I like the FT/TW fully articulated hands.

All hinges except the thumbs. Look square looking but are way more versatile and good looking compared to the trigger finger + joined everything else on Tak and MT products.

I'm really not a fan of action masters either. A big part of the Transformers experience to me is the ability to transform as part of the play pattern.

But I understand the reality of engineering a transforming bayformer while retaining the gorillian moving parts design aesthetic is mostly impossible.

I get why people hate this thing. It's a weird overly-busy design from a shit movie series that looks absolutely nothing like the character it shares it's name with.

But I like it, and y'all get to enjoy a fool having his dollar parted from him, so that's something at least.

It is ugly, that's part of it's appeal. It's monstrous and menacing looking. It's also gorgeously painted and tremendous by all measurable dimensions.

It's more of a Scrapyard Kaiju than a Transformer, sure, but that's what I like about it. To me it's bad ass.

I hate the movies, and it's not like the bayformer starscream had any character to get attached to, but something about the dorito design always stuck out to me.

It's mostly trademark law that third parties need to duck and cover for. That's mostly why they don't go the full 9 yards and use official names and faction symbols. Instead you get goofy names with raised sculpting or cut outs suspiciously the same size as faction stickers. In China its hard to to prove copyright and likeness with a figure with original tooling. As far as the law is concerned it's just another blue and white robot that transforms into a truck called City Commander, not Ultra Magnus.

Hasbro and Takara do go after KO companies, but usually they threaten retailers with not selling them official stock if they also sell KOs of their products. Interestingly enough, third party manufacturers will pull product from retailers if they start selling KOs of their work, like how MMC, FP, and Maketoys pulled out of Robot Kingdom as the guy who owns that also sells and owns companies that make KOs of their work.

I know Hasbro has a deal with Shapeways allowing fan-made MLP stuff to be sold with permission, provided A)Hasbro gets a small cut and B) no porn stuff or anything Hasbro disapproves of.

The Seacons are new and shiny so I'm leaning towards them now that we know the torso is holds up great. I'm willing to break the combiner buying guidelines because of that. No denying this is an odd release, but it pleases me in a nostalgic way. I feel like the ideal grill wouldn't be a fake one, but one that compresses somehow to go from the wider alt-mode one to a more narrow, stylized look for robot mode. I'm surprised no one has attempted this yet, as far as I know.

My main problem with most of the fake grills is that they look noting like the actual truck grill, which feels unsatisfying. I'm alright with "cheating" when it implies the fake parts are the fame as the actual ones. But when it isn't the case, it seems pointless.

That's an odd design choice then, so not necessarily the fault of the toy but not something I prefer. As for preferring the fake grill, I just feel like the actual grill is too close to a square. I like the way MP-10 had longer looking "abs" and shorter "pecs."

Even in terms of truck modes, I prefer MP-10 by far, other than the shitty rear end.

He's alright. Suffers from forced A stance due to lackluster ratchet placement in his legs. His tits like to wiggle undone when you manipulate his arm ratchets. Wrist ball joints were loose out of the box.

He's huge though, poses well, and has the most sick ass plane mode I've seen on a transformer.

Legends sized in 'bot mode, so 4 inches. Vehicles modes are probably going to be smaller since vehicle modes usually are. So two roughly 3, 3 and a half inch legs, and a 4 or so inch body would probably end up about Voyager sized.

Anyone ever have KFC or X-Transbot figure hands break? Was looking at the fingers on my Andras and can't tell if the joints are stressed, or have just light colored spru marks on them near the joints. Nothing is loose, I just don't know how fragile these really are as I never gave them much thought until now since I wanted to pick up some upgrade kit hands for my carbots.
