Manually, Lego assumes you want 80 of each.

I had, let's see...Stealth Hunter, Grand Titan, Fire Vulture, Sentry, Supernova, and Golden Guardian from 2007.

Yeah, after the first year they just didn't feel the same. There was some urgency or something in the first year's storyline that was lost in '07. And '08 had no real story at all.
>>
>>6121369
Thats the sad part.
Lego isnt keen on keeping characters around that arnt the main heros.
On one hand its nice to know next set will have new characters.
But on the other you loose interesting characters.

Its a compromise between villian defeated and story progress and world saving loop with "oh another aaron"

I found out about a product that is basically hydrogen peroxide gel. It's available at beauty supply stores under the name "creme developer" or "creme peroxide". It comes in various sizes and strengths. I went with a 32OZ 20 Volume.

http://www.sallybeauty.com/20-creme-developer/SBS-760120,default,pd.html

Here is a before and after picture. The left is after being covered in the creme, placed in a large ziplock, and left in the sun for about 3 hours.

AND also if you have to use Ctrl+F combination that means the OP-post is a shitty post.

Put a bright lego-related image next time so it will be easier to find a thread without key combination.
Its already second thread when this happens.
Previous was retarded too - i even created a thread asking where did the Lego General go - i thought your lego general was a thread about autistic Bionicle knockoffs.

When i was scrolling i thought this thread is about some cheap chinese toys because of that OP-picture.

Also I changed up Magneto's spacebike a little bit. I'm on the fence about whether or not to keep the trans-red sword stuck to the front (but positioned forward instead of upward).

I'd like to have a place for him to store the sword alongside his seat, but to do that and stick with only the contents of the set, I'll have to take out the carb that's in front of him because the only suitable piece was used for the new shifter.

>What type of light brick
That front just looks like it should have room to mess around in. The newer style 62930 brick with the button on the back should have room to be hidden. If you make the button go into the cab you could press it for headlights. Just a thought. The issue I see is that the headlights would need to be moved so the light could illuminate them from the back.

Fits four minifigs nice and roomily.

The version I had last night had an extra plate that made their heads have to click with the roof plate because I didn't check the dimensions while I was making it. Luckily that section is basically independent of the front and back thirds, so I could just drop everything down a plate and give them a little headroom.

The front is one plate higher than the rear, so it rides in style

The one thing that bugs me is the snot plates on the underside of the back. I love how they look but they're only connected by a single stud so they come loose when I play with it.

Is this a good set?

I really want general Magmar and Flama (the red one-the one in the battle pack is yellow-ish) but damn...this siege machine is way too bulky and not that interesting to me. It would take too much place and i need not so many details from this set.

Only if you want six black Power Miners drill bases and some brown castle turrets. And a cattleplow.

Otherwise you should just bricklink them.

People cry so hard over that. But my experience has been that they tack on an extra $5-$10.

The few extra bucks means that things stay on the shelves longer. It also means they'll have sets when I want them (early and reliably) unlike Targmart.

Worth it.
>>
>>6122312
I have this set, and I would say it's my favorite set out of all the ones I've built, in terms of both building experience and appearance once finished.

It looks fantastic, and it's both eye-catching and very visually pleasant. It looks nice next to other Ninjago sets, but avoids a lot of the screamingly bright colors that plague the line. It should go without saying that it looks great on its own, as well.

It's also a blast to put together. The two side buildings are pure fun, with a lot of neat details and fairly clever techniques. The central tower gets a little repetitive when you're putting in the windows and those roof ridge segments, but I wouldn't say I felt bored building it.

All in all, I'd highly recommend it. Even if you're not a Ninjago fan, it's a very nice, detailed Japanese-styled building that manages to pack in a good number of play features without feeling overly gimmicky.

i get what you're saying about shelf warming being a "good" thing, but disagree about "early and reliably"
they dont really clearance shit, since when it does go on sale, they are just removing the markup.
sure they have more lego area than most stores, which means they can more easily work out stuff when they do have space, but it also means they need more for space that isnt selling

Sure is. When I was a kid, we lived in the middle of nowhere about 40 miles from the nearest K-Mart, so most of my Legoing was acquired through the Shop-At-Home phone number. TLG used to be pretty based about putting out printed parts packs like this, or the street signs pack (also got one of those) that I couldn't get at a retail store.

why has the orange Porsche got a 2x1 studded plate at the hood top but the white one hasn't?
>>
>>6121469
looks noice
>>
>>6124095
Because there isn't a light bley 2x1 tile already in the set, and lego didn't want to increase the number of unique lots for the set by adding one.

I don't actually know, that's just my best guess.

That's a pretty good guess. TLG is pretty thorough about limiting the amount of unique lots in sets. I realized that while putting together my Corner Deli a couple weeks ago.

Yeah, once you start to notice it it's kinda hard to un-notice. Like, even on that same car, it would have more sense to use a light bley 2×4×1 curved slope on the hood, but because the piece isn't used anywhere else in that set in that color, they just used a white one and covered it up with a sticker.

Let's say 459 pieces average around $0.20 a piece for that set. That's $90. Let's add the nice printed stickers and tiles. $10 is generous for that. The customer printed minifigs? Maybe $20.

That brings you to $120 for somebody's MOC. How the fuck do they justify the other $120 of the price tag?

Your basically paying to be lazy. Awesome if you can afford it.

I just picked up the Penguin car set, and while it's a great looking set, the front wheels don't move; the friction on both of the Technic axles is too high, so the wheels don't spin freely. Does anyone else who have that set have the same issue? I think the stops on both axles are rubbing together, creating the friction. Obviously I could replace both axles with one single, much longer one, but I want to know if it's a design flaw, or if it's just me.

Yes.
Axls vehicle isnt bad, it kinda is a fortress. But its still more vehicle than castle.

I wish they would make some castle thing. Not too big, just a wall with a tower. Than connectors. Maybe connect with the fortress.
give them some special thing, like arrow weapon or jet landing thing on top.
Make smaller castle walls with figures for army build.
Perfect.
>>
>>6125539
Yes, cars and stuff always goes. But something like the fortress was nice too. But its just too big and they dont do anything in this kind, besides axl vehicle.
They dont see that small fortresses work. they want big castles and than wonder why it sel slowly, because big = expensive.

>Axls vehicle isnt bad, it kinda is a fortress. But its still more vehicle than castle.
this is EXACTLY the problem i had with both - Nexo Knights and Chima series!
It always goes like this.

1) First wave - amazing ideas and sets (Chima had a gorilla Mech, some other cool stuff, Nexo had moving fortress, Diablo castle, neat figures and mechanical horses)
2) Second Wave - copypasta Vehicles.
Chima was flooded with boring ideas "HEY IT'S VEHICLE BUT THERE IS AN ANIMAL HEAD ON IT :D", and this is exactly what happening with Nexo Knights. A bunch of boring grey blocks with purple pieces on them + they have wheels.

There are so many neat ideas with this theme.

1) A castle that can transform into a Giant Titan Robot
2) Mega rock monster that also is a siege machine that can crush Fortrex
3) A giant flying island that covered with electric bolts - the place where gargoyles live
4) A series of knight-mechs that combine into a giant mech (p-p-power rangeeers!)
5) We already had a mech-horse but THIS time its a big and cool armored battle horse-mech for king to ride!

Fuck that guys!
Let's just make more vehicles!

How i wish Chima would have more animal-based mechs. Like a Rhino-mech with hammers for hands or other cool stuff like that.

So... when lego will stop making ideas and just end up with releasing "A box with a bunch of random details" and a slogan "Build them urself! :^)"?

Its a theme. Some people use it for playing with or modding/displaying. It has to have nice figures/builds by default.

Not the previous anon. But yes, god yes.
I barley had brand new lego until after high school. Just older cousins random bricks and garage sale/thrift store/flea market randomness. It was awesome.

There are always anons lamenting how they can't moc, and even worse, the fags who hate those who can. And on top of that lego used to have alternate builds on set boxes with no instructions.

idk i kinda feel it will be very satisfying when you take this plane off the ground and make "plane sounds" press the button and it will hide its wheels like a real plane.
Its fucking fun for a kid. (and for me)

And then when you making a turbine-sounds and decide to land you press the button - it reveals wheels. So cool.

It still blows my mind and its so much fun.

We always tend to say "well...things noawadays are not the way they used to be" or "Man...nowadays they would never get away with this!".
But nope.
Lego makes a satanic red demons, succubus and a demon with some sort of leather harness.

I so want to build an edgy 80s - Heavy Metal band made with nexo knight devils.
Need more heavy metal-based details, though.
That new Batman-metal minifigure will come handy for this idea.

Basically, almost all of the parts only come in a single color. All the 1x4 plates are dark bley, all the 1x4 tiles are black, things like that. Some of the bricks come in different colors, but by the end of the build you definitely notice how they part out the set to ensure maximum efficiency.
