So are these going to be 2 different releases/decos, or is there some kind of part swapping going on here?
>>
>>6040693
Parts swapping, which kind of sucks because that means the price of the package will be inflated as opposed to just having one or the other.
>>
Ebay has a $15 off $75 or more flash sale for the next three hours. The code is CYBERFLASH16 and should be good on 3rd party stuff.

Fuck I can't think of anything. I don't think saving $15 is worth having shit take 30 grillion years to ship from china for "free" if they even show at all. US Sellers are stingy fucks with their pictures of 'used' things too.

Actually now that I think about it who's a reputable enough seller to sell a Wei Jiang Movie Prime?

Yeah, I'm in the same boat here. There's nothing right there at 75 that I want, and I really don't need to be buying something in the ~100 range right now. If anyone had anarchus for retail I'd gladly wait on china shipping, but nada.

There is no KO of Apollo so you'll be ok there, the negative feedback about KOs is probably from retards who don't read the descriptions, as he doesn't put KO in the title for the MP he sells.

Jokes aside, even if he randomly changed his ways in the last month ebay will have your back anyway. At least you'll get to keep the feedback he gave you and the coupon for December even if he does end up sending you an empty envelope.
>>
>>6041119
I think I'll be fine? The last time I got taken on ebay it was 2003 for a laptop and ebay gave me my money back in like two weeks.

the only thing that worries me about chinese sellers with less than 2k positive feedback is that long running scam where someone will get their ratings pumped real quick by selling 2-5 dollar junk and then flip it to expensive but 'discounted' items and run off of their cheapo feedback and take it all and run, then ebay closes the accounts, then it takes like 2 months for people to get refunded.

if you actually DID buy from him before, thanks for the advice. Get some rest, I'll most likely kill you in the morning.

We've never seen any kind of artwork depicting this IDW Megatron's alt mode, did they just bullshit an alt mode for it? Does it not transform? What?

>>

One site had the Nero version by Neotoys. Honestly though, Rex is heavy enough as-is, putting more weight on his back is going to impact him negatively, and doesn't really do anything to make him "Ultimate" aside from making his arms identical (and honestly, I prefer having Divebomb be the sword-arm so his tail flap can double as a shield (making him the gun-arm never made sense to me, that tail gets in the way far too much).
>>
Anubis is the biggest piece of shit I have ever bought.

His altmode barely holds together since nothing tabs in properly, all his weapons pegs are too big for the ports, floppy left leg, head can be knocked off by a slight breeze because that peg is too thin for the port.

A huge letdown from MMC.
>>
>>6041506
Ouch, sorry to hear that. Was thinking of trying to snag Jaegertron, maybe not so much now (since it's the same mold).
>>
Quantron for $250

I'm tempted
>>
>>6041506
That sucks man, but I had the opposite QC with him. I bought the Lockdown and Anubis.

My Anubis holds together fine with only a few pegs being fussy in his wrist holes. His backpack spots all fit just fine.

It's Lockdown who doesn't want to peg together in his altmode, needing constant presses to ensure everything is staying close to position.

As for the floppy leg, someone on TFW cracked the hips open and it's only friction holding the hips in position. It has grooves as if it was going to be ratcheted but they just opted out. Probably could tighten it with floor polish or something pressing against it. Same with the loose head issue.

Really does feel like MMC rushed these molds big time. Lockdown has a couple pieces of gear that have no where to go when not in use. You're just suppose to toss it into his little cargo trunk and let it rattle around.
>>
>>6041288
maybe if displayed with normal sized figures, he'd probably look great as part of a Legends/Cyberverse display though

actually that reminds me, how big are the Optimus and Starscream he's displayed with?
>>
>>6041522
>Really does feel like MMC rushed these molds big time.
Their last few releases have seemed this way. Kultur doesn't look as finished and polished as the rest of their DJD line, their Rodimus looks very busy and the hips are just sloppy looking as fuck. And then all these issues with Anubis/Lockdown.
>>
>>6041491
>making him the gun-arm never made sense to me

It's because on the G1 toy the tail was what the gun hooked into. Also Divebomb is the shooty guy of the group, so it's in-theme for him to be the gun arm I guess.
>>
I hope Iron Factory has plans for a Megatron. Their Decepticon selection has been great but something will always be missing without him.

>>
>>6041522

From what I've been hearing from friends in the 3P scene and retailers: It's the new factory they employed. It has inhouse engineers working on translating the designs into actual functional CADs instead of Griffith handling everything, since he's swamped with work as is. It was supposed to be a boon because it was to help with their slow ass release schedule, but so far, great designs have been utterly wrecked by sheer incompetence. The factory engineers just have no idea what the hell they are doing. The backpack/wing issue with Lockdown and Deathshead, along with the loose hip ratchets? Or all the problems plaguing Backdraft, even if you got one with good QC (legs can't support diecast and become loose over time)? That's on them.

This is also why Carnifex and apparently Trailbreaker turned out great, because they were handled by the old factory. MMC is trying to deal with this now since it's seriously hurting them, but I don't know how they will yet. They probably have a contract that prevents them from bailing, and even fi they could, they need the extra factory.

As for the problems with how Kultur and Rodimus look...Former is just the designer being happy with how it turned out and not seeing reason to fix it, latter is usual case of Sarkiness.
>>
>>6041873

Fuck off, let people enjoy what ever toys they want
>>
>>6041982

People are entitled to enjoy whatever toys they want. But I do I know the hasbro mainline shit can be so much better and it's that attitude of "It's fine for it's price point" is what lets Hasbro keep cranking out floppy unpainted shit.
>>
>>6041873
>being heavy is a good thing

Yeah, sure, if you don't want to pose anything.

Protip, faggot: Gravity and weight don't mix well with trying to pose larger toys. Because theres a greater chance joints will fuck up or not be good enough.
>>
>>6041900
>>This is also why Carnifex and apparently Trailbreaker turned out great, because they were handled by the old factory. At least Carnifex turned out great. Hopefully they get their shit together fast though, MMC's easily my favorite 3P, I own the most stuff from them, and it's going to suck if they start becoming KFC2.0.
>>
>>6042160

>Putting words in my mouth

Protip faggot: I never directly said that being heavy is necessarily a good thing.

Hasbro makes hollow shit because they're cheap, not because it's good for weight balance.

You can be heavy as fuck if it's distributed properly and that can aid with balance due to a low center of gravity. This is why quality products that use die cast typically use most of it in the feet and legs. This is why I can take FT-03, stand him upright on my flat palm, and rocky my arm back and forth without him tumbling down. Big die cast shoes go a long way.

I think the Hotrod looks fine, same with Tarn. I do think people wanting them more accurate shouldn't be dismissed though.

It does really sound like they're trying to do too much at one time though, and not reining in the newer guys they hired hard enough.
>>
>>6042389
Silver or some pearlescent grey, would fit the nautical theme well.
>>
>>6042428
>I think the Hotrod looks fine, same with Tarn.
Yeah that's fine. I mean it's not like either is really bad, and I can see how they don't bother some people at all. Just personally I would have liked them closer to the books but it's ok, I have Kultur on preorder but I'm gonna wait and see on Roddy.
>>
>>6041273

>That eye

Hmmm. Did they prop him up and someone was like "Fuck, we forgot the eye, quick, give me a dremel!"
>>
>>6042455

It's frustrating that they go through all that effort to make most details accurate and then phone in the remaining bits as 'lol our own take' that ends up looking worse than the actual design. This is especially true given how close the two DJD releases were even with the original bits until Kultur showed up with a butchered ult mode and wonky arm canons.
>>
MMC quality has dropped a ton since they got a second factory.

They're lucky they've built up so much good will with their previous releases or they would be getting way more shit for Backdraft/Road Crane and Lockdown/Anubis

Dunno why Citybots shelfwarm so hard. Hot Toys merch and even 3A shit can be just as big and pricey and that shit flies off the shelf.

It took a lot of hard work and determination, but I managed to get the screw off with the help a few youtube tutorials and a "screws for dummys" guide.

MP Megatron looks so good but there's still one thing that really bums me out about it... The lack of silver paint. The original MP Megs was properly coated in silver, as are all of the MP scale third party figures but Takara is just leaving him as a flat gray and it looks so disappointing compared to the others. I want to love the new MP so badly because the sculpt and engineering are so good but that bland gray is keeping me from really getting on board with it, especially at that price point. I'm still on the fence about jumping on Mightron or waiting for the new MP because of it.
>>
>>6044395

I honestly like the grey better. My Despotron already has some paint chips/scratches/etc.

Just dousing an entire figure in silver kind of sucks, to be honest.
>>
>>6044395

>The engineering are so good

How do you know this?
>>
>>6044405
well, at a glance, it looks pretty damn good to go from a pretty solid (although with several seems, admittedly) gun to such a good looking robot and keeping animation accuracy pretty close to the forefront of the design. Third party companies have proven that it's possible to do that without going to fragility nightmare lengths like the original MP and it's pretty evident that HasTak is paying attention to third part engineering tricks. While we don't know if the engineering will be perfect or not but it has to at least be pretty solid to have that gun and that robot mode.
>>
Well I'll be. FT actually got WW out before years end. TCP has him in stock
>>
>>6044540

>>
>>6040673
Not gonna lie... that does look very tempting to buy.
Last 3rd part purchase was the Perfect Effect addons for Combiner Wars Bruticus.

I know what not!Megatron's jet mode looks like, but are there any pics of his tank mode yet?
>>
>>6044540

I want to like it but I feel the robot mode is too boxy compared to some of the angles of the torso in the art. The tail and alt mode are great though. I'm just not feeling it. Not hiding headmaster head is also not helping.

As a side note I hope Third parties start adopting the tube finger molding being seen MP inferno and Megs. It looks a lot better than the box fingers common to the third party MPs. I think the KFC Sideswipe replacement hands do a good job emulating that look.

Does anybody have Iron Factory Shadow Tengu Sixshot?
I'd like the general opinion of him from you guys before I pull the trigger.

If anybody cares to know, I'm building up a collection of Sixshots
and I'll be needing six of course
.
I already have the G1 reissue, Hexatron, and Justitoys WST Sixshot. I'm grabbing the titans returns one for sure once it hits shelves, but I was wondering what the last two should be.

Shadow Tengu looks pretty cool and is in my price range. I'm avoiding DX9 Hanzo because I honestly don't like the way he looks (Sixshot isn't known for his pretty ult modes, but Hanzo's look especially bad). He's just too expensive for an interpretation I don't really find appealing.

Is Maketoys Giant still worth it? He's pretty cheap on the aftermarket for what he is, and IIRC he's a pretty solid, sturdy combiner. The only complaints I have about him are that some of the individual robots looks kinda bland and the combined mode is shorter than an upgraded CW combiner.

The toy itself is great. Great poseability, simple and effective transformation, great quality, solid in all modes. The only reason I sold mine is because I wanted to thin down my collection and went for MPs only and neither the size or the style of Giant would fit.

Because I think there ought to be room in the market for it, since it often supports competing MPs of the same character from multiple 3rd party companies, but since the one we already have of Optimus is official and so well received, it seems like the most common reaction to this was that it was redundant

Accurate to whatever the rest of their design is based on I guess. Like Windblade looks the most like her comic version so maybe more accurate face to that and the Arcee either the G1 face or the current Arcee comic face (which as of recently has been pretty cute). Ordered him on Monday from ToyArena, you can imagine my shock when he came TODAY, clear across the country

And god damn this is my first full third party figure, and he is amazing. Shame he can't do microscope mode, but in light of everything else, I'm cool with it.

>Kind of looks like a retool of Chromedome

It was a Chromedome repaint with new headmaster, a scraped g1 toy that never passed the design phase.

Actually if you follow the animation from the game, you CAN bullshit a microscope mode, but you have to just rest the cannon on top of the whole thing, and obviously it won't have a tray.

I agree with this. Hating the hyper-cartoon accurate aesthetic they're going for now.

G1 Cosmos doesn't look a thing like that.
>>
>>6047994
You're joking, right?
>>
>>6047998
The UFO mode on the Toyworld Cosmos is entirely too bulbous and so are the arms in the bot mode.

It's not 2003 anymore. Ebay, feeling the pressure from the exodus of sellers to Amazon have changed all the policies to favor scammers.

Got any empty box? You won't even get past their email bot.

Best to just forget it even exists. When it comes to transformers even legit sellers are pretty fucking scummy.

Speaking of BW, I'm really curious if 3P will pick up the flack for any missing BW MPs. I know the usual line is that G1 was the big hit in Japan, but BW did air over there. I think a lot of the transmetal designs would be perfect.
>>
>>6047998
Not that anon, but I agree.

The top portion of the ufo is way too big, it should look retarded like the G1 Cosmos but not that retarded.
>>
>>6048194
The MP market is filling up already with tons of competition for even minor characters. Hell companies are already hurting bad from this. Branching out is going to happen and plans are already underway for it, but we'll see if the G1 focused market even wants that.

In other news;
>FINALLY find a OS KO MP Grimlock
>the original version with delicious orange sword, better gold and black chest window
>100 euro shipped locally
>Postal office fucks up bad despite it being a tiny ass country
>they delivered to the return address instead of me
>Finally get it after 5 days
>Clear sword
>Regular gold and clear chest window
>Otherwise everything is the same

Was there a third version that I never heard about or something??? The seller got it from eBay and never opened it, it was even sealed. So what the Fuck is going on here???

Apparently they're going to fix the head sculpt. It's really the only thing wrong with him if you accept that the proportions are comic accurate.

This really reminds me of Iron Factory's aesthetics. The way they put shapes together looks really similar, and that's a good thing.
>>
>>6047329
And also X-Transbots.

Both of them seem to have too large of a top section for the UFO mode, but I think this one gets it a bit closer.

THICC Hobby is new. I really dig their monsterbots though I feel they could have done a lot more to update the beast limbs legs and feet on not-doublecross. Also all of their stuff looks like they're stuck in a permanent A-stance. They look to just be upscaling and roiding out the old toys Dream Wave style rather than adding their own detailing. Sometimes it works, other times it really just looks like an upscaled toy.

Their Not repugnus looks dope though. I really like that they're going after the fringes and not fighting other companies. Hopefully they pull through with some quality. Mad props to them already having several painted prototypes and having them ready to go in full color for reveal.

Who ever makes the next attempt at Cosmos needs to not get hung up on making the chest plate part of the alt mode and just make a half size version of it that rotates around or something. They'll never get the proportions right on the vehicle mode until they find a way to cheat the size of the damn thing

Weird. You'd think 3P companies would be hopping onto it like they did with Metroplex, especially with all the clamoring for fan modes. At least a new Cog or something.

It's like every 3p designer nails the general design but then gets a wild hair up their ass to alter things here and there until it's either over designed or quirky as fuck.
