So when are the castle Mixels sold? Before the pirate Mixels?

Pic related, it's me and my sweet baby.
>>

I second this anons question, this is important as I will be near at least THREE dollar generals tomorrow, and if they have any of the knockoff star wars shit I am so buying them out.
>>
>>5353526
Yes. The castle (Medivals), cops (MCPD), and music (Mixies) all come out January, before the doctors, pirates, and firefighters.

Hey guys Star Wars figure collector here again, went to an acquaitance house who has effectively abandoned Lego Star Wars to focus on his WWII MOCs and said take all of his SW stuff, I told him "I cant take all this man, I'll take what I need but not everything man" So I got like 34 figures and a 06' X wing with the 2012 Jedi Interceptor
>>
>>5353563
you lucky cunt. If anything, that shaak-ti figure goes for quite a bit on her own (I just bought the jedi ship to get her, they were selling the figure alone for like $20+, got the ship for $50. Pretty great build and nice looking ship.)
>>
>>5353608
I got to admit I was a bit alarmed when he said to take everything, I actually did take what he had, which I refused, It could have easily 2doubled if not tripled my overall collection, but he was an army builder type and had a large amount of figures frm TCW, which I am not really a fan of.
>>
>>5353563
That grievous cape makes me rock solid.
>>
>>5353612
Damn dude, you didnt think ahead then. Bricklink that shit, or ebay, whichever. Hell, if you felt bad about taking his shit, you could have gotten him a gift cert to wherever so he could buy some extra shit for his current builds with part of the proceeds.
>>
>>5353612
>>5353636
Crap typo, what I meant was that if I actually DID take what he had it wouldve doubled/tripled my collection, but there was no way I was gonna take all of that from someone.

Seriously, I want the astromechs, the Senate Commandos, the Mando'a, Pre Vizsla, Shaak Ti, Ki-Adi Mundi, and the celebration Luke and Han.

Does anybody have photos or experience of/with Friends hair on regular minifigures?

This is all I can find.

If you do it, would you recommend it?
>>
>>5353688
Yeah they're interchangeable, the only problem with Friends hair pieces is they're all rubber, though regular minifig hairpieces are going the same way anyway bit by bit.

Also they tend to have holes to peg in like tiaras and ribbons and shit.

But they all fit each other.
>>
>>5353688
I think I have some.
It's pretty okay. Generally the two are compatible and Lego probably wouldn't like it if the two weren't compatible.

>inb4 the inflation guy comes along and tells us lego is cheaper than ever
The licensed stuff is a bit more pricey of late but it can be accounted to the more specialized parts and molds and such. Dimensions is a great example of this.
>>
>>5353846
the've been all over the place, but the trans-orange specifically were in a few of the Titan sets

I think Roodaka was one that had them, as eyes

but dimensions is selling more than just the bricks, though
>>
>>5353807
In case you didn't know, there's a new version of Obi-Wan's interceptor coming out next year. You might want to wait for that.
>>
>>5353848
Ah, figured as much since the Hero Factory sets I got my brother and I 2 years ago didn't seem as pricey.
I guess the lack of sticker printing and all that makes for quite a bit more effort in the production department.

Also hope Dimensions maybe gets some stuff from older Lego sets, like Racer or Life on Mars.
>>
>>5353865
That's why I want the set though, I'd like to have both of them. The battle of coruscant is one of my favorite sequences in star wars.

And the quality is no different (unless she had a light saber, but she doesnt, so there ya go.)
>>
>>5353884
Have they gotten to TFA stuff yet? I haven't been paying attention to what's new with the bootleggers.
>>
>>5353887
Oh GOD yes, man. Hell,, I bit the bullet and bought a bunch of shit from chinks on ali baba about a month ago (whole order was like $30, got a v-wing, a bb-8 AND Kylo Ren, and some other random shit) and was VERY impressed by the quality. Only thing that was off were the lightsaber blade colors. My chink Kylo has a SALMON colored saber as opposed to the full red that my official one came with, and my Revans saber is a little lighter than the official red blades. Seriously, look into it man, especially since Phasma doesnt even have a fucking printed face yet.

I was actually just looking for an excuse to fix all my dodgy lightbricks, and remembered that there was probably enough space in the Gingerbread house to mount one (or three).

PROTIP: If they flicker or only flash on for half a second, then they probably just need to be taken apart and have the contacts tweaked. Even on lightbricks that worked fine, I still had to do that in order for the roof of the house to keep them switched on.

What's a good gift for a 14 year old boy (nephew who's into Lego)? I'm a figuarts guy and haven't bought a Lego set in a long while.

Also I might as well ask, what's a good set to get if I want to get back into it?

Im making an army, we're talking a big army as I've never made one before, and i've got a lot of money to burn.

Star Wars Battelfront based army or First Order based army?

Im torn between which to choose, I very much like consistency but I really am a huge fan of the new movie and really like the new trooper designs and even more excited for things to come.

My worry though is that the new troopers wont be timeless and will die down and be considered a trend over a couple of years, while the old stormtrooper design is incredibly recognizable and will always have a nostalgic value to them.

I'm thinking long term here, very long term.
>>
>>5355962
Don't worry about timelessness. The prequels are terrible, and yet the Clone Troopers they introduced can andnare regarded as neat designs.

The FO troopers are neat too, and whatever aesthetic changes happen to SW in the future, they'll remain as cool as they are today.

I suggest picking up the FO pack. (And it's the one that will be less likely to find later in the year, so grab em first)
>>
>>5355972
*can and are

Also the Battlefront Stormies have that damage print that won't look good in big numbers. I'm waiting to see what battle packs 2017 will bring; hopefully Rogue One inspires some clean OT troopers.

The identical battle damage on the Battlefront set is pretty damn stupid.
First Order is somewhat better but you're only getting one standard trooper.

75078 is the best current option for building a large number.
>>
>>5355941
The design is nice but the figures are pretty bland. The flame troopers look dumb and I couldn't care less about Captain Five-Minutes-of-Screentime.

I guess I'll just Bricklink one without the figs and wait for the battle packs to crew it

TIE Interceptor Problem.png
2MB, 1375x816px
I'm experiencing a problem with my attempt to build a TIE Interceptor out of the First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter. I've got the basic wing structure, which I largely copied from a post I found on imgur but fixed up so that it wasn't using questionable/illegal builds. The problem is that the wings don't stay in position at the proper angles - they flop closed. The pieces I have left are minimal, as I'm trying to only use pieces from the set itself.

Anyone have any advice/solutions?

Here are bigger versions of the associated pictures: http://imgur.com/a/VCqMW

Sorry to say but you probably won't be able to accomplish this task using the set alone.
>>
>>5356061

That looks pretty good. What you need to do is put some kind of piece in the corners of the hinge so that they stay propped up at the right angle. LEGO does that on some of their models. Or replace them with click-hinges.

I am afraid of getting into Star Wars minifig collection because there are so many for that genre.

At least with Super Heroes its limited to mostly different variations of the same DC/Marvel characters they have done since forever.

Both. I don't know about everyone else, but I love the idea of diversity between ranks in my custom little lego battalion. I'm using average stormtroopers as the grunts, First Order stormtroopers as the sergeants then going up the line, finding excuses for why and such. For example, at the moment I'm compiling a list of explanations on the differences between trooper armour styles to combat my ocd/autism/whatever it is. If you want an excuse for there being both types, set your in-universe timeframe as the 30 or so years transition from the remenants of the empire to the first order.

Also, is anyone else rustled that the battlefront style shocktrooper isn't in Rebels stormtrooper style? I honestly think the rebelstroopers look more imposing in lego style than the older varients, not to mention how easy they are to amass with the troop transport. I love the red markings but it's going to be difficult for me to find an excuse as to why the helmet's a tad different other than the markings.
>>
Someone please give me a reason (other than price) not to buy the First Order TIE fighter? I love it but I won't be able to make it fit in with my other sets which'll drive my armybuilding (is it armybuilding if you get vehicles and plan on making a base?) based ocd go a bit loopy.

Unless you contact the maker directly, chances are low. MOC builders rarely put instructions up -- not because they're withholding jerks, but because they don't really think about that unless people ask.

Hey lego gen, I don't post here often, but I need help. I'm not expecting much, but in case there's some charitable anon out there then $75 to my PayPal ([email protected]) would be greatly appreciated.

Poe's X-Wing would be too similar to Resistance X-Wing this wave, and there's already two TIE fighters, and the main body is very similar on the both.

If it's 5x, be creative and build a sweet ass divided canopy.

This is just my retarded wishlist that I know Lego and Disney won't do because separating the characters into larger sets = $$$$ but it wouldn't hurt to post it.

A Jakku invasion set with Phasma, Two Stormtroopers, Poe and BB-8. Have no idea what could be included other than maybe Poe's first X-Wing or just some collapsible scenery. MAYBE Lor San Tekka and his hut, but that's not really all that interesting.

An $80 Resistance Base set would be nice. They could include a buildable holo map, R2 in his low power mode (because it's insane he hasn't been in a single set or polybag yet) Rey in her second outfit, Poe, Leia in her blue outfit, two resistance officers, BB-8 and Kaydel Ko with blonde Leia buns.

And maybe an $80 Starkiller Base set too. Could just be the bridge area, the huge balcony type wall Finn, Rey and Chewie were at during the climax, a small snowy forest area that splits in half, battle damaged Kylo Ren, Finn, Rey, Chewie, Han, Hux (with a very downscaled Snoke printed on a brick) and two Stormtroopers.

And incorporate an exclusive Luke minifig in a polybag or with a video game or DVD or something. 0% chance of that scene getting it's own set.

What set is this mining from?

New Nexo Knights minifig packs, not yet available in US.

Check previous threads for a breakdown, but basically they come with a minifig of a character, extra equipment for them, Nexo powers on their shields, and a "stand" built out of bricks that holds these parts and the fig.

The figure there is Lavaria, one of several lava monsters summoned by the villain Jestro. She's not the only lady villain, either.
Nexo Knights looks to be a top-tier theme for waifus.
>>
>>5357970

I got Big Ben a while back and for some reason really like the sets, but I will admit that yeah, for the silhouette you get or whatever they are pretty pricey. Some are actually alright, but the bigger ones elevate in price pretty fast.
>>
>>5358465

I think Lavaria and Beast Master will be genuine villains that Jestro will work with. The monsters from the book seem simple minded.

This is such a beautiful set. I like how they had three roofs that are all built differently. The one with garage doors used as tiles is especially good.

Backward, of course. 4x2 half-wedge bricks with the long angle facing in should cradle the back of it for a nice seal.

http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=87606#T=C

Backwards again. Might be too short to fit over the fig's head, but if it's resting on the big curved slopes the open back end should match or fit slightly over the 45-degree stuff at the front.

>Anyone got any good suggestions for decent-looking horse legs at this scale?

By the looks of it you're probably gonna wanna make the upper thighs? on the back legs a bit thicker. But other than that what you've got now is actually pretty good.

Much like you did, I also found that working on digitigrade legs(I think that's the right term) at this particular scale is a total pain in the ass. I came up with pic related a while ago. They were meant to be legs for Blade Wolf but I've upped the scale of model since then so this design isn't much use to me now. So I thought I'd share, maybe you could get some inspiration or some other use out of them.

And you definitely wouldn't want to go for snap joints at this scale, like you said, they would be way too bulky. As for the overuse of mixel joints, I wouldn't fret too much about it. There's nothing inherently wrong about them, and if they're good for the scale that you're working at then there's really no reason not to use them.

Wow, and after all the fooling around I'd done with Tattun's type I hadn't thought to use a combo like that. Thanks pal.

Meanwhile, another thing I finished in the meantime.

Her torso is very similar to giant bee lady's and she uses Hugebricks' boulder cup again but I'm not that satisfied with her. I get the impression she'd be more articulate IRL than in LDD owing to her double-ball-joint arms, and like giant bee lady her legs aren't quite satisfactory either. He legs also use ball joints as opposed to snap joints, and, though positioned to give more than 45º of leg articulation, only give a little bit over that. At her size, though, single rather than double snap joints could theoretically work out for her.

Rear heel part idea was just stealing from NSSD again, but his figures are smaller, good point. I came up with another, much more stable version of the heel anyways using an upside down axle brick and a 1x2 cheese slope, it'd work fine.

Her torso is rather smaller than bee lady's, which makes her look like a shortstack, I guess? Oh well. Two interesting experiments, at least.

Get one of the chink knock offs. I paid about $1.25 for mine, and other than the plastic feeling a little different, and his saber blade being an off color, hes the same as the official one. Paints good, joints are good, def worth it. His cape was even cloth as opposed to the paper capes.

Well I mean the only other thing that happens is Kylo Ren's shuttle comes along and the village is blown up. Lego probably won't do it because you can easily just make it with Poe's x wing, Kylo's shuttle and a transporter or 2.

And Mos Eisley Cantina if you want buildings.

Personally, it's not even about the fetish, it's about the character building. Don't get me wrong, the fetish is some of the reason I build the characters I do, but it's certainly not my entire driving force. Hell, the majority of my mocs don't even have tits. To me, characters are just way more fun and dynamic compared to most other things buildable. Like a spaceship's just gonna sit there, look pretty and collect dust once you're done building it. But characters can be posed and animated to really bring them to life.

But look if you don't get it, you don't get it, and that's fine. Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz.
