I've been rolling with 2 units of 4 Bullgryn in Chimeras and Straken with Nork with a Command squad in another Chimera lately. I've been wondering, what else should I add to the Straken and Nork Command squad Chimera to make them more potent? I was considering Yarrick since he can make them all re-roll 1s both in shooting and combat. He's just so expensive for an already expensive group. I was also thinking a Priest, Primaris Psyker or Inquisitor.

I have a Valkyrie that I was thinking of using. I like the 3 Chimeras because they are all going the same speed so there's a less obvious target between the 3 of them. Though Straken might be a more obvious choice so maybe them in the Valk could be good. Nork and Straken are fucking beasts. I love them together. Since they have similar stats for hitting things, they pair really nicely together and if they survive the first round of combat, Straken gets to order himself to fight in the shooting phase. It's so comfy. I just want something else in there that's a threat. I guess the Priest will help, but I'd also like someone like a Psyker casting Smite. I really wish Terminator Inquisitors could ride in Valkyries for that reason because they are pretty tanky.

I get not wanting the models for other legions to look like Ultramarines, but that's not Matt Ward's decision. He's not in the modeling or production department.

Do you care that much about the matt ward thing? Modeling and fluffing are entertwined, forcing marines in the ultramarines direction forced the models in the ultramarines direction and vice-versa. But again we weren't discussing about this, were we? Also, the fact that we have other examples of this misdirection for one or other subfaction does not make it better. I'm happy that GW is going towards generic SM boxes, and I guess we are getting conversion kits for specific chapters too.

Vaul's wrath artillery. Their actual rules aren't bad, but they're hideously overcosted.

Set my self the impossible task of completing the army I've been collecting for the past 4 years.

List is;
Build 3 wysiwyg Archons and paint
Paint 2 razorwing & 1 void bomber
Finish building 5 venom and paint
Put arms and guns on 20 warriors
Build and paint guns for 3 ravagers

And that's just for my current list, hoping to be done by Wednesday, wish me luck!

I'd say swooping hawks. It's not that they are terrible, but there is no reason not to take scourges over them.
Cheaper, better base gun, access to lots of special weapons, and throw in a 6+ invuln and PfP being better than battle focus on DS jump infantry.

Depends if you're going pure craftworlds or superfriends shenanigans. Especially with codexes coming, when there may be bonuses for sticking to a more restrictive keyword.

Anyone have an ideas on how to convert normal guardsmen into non-heretic renegades? I want them to be against the imperium but not on board with chaos (so I guess more rebel like). So far I want to file off any aquila, cut up the lasguns to convert into autoguns, and maybe use some of those GSC heads from an upgrade pack.
