>DAMNIT LEGO!!!!
That's the entire draw to me. That they went and tried their best to replicate a upscaled minifigure with existing parts.
If it were just a giant minifigure, i wouldn't care. The novelty is all gone.
>>
>>5345498
Can't Giantman become whatever size he wants within reason? Scale shouldn't be a problem.
>>
>>5345514
I guess. I just was just thinking it would make look better if he was towering over it. Rather than smaller or the same height.

I can't imagine, on BL prices are like stocks I guess, they'll only rise if people continuely buy them and if it had a high IPO, but since no one has been pretty interested and the set he came in was cheap to begin with, probably not. I also wasnt actively looking for Lobot, more so I was actually looking for a Biggs Darklighter, and this guy happened to have Wedge Antilles, itsa really rare for me to find a dealer that has all the figures I am looking for at the moment.

That was the last episode, so you haven't missed anything in the meantime! This week's game is the third installment of Cleft 18:

Since when did lego delete the ''bricks and pieces'' section on lego.shop?

This sucks big time, because it was a cheap option to get some nice/rare bricks or minifig parts.

>>
>>5348467

Woah Lad... I wished I had waited for your reply, I just send a really long and stupid e-mail to lego.

>>5348479
Jeah it's way better then pick a brick. You can type a set number and buy almost every piece from it(except for most licensed mini-fig parts and some rare printed parts/stickers).

I do prefer it over Bricklink, just because they have so many pieces and the shipping is dirt cheap(so you save money on not making multiple orders at different stores).
>>
>>5348482
Darth Revan on the right, Sith Warrior on the Left
>>
>>5348523
I'm glad I learned this before I started doing my first ever moc, have one planned to start around January.

How do the prices compare to brick link anyway? Do they also sell rare pieces like stuff that only ever appeared in one set and one color?
>>
>>5348526
its pretty limited IMO compared to BL and more expensive, but you can get lucky and find really cool pieces, my friend got the Boba Fett from the UCS slave 1

Don't you see? Giant Man is the prototype. This is how we can moc galactus or whoever. Although I'm sure lego will just do it for us in a wave or two.
>>
>>5348415
So many great parts, i dont even like angry burds but i can see myself buying some of the cheaper sets
>>
>>5348261

I really want that tiny ant-man.

qt af
>>
>>5348526

They are usually pretty cheap, I think the small and common parts are cheaper on bricklink though. But the rare parts are cheaper or around the same price on the lego store. That's why I only use it for special pieces(rare colours or new molds that are allmost in no other set), most of the common bricks and pieces I have my self allready.

Ohjeah and the thing with bricklink is, that rarely one store has all the parts that I need for a moc. And then there is also the small chance that I have to use a store from another country. So you really have to calculate the shipping cost with it.

So a big order from lego, is usually way cheaper then 5 small orders from bricklink(and less of a pain in the ass).

Hope it helps a bit and good luck with your moc(make sure to post it)

its just weapons, and theres no minifig like someone said, but the backside is clear, so you can actually see what you get

>>5348278
they're pretty legit imo. basically, if you go to their site, each bag has one "minifig" worth of accessories, their cowboy would come with like, a hat a pistol bandanna and some dynamite, like pictured. Then comes with a few alt pieces, say a rifle or two for the cowboy, or a second pistol for example. i think the gangster comes with a boring bag of money, that hat, and like 4 guns
the real only good thing is, alot of their bags here and wave two, choose some of their weirder figs, like legion here >>5348766, or a torso with two head slots

the biggest complaint though, is their color choice is completely random. you might get a purple legon, or a red one, and there might be no black ones in the box for example. that and some of the weapons look kinda shit in solid black, they REALLY need to mold some things in grey.
their gold is pretty legit though, i bought one or two of the greek dudes just for his hat.
i think they were only 4$ at my tru(the 5$ guy might be right though), so depending on what figure you get, the parts might not be worth it.
i bought one, where an anvil was the extra piece. cant be held, so its just a lump of plastic

tl;dr, they're actually better than you would expect, if you can get the right color you want

Ok, so after seeing the movie (honest, no spoilers here) I've been mulling over Kylo Ren's shuttle wings and how to fix the sliding tips.

This piece is, I think, my best idea. There would be a pair of these, grooves facing each other, and the wings built around them. This gives us a slide with a turn at the top, for the tips to move sideways (toward the outside of the wing) a brick-depth.

Problem is, only time this was available in black was one set in 1986 (6386-1 - Police Command Base)
>>
>>5349026
Anon the set is fine the only thing that needs to be changed is the colour and the wing angle.

>>

I have a feeling ALL the toy companies fucked shit up, but I believe it was becaus they were all either only given the most BASIC details, or they were given shit that was still in the concept art and design phase. Our Sphero BB-8, for instance, sounds NOTHING like he did in the movie. Theres maybe two or three of the actual sound files in him, and the rest are very generic sounding "droid" sounds. For a $150+ "toy" that is supposed to introduce this "new round RC tech" to us, thats bad form.

Made a midi/micro scale SSD in LDD. I like how it turned out, although there are those who did the outer hull better, I think. I did this only by looking at illustrations and not the UCS set, where there are others who have just made a much smaller version of how the UCS engineered the hull.

>>5349439
If you don't mind the inaccuracies to the movie i'd definitely go with Kylo's shuttle.
>>
>>5349442
It's tempting.

>>5349449
People seem quite fond of it. The main draw for Kylo's shuttle is the crazy price I could get it for and the fact that it'll probably be super rare when it's retired.

>>5349450
The wing features on Kylo's shuttle are excellent. The problem is that I'd want to do a whole bunch of the mods discussed earlier in this thread to make it more accurate. And that'd cost me a lot of money. So the benefit of getting the set so cheap is negated by the cost of modifications.
>>
>>5349450
They don't really have any thing interesting. Tydirium's interior maybe larger but Kylo's is more detailed.

I didn't mind them at all until this thread and the previous one pointed them all out and now I can't get over them.

Yeah. On a recent bricklink order I bought two "very light gray" 1x1 plates. That colour is basically perfect but extremely rare.

In Star Wars during the trench run, the x wing is gray but on dagobah it's white. Annoying

All but one piece exist in tan. The piece that doesn't happens to be the very front-end of the cockpit, which is a nightmare to replace so far.
The piece is in LDD though.

LDD is weird like that due to its part-time use as a Legoland/park builders' tool. As such, even non-extended mode has a few bricks that don't exist in it. Bricklink helps though.

For bigger lady to raise her leg in any significant way, it needs to come outwards somewhat. I'm not sure whether or not to consider this a weakness in construction. Smaller bee should theoretically be able to bend her leg above 90º but LDD won't allow this. Ah well.

This is actually my first time using Hugebricks' boulder cup in a build. I'd like to think it looks okay. I also stole the base of the heels from DawnofNSSD. Bigger lady's also somewhat lacking in that her torso is rather exposed and hollow looking, something that I'm not sure how to tackle, or if it even should be.

I had a non-responding seller early in the year, messaged them a couple times but never got an answer. Eventually the system automatically purges orders, completed or not with no consequences that I'm aware of. Was only for a couple bucks of non-essential parts anyway so it wasn't a loss to me.

Finished at least the flying mode of the micro-scale Kylo Ren shuttle.

The wings do fold in, but the mechanism is the one I was using earlier in the thread for wings half the size, so it looks pretty wonky when landed. I'm going to have to get a bit more creative to move a bigger half of the wing to the same spot.

Still, I like how the new wings turned out.

I kind of want to hollow out a part of the hull for a Kylo Ren fig to sit in, a la Microfighters

Haha, fuck, I figured out a way for it to work

Here's the end product in landed mode. I want to add landing skids on the wings to make it more accurate but anything more towards the hull ruins the ability to make a 45-degree angle, so for now I'll pass.
>>

It actually worked out way easier than I thought it would. I used two assemblies of 4275 and this guy here to connect the halves, so they actually snap perfectly at 0 degrees for flight and 180 degrees for landing. It actually looks better than what I was using previously, which was just a bunch of droid arms to move the parts.

Yeah, although since I have brain problems and want this thing to do everything, I'd want for them to retract.

I've got a method that lets them do that in flight, but it limits the wings to about 12 degrees less, which is no good.

I had totally forgotten about the skis / snowshoes though, they have a smaller profile than what I'm using at the moment.

I think I figured out why Battle of Takodana has the extra black studs.

You put them in the hole on the steps, and when you're going 'pewpewpew~' with the Stormtroopers you hit something in the back that makes the black studs pop into the air to simulate damage and a little explosion.
