Shield Champion is actually pretty solid-gives you a good ranged option and helps you get some good offensive and defensive bonuses with shields. Mutagenic Mauler is good if you just want to hit like a truck, but costs you flexibility, so it may or may not be worth it. Winding Path Renegade has some handy tricks worth looking over, maybe pair it up with another archetype.

I have a few questions about the gaslighter archetype for mesmerists in the Pathfinder roleplaying game.

At 3rd level, as a standard action, a gaslighter can implant a maddening phantasm) in the mind of the target of his hypnotic stare, causing the target to perceive its own reflection as corrupted in some disturbing way. This is a mind-affecting fear effect, and there is no saving throw. The target is simultaneously captivated and horrified by the sight of its own reflection, and in any round in which the target can see itself in a mirror within 30 feet, the gaslighter can trigger his painful stare against the target without dealing damage. This is a gaze attack, and the creature can avert its eyes to attempt to avoid it. Any creature holding a visible mirror that attempts to demoralize the target can choose to add the gaslighter’s Charisma modifier to its Intimidate check instead of its own. Horrid mask lasts until that particular hypnotic stare ends (often when the target moves away from a mirror). The gaslighter can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier.

This ability replaces touch treatment (minor) and alters painful stare.

However the archetype appears to in no way affect Hypnotic stare. So im confused. What does it mean by this. How does the stare end when the subject moves away from the mirror; if the stare is reliant on YOUR distance to the victim, not the mirror's?

Do note that some enchants cost more than +1 equivalency, and some just have a flat price, so getting Adaptive doesn't count against your enhancement bonus total and will always be the same price, but something like Keen will increase in price as you upgrade weapons by virtue of being priced as an additional +1 enhancement to the total.

I've actually finally looked at the Ungermaw, since I had no fucking clue what everybody was talking about it the first time I heard it. Enlarge or Half-Giant would be perfect, since you'd be counted as Large, meaning you could consume any creature, save Kaiju. The Swallow Whole doesn't actually seem all that useful beyond forcing a creature to burn actions to break out, since the damage they need to deal to get out is pretty trivial.

Using Draw Breath to dispel a group of enemies is actually a really nice touch. The spell eating is lovely flavor, and there are a few items that boost your caster level, making the dispel easier.

Eating things that have lower hardness than half your level won't be all that useful, since most things that matter such as stone and metals are going to be out of your reach until levels at which breaking them would be easier than eating them.

Any race with a bite would be a good pick, since that'd increase your damage, even if only slightly. Str and Con seem to be priorities, but they usually are. I'd probably go Two-Handed, with the bonus Primary from the bite serving as a grapple at the end if it's solo, since you can hold them in place so they can't just fuck off to stab your dudes.

Alright, so, for the past two years I've largely been ignoring SoP because there was never any urgency for me to learn it; I don't GM games, I don't play many casters, and I haven't been in many games that allow Spherescasters.

Reign of Winter has three NPCs who are all in their own way important to advance. FIrst is the woman who is pretty much the only friendly contact players have for the first book in Irrisen, second one is a smuggler who gets you into the capital and third one is the rebel leader in Whitethrone who is the only friendly contact and provider of sanctuary inside Whitethrone, two former ones being written as "Pretty much no reason not to tag along since you are kinda saving their asses and they have very little to lose".

Could be good. I got some kinda gluttonous Tiefling art a while back, so it might be good. I'd like to make something with a Seven Deadly Sins motif, and this works pretty well as a spell eater. Size increase with the Swallow Whole ability could be nice, though I think you can only swallow one person per turn, if I didn't read it incorrectly.

Yeah, that's all doable.
I'd suggest playing a Shifter with a focus on the Alteration and Conjuration spheres.
Alteration will be your transformative bread and butter, Conjuration will let you summon your little murder buddy.
You won't be good at combat unless you transform yourself, but Shifter gets the ability to do that fast so you can actually fight turn 1.

You can focus on both Alteration and Conjuration sphere. Start with a Shifter class and the Bound Creature Boon. Dip a level of Incanter with Alteration specialization for more talents. Dip a level of Monk (Beastsoul) to get a permanent transformation for yourself and better natural attack. Pick some sphere drawbacks if you need even more talents.

Yes. I had a character who worshiped the Sun god and the Star goddess. Naturally one he worshiped at daytime and the other at night, but that was a given because there was only one star in the Dyson sphere - the sun shrank at 'night' to become a tiny star instead of a burning ball.

Actually, since you can Swallow Whole Objects as well, you can actually consume entire buildings once you're large enough. Seriously, coupled with a Large Half-Giant, at level 9, you could consume a Huge sized object. With the Projectile Puke ability, you could then spit a Huge object at somebody. A typical Huge creature is 2-16 tons. Assuming an object of approximate weight... 1 damage per 25 pounds if it hits. 80 damage at the low end, assuming the object isn't considered dangerous. Heavy stones are considered dangerous, so keeping a stockpile of metal and stone in your pocket dimension to spit up for 80d6 damage is a decent strategy for an Ungermaw.
