>Make a Christmas party for people who have no business celebrating Christmas.

Just my luck I posted right as thread died.
So I finally caved and got pic related.
One of my grail's of Lego for a good long time.
It's complete but no Mini figures or Bike.
I have 4 Clone Troopers in coming with it however I need 2 Gunners, a Pilot and a Captain.
Any idea where to get them? Ebay put's them at nearly $35+ total for the 4 Figures.
>>5359908
It's a fair way of looking at it.
I've seen some pretty bad titMOCs.
Mine are pretty mediocre when I try to add cleavage, but I'm okay with it.
>>5359890
Said it better than I could. Characters are generally more easy and fun than just going for curves.
so /lg/, what 2016 sets are you plaining to get?
>>5359906
Bricklink.
>>5359947
I only have eyes for Mixels.
>>5359947
Fortrex and a big bag of gray bricks off bricklink.
I'm planning on a big Nexo Knights castle with spaceship engines on it.

>>5359949

>>5359993
That's based off some disney junior show but I am down with that.
>>5359992

A bigass spaceship.
>>5359947
Maybe the big bank.
It looks comfy, what do you think about what we've seen of it so far?
>>5360012
im mostly gonna get nexo knights sets, this theme hits all the right spots for me.
Are there any attempts to build this guy in lego?
Tried google but at most there was some bionicle stuff
>>5359947
probably the Battle of Takodana, but I dunno
>>5359898
Could any of you Anton's out there with this piece in hand show me how it looks with a 4x4 sloped dish on top of it? And on the dishe's stud could you put one of those flat gold coin/studs on top? I can't make heads or tails of whether or not it would look good. Trying to make a shield.
I keep getting in and out of LEGO, and I've been out of it for about 6 months and thought I was doing fine, but damn....that Ghostbuster Firehouse...
>>5360054
>anons
Whoops.
>>5360012
I'm totes buying the bank.
I've also been saving for the Sea Cow, but that's not a 2016 release.
Any stores traditionally get SW sets before the release date? Really want a few of the new big sets but am busy around New Years release date
>>5360034
Yeah, and it's kinda impressive too.
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=362264
Good taste, by the way.
Anyone else not really satisfied with any of the 2016 SW sets? Nothing has caught my eye at all, and the Battle on Takodana set is downright disappointing. The closest win for me is the First Order Battlepack but the lack of troopers is irritating. They seem to want to throw in Crew and Officers with every FO set.
That said the Rebel and Resistance battlepacks are both nifty so I suppose they're alright. Hope we see some decent bases later on.
>>5359906
Why does it come with a speeder bike? I don't remember one of those being anywhere in that film, maybe when Anakin was riding around looking for his mom?
>>5360089
>Not realising LEGO dumps in any cool little thing to make the sets more nifty
Not complaining, but you could say the same about the speeder in one of the original AT-ATs
>>5360087
You're not the only one, they're all shit. Some of them could be decent parts packs because I like gray parts and fleshy heads but, overpriced.
I got this for Christmas. It's great and almost goes with all my other Lego Christmas stuff...almost. I have OP's tree, 2 snowmen (30197 & 30008) Santa Claus #1978 and the elves to match and that big wreath. I think i am going to rig them to look like inflateable lawn decorations with "blowers" made of Lego behind them. Any advice or ideas? I need to hunt down the other holiday themed sets that aren't wallet busters...
>>5360087
Haven't bought a LEGO set since god, probably 2006 or 2007? Got the 2015 Special Forces TIE Fighter; it's way sturdier than my older TIE Fighters, but I'm surprised by the fact this came with four figures. They used to be pretty stingy with the minifigs and now they seem to be shoving them in excess into every set (to knock prices up)?
And why the fuck do all the figures' eyes have pupils now? It might be a minor trivia fact but it's kicking my autism into high gear. I'd rather troll on EBay for the sets of my childhood, even if the builds are flimsier.
Is there a place that says when a Lego set is going to be retired or w/e the term is? There're some I've been putting off getting and knowing my time limit would help
Guys help me decide which set I'm going to get tomorrow. I got some extra money for Christmas and I'm going to go look at the local toy store with my friends tomorrow. I kinda want to buy some Lego Star Wars but I'm not sure if they'll have any of the new 2016 sets yet. I saw some battle packs and Obi-Wan's interceptor and the Battle for Hoth the last time I visited, but all local supermarkets were scoured for lego after Christmas when we went to check the stores today.
I've got about 100 euros to spend.
>>5360137
I've been kind of thinking about getting some pirates because I like the theme and colonial militia, but those sets seem to have pretty poor value for money.
>>5360137
are the 2016 sets out yet in eurofagland? if not I'd wait, see if any of those look good.
I was playing around with my minifigs and I think I may have accidentally made a Mara Jade minifig, what do you lads think?

Here's my owned sets. Some 2016 sets were already on shelves here, but at some supermarkets they all went by Christmas Eve or they were removed from the shelves. The toy store had some as well.
Like the Ultra Agents copter for like 60 euros which my friend wants to go and pick up.
taking a break from sorting to post some Space Police

ONE JOB
There aren't a lot of dark red hair pieces, but most depictions have it kind of orange-ish
Is this a retired set? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Or is it just because everything has been pretty cleaned out everywhere because Christmas
Left or right?
>>5360198
I tried anon :(
I'm looking through for some orange hair, I know I must have a Mary Jane figure I could use probably somewhere for her hair?

>>5360215
Right. I wish there was a hairpiece for Macy helmetless.
Got a little money over the holiday, and I was wanting to get a big, Star Wars set. Thinking of either the Star Destroyer or the new Millennium Falcon. Which one would you guys recommend?
I was looking around a bootlegs, and found a Darth Talon minifig [spoiler]twi'lek fetish[spoiler] I thought it looks great, then I saw this, this stupid shit, indenting the minifig torso, fucking ruined for me.
>>5360181
Is this real or a MOC? If real, is Blacktron coming back?
>>5360232
Lego indents their female torsos with shading. Those guys just took it to the next logical step. Dunno why you think that's so stupid.
>>5360253
They don't look right at all though, it makes them look deformed like that
>>5360231
I have both and I love both.
I happened to drop the Falcon though so now it's in million pieces.
Depends on which minifigs you want more I guess.
>>5360240
Just a MOC, sorry to disappoint
I might be able to snatch up Benny's Spaceship^3 for cheap, what do you guys think of the set?
>>5360290

Just got this at about 25% off, did I do good?
I don't have the means to do landscaping, decent lighting (don't even have flash on my phone) and backgrounds yet but I made a little scene involving the capture of a rebel cell after a battle. I don't have much lego yet but I'm hopefully going to grow it all to make a good selection of resources for vignettes or dioramas.
Thoughts?
>>5360365
Yes you did, great set
>>5360370

>>5360087
Both of the battlefront battlepacks look really nice, especially minifg wise, but the rebel speeder looks pretty decent.
Everything else is pretty meh though, yeah. I might get Takodana if I see it on sale.
>>5360373
Behind the scenes shot of a strange beast native to the planet
>>5360374
>random construct
>random imp officer
>identical battledamage on troopers
The only redeeming feature is the shocktrooper
>>5360407
It seems like they somehow fuck up at least 3/4 of the battle packs they put out. I don't know how they can ruin something to simple.
People want like, four shocktroopers, or four stormtroopers, or something simple. Instead we get like weird officers and strange shit, and like, one actual army builder figure.
>>5360407
>complaining about identical battle damage
>>5360412
Yeah, they did great with with Imperial Troop Transport, rebels troopers are so cheap now because they were in that 4 pack
>>5360407
I know, but at least you get neat jetpacks, and Im pretty sure the officer is a new design exclusive to the set. Besides, we literally got a stormtrooper battlepack just this year.
>>5360215
New episode? Also I like both but if I had to choose, Lavaria.
>>5360412
It's almost like they do this to make armybuilderfags buy multiple sets.
>>5360461
People would buy more if they had the figures they want.
Instead, they're just going to go to Bricklink to get that Shocktrooper, instead of buy a bunch of that set for one figure they do, and three they don't.
>>5360370
I like it, nice action and wreckage in the background. as far as lighting having no flash on your camera/phone is actually a good thing, just get more lamps around it instead.

>>5360217
Yeah, there's a ridiculous dearth of female sci-fi torsos.
This Hermione/old MJ hair might work even if it's a bit fluffy (though that actually makes it close to her magazine-cover design and a few of the other old versions):

Posting an update, I tried some different hair, arms, and legs to try to find good combo, these are the sets or hair I found on hand so far, what do you guys recommend to be best?
>>5360544
LEGO Dimension figures are normal LEGO figures. It's a game similar to Disney Infinity and Skylanders where different characters have different powers. The vehicles they come with are also made of normal LEGO, and the gimmick is they each have three forms with different abilities. There's a story mode in the game, as well as themed worlds to explore. The level packs have additional levels (obviously) along with access to the themed world. Some characters have unique abilities not shared with anyone else. You can complete the story mode and parts of the theme worlds with just the starter characters, Gandalf, Batman, and Wyldstyle.
>>5360585
I like the last one, the middle one is too dyke for me.
>>5360573
What I really need is the torso of Barris
>>5360544
Dimensions is basically Lego's response to all of the figure games like Skylanders, Infinity, and Amiibos. The main difference is the pad you place the toys on is interactive and used in some puzzles, and each of the vehicles or gadgets must be built and all of them have three forms with different abilities. You build everything from instructions it gives you in game, but you must purchase the upgrades first.
If you've played any TellTale lego game before it's pretty much exactly like those except with physical figures.
There's three kinds of packs you can buy. A level pack comes with one figure and two items and unlocks a level in the game based on the franchise.
A team pack has two characters and two items.
A fun pack comes with one figure and one item.
Each character can unlock an Adventure World, which is a small open-world location based on their franchise in which you can explore for red and gold bricks and studs. The adventure worlds are also where you interact with completed minikits from their related story level. Like, if you pick up all ten minikits from the Lord of the Rings level and then go to the LotR adventure world, you can find the minikit and play a minigame, I think. I haven't actually completed any kits without Aquaman and his damn Atlantis ability.
Each character and vehicles has abilities to overcome obstacles and unlock hidden things, and some are more useful than others. Superman for example has a ton more powers than say Bart.
Here's a chart for abilities if you want to find out what someone can do. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NJBVQS26Ow-FfW-cOGNJw1ME35Pkf8ujUdSk-j7JSWE/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0

>>5360253
>>5360260
The basic issue is that Lego actually knows what the fuck they're doing.
"Shading" is exactly the right word for it, it makes the part look narrower but doesn't actually alter the shape, which will always look like shit because of how simplified the overall structure of a minifig is.
Should I get a Fortrex set and stock it full of Stormtroopers?
>>5360544
Also, the bases (their official name is "Toy Tags") are indeed removable; in fact, they're the only part that "talks" to the Portal base. So as long as you label the vehicle/gadget Toy Tags, you don't even have to leave the build on it.
I haven't torn down any of my builds yet, but I did mod my Delorean so it looked a bit more accurate to the movie (as accurate as a micro-build can, anyway lol)
Just be warned: I've spent something like $250 on it already, and the next wave has another $70 worth that I "neeeeed" to get. It's as big a money sink as anything else I've ever played.

I wasn't serious jackass, just commentary on how much fucking Star Wars consumes this thread.
>>5360919
It's just particularly bad right now because the movie's out. Look at the rest of the board, drowning in SW threads.
Also to be fair, Star Wars seems to be the theme with the most sets out at any given time except maybe City. And City sets are mostly pretty boring, whereas the Star Wars sets generate lots of discussion pro and con.
>>5360929
I know it is now but when I landed here months back it seemed as strong as it is now.
>>5360930
Well, the majority of the merchandise came out in September, there's a whole cycle with this kind of thing. Pics leak, sets revealed, people compared reveal pics to trailers, sets come out, people bitch about the price and design, more people buy sets, movie comes out, people bitch that sets are inaccurate, people bitch that they can't find the sets the day before christmas, people bitch that there's too much discussion about SW sets, new SW sets come out, rinse, wash, repeat.
>>5360930
And since you don't seem like a troll, here's some advice: the only actual way to get people to stop talking about something you don't like is to bring up something more interesting. Complaining about people talking about something is still just people talking about that thing.
This was a good Christmas for me

I am basically wanting to sell a bunch of old sets from as far back as 2008. All of them have been altered and most of the minifigs are not included. Is there really a market for bulk Lego selling?

I sadly haven't had time to build all of them or play much of the game.
Also when is Simpsons round 3 coming? Also I want to get the kwik e mart still but just bought a bunch of high test porn mags and video game imports.
Had to take down my city sets during Thanksgiving because of family coming (been using the giant dinner table as a base) and not sure if I should pack some stuff up or trade/sell. My speed train is still cool but I need more track.

The random officer sucks, but you still get 3 nice figs, and the battle damaged Stormies have identical prints as the OT stormies (from the latest ISD and SW Calendar) so you can get two of those and mix and match parts.
I'm doing precisely that, getting two packs of each Battlefront pack and getting a female head, zabrak and Sullustan head for the rebel scum.

yup, thats one only shows in that set, unless you want to count the santa trooper with the spare helmet

I don't see any lego, friendo.
Has there been news on how successful Lego Dimensions has been, or if there are new waves of the $30 playsets? I want to keep a sharp eye out for deals on old sets because I'm really fucking hesitant to pay $30 just for a minifigure of Chell and a Turret, or $30 just for Marty's Hoverboard.
>>5361587
Can't you just get the minifigs and their parts on bricklink?
They have a Lego Dimensions section
Which one is better?
>>5361727
Left, can't fucking stand the rebels trooper with the baggy eyes and giant fucking frown on its face.
>>5361732
Yeah, that what i thought, too. I guess i'll just wait for that battlefront battlepack since those don't have the droopy mouths/vents
>>5361587
Ghostbusters and Midway Arcade come out next year. There will probably be more fun packs and team packs in the future, but the last wave that we have information on will be in May. This image contains the little bit of information we have for June and beyond.
>>5361727
Right, more scary looking, easier to get and generally more detailed imo

Left, droopy troopers look like shit, and left one is easy enough to get a small troop of since they came in the latest SW Calendar.

Found my lego on the attic. Have a little brochure that shows products from 1999. Is quite fun to look through. Also put together some of my old star wars ships. Forgot how fun and relaxing lego building is.

>>5361903
t.canadian by the way
The last three sets I bought before my dark age were Tygurah's Roar, Elephant Caravan and that river boat. My greatest Lego-related regret is that I didn't buy the entire line when I had the chance.
>>5362003
I'm certain that's a lot of people's greatest Lego regret.
>>5362047
My greatest Lego desire is to own a Lego AT-ST.
>>5362047
In particular, the Dragon Fortress and the Chinese boat.
>>5362003
I regret not getting a Naboo starfighter or whatever the fuck that yellow ship was called, it looked really cool as a kid.
Also does anyone remember a red Star Wars Episode 1 set?

Nah not that one. It was definitely something from way early back, might not actually be Episode 1 but I feel it really is. What I know for sure is that it came out like 2002 or earlier.

>>5361065
Although I disliked the figures I love the two sets they released for it especially the kwik-e-mart
>>5362055
Its called a naboo fighter. 7141.
Should I get the Firehouse in January or not? I was really pleased with how Ecto-1 turned out and the building itself looks even better but on the other hand it doesn't look that fun/challenging to build and it would take up a large amount of space in my room...
Does anyone here bricklink blank black heads for their Storm/Clonetroopers/pilots?
I'm thinking of doing that because the flesh heads sticking out the bottom of the helmets is starting to really bother me.
>>5362184
what about those stormtrooper balaclava heads
>>5362204
Well I kinda agree that those prints aren't the best. Flesh on black makes the guy look really tanned. Also, I figure those must be hella more expensive than the plain black ones.
CMF Disney looks promising.

I've got a boner for exploration stuff. I think I'd want a semi-realistic long-term exploration space ship from lego, i'd die of happyness
Already bought like 2-3 of every arctic explorer set but they're pretty limited in what you can make keeping in theme.
>>5362378
>you can remove stuff to make it fit
No shit, the point is the actual building had space for the Caddy AND the furniture
>>5362384
yup but the set would have needed to be enormous to be in scale with the car
I lose my shit everytime I see a listing that's horribly marked up because it's retired and fro ma "personal collection".

Lucky bastard, owner probably wanted a Rey wannabee.
I'm not into Star Wars Legos, but I fell in love with Rey's popsicle speeder as soon as I saw a screencap, and I was surprised when I thought the Lego version looked really neat. This is the first SW set I've bought for the build, and I am really happy with it. It's very swooshable and has lots of neat details and greebles.
>>5362474
Ill give you $35 for it.
By twisting the bottom rocket, you can make the side panels open independently of each other (can't make them close the same way, however). There's a storage box that fits inside the engine compartment. The right side of the speeder is the same as the left side, except without the row of 1x1 clipped tools.
>>5362289

Spoiler alert: Rey is a character in the new Star Wars movie. She is the pilot of Rey's Speeder.
The set come with enough extra pieces that you can make her a sweet blaster and also a stubby black lightsaber.
It also comes with these other extra pieces.
It also comes with a bunch of trans-red studs because everything Star Wars needs to be packed full of stud shooters.

NNNOOOOOO YOU RUINED THE MOVIE YOU DIIIIIIICK
It really is a nice set. Tons of useful parts. I converted mine for space mail delivery.
I also got some other fun stuff. Red ghost has been seen before. The trans-clear Duplo flower is going to look really nice with another piece I've got coming. The trans-red head does not actually have sunglasses and a beard - that's just a trick of the light. More loincloths because everybody loves cavemen.
>>5362559

Star wars and lego's use to be the best combination of things but what happened to that relationship?

MOC Time!
Had these guys sitting around on my windowsill for almost a year. It's time to dismantle them, so I decided to share them with you. Dump incoming.
First one is a mech, a core part of my mechanized infantry unit thingy:
>>5363040
Next up is a walking all-purpose combat droid or something.
I imagined it being the main fighting force of this faction. It can transform into a small tank as well. Also it can have one one of the combat engineers pilot in. And last I decided it can also become an anti-air defensive structure, though I know it totally looks like the robot is just busting a move.
>>5363051
Now for the infantry. Not much to say here, commander/pilot, combat engineers, smug sniper and a mechanic. Wanted to make them look uniformed but diverse enough.
>>5363052
The opposing faction never got fleshed out properly, I kinda stopped caring at this point. Call it Wrecking Crew or something cause construction. Includes a bunch of dudes, twin criminals and an unfinished power loader.
>>5363056
And here's a battle scene just for the hell of it.
That's it! Hope you enjoy!
>>5362985

>>5362822
"Used" generally means "there might be scratches or fading, buyer beware". I've bought lots of "used" pieces that look new, but some don't look used at all. If the piece is cracked or broken it will say; if not, you can usually get a refund or exchange if you get a cracked/broken piece that wasn't labeled as such.

Hi! I'm from Russia and I began to create Lego models and instructions for them, so I'd like to show two of my MOCs.
The first is six-wheeled megacar. It reminds Batmobile a bit.
Video instruction here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Typ7sZFdmUc
And one more photo of this creation.
>>5363571
Got the instructions for that beauty?
I have in front of me, a fully assembled Horizon Express including RC motor and stuff.
I also have the engine for the second one 90% assembled in front of me.
Here's the deal though: I want to reverse the second drive motor so that when I tell them to go, they go in synch in the same direction and not opposites.
Anyone know a good way to do this? I'm kinda new at this.
The second MOC is a battle mech.
Video instruction: https://youtu.be/hezMV2C8gOE
>>5363581
Wouldn't like, turning the engine around work?
Or just get 9V engines.

9V not an option, 80% of my track is RC.
Tried turning it around as that was my initial thought, but the wire would have to cross over the top and there's basically no gap between the top of it and the base of the train as it turns out.
>>5363596
Ah right, I don't even know how the RC motors work. There's no sort of reversing button or anything?
If not, you'll probably have to rework the whole thing to fit a reversed motor.

>>5363649
I have no idea what you mean.
>>5363621
For this to work, you'd need the leading and trailing engines to be on different IR receiver outputs, which might cause sync problems when jogging both wheels on the remote.
If you can fit a PF switch in the trailing engine, you can reverse the motor's direction with that and have both engines running from the same output.

Probably a cigar
Anyone have any of the lego simpsons sets minifigures or the house / mart.
They look very impressive I'm surprised they haven't announced a 2016 set
>>5364243
This is awesome. But my favorite part has to be the Lego wreckage outside the window.
Makes me think of a studio operating in some bombed-out city or something.
>working on a moc for a while
>can't find this one part to finish it
>find the part
>extatic for a minute
>it doesn't work out as intended
I'm just gonna go over here for a while and kill myself.
>>5363573
I like how the Lego name on all of the taillight studs is facing the same way.
>>5363406
My bad!!
Also should I start on Dr who season 1? Maybe I'll kick in an episode today while contemplating getting the kwik e mart or Ghostbusters HQ.
>>5364460
I know your feels, man.
I still have an unopened Gingerbread House and Christmas Train from a couple months ago. Should I scrap them for parts or just leave them untouched forever?
>>5364489
i wanted that shit soo bad
>>5364315
I have the wave 2 figures. It's sad because I'd spend $300 on useless video game stuff but I can't push myself to drop that much for Swedish Puzzle Blocks.
I read a ally want the KwikEMart. The house looks decent, but it's way too much for what I consider to be a solid block building.
>>5364460
every proper MOC yields a box of rejected parts you colossal wimp
Why are the DC sets so awful?
>>5364506
Because they're better than Marvel sets but still part of the Superheroes line.
>>5364523
>they're better than Marvel sets
>Batman mech and banana truck
at least marvel gets more than batcrap
>>5364482
Watch "City of Death" it was co-written by Douglas Adams.

>>5363584

>>5364489

>>5363818
I like this. It reminds me of the old catalog images. The red astronaut with a different-colored helmet is the one thing that bothers me, but otherwise, great color choices for everything.
>>5364506
This year's stuff was great. Aquaman, Flash, Captain Cold, Green Lantern, Sinestro, Supergirl, Brainiac, Green Arrow, and most of the Teen Titans all showed up.
>>5363402
>Does anyone actually use the term "1x5" at conventions?
You mean like a "one by five tile", or "one by five brick"? People do use the terminology when talking about their bricks, whether it's looking for that Nougat 1x3 bow at the Pick-A-Brick or talking to other fans about that new 1x2x2 SNOT brick in the Brick Bank.
>>5364793
I think he meant the slang term for girl who likes Lego.
>>5364489
How much you want for them?
How rampant are Lego forgeries in Bricklink? I was thinking of ordering a Slave 1 and the Desert Skiff from a Russian store in Bricklink and the first thing I thought was "I wonder if they pirate legos like they used to do with PS1 games".
>>5364803
>If you want to talk about a 1x5 piece, how else would you describe it?
"Nonexistent"?
>>5364800
What the fuck?
>>5364815
Yeah that was my reaction when I heard it in the documentary.
>>5364812
not to be a huge pedantic dick but
>>5364809
Only happens by accident, because sellers who deal in knockoffs get called out real quick.
In before "muh chinese factories". If it was produced in an official LEGO factory using official LEGO materials, then it's officially a Lego piece, no matter whether or not TLG sanctioned its creation.
>>5364809
What do you mean by Lego forgeries? You can't just copypaste an existing set with Mega Bloks or Kreo, they don't share the same parts or colors.
>>5364820
Well yeah, but
>"1x5" is code for an attractive woman at a Lego convention. A 1x5 brick doesn't exist, so it is a sign for adult male fans to look in a particular direction.
I wonder if this actually happens, or if people online just say it happens.
>>5364826
That's kinda awful.
Not the nonexistant attractive women, but the fact that there had to be a term for that.
I just realized I have a small army of Stormtroopers but hardly any generic rebels. Damn, I really can't wait for the battle packs to hit my area so I can have an actual opposing army...
>>5364482
Do you means season 1 with the First Doctor (William Hartnell) or series 1 with the Ninth (Christopher Eccleston)? Starting with the latter is acceptable, and often encouraged.
>>5364829
>>5364831
There are reasonably attractive women who like Lego. They're usually nerdy types but they're not always fat and ugly.
And some, including girlfriends of male fans, will be at conventions.
Mind you, I'm not sure what Lego convention really means. They do some big shows here, maybe once a year, but they appeal to casuals as much as hardcore collectors and you can see all sorts of people.
Most of the crowd at dedicated Lego stores, apart from families in which the dad clearly loved Lego as a kid, seem to be gay men in their 40s.
>>5364836
The Rebels are weird. Although they always have a specific uniform for specific situations (vests on the Tantive IV, flight suits, Hoth arctic gear, etc), there's no general-purpose Rebel costume the way Stormtrooper armor is general-purpose.
>>5364845
The closest thing to an official uniform is probably the Tantine one, though. The jungle and arctic camos are clearly contextually-defined, while the first one we see is generic. It's what I think of when I think of the rebels, anyway.
>>5364843
I feel like it's harder work to find suitable knock-off replacement bricks in certain sets than it is to just sell the set as it is. If you want that Slave I, don't worry about forgeries; BL sellers are mostly good people anyway, and you can always report them if they try to pul anything funny.
>>5364844
>There are reasonably attractive women who like Lego. They're usually nerdy types but they're not always fat and ugly.
>And some, including girlfriends of male fans, will be at conventions.
No, I meant "do people at conventions actually use the term '1x5' when they see a hot chick, or is this just something that got made up and spread around on the Internet".
>>5364843
Sorry, I meant "genuine", not "official".
>>5364845
I think the Tantive uniform is equivalent to the Imperial Marine's uniform, while a brown vest type as in Endor is the normal combat uniform.
>>5364852
The problem still is "sanctioned by The Lego Group", If a part is not sanctioned for creation and use by the lego group, it can't be official nor genuine.
>>5364861
So if a worker at one of the official factories, on a whim, decides to pour some Magenta plastic into the Iron Man helmet mold, would the resulting batch of pieces not be genuine?
Different anon.
>>5364872
A piece that is not sanctioned for creation and use by Lego, even if made at a Lego factory out of materials owned by Lego is not official Lego.
If Lego then decides to release a Magenta Iron Man, the pieces would be as official as any other.
Until that those are just knock-off Iron Man helmets made from genuine Lego plastic.
Comrades, a space truck.
>>5364879
That seems like such a weird stance on it. It's like saying that prototype pieces are just knockoff pieces, although you might suggest that a proto piece would count as officially sanctioned.
>>5364879
>official
>official
Right, but is it genuine? Because that was the question.
>>5364883
Admiring those panels, anon.
ADMIRING!
>>5364890
To me it seems obvious that proto parts are officially sanctioned.
>>5364893
I am using official and genuine interchangeably in that post.
If Wu-Tan at the local factory goes nuts and starts casting pieces in weird colours, they're not genuine until Lego gives them a purpose, even if they are just shoved into some creator box as loose bricks.
And so his new autistic venture begins.

>>5364883
I want to make a spacegoing container ship that carries 12 of those cargo boxes/pallets, can't quite decide if it's my dumbest idea yet.
>>5364894
I've got so many panel pieces holy shit
Need more still, in dark gray.
Has anybody seen the star wars escape pod set yet? I'm in Australia and I've seen the battlepacks around but I need me some jawas.
>>5362534
Force Awaken hasn't grown on me yet, except for the speeder which I agree looks pretty awesome in lego form. Might get it.
I just got the Republic Frigate polybag today. It's probably my favorite spaceship design anywhere, and between paying 6 bux or 200 bux for the big red cruiser version, I went with the polybag. No regrets, it still looks fucking sweet.
>>5364907
Shit man, I only have one in white, one in old gray, and two of these.
I just realized that the kid who I got my initial shoebox of Legos from must have had the Beta 1 Moon Base. I think the only pieces I got of it were these panels and maybe a spaceman or two.
>>5364913
I'm actually considering paying 150 euros for the big version of the cruiser, even though I already own the Clone Wars Frigate. The stickers are coming off it (I bought the set new and sealed, but the sticker sheet was loose inside and it had started crumbling and peeling with age) and it bothers me, plus I sold the clone wars figures off because I can't stand the eyes. THE EEEEEYES
>>5364925
>Shit man, I only have one in white, one in old gray, and two of these.
Nice, very lucky find!
I want that set. Mostly just for that piece.
>>5364489
Leave them untouched then sell them next year for a mint. The price has gone down $20 for the Gingerbread House since Christmas ended.
>>5364826
>So, people apparently use the term 1x5 to refer to an attractive girl at a Lego convention
These fucking nerds, I swear.
>mfw free Nexo Knights Grunt with any purchase next month
Alright, how do I get the most out of this? I want to amass an army of these fags because I've decided that Nexo Knights will be the theme that I will complete.
Also
>All those cool as fucking shit Nexo Knights polybags
I need them in my life.
>>5364959
I've only been to two LEGO conventions and there were attractive women there. I mean, they were moms with little kids, but they were hot.
>>5364938
It was less "nice find" and more "now that you're old enough to be trusted not to choke on these, here's a shoebox full of Legos that we got you from an older kid because he's 12 now and doesn't want to play with Legos anymore".
I didn't even know there was an alternate version until a few months ago:
alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3754p01
>>5364970
Pic fucking related. Would they judge me if I was a greedy faggot and bought 1 small thign every day just for the package? Also, if they're giving out shields, I might as well go full ham on these things.
Heres an update now that I got the last bricks I need, just need those minifigure plates now.
>>5364985
It depends on a store, if its a high traffic one, they may limit you after a few, otherwise they wont really care and will still do it.
>>5364985
Are they really giving out shields, or do they just mean that they have a set of QR codes that they'll show you when you build a "monster vehicle or hero vehicle"?
>>5364926
>THE EEEEEYES
man, no kidding
>>5364995
I'm assuming Shields, since the intro pack has a shield Keychain with no power-up included. I mean, I'm assuming that kids don't know how to scan shit on a smartphone, unless I'm REALLY fucking out of touch with the times.
>>5364035
You know the text and pics are mixed up, right? Black Panther's the one in the jet. He's got a little headpiece with ears like what Darth Maul has.
I wouldn't mind a Doctor Who CMF series.
They could do some of the other popular doctors, some companions, and some monsters.
>>5364979
>I didn't even know there was an alternate version until a few months ago:
I didn't know that until now! Damn, they sell for $20... I kind of want to collect all those old printed parts and make one awesome spaceship, but maybe not that much.
>>5365023
I don't really watch the show, but aren't there enough doctors to fill an entire set?
>>5365032
Apart from the two included in the TARDIS set, there are ten or eleven, depending on who you count, so yeah pretty much.
So they could do that. They probably would, too. I think monsters and some of the more popular companions would be nice though.
I don't watch it anymore but I'm just disappointed that the IDEAS set doesn't have the same minifigures as the original submission.
>>5365032
12 doctors in total plus some extras who are not credited.
>>5365032
>>5365023
There's twelve doctors who each already have a design according to dimensions. That leaves only 4 spaces for companions or enemies. Of course there's no stopping them from having a different number of figures in a series, but that seems that an expensive niche franchise.
Not to mention the first and twelfth doctor, Clara, a Cyberman, and a Weeping Angel are all already in production.
>>5364996
That is a serious undertaking my friend. Good luck.
>>5365055
They could go the CB route where they release all the doctors in one big box set and then with the series of figures have the daleks and such.
>>5365059
Dropped my picture
>>5365005
Nexo Knights is teaching kids to do just that, anon.
>>5365055
Don't forget the thirteenth, anon. The War Doctor.
>>5365055
More accurately, 12 plus 1, since the War Doctor is in Dimensions. Leaving three slots. I could see a Doctor Who monsters series, but it would exclude Daleks unless they made a simpler version.
>>5365075
Which sixteen monster would they put into an all-monster series of Who minifigs?
Who will make some Hateful Eight mocs? Just watched it last night.
>>5365083
Going off of Dimensions, we have: Sontarans, the evil Snowmen, Zygons, Silurians, Cybermen, Ice Warriors, the Silents, Ood, Judoon, and Weeping Angels. Oh, and the Clockwork Robots, for a total of eleven.
>>5365103
Of course I forgot the Autons.
>>5365094
I enjoyed that movie. Roth's performace stood out to me, especially that scene with Chris Mannix and that letter.
