I prefer the leaks. I like to plan my purchases well in advance, and this gives me a mostly accurate, bullet point list of stuff to save for almost a year in advance.

If something from the list turns up later and looks like shit, it means I also get to reallocate the funds I would've spent to other things.

I'm not a fan of surprises, either. It doesn't get me "hyped", never has. I get more enjoyment out of a release date being named then a product being announced.

I think the white piece just snaps into place between two nubs which are shown here >>5812856 They recommend shaving the nubs down to make it easier to remove and reattach it. That means it should transform fine, but I can't guarantee you that because I don't have the toy.

It seems scourge's neck is a problem for a lot of people because it's kind of wobbly and won't stay in place. I however like it best because the port is a separate piece of raised plastic and as a result it allows slightly more play and articulation than the other torsos

There aren't many long running animation shows that have run for as long as, say the simpsons, maybe from a creativity standpoint they run out of ideas and need to "reboot" it all, allowing for design rehashes and story refreshes.

It'll better explain why they keep pumping out a new optimus prime or megatron from time better (although cw having a bigger megatron than tr's really does my head in considering how short a time span in the same subline they are), I'm just glad each new series is distinctively new, unlike...say gundam, which recycles ideas under a new coat of paint with only new mecha designs being the real selling point.

And yeah, each series having a different animation style and a different premise and context really helps break things up. But it would still be ridiculously confusing for there to be a live action film one year, and then an animated series the next, followed by another film and then another series and then another film... etc. being marketed to the kids. But here's the kicker guys, none will look like the original brick, mp's are lavish hybrids of toys AND cartoon appearance, but aren't strictly locked into one or the other, or both for that matter as it could create a shitty toy.

Legends (and to that effect, generations) are even less bound, while takara and hasbro usually aim for toy or show accuracy they merely HOMAGE the appearance, even cw did this with shit like cw prowl or sunstreaker (they homaged the characters with paint and similar alt forms with differing deco's to better match toy or show accuracy)

Looking into the thread, and looking at some of my toys (looking at my mp-11 starscream as of now) it seems alot of compromises go into either form of a transformer.

I say we need more like this, while not already right stuff like this and the ultimetal are what we need, not *quite* show accuracy...but to want a 3d form of an 80's cartoon is absurd, what we got here is a fully articulated optimus that screams g1, stylized only to look good at it, not an artist take (hot toys, 3a) and not affected by the line (generations, mp), just made to look damn good.

But here is another argument about the gundam look, look at it, look at the rx-78-2 from the original series.

Much like transformers, there IS a base to follow, but in transformers due to all the transformations the animation needs to make cuts for sheer aesthetic design, even an mp will NEVER achieve 100% cartoon likeness due to the whole transformation thing which limits them, gundams never have to worry about this and when they do have to transform its usually taken into account with products...

But what makes me laugh is there is no transforming zeta gundam ACTION FIGURE, while the design of the RD unicorn has ALOT of artistic liberties, look at its models, fucked up leg articulation due to how strict they followed the artistic design, and to fix that on the peg they basically allowed it to break its own legs.

And another thing now that you bring it up, WIDE gundam when?

(Before I forget to even that new RD rx-78-2 has had a clean up, it looks better than the animation model, its not crude its clean cut)

I honestly like them both for hat they are, hollow forearms aside. I think Optimus looks better for how I see Optimus; a big, bulky type. PM Optimus for me is defined by the comics, which always had him as this wide, bulky strong robot. Where as, Ginrai looks like a perfect representation of the anime mecha proportions of Masterforce. I'll probably only get Ginrai since I have too many Optimus Primes, but a few years ago I'd have gone for both.

Because making a new show every few years is what a lot of longrunning franchises do in Japan. Look at Power rangers or Sentai, that reboot every year. It makes a clean slate for the next generation of kids who start watching. If a show runs for 6 years, kids who are 6 or 7 where barely around for the first season. Plus it helps them adapt to trends better. TFPrime was a rotting limb that had to be amputated, keeping it around longer would've been a bad idea.

That's really just because everything before G2 was lumped into G1. G1 has the most material to homage because US fans retroactively labelled everything before G2 as it. In Japan, they had the foresight that the stuff coming out post-86 or so so barely resembled the first few series they divided it all into different series(Fight Super Lifeform Robo Transformers, 2010, Headmasters, Masterforce, etc.)

All things considered, it's way healthier for the brand that we keep getting new cartoons rather than do what we got in the 80's in the US and just have no new animation for 9 years. Japan got 4 or 5 animated series in the 80's, one after another, and there was no confusion there.

Just picked up Legends Wheelie. He's pretty good, no qc issues on mine.

I love the transformation but as everyone else has said, it doesn't hold together in altmode super well. Everything mostly feels fine to me but when I transform it back to bot mode the arms untab way more easily than I'd like.

I was disappointed Skullcruncher didn't come with a tail sword/club like the original, but the TR version can wield the tail gun like a sword due to the 2 swivels on the arms, so that's nice.

They had to make him work with Legends class cassettes, and there was no way of making him work with them if he was voyager size.
