The amount of collateral damage that a careless battlemage can accrue over the course of their careers is astounding. Friendly fire, missed shots, unexpected reactions, reactions, and even frustrated venting all wind up costing us in resources, time, and effort.

I've made it my job to follow in the path of the most destructive, haphazard members of our orders and study their means, their spellcraft, and develop countermeasures to streamline their rampages into precision destruction of the detritus. Girthquake learned his Dark Shard/Quake amalgam method from someone else he says, so it's only fitting that I started with his effects to place wards and spell nullifications on Dark Shards and Inertial Projectiles in order to form point-defense shields and minimize the number of pointless concussions our forces take for siding with madmen and ham-fisted evokers.

I joined the Faint runners, much as I'll be spending a lot of my time shadowing the Dust Knights; I can't quite keep up with them yet, but I can circle around to soft targets and high-risk assets on our side to ensure that nothing we care about gets smashed to bits with their passing.

I regret asking for a more offensive post now. We succeeded, but it was a near thing; Faint runners were the only ones who'd get there in time and we were seeing the field dropping as a combined effort shattered the crystals stabilizing the portal as it was forming.

Shutting down a Det-Gall was the highlight of my year though. I think it even tried to do a Dash and Blast and landed in my Spellbreaker Shard field. The others jumped on it after we all heard the damn thing's legs shatter on impact.

Like Bane meets Senator Armstrong in terms of fighting style/genius but without the wacky ideologies of either. Probably something like Captain Cold in terms of character; an anti-villain. Puts on airs of being hard hearted and selfish, but deep down he's got a code of honor and a heroic streak. Robbing banks or slightly shady mercenary work are one thing, but pretty much always switches to helping the good guys when something properly serious shows up. Probably ends up becoming a proper hero of some kind later on his characters life cycle and joins an actual hero group.

I call it Albrect von Lavis 'the Aloof.'

Idea is to eventually keep making a main floating island bigger and bigger over time and terraform it to suit whatever needs arise. Skeletal workers to farm and in general assist.
If the need to fight arises or just bored enough to seek one show up with a wall of Gryphon riding skeletons clad in magic equipment and surrounded by a tornado of stones. Assuming rock swarm can be added to armor as enchantment. Or bind armor for that matter. Maybe just makes a sword seek its target a bit better?

Psykers use their bodies and while powerful, is more dangerous and they are prone to exploding and taking everyone nearby with them. Psionics just have their heads pop. I'd use a hood in either case.

Time for autismal level of detail.

I want to be that unit that the player often doesn't even realize is recruitable. I show up relatively early on as an overpowered red unit that isn't anywhere near the chapter objective, and despite being a unique unit, cannot be spoken to. Also, I show up with a crew of weaker wyvern riders. Kinda like Vaida in 7. Later on in a "meanwhile with the villains" scene, if I survived, it'll be mentioned that me and my crew of wyvern riders are mercenaries working for the villain. In a later scene, I abandon the villain with my crew due to getting screwed out of our pay, and show up in another chapter as green units, bow hunted on the side by the villain since desertion means death. If the Lord reaches me and speaks to me, I'll make a wager that I can kill more enemies than they can, and if I win, I take whatever cash the enemies have and they let me leave in peace, and if they win, they can have the enemy's funds and I'll work for them at the low, low price of room and board. If I then survive to the end of the chapter, the player either recruits me and gains 2000 gold, or I disappear for most of the game, only to be recruitable for 10000 gold in a side chapter. If I'm dead, the player just gets 2000 gold.

With Strong Start and Stronker, I'm probably one of those units that can easily become a crutch to a player if given decent equipment, since I'm both a high starting level and have great stats and growths. Multiplayer lets me chill out during Rest Breaks with other fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls, and Waifu Emblem + Elements is required to get meme stats like Rutger's 101% crit build.

Some "choose the setting's setting" is interesting but then you'd have to have a lot of it vague. You'll do better making a premade world, just with slight variation of technological level (a few decades to a century would do), some hint of occultism and very subtle fantasy themes mentions between different nations - that way you'll cover easily most basic setting requirements and be able to concentrate on nations themselves (for simplicity sake, rather than making it a heir to one particular power, you could make it a hair/new leader of some country).

Aside from that, what would I expect - ability to design somewhat an army - what does it concentrate on, what technlogies it may use, factoring costs for the size, training and equipment of it (and providing some reference or make choices descriptive so one knows how much is much, how trained is well trained etc).

Ability to choose what kind of values the country concentrates on, possibly without them being merely buffs, just coming with different aspects. For example, I may have country dedicated to pursuits of science and knowledge which may boost my research divisons but slightly neglect economy and cause a bit of stigma for working classes unless another trait mitigating it (like hardworking or whatever) would balance it. Or maybe I can make very sexually liberated and lewd place where citizens are more happy and satisfied, but that may strain diplomatic relations with more traditional nations, as well as cause certain social disturbance as perversion roams free.

Waifus are good. So is the ability to just hire generic lewd units for fighting and fucking in an army.
