Just be careful, big shifts in temperature can do damage to plastic toys. Thankfully G2 plastic is pretty durable, but thin trans pieces are prone to developing hairline cracks. I'm mostly thinking of the Skellies' orange claws.

I haven't had any G2 sets break apart on me, but back when I bought Transformers, there were figures I could only transform at certain points of the year. In Summer, their plastic got thick and immobile, and in Winter, their joints would pop off at the slightest touch because they shrunk.

Most Bionicle parts aren't as frail, but I've been having fears about them snapping. A lot of my G1 parts broke on my displays, and I can't rule out that temperature had something to do with it (apart from dust and Lego's shitty plastic in general).

What do you guys recommend when missing a part ? Do I just look on eBay for lots with random peices or those websites that sell them individually?

Hey folks, Rollout here. Just thought I'd give those of you waiting over here on 4chan a little update as to what's going on with Cyber-Hand's MoUP project. He's been a bit busy lately as I understand, working through some commissions as well as running into problems with his printer and modeling software. On top of that, he's recently been working a new job that’ll be tightening up his schedule immensely for a little while. I've also been fairly busy myself in the last month or so, so consultation between us (and thus progress on the project) is taking a bit of a break. We'll also be waiting until scans from the upcoming G2 artbook have been published in hopes that there might be concept imagery within that which might help us see the mask from more angles before finalizing the finished 3D model as well.

I'm sure the more detail oriented among you will no doubt find that there's still a lot of tweaking to be done, some of which has been already been fixed since I screen-shot this comparison picture a little while ago. Hopefully we can find time to continue our work towards ironing the inaccuracies out before the end of the year, but until then sit tight and stay strong /biog/.

Last pic. The hole unfortunately is too small so I committed some heresy to glue the end of this piece onto the pedestal. That way I can just plug the axle into there without having to buy a file to widen the hole. It's a lot simpler this way.

My question is, the Toa are seen as old fucks in this future, but only 8000 years have passed. However, in Bionicle lore, Toa are seen to have lived that long and still looked quite good. Lhikan really looked the same between when he was defending the Toa Fortress with the keystone, and 6000 years later when he created the Toa Metru. And by the time Lesovikk rescues Sarda in the pit, it was mentioned he met Karzahni "many, many thousands of years ago."
I'll just assume time is a little fucked after transitioning to Speherus Magna, or the Nuva age faster for plot convenience.

The G2 sets are really quite cool, they combine the Hero Factory system with Technic in a pretty substantial way. Also some of the new Star Wars CCBS like General Grevious is pretty cool.

There are other possibilities though. I went to my local Ross and they had some of the 2015 Skulls and a few Masters.

Otherwise yeah, Bricklink and Ebay are going to be your best bets for getting something.

Yeah I will definitely do that. The battery holder actually looks different and didn’t fit anymore, when I also connected the eyes to the back. So I'm thinking about keeping the AA batteries and connect all wires or use two small batteries. Both would work better than the improvised version you see here.

Why is nobody talking about HOW FUCKING OVERPRICED LEGO IS GETTING? Battle on takodana for example is a 400 piece set and 60 dollars in the US and 75 dollars in Canada where I live. $10 USD sets are tiny and theyre parts are barely a handful. The new SW a-wing has less pieces than last years eclipse fighter and iwhile not confirmed will likely be 50 USD (65 cad)when the eclipse was 30 (40cad). I mention star wars because its the second thing im interested in behind bionicle but even ninjago and nexo knights are very similarily priced to the average liscened set.

The problem with merging is that a lot of /lg/fags will not have the slightest interest in talking about bonkle, it's story/lore, and anything like that, so it'll be hard to discuss without them sperging at our own autism.

Besides, nowadays I don't give a much of a crap about mainline lego, if it ain't bonkle, technic or ccbs related, I'm not interested. So I'll have to wade through mostly shit I don't care about to get to the occasional /biog/ discussions. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one to feel this way.

Its a bit of a mix. Hes just really bottom heavy. Hes a big boy, lots of pieces. It wasnt just to make him look "fat" his body was made to match the aesthetics of the mask. Pohatu was bottom heavy, therefore, he had to be.

It's licensed sets in general which these days make up almost half of the lineup (or at least it feels like that).
Part and plastic quality is also turning to shit with parts breaking left and right and the less said about fucking stickers everywhere the better.

Sure, they say that those are made by the same standards and are going to support the Asian areas but that's probably only for now.

That's the irony:
CCBS ball sockets are tough as shit now and there are like only a handful of reports of them breaking.
Meanwhile the normal bricks (especially everything that's one stud wide) are now prone to breaking from even just connecting them once and then putting on display.
Some of the Technic connectors also have a tendency to randomly crack with axle connectors that have safety holes on their sides being the worst offenders.

I dunno, those friction-adding sockets have never seemed that sturdy for me. I had one break after I took apart my 2015 Tahu (hardly any force), and I could imagine others doing the same. But it's just that piece though, otherwise I agree, CCBS is pretty indestructable.
