a design (sometimes a house style) that they're always referencing. It's basically the same thing as a model sheet.

Yamaguchi is shit.

Is this an entirely new sculpt? The eyes on >>6171933
are narrower, and they both have the updated chest emblem and new arms compared to the CW sculpt. The legs look the same, but with paint stripes applied to the thighs. Hard to tell if the shins are the same. Looks like the new shoulders are beefier, which hopefully fixes a problem the CW sculpt had with looking weird when the arms were moved all the way in or out. Though >>6171941 looks really weird with the shoulders pushed back like that.
>>6171931

So it is finally confirmed baf is only the wings. That's good cause I don't like the movie Vulture design, and for once don't have to buy a whole wave.

I kind don't need the movie spider-man either, but that home made outfit is cool, so might get that. It's great to only have to buy Beetle, Tombstone, Cosmic Spider-man, and perhaps Dead Meat (but if this is the Vulture then I have no need for it).
>>
>>6171928
Yeesssss, I HOPE there's alternate hands though. Still hope there's a figuarts too, although I doubt it.

>>6171931

>>6171935

>>6171941
>>6171933
Ehhh, I'll probably wait for the figuarts. It looks fine, just not what I personally would want. Those thick sculpted in black lines don't really capture the subtlety of the thin webbing on the movie suit.

>>
>>6170555
7, yeah, I got confused and it's been a while, apologies for the slip.
I'd say go for it, given how old the set is and what you're looking for, it's certainly not a bad set at that price, especially compared to how they treat their 3.75" line later on. They can hit some basic/normal poses, so that fits too, and are a good way of jumpstarting the team in general since that's what you're looking for.
I'd say take the shot if ya haven't already, Anon.

The thanos wave hulk was double packed, so he should be pretty cheap and easy to track down nowadays. He's not greeeeat, but he fits your last two criteria perfectly. Yeah, it is. I bought it with a shf iron man bootleg where the paint and joints were a complete nightmare, but hulk was actually pretty close to what you'd expect from a retail product. The eyes are a little wonky, but the joints are tight and again, 20 bucks.

Really excited to see what the gimmick-eyes are like on this kids mask, I was hoping they'd do something like this.
For 20 bucks though I'm assuming they won't have motors to change them, you probably just push the button and a lense falls down to squint whichever eye you push.
>>
>>6172889
Huh. Then again it does say its chin activated, so I guess opening your mouth will open the eyes? I wonder if that just lets go of the lock and you gotta reset them by hand, or if they actually move based on opening your mouth.
I just really want them to work without having to 'reset' anything manually, the eyes are such a cool idea.

Waiting for my phone to charge, but heres the rundown on frank: He's fucking glorious. He has restricted ab crunch cuz of his vest plate, but he's well articulated, his uniform holds up nicely, and he looks fantastic. From what I can tell, there is nothing on him that is fragile in any sense, at least right now.

My only gripe is his guns don't have slings (which I can forgive), but he also has no holster for the pistol. He has a sheath for his knife on his back, but otherwise thats it. He scales perfectly with other 6" weapons, so if you're a NECA collector, he can wield all their gear just fine. I got the Neca Terminator and Commando figures, so he already has a nice stacked armory.

I still wish he came with a trenchcoat though, but that is Deluxe Frank territory.
