Does anyone know what pieces make up this little translucent stand ? As in their ID so I could purchase them on bricklink?
Saw it on this old forum post
http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/3997/display-stands-for-ships-and-flying-minifigures
I think this is the base

>>5343232
Really cute! It's so simple and elegant!
>>5344203
#30359 shaft piece
#4740 satellite dish o16
>>5343667
I have to wonder if that catalog would contain LEGO Dimensions info too.
>>5344210
I thought for a second that it looked like more than 2 pieces.
Thanks
I really wish the Nexo Knight sets were out already.. :<
>>5344246
You mean there might be more than just the third and fourth waves? Because I really don't want unikitty or the wicked witch, but I need them.
>>5344323
Too difficult to remove, no actual use on axles as it would create an offset on bricks that would break the "system" of studs, technic, etc.
No actual use. Too few elements where such a connection would make sense, all where it -would- make sense exist as pins rather than axles.
>>5344281
This is a list of rumored sets. I have a feeling Unikitty and the Witch won't have alternatives, however.
>>5344323
That would be an insane bitch to remove from anything
>>5344341
Well that's a shame.
Tangibly related, does anyone know what the yellow tooth piece is on this? I want to build the chest minikit from dimensions but I can't find it on brickset.
Hey guys, look what I found tonight!
>>5344481
But was there lava waifu?
>>5344470

>>5344481
What's the deal with those? The weird packaging and stuff makes them look like they're something other than regular sets, but the only unique thing I can see about them is that they come with some app. Is it a Dimensions-type thing, or what?
>>5344487
There was this waifu, i picked her up as she was actually on my list for this series. I'll post pics of her put together tomorrow
>>5344502
Yeah, the packaging is weird, kind of like the new bionicle packages, but smaller. I'll find out later, but i think the only special thing is the app.
>>5344481
Oh shit!
>>5344470
It comes in gold in new elves sets.
>>5344481
Fuck. I HATE this packages. They never fit on shelves, you can't hang them because their own weight pulls them down and destroys the hanger...

Finally, after years of R&D, Lego City's bootleggers have weaponized their expansive caches of illegal cookies. Truly a great time to be alive.

yeah, im kinda the same. it doesn't really seem "good" persay, but alot of them are pretty cute
i guess the problem is kinda, A. the part count looks a bit small, and B. you have to like both of them to really be worth it
4 of those sets, is as much as something like the water elf boat, which is MUCH bigger

No possible connections to other bricks, making it difficult to integrate overall, could lead to generally weaker connections (bad for play), really big issue would be that its size would mean that bricks mounted on it could wind up breaking the stud system incidentally anyway.
>>5344935
Tyco made pieces like that. Good luck finding them!
seriously if you find them I want some too
Some guy actually asked for my bunny lady, so here she is now.

Anyone else feeling me?
Working on the LQ christmas moc challenge.
It sucks I wish I had more time to make the stuff that I planned..
>>5344935
I have a 2*2 and 2*1 double sided plate from some chinese set.
I never find a use for them.
>>5344987
Why not just wait for the Battle of Takodana? You get the unmasked face, a Finn (since you didn't get the Falcon), and a pair of Stormies.
Just wait for a Snoke hologram set for Hux.
>>5345023
You know, I tought I read somewhere that Kylo comes without his cape in that set but he does. Huh.
Well, I'm gonna go check if they have his set in a local store that has 30 % off everything tomorrow, otherwise I'll wait.
>>5344196
Hey LQ, I made something for your challenge.
Originally my plan was to host my own Lego Quest Game... with Santa Claus and his helpers trapped with a shape-shifting alien parasite....(ripping of the thing).
But I couldn't find the time this week, to actually do it unfortunately.
Here is the setting and some of the figures I made for it. Don't know if that counts as a MOC, but I hope you enjoy it. I defently had fun doing it, allthough I kept knocking stuff over...
>>5345045
also made a version to make it look more like a recorded christmas tv special.

I just realized something super weird about this.
Antman comes in giant and micro but no normal minifig with his new suit.
However the giant man fig comes with the old suit design instead so you can use the scott lang from the other set . Still weird as fuck they just didnt have all 3 sizes of Scott in the new suit!

>>5345464
Kylo is a giant pussy and the wings don't flop.
>>5345451
>grill with cover
neat.
>>5345464
It's an ugly set that misrepresents the ship with bad colour choices, shitty wings and bad proportions all round.
Still think it's a cool set though, Kylo is anakin but with a mask so you can't see/hear how shit he's acting.
>>5345464
Wings don't fold out like they're supposed to.
Can be modded but that price hurts and for a Kylo that doesn't have a unmasked head underneath.
Tho now that we've seen him unmasked and he's an edgy teen faggot he's better with mask on.

>>5345494
Cool helicopter, blue hair waifu, power armor dude and Antispiral.
What's not to like?
Anon who asked about building 2hus last thread here. I actually started building this earlier with actual bricks, but reinstalled LDD because I don't really have the parts to do so. This is also my first time taking screenshots in LDD, so I figure I could improve on that.
Anyways, thoughts?
Remember, you need to be exactly 62 years old to play with Crossbones.
>Go to local toy store
>look around the shelves
>"meh, nothing- is that Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor?"

fuck.
Well at least I got one of those Galactic Empire packs.
And the First Order Transporter.
And Jabba's Sail Barge the other day.
>>5345266
Fucking scalefag.
>>5345591
Post pictures please
>>5345599
1/2
I'm sorry for the shit pictures, but I can't get any better ones at 1:20.
>>5345610
Just a different angle.
I put the Crewman from the Special Forces TIE fighter into the transporter's cockpit, he fits in but has to lean back due to his helmet shape.
The construct that comes with the Galactic Empire Battle Pack is beyond pitiful and I don't like the shadow trooper's speeder either. The figures rock though.
>>5345613
>he buys battle packs for something other than figures
>>5345613
Also >>5345520
>>5345614
I don't, obviously. Although I liked the build that came with the clones vs. droidekas battle pack, I have one of those still built up next to my AT-TE.
And I wouldn't mind the turret that comes with the New Order battle pack, since it actually featured in the movie albeit in a much huger scale.
>>5345232
I just figured out one way to do it, thanks for the inspiration
>>5345232

>>5345489
>5345351

Republic Drive-by.
>>5345686
>implying it's better that we "get" to see his sorry mug
Although granted, it's probably gonna be less expensive.
Treated myself to 3 new sets yesterday
>>5345703
Do you have any 6 inch figures to compare this with? Not necessarily Star Wars.
What's the common way to refer to a build that appears on a set's box and in its instructions?
>>5345726
I'm not sure, unless the bigger black series figures are 6 inches tall, it's been so long since I bought those that I've forgotten all about action figure scales.
>>5345686
>finally a black male fig that isn't mace windu, cyborg or war machine
Now we just need a black female who isn't storm
does he appear in any other, smaller/cheaper sets?

otherwise he's only in the Falcon.

>>5345760
>bought last falcon before retiring for the hype
>not a week later the new version was announced

>>5345760

Went on a shopping binge and bought some minifigs.
Antman
Spider-man
Cap
Iron Man
Iron Patriot
Thor
Flash
Deadpool
Anyone else I should get?
What are the best looking DC/Marvel minifigs ?
Which is better?
>>5345734
The bigger, blacker series is indeed 6-inch.
>>5345800
I like the right one more.
>>5345812
Right, sorry for the messy pics, I'm doing a little check-up on all my figures. At 3 in the morning.
>>5345610
>>5345613
It's a giant brick but I actually like the Transport.
>>5345838
Are the helmets hq? They always seem to look cheap in the photos, especially phasma
>>5345838
I only buy Lego Sets I like enough to keep complete, although sometimes my interest later vanes and I do end up re-selling or destroying them.
So I obviously like the brick too, it's probably got something to do with how I like the Omaha beach scenes from pretty much any vidya and movie. I wish we got a new incredible cross sections book or at least some good shots of the thing so I could see how the top deck is supposed to look because I hate the spring-loaded shooters and the stud-things. Doesn't look like it would be too hard to re-do the fake door and make a real interior in the back.
>>5345842
Looking at especially Phasma's helmet, it looks very good to me.
Anyone have the bricklink links to the Darevil minifig and the dark blue Captain America helmet with the A on it that are seen in this pic?
>>5345842
I love the helmets. They feel great and look really detailed in person.
>>5345844
Yea when I sit down and get my giant tub of Lego's out of storage I plan to update the Transport and some other set's like combining Avengers Towers, Update Quinjet and Milano.
I got bored and gave my Phasma a face and hair and i'm working on a nicer gun for her.
>>5345885
Phasma's face is good but needs a lighter yellow hair.
>no official Lego war theme
I understand why, but it would be cool
>>5345890
Yea I like the blondeish but kinda wanted her more redhead but don't have any good red hair pieces.
>>5345885
I kind of don't like how much of a non-character Phasma is.
>>5345667
Thanks for that handle bar tip really makes to look a lot better, so simple i dont know why i didnt think of it myself, tried the spoiler thing too but it looked to clunky
>>5345900
She's Boba Fett 2.0.
That legit made me super disappointed. Same with Kylo's face and attitude.
>>5345918
Kylo...
Actually no spoilers.
>Looking through my figures
>there's Agent whoever from rebels
>he's been doing nothing but wear his helmet and stand on my minifigure plate
>take his helmet off
>some of his massive sideburn print has worn off
Whyyyyyy
>>5345918
Kylo legit had some autistic tendency's. His tantrums were top notch.
>>5345863
Most of these are custom, fanmade. You won't likely find them on Bricklink.
>>5345923
No like not a Spoiler.
Just she barely says any words in the movie apparently.
She's Boba Fett 2.0 because she looks badass but doesn't say anything nearly.
>>5345929
I haven't seen it yet but seeing him unmasked absolutely destroyed the character for me. He looks like some emo edgy teen hot topic kid.
>>5345942
He looks like the actor. This shouldn't be earth-shattering, especially considering Empire releasing an image of the character unmasked months ago.
>>5345942
HE IS A EMO EDGY TEEN, its the whole point!
>>5345942
You should go see the movie then. He's "No one cared who I was until I put on the mask"/10.
>>5345960
Is he also a pretty big guy?
>>5345976
No he's fucking tiny.

>>5345632
holy shit these are out now? Where?
>>5345402
so what are they calling the enemies? Knowing TLC, they probably aren't 'demons'
>>5346003
Found it at Barnes and Nobles, I think they had all but 1 of the knights, may go back and get another one cus it's pretty cool
>>5346006
Lava monsters. The little blobs are made of lava, the balls with faces are lava, all of the first-wave enemies are lava-themed.
Except for Jestro and the Book of Monsters, which I presume are gonna stay and summon differently-themed monsters every year.
>>5346011
Have you tried the accompanying app? It's already out.
>>5346032
I haven't, I may later on though. I like the shields which I guess are the parts you use? They're really neat little pieces
>>5345558
Chin generally -should- be a normal 1x1. I used to think, like you, that it'd be better to try to use a 1x1 tile for the mouth but a 1x1 plate really makes a world of difference and its smoothness holds the look of the face together better than the tile.
Back of head is looking like a bit of a clusterfuck, I'd like to see more of it. I usually use full bricks for hair as it makes things easier, though plates with side-stud bricks can work too.
I usually also add two 1x2 tiles to the bottom of the head. If the hair is low enough, which it usually is, it'll block most view of the tiles, allowing the head to be a little more structurally stable in exchange for a super minor detraction to looks that'd likely go unnoticed IRL.
Torso I'd suggest using two 2x2 round plates and a balljoint axle peg to start the torso and legs. It's a connection that works IRL and the technic ball joint axle and pin are in general super useful.
Are you planning on building her IRL? If so godspeed.
I just grabbed the geonosis battle pack for the cool troopers.
2 things:
1) Are they Imperial or Clones?
2) Is there a way to improve the leg design without making it as wide as it is already?
>>5346133
Oh yeah, also, do NOT use the female 1x2 mixel joint plates. That shit kills articulation as you're about to use them. The arm design I usually wind up using, with a male joint, 1x2 lengthwise female joint, and 1x4 hinge provides a lot of articulation, which is important.

you will understand that when you see the movie

>>5346133
I'm planning on building her for real at some point. Main issues on that is that I don't have any/enough of certain pieces and Bricklink looks more complicated to use than it probably should be.
Anyways, here's a picture I made of how things went since the last post. Pretty happy with how the hair turned out, but I should probably redesign the limbs and skirt.
>>5346175
Bricklink only looks daunting at the start, it isn't that bad and once you get going you'll regret not using it sooner.
>>5346175
It really isn't. It really, seriously is so simple it's not even funny. All you need is PayPal. With a proper wishlist and some luck you could build her easy, $10-20 tops.
>>5346175
Double replying here but the one thing I'd do is add at least a 1x2 to the back of the legs so they don't fall apart too easily. That, and maybe choose a larger plate for the side hair, as it is a little bit of "skin" is exposed. Good work though.
>a nice lady and her son sold me Lego via a garage sale ad on Craigslist
>Son kept it in pristine condition, obviously enjoyed and played with it a lot, but still nice and complete
>I ask why she was selling all of them
>It's because they're downsizing because the dad won't be able to work for a while, she was vague about it, so I'm assuming it's some dangerous work-related accident shit
>Son obviously not wanting to let it go, because as he sold it to me, he explained what the pieces were and how they work and other fine details like how I should be careful when removing the pieces so that I don't damage the bricks, etc.
>I wanted to buy everything since she was selling them for a fair price.
>Turns out, I got beat by some guy in about half the sets about a couple minutes earlier
>Look up Craigslist again, hours later, and see the same sets the guy bought, but marked up to a high degree
>"PERSONAL COLLECTION, THIS IS A SET THAT COMES FROM A SMOKE FREE HOME, PIECES ARE INTACT, NO DAMAGE AND INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED, JUST NO BOX"
>then some descriptions that sounded like that it came from the son's mouth itself

I don't really get mad over Lego, but holy fuck does it infuriate me whenever shit like that happens
How soon do you guys think they'll start rolling out more accurate sets from TFA now that it has premiered, like a First Order Star Destroyer, or other scenes from the movie?
>>5346194
I don't know what to say.
How do people live like this?
>>5346194
That's rough
>>5346183
I'm trying to figure out a way to add the braids without the connections sticking out too much.
I also went ahead and made a couple of changes to the limbs you suggested.
>>5344569

>>5346240
But will it be playable? It looks all nice but cabin.
>>5346175
I can walk you through it if you like, the world needs more Reimu.
>>5346257
Did some tests on my pisaki and it should be playable and with the cabin I can't really think of another way without using the official part which does not cover it fully.
>>5346268
Sure, if you want to. I'm not sure on how to go at the skirt anyways.
>>5346343
Basically, go to bricklink and make an account, then click "Buy lego" on their homepage, then select your country (because the shipping will probably be lower), next pick a store with a high number next to it (the number of pieces listed). Read their store terms eg. "$8 minimum order".
go through the parts you want (you can click on the piece in LDD and it'll tell you the part number to search), type the number you want and "add to cart".
Once that's done and you click checkout you wait for an email from them with a grand total and an email address to send it to. log into the paypal website and find "send money" "pay for goods" something like that. Put in the email address they said and the amount and put your order number in the notes, and that's it basically.
Also there's a program called brickficiency where you can make a list of parts you want and it'll scrub the entire site and generate which stores have all or most of the parts you wanted for the lowest price.

Very nice. I like how the cockpit looks like an extension of the nose instead of sticking up out of the body like in the official sets. The nose could maybe use a bit of work, though. Those plates on the sides that extend a bit past the curved part kind of bug me.
>>5346388
I was disappointed in TFA for not having a bunch of cool new vehicles. Kylo's ship and the snowspeeders (Which are barely even seen in the movie) are the only ones I like, and they're just okay.
>>5346388
Non-Poe X-Wing.
But that's it yeah. Kind of bummed there weren't more designs. Should have had a bomber, maybe a light cruiser as well.
FO needed a mid-sized ship too.

>>5346614
I wish I could see what his changes were a little better.
Also I didn't really think the ship was THAT dark in the movie.
>>5346617
It is and the wings also slide in not to the side.
>>5346618
In the movie they literally slide down the inside of the large wing sections. The LEGO is actually more accurate it just uses a bulky ass mechanism where in the movie the wingtips float seamlessly over the bottom part. It was the first thing I focused on when it took off for the first time.
>>5346618
>the wings also slide in not to the side
What? No, I mean what did he actually do with the bricks to have them do that.
>>5346614
Great mod, The ship looks AWESOME now but it just makes me wanna get the set even less because those pieces probably cost atleast 30-40 bucks.
>>5346623
Yeah curious if he just built it in black or replaced specific parts
>>5346625
I'm guessing he replaced all parts that's visible with black ones. So probably quite alot of the parts in the set.

Hello lads

Which one?
This
http://brickset.com/sets/60092-1/Deep-Sea-Submarine
or this?
http://brickset.com/sets/75112-1/General-Grievous
thanks for answers.
>>5346647
oops sorry didn't meant to post this a reply.
>>5346476
Yeah pretty much.
>>5346647
If your nephew likes Star Wars, then definitely Grievous. The guy is £30, but is huge - about as tall as 1/6th scale collectibles. He has a great range of motion and looks very accurate.
I bought the guy as a parts pack, but was tempted into building him and he was so good I had real trouble taking him apart.
>>5346534
Thanks. I think she'd make a good first build, she's really simple but still looks good.
>>5346585
I still love that giant bastard.
>>5346343
>>5346357 has a very good way of doing it, I usually pick out the parts I need via the catalog.
I thought the way you'd done the skirt so far was pretty nice. A solution could be to use some clip plates to "extend" the reach of the skirt around the legs. What I usually end up doing is building a sideways-oriented crotch with connections for the skirt built into it. It usually works, but you only get around ~4 skirt connections the way I like to do it.
Old picture, but it shows what I mean.
>>5345224
It doesn't have one, the picture just has that lego bill shooped into the hand of the gigantic posable minifigure that's been available for a while.
Can anyone suggest a use for these apart from trees?
I've tried using them as arches but they always look wrong. The colour suggests wood but wood doesn't form arches.
>>5346805
Uhmmm...
Spaceship parts?
>>5346805
Wheel cowlings, scoop parts, chest and neck parts for fuckhuge stuff, boat parts, supplements to wings, etc.
>>5346805
>>5346743
I was more worried about the gaps it had.
>>5346805
These were always arches first, tree branches second for me. Use them like the rafters on the inside of buildings in Skyrim. If you've got grey ones, double them up and use them for the your gargoyles to perch on.
Turning them around or on their sides gives them a lot of uses for non-building stuff as well.
Instead of thinking of them as a tree, think of pieces as more individual parts with no ideas attached to them as to what they're "supposed to" be. It's the best way to get creative use out of your pieces in general.
>>5346210
>i would've thought the gingerdeadman would've won but cool beans for the winner anyway.
Like I said, I had a really hard time picking the winner. Usually there's one picture that's immediately my favorite, but this was tough.

>>5346925
in all honesty these architect sets cant really be classed as lego in its traditional sense,
>>5347145
>it doesn't grow that way though does it?
No, the wood is cut and treated to make it more pliable, and then kept wet and slowly bent into the arc. After that it's left to "cure" until it dries into a permanent curve. People have been making curved wooden archways, beams, etc. for probably thousands of years.
>>5347145
>in all honesty these architect sets cant really be classed as lego in its traditional sense,
They're a lot like Modulex, which came with its own Kragle.

Still working on the skirt. Seriously tempted to just make the front and back then build the sides onto the legs right now.
>>5345800
I like the new one, but I understand the love for the original one.
Are there any Nexus Knight sets that have the new shield piece in white? I want to finish off my custom McQuarrie stormtrooper.
Got the First Order Battlepack.
I'm giving it an F for the sake of being a battlepack with 4 different minifigs.
The heavy trooper is cool, but not something I wanna amass. It has the angry clone-face (seems that any stormtrooper these day has it) I'm gonna repurpose him into the Riot Trooper with the baton and shield.
The ducktrooper is great, gonna get a whole gang of these.
I don't like the guy in black with the silly helmet, these guys are everywhere in the LEGO sets yet I never saw them in the movie.
The other black guy is meh, but his hat is nice and props for a dark-skinned with a single-sided face!
The turbolaser is cute, but it's a shame that it only has a single turret
>>5347314
The battlepack is definitely annoying. I don't understand why LEGO is pushing those First Order crew(funny helmet dudes) so hard. Maybe because they made a new mold for it?
I did see one in the movie though, from behind during one of the scenes where General Hux was standing around frowning(spoilers).
>>5347320
Not really sure that's a spoiler, I don't think Hux is ever NOT frowning
>HATE RESISTANCE
>>5347330

It makes more sense if you've read the poem:

>>5347294
If you're at that point with the skirt it seems like it wouldn't be a problem simply to attach the torso you have finished to the existing parts.
>>5346984
11,000ish pieces, apparently.
>>5347376
I did manage to modify it into something I think looks good, though. Had to change the way the of of the skirt's sides are built to keep it at a similar angle to the rest of the skirt.
I also found a way to get the braids in.
>>5347386

>>5346139
1) They're Phase II (Ep. III) clones, which look about halfway between Phase I and stormies. The helmets on two of them are taken from the Utapau Troopers set in 2014, which were based on the 2nd Airborne Company (the SW equivalent of HALO or HAHO units). I have no idea why all 4 didn't have the same helmet, except to make it more unique (unique != desirable).

So I'm thinking about trying to rebuild my First Order TIE Fighter into a TIE Interceptor. Think it has the right pieces to do it without needing extra?
>>5348268
Well, the set is different enough that I can't just follow the example of this mod from TIE Fighter to TIE Interceptor. I just tried and there's just too many differences in pieces to be able to do it with just the pieces in the set, sadly. A shame, it's a nice mod.
