First for help...

This is my white whale lg. It's a custom set TLG made for Syd for his work on Blade runner. Now I've been trying for years to reverse engineer it but I suck at technic. That said there have been two know reverse engineerings. I have contacted the first and.. it didn't go anywhere.
http://www.djfood.org/syd-meads-lego-blade-runner-spinner-in-detail/

I recently learned about the second and I attempted to reach out but yahoo is a hot mess. (Does anyone know how to get in touch with a user from photostream? I don't yahoo)
https://www.flickr.com/photos/roninsfx/25811931811/in/photostream

So my question is this. Has anyone ever used a service to have a kit designed for them? I know a few exist. I am at a point where I am ready to pay for a set of instructions or digital file.
>>

that second guy has like 6 pictures, I;m sure you can reverse engineer it from that

With in inclusion of baby-boba, obiwan, an astromech that'll more than likely be R4, and a hyperspace ring, it's a safe assumprion that it'll be the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor from episode II. The set will probably look something along the lines of pic related. Assuming this list of leask is even real.

Here's the backstory for my Lego world that I had as a kid and developed as an adult when I'm bored daydreaming.

Blacktron I were originally just an very successful organised group of pirates that took over several systems outer systems (think mafia or Yakuza). They ended up being dismantled by the authoritarian and mass surveillance government faction called the Federation. Despite this, they had lasting impact from the criminal sophisticated network they started that led to other splinter pirate factions forming.

As Blacktron fell into memory, the authoritarian and corruption of the Federation grew and people began to question the authority. This led to the emergence of Blacktron II that took up a white suits to appear less intimidating to civilians. A massive war broke out between Blacktron II and Federation, resulting in both factions to fall.

The Federation was replaced with the Alliance which was less authoritarian and constructed from an agreed alliance between governments of various indepedant systems and planets, including some affiliated to Blacktron. Although this was an ideal arrangement for many, some remnant groups of ex-Blacktron members still lingered, who were more aligned with the principles of Blacktron I and opposed the Alliance. I haven't thought much about Blacktron III yet but their colour scheme is more black, lime green, trans lime green, dark bluish grey with bits of red.

Figure I might as well post my version of space backstory while we're posting them.

>Ancient Ruins were discovered on planet Krysto, a remote planet in the galaxy.
>The 2002 Investigation is launched, which has astronauts exploring and trying to figure out the old but strangely advanced technology of a seemingly long gone race.
>A large gate is discovered hidden away in ruins far away from where most of the other ruins are concentrated.
>Panic breaks loose after the portal suddenly activates and many ships fly through from the other side.
>Two highly advanced factions come through, Futuron and Blacktron II, with Futuron trying to escape.
>Futuron is on the run in the galaxy. Many peaceful factions have reached out to help them, but currently the Futuron survivors are still on the run from Blacktron II, who've apparently had something stolen from them by Futuron, along with having Spyrius and Blacktron I on both their tails, who are after their technology from the future.
>In the meantime, the Exploriens have come across planet Krysto in their search for their ancient and long lost home. Most of their past is a mystery to them and they are trying to figure out why, and they think they may be somehow linked to the ancient race that built the ruins, and the Ice Planet 2002 scientists are willing to help.

Posted this one a while back, but i've been experimenting with colours and prints.
While the duo-tone thing looks pretty good, i'm scouring bricklink now for more red printed pieces to spruce it up a bit with some more sponsors/numbers/stripes/raceyness.
It had a whale-tail with racey number on it, but the typefont ended up triggering my autism
Still not completely sold on the rear wheels tough. The wheelwells are a bit too big now, but i'm having trouble finding wheels that are bigger than the front ones but aren't TOO big AND don't look out of place paired with the front-tires.
I could add some rounded flared fenders to the rear wheelwells to make the wheels fit more snug bug it looks out of placed with the angular wheelwells in the front.

>>6082320
The way the minifig connects is really cool!
It looks pretty good but incredibly unstable if the front-end is just connected by the two studs of that bracket.

yes,
if you're working at a table prepare to drop a lot of parts on the ground though. Sometimes i wonder if it's better for my back to sit at a table and having to search for parts underneath it or to just fuck it and do it on the ground like i used to.

>>6082127
Also redid most of the internals of this.
While everything is already pretty firmly locked into place, i just need to bricklink a 2studs longer plate to make it extra retard-proof. Also gave it the tires from the old beetle setup. The black rims look a lot better on it. But i've always liked the more no-nonsense pragmatic racing look, like turbine wheels covered in soot, so i say this for every car i've built.
Running out of these though and need to use more different ones for variety.

I actually keep tabs on your work anon. I get what you're trying to experiment with but it is pulling away from that minimal/compact boxy feel it had. The lower back though is an improvement, makes it look more balanced. I totally agree with the tyre change on the Yellow one, I think you can add even more character with some greebling detail on the trunk instead of having those two 2x4 slopes.

>>6082397
Don't mind seeing 8-wide trucks at all. Still got an Ultra Agents HQ that I need to disassemble into a transporter when I have the time.

>>6082458
That is too cute. I wish I could stock up on jumpers as 7 wide is a whole other world to me and I think I need to definitely go there to get a satisfactory ae86 build.

>>6082284
That is just dying to be remade as a 4-wide classic!
>>
>>6082443
It already had a very slight forward rake but i tried some things out.

So i ended up lowering the fender by a plate with everything under it. (Just upping the ride-height in the rear will cause too big a gap between the fender and tire, causing you to see parts of the medium azure interior.)
This will keep the same gap between tire and fenderr. This looks pretty good! It does however create small but noticable crevices between the inverted yellow 1x2 slopes and the flared fenders.
The bigger problems are stability and scale:
In the old setup there are two 1wide plates going through the body and interior that connect with underneath the fenders and lock the axle pieces between them and the chassis. These then don't line up anymore, making the rear-section easy to flex apart with pressure. Secondly it makes the car a bit too big. I have this rough scale rule-of-thumb to prevent normal cars from becoming too large: The hood must be lower than the head of a minifigure standing next to it. But since the hood was already on the brink of being too high, figures can't look over it anymore. Lowering the front by placing the front axles higher would circumvent this autism entirely. But the hinges used for the tapered hood get in the way if you raise it by 1 plate, and raising the axle another plate will already cause the chassis to hit the ground.
I could still experiment with different wheels, but then i'll have the same problem of finding two sets of different tires that look good together.

I don't mind that much though, because the cars i was inspired by here https://youtu.be/6oZN8f11BT4 don't have that heavy rake either.
>mfw can't visit a local dragstrip or raceway filled with vintage hotrods and musclecars

Cool man, that version didn't even have exhaust pipes!
I'm actually assembling parts to make another one. That way i can have one buggy/offroad style one more like it was before and a more pure tarmac racecar. I already have most parts needed in medium-blue too, but the limited amount of parts available in that colour and relative rarity is annoying(Especially when i know that 1 high doors don't even come in that colour yet) so now i'm going for a gray variant loosely based on pic related. (I always understood the significance of the beetles design, but it wasn't until i found this gnarly matchbox connectable and saw this beat up 50s one that i finally 'got' the design and came to love it).

The lower rear bumper aerodynamica looks good from the sides with the extra wide and low bodykit, but from the back it makes the car look too tall and narrow imo. I actually kinda like the big height of the rearbumpers old setup, makes it looked more organic and chopped for easier offroading

I've taken apart and rebuilt this thing so many times already. I don't even think i took pics of the gasser style dragrace mode i made with huge slicks in the back, jacked up suspension in the front and a quad exhaust setup.

It's funny you say that about the yellow convertible. I really like the sleek and clean look, but minfigures need to have very short hair for them to be able to lean back against the seat naturally (even the chearleader pigtails hair pushes the figure forward completely)
I thought about making the curve 1 stud shorter to allow for more room for the many figures with long flowy hair i have andmaybe a more detailed seat using snot brackets with tiles. But i'll have to order some parts for it.

Modulars are part of the Creator Expert line, which is the xbox-huge stuff that's less meant for play and more for display with a single extremely detailed build.

Toy & Grocery Shop, Corner Deli, the new Park Street Townhouse, etc. are part of the standard Creator 3-in-1 line, which includes everything from minifig-scale small buildings to separate scale vehicles to the massive fuck-you RV that is Vacation Getaways. Each year there's one or two 3-in-1s that are semi-detailed cityscape buildings, kind of like Mini-Modulars in a sense.

They're a great way to get back into Lego without spending tons of cash and the Corner Deli brought me out of my dark ages by itself.

If you don't care about what's BEHIND it, you might be able to make the gap a bit smaller- use recessed headlight bricks facing upwards instead of a 1x2 with studs on both sides to narrow the gap, then use the 1x2 tiles with O-ring attachments turned sideways for a quick 180 turn.

The tiles might not make room for the headlight bricks, though. Fuck.

I do the same adding stuff in daydreams right now. Back in the day, Futuron was the first successful space mission to build a colony on the moon. Ice Planet, Blacktron 2, and Space Police were all good guys who were harassed by Spyrius. Unitron was able to match their powerful robots since they were the best trained, and they kept Spyrius in check for a while as the Exploriens searched the furthest reaches of uncharted space, finding signs of alien life. It was an exciting time as all good guy factions joined as an Allied Space Force. I lost my Futurons by that point, so they never made it past the moon, but Launch Command came out around then, so perhaps the colony failed and regular NASA expeditions were being made. Meanwhile, in deep space, alien contact was imminent. Even Spyrius didn't want to mess with UFO when they saw their more advanced saucers. The commander of Blacktron I returned and attacked the meeting, igniting a hatred for all humans. They wiped nearly everyone out on the Exploriens' outpost and then attacked earth, where ordinary town citizens and the remaining spacemen won, sending UFO back into space where they warred with the Insectoids. Earth had to rebuild and space missions were all but cancelled. Galaxy Squad showed hope though as the moon colony was being rebuilt, with a new Space Police 3 protecting it. By then, more friendly aliens had been discovered and were living peacefully on the moon, with only minor crimes occurring. Blacktron was making a return in the shadows as the real hand behind SP3, going a more authoritarian route. It's only a matter of time before they swoop in posing as heroes. Back in deep space, Galaxy Squad has found the planet where Knighton is located. Little do they know some lava monsters have stowed on board their ships.

The Mars stuff was during my dark age, haha. Who knows what might have happened. Peaceful interaction at first, but then a rogue element with those second wave Martians? Maybe Blacktron would try to enslave them and that would cause them to strike back?

I wish I had seen some of this stuff when it was out. This ship looks awesome. Organic. It reminds me of the Combine gunships from Halflife 2.
>>
>>6083882
absolutely rude
>>
>>6083955
I think it'd be even worse if they were like that. As someone who likes to include frontal steering/suspension in my builds, the brick used on the rounded fenders takes up too much space as is.

I suppose the 2x2 plate isn't /too/ bad, but when working with certain features or at a certain scale it can be too much of a hinderance.

As much of a meme it is to hate it, there isn't much to hate. They give you a few solid builds and a good amount of detail. If you had to hate something I'd go with hating the price. Shy of 500 parts and hitting $60 bucks is only ok for Star Wars.

Man, Mars Mission was so disappointing. I was excited when it came out because I was a fan of Life on Mars but I hated the new martians. The total lack of useful articulation and the fact that their arms were just pinned to their sides instead of out in an action pose officially made them the worst minifigures in my collection. Hell, even the Bionicle micro-hordika were color coded and could hold weapons.

Ill insult anyone who likes TBBT forevermore, even IRL. Hell, I give my dad shit all the time because he watches that garbage. He smiles, has a chuckle and everythings cool afterwards.

For anyone who defends it here, ill ask them this.

Ever insulted someone here for liking anime? Or MLP/Steven Universe/fat cunt and puppycat or whatever that crowd funded tumblr garbage was called?

If yes, then you are no different than I am. All preferences and opinions in the end, so who cares, have a laugh, call me a faggot and move on.

I still say his GF would probably enjoy a modular (if funds allow it) or in the least, a creator mini modular. Hell, another anon had the good suggestion of the Wall-E set, at least hes a cute robot, and what chicks dont like cute robits?

Needs a tuting old mammy in the background doing some dusting or holding a serving tray with some mint julips on it.

Also, all this talk of brick separators.....those things are the bane of my existence.

Pic related. All of those since around this time last year.

Yeah, out of all of those orange ones, I managed to get a green one (think it came with the palace cinema), and as autistic as it is, thats my "lucky" separator. Its edges are starting to look like that.

Also, the chinese make some interesting ones.

>my S@H is in the post office waiting for pickup

Holy shit that was fast. I ordered it last weekend, and I thought that it naturally would get stuck in the Christmas limbo.

I wonder if there's any bonus polybags there. I've heard rumours that they include some for orders made around Christmas to get rid of the extra stock.

The green one is from Palace Cinema, yeah, it's a reference to the Brick Separator movie poster in the set.

THAT separator is in turn a reference to the old school green chunky separator you could only get from ordering it from Lego.
>>
>>6086101

Wasn't it grey?
>>
>>6086137
I've got a grey one.
>>
>>6086137
>>6086138
I've got both tucked away somewhere; my memory swears I got the green one first and the grey one later, but Google says the grey one came first and the green one was released later. It definitely exists in both colors, though.

The old ones came in green and gray, the new ones in gray and orange.

And bright light orange, magicbricks on bricklink was selling these for like $50 apiece.
