Fuck off to the discord then. Retaining the title for a dead theme is redundant. I want fresh and current lines to be encouraged to be discussed in the general, lest it rots away and everyone still around merges with /lg/. Traffic in the general has been ridiculously slow and it would only benefit it to welcome non bionicle discussion, unlike trying to leech users out of the general for the discord. Keeping the title of /biog/ still gives off the impression that this is primarily meant to be a Bionicle general. It should be meant to be a universal non-system or constraction general though, and this is regardless of how much of it actually is Bionicle discussion. /cong/ or/techg/. /biog/ has run its course.

Are you new here? /biog/ has always been the alternative thread to /lg/'s system focus. People post and discuss many of Lego's licenses and it's one of the faster generals on this board. Bionicle, Technic and CCBS all share MANY non System parts and they've been posted here rather than /lg/ for a long time now, so yeah piling more related shit in these generals will actually help conversations. Technic/CCBS is as universal as it could be. Slizers/G1/Roboriders and standard Technic are all subthemes under the name. CCBS is all HF/G2/SW/Ultrabuilds. Galidor is the only floater but even that I think was under Technic.

I don't know about you guys but even though I'm sad and pissed about all the wasted potential of G2, at least I'm happy to see the mask gimmick gone for good. For me the flimsy connection renders the masks completely useless. I liked it better during 2004-2014 when you could hold onto the mask and twist the head around without it coming off.

Bionicle has been over longer than anyone seems to understand, G2 gave it next to justice but did bring some hype back. We can still be that hub while being called /biog/. You bring up pre G1 technic lines, many people here grew up with slizers and roboriders and they are discussed here too.

idk, these is all a bit of a grey area to me and frankly I don't think /biotech/ gives us any justice as a compromise, changing it to /technic/ will just confuse and alienate people who will then assume /biog/ is kill.

And the 2015 Mata torso style armor add-on, while not as heavily G1-esque as the unity piece, blends in extremely well when used together with old pieces. Personally, I feel like there's no point in keeping the Bionicle name now that the line is dead. I believe technic/CCBS general would be better because a) it establishes us as the "alternate" Lego general, and b) let's face it, the general could use some new people, and keeping it as /biog/ would just alienate people who aren't familiar with the line. We should embrace the change rather than fight it, otherwise we may end up in a situation similar to BZPower where we're essentally a secret club that revolves around namefagging and nostalgia.

Also, I just realized that Bionicle has been both a technic and CCBS line, so in a way a technic/CCBS general would technically (pun intended) still be Bionicle related.

Anyone have any ideas on how to use those old Knights Kingdom ultrabuild masks without using their heads? The metallic and silver ones are easy, but the colored masks/helmets don't have anything besides two tiny nubs that don't seem to connect to anything but those micro holes and bars. (like what you'd find in a minifig's hair)

UtD didn't have an extra mask. Like I said, they were suddenly told in the middle of the wave that there would be no waves and funding, and they'd arleady spent much of the year's budget in new molds. The traps, the masks, the unity piece, creature heads, skeleton, weapon piece, body shell, beast head and shell. They didn't have money left for a new piece and looked at what they had in hand.

Which is also why the mask is gunmetal instead of black and has better blending. The dark parts of the fire aren't black either. They are dark red/orange.
