I love him. He's actually my favorite Prime mold after MP-10. He's just so stylish and quick and fun. I wish his feet could hide better in truck mode, but eh, whaddayagonnado?

I actually ended up buying the metallic painted Takara version, which makes him look about a thousand million times cooler. Not sure if prices on that are still sensible, though. They certainly aren't for the Megatron/Starscream pack.

I wish my kit fared as well. Nearly every tab was either too large or every hole was too small. One of the ball joints got stuck in the arm so hard it sheared itself off the torso.

Eh. It's okay. Certainly not worth the 30 bucks they were charging, especially considering it needs to be assembled and painted. Some parts of the transformation are a little clunky, and mine broke a ball joint fairly easily. The tip of the tail is only held it by screws, and the way you have to keep rotating it for transformation will eventually strip out the hole.

I think there's another 3P company that blew that mold up to Voyager size and is selling it on ebay for relatively cheap, though.

I think the next gimmick could be split alt-modes. It would fit well with Omega Supreme and Overlord.

Pretenders aren't nearly popular enough to get a whole line imo, but I suppose they could have tested the waters with CW Ultra Magnus.

After digging out the guy on the left it got me thinking.

Bigger or smaller, more complex transformations or simple enough you can do it via "feel"?

These 2 are VERY different from each other and represent (in my eye) the changes in transformers toys, where a bigger toy was as daunting as it sounded, movie megs just kinda crouches in yet he has enough complexity that after what 3 years I had to look up the manuals online after failing for about an hour transforming him, yet the guy on the left was piss easy, you can grab him and work him out from feel, easy to find tabs, obvious transformation sections, just so simple.

And I do have a bit of a megatron collection, not in this shot is mp-05 (not transformed once, kinda worried), that deluxe generations megatron, and the henkei voyager megatron (that one is a bitch even with the manuals trying to align shit), fav would have to be my legion g2 tank megatron and legion gun megatron just because they look great for their size.

For the record that megatron was a present to my younger brother, I got a leader jetfire instead, brother gave up on transformers BECAUSE of that megatron, he was 11 at the time, we were both upset as well because there was no optimus, very glad years later to have this one despite....you know, movie aesthetics

So people last thread were asking for what the story Transformers Legends is for why everyone is now Headmasters. Here's a summary of it:

Akihabara is shit for transformers period, unless you are looking for second hand/older shit. There are very few stores selling new shit and the ones that do only sell the odd Masterpiece (as in 3 or 4 unites in stock of each at the most).

Other shops which USED to sell lots of transformers years ago, like Yodabashi Camera and TRU now have shitty, dinky little TF sections that are focused on the kid lines like TF Adventures shit and some old shelf warming TF Go shit.

I got a grand scourge, he makes me wish the combiner limbs had ratchets in the knee's, they flop with his gun+legends on top, and his sword can only be held with a straight arm or all the way curled, not inbetween.

And my generations metroplex's joints aren't much better, enough for the gun and posing with a legion/legend class, but any diecast in the sword or just the sheer mass makes me wonder.

Gonna have mine with the sword facing downwards like the box shows, even though I suspect hasbro's is gonna be light as shit I'm not taking chances (unless I let my autism win and just tighten the ratchets myself)

So I think liokaiser can look better/ more accurate with a few minor adjustments.

first rotate the legs sideways and use skylynx's thigh joint as the knee bend.

take off the gold collar from gestalt head

finally have the front of the torso be the back.
run the lynx head under the crotch ala defensor and use the back wings as the chest wings, they even have the yellow pinstripe and decepticon symbol on them.

They're obviously going to use the Nosecone remold for Leokaiser, the Superion jet molds for the jets, and Brawl for the tank guy, maybe with a modified turret part.

The problem is what they're gonna do for the torso. Theres no real remolding needed for the limbs beyond new heads, since the drill limb guy is already made and the others are easily existing molds. So what everyone hopes is they go balls out wild and make a whole new torsobot. But no one knows what they are going to do, and a whole new torsobot might be beyond the scope of the UW shit.

Cause for Asians, culture and family are still much more important than you might just think, you think those cliche about honor and family in Asian shows are just a stereotype trope? It's still fucking true and like how westerners especially the white variety are indoctrinated with their "white guilt" even though they were never slave owners, Asians are told that their culture/family are more important than strangers especially if they're from a different race. Yes it is an inherent bias but I grew up on both of them now, I've almost lived half my life outside Asia so I already have a good experience of the other side so I don't know why you're only assuming I only understand one. Seriously it is something that you can easily change since it has been ingrained with people for a long time.

The kibble on his back is pretty forgivable, seeing as how it's the cockpit for his headmaster. There's not really much else they could have done with it, and it's not nearly as annoying as every CW deluxe wearing the entire nose end of their alt mode on their back.

But yeah, TR is pretty great. It's nice to see a deluxe with dedicated, interesting transformations, instead of having them just be a pile of kibble and compromises for the sake of being an arm or a leg.

This is true. CW was frigging awful for that. I like Prowl and his repaints as at least the nose end is hidden behind his back but the rest are just straight ugly. I was gonna get the Optimus Maximus set until I realised Ironhide looks like utter shit with the MASSIVE kibble behind his head.

I really want to love this mold, but it's missing that special something for me and I just kinda like it instead.

I'm definitely going to get it cuz I love Chromedome and the only other option is Fansproject's "I can't lift my arms past 30 degrees" Code, but he's just lacking.

I think it might be cuz he's such an obvious retool of Deadend and as much as I love that mold I don't need another of it. Especially cuz the more time I spend with that mold the more the arms bug me.

Dezarus could've had a bit more done with him like some foot remolding to make him stand more solidly bipedal, but the rest of the set is fucking gorgeous. Even then I love the idea of a team leader being an evil jet dragon abomination.

One's a big burly burrowing monstrosity that creates caverns for bases in a day, one's a sleeker, focused plow you'd expect to be doing road clearing. If Nosecone had a proper head i'd say the drillbrawl is a better fit for him since Autobots tend to be more peaceful and that the Rook retool would be best for Drillhorn
