When do you have to convince someone to join you, do you actually tone down your charisma perks or you just bomb them with social combat and every emphatic manipulation skill that you have?
>>
>>53075206
If you can't convince them to come with you without help from your perks, how do you expect to be able to trust them when the chips are down? No, you've got to do the thing rightly.

So. One last update. Mostly because I forgot the most obvious item that should be in in each Warhammer Fantasy jump and will continue to be in each of mine.

Just added the Ogre Kingdoms Miniatures item.

I have the DC Martian thing of being able to learn a person's native language by kissing them on the mouth. So seeing as I'm a slut, I know a LOT of languages at this point.
>Which ones stand out?
Elvish from LOTR is great when you wanna look all snobbish and regal.
>Ever invent any?
I like just using voices as musical instruments, without language. And trying to convey feelings that way. I got a bunch of perks that help with that.

>>How many languages do you know?

many personally, I also have Universal translators

>>Which ones stand out?

The correspondence and Divine words

>Ever invent any?

yes,I have one in development. it's called Unification it's kind of a constructed language designed to bridge the gaps between the coding new language used internally in bioroids from mega man X, the correspondence,Nihongo and English,it's a little side project I Dick around with in my head when I get bored,I don't expect it to actually ever get finished or actually do anything, but I have noticed that when I try thinking and it it really helps me to get my head on straight.

Drawbacks: Golden Dreams Tarnished Black, Golden Fantasia Tarnished Black, Without Love...When The Seagulls Cried...None Were Left Alive (1600)

Witch Side: Sorceror of S H I T P O S T I N G

Magic (Free)
Ahaha.wav (Free)
Red Truth (1500)
Lord JUMPER (1100)
Black Truth (900)
Black Scythe (600)
Lady MARIA (400)
Beatrice (200)
Ange Ushiromiya (0)

This scene's missing. Think of it as-backstage, where three people (and nobody) wander an endless library.

The Golden Witch is reading a story she found in a glass bottle:

"Why am I still writing this? It's just another ____, I should just post and be done with it already. My head hurts. I'm hungry, and I've been sitting here too long. There's too much to keep track of, and I keep forgetting things"

The last page was torn out.

"But what about us? Where does this leave us?" she asked. She has been arguing with nobody for long, long after they understood each other. "Don't do this. I just want it all to end. If you're as real as I am, then this nightmare is as good as over if you only...stay"

Nobody disagreed.

"He's right, Beato" said the Witch of Origin. "Maria doesn't want to hurt anyone, even if mama deserves it, but the second they got bored toying with us they trapped us in this mess. Maria won't forgive that"

Nobody adjusted the marvel of clockwork and law strapped to her back.

"One of them already has" said the Futurist Witch, hefting her kaleidostick "because she's the reason why I grew up hating someone I never had to. They always win, because their games are rigged"

The Golden Witch knew they were right. What they had to do was absolutely impossible. So they packed their things, and journeyed Beyond the Gates of Saigoth where impossibility grew like grass.

That's all he wrote, folks. There isn't any more.

Now it is time for the play to begin. Let the curtain rise upon a lushly decorated mansion, where the great detective flatters and Battler are arguing. Most of the others are less than no help. Such is the way of things.

Enter Lord JUMPER-Battler. His scorched robes, smouldering with lilac embers. The underside of his gold-trimmed coat radiates a shade of purple that scars emory. He's one thousand years (and one hour) late. Behind him, his entourage takes formation.

She laughs. "So, the plot thickens. Let me guess-you're here to ransom that child?"

You're dressed like one of those pop idols who please old men between shows, said the Sorcerer. The kind who got rejected from actual porno sets for being too bitchy to work with. Just saying

She looks like she just swallowed a fishbone. "How dare you-"

Or did your grandma sew that to hide your flat chest? Do you have daddy issues? Is that know-it-all 'tude what happens when an entitled womanchild gets dumped and knows she deserved it?

"...this is getting oddly personal I MEAN HOW DARE YOU-"

Do you have any actual friends? Any relationships at all that aren't built on your ego or your antagonism?

"...I have a mistress..."

And she's going to miss you. Very. Much. Because that so-called case of yours has wider holes than your absentee mother on a Friday evening. (red truth)

"Where did you-no wait-that's not even-HANG ON-"

But wait-there's more! What are the odds of someone bringing their own lifejacket right before their own ship sinks? And HOW would such a person keep their supply of duct tape dry while floating to land? It's almost like your life up to now is one big contrivance. (red truth)

Erika implodes in a puff of logic.

Cue curtains, end scene.

There's been a change in the program. Any veteran theatergoer can feel it, like the wind in the willows. But you paid for a murder mystery, and you'll see it through to the end even if none of the characters seem interested in opening the box anymore.

You think for a moment, and write "But the future refused to change". After a while, you amend it with "No matter how hard he tried to cheat his way out of it.

The curtain still doesn't rise. Sighing, you add "Yes, including 'that'".

Now, the next scene finally begins. To his credit, the Sorcerer rallies magnificently even when victory has clearly been snatched from him and he feels the hand of a higher power upon his destiny. The others don't even notice. The mystery seems to have become a battle royale, and nobody is sure why.

Amidst the flying fists, the thrown weapons, the family head slammed against the table as several generations of repression achieve catharsis, a few characters defy the odds. Beato-san forgives a woman by saving her from death by goat. Ange-sama disproves her stepmother's guilt, saving her from the literal cut and thrust of debate. Maria-chan refuses to fight at all. Ah, there it is-the conjuration of 1 from 0.

Where's the Sorcerer? There he is! How could you have taken your eyes off him? He unmasks Battler's imposter: It's Old Man WIthers! You laugh at the glamour, as Battler stammers that makes no sense. The Sorcerer assures there's a perfectly sane, logical explaination for everything-and, not unkindly, reminds Battler of what he forgot.

Battler can't bear the shock. He tries to deny it, and chokes on his tongue. Not unkindly, the Sorcerer puts him to sleep and asks the survivors to take him somewhere safe.

You look down, and your cat seems to be missing as well. She appears on the stage. With her blonde little friend in tow.

(Cont'd)
>>
>>53075838
You suppose there could be more character development, if the characters had reason to develop. They obviously don't, because development is change-and in a sense, change is destruction. You'd know that better than anyone.

So your c-ahem, the Witches of Miracles and Certainty are given the ultimate change, under your aegis: Authority over the Game Board. The Sorcerer's Falcastra clashes with Bern's purple scythe, and you suppose it is literal pottery that one who cannot accept love and one who cannot accept miracles would repulse each other so completely.

You frown. You didn't think that. No matter.

Bern is uncharacteristically serious. To knock over a game piece is to visit great insult on the player. She launches a universe, and he replies with a multiverse-only becoming partly real enough to hurt at the moment of impact. The sorcerer deatomises her, while she opens up entropic singularities in his vital organs. Behind him, Ange and Beato are pinned to a wall, having sacrificed an opening to save the other guests. Only Maria's magics keep Lambdadelta from wiping them out.

The fight spills into the Sea of Nothingness. And the Sorcerer cries out: YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR INTERNAL ORGANS. FULL OF SHIT, AND WIDE OPEN

He has them forced into some kind of recursion trap. Not a logic error, something you've never quite seen before-an ouroboros? Whatever it is, he leans a power that challenges inevitability upon it while the other witches, angry at their slights, lend their power to the torture. To add insult to injury, music persists.

There were taunts and catcalls in the beginning. They've abated with the realisation none of the witches are treating this like a game anymore, empowered to fight beyond expectations. Bernkastel starts to panic as she realises what the experience reminds her off, and devolves into screaming threats. Lambdelta has the presence of mind to attempt a call to the Senate.

Light flares, like the toxin of disbelief but-sharper. Shading your eyes, you catch a darker-than-black mathesigilic proof that denotes Bern and Lambda's mortal frailty. And then another surge of radiance; you turn your face in earnest, lest your sins crawl upon your back.

Another Voyager silently loiters for a spell en route to somewhere more interesting. She seems transfixed by horror.

You almost pity Bern and Lambda. Three times all the suffering the world has seen at their hands, reflected back upon them.

And the Sorcerer just. Stares. Even as the others kick them while downed just to make sure, he looks around him, as if trying to commit the scene to memory. For a moment, he looks you right in the eye and reading his lips he says: You claim to be a spectator, yet you're interfering. You realise he's forming an understanding of you.

Nobody hates a hypocrite more than another hypocrite.

Lambdadelta returns to lucidity, and pleads. What do they want, she silently asks. I can make it happen. Anything, asked the Sorcerer. Anything at all, she replies.

I'll take your souls then, said the Sorcerer. Then something happens you don't see coming: Bern and Lambda twist, burning with B_____-l____; for a second Bern seems to resemble the scythe she wields.

This will not stand. Amusing feuds are one thing, but to lay a hand on your miko is a direct challenge.

>You write: "And then, they were inside the City of Books, face to face with the Creator"
>You also write: "Featherine always finishes writing her decisions just in time"

>>53075868
You are on the stage. You express grave disappointment with the proceedings, and all but one of them cowers. The Sorcerer has come to the conclusion that either you are the ultimate cause of every crime, or the embodiment of the true sin surrounding the murders.

This is the most pathetic part, you think. He speaks of culpability, but all you wanted was to know what was inside of the box. Why?

The Sorcerer turns a furious gaze on you. You will have made it so he cannot best you. So he shouts: You know what? No, I don't owe YOU of all people a fucking explanation. I have NEVER owed your kind an explanation.

You disagree. With extreme prejudice.

>You wrote "Anon told me his motivations"
>Also, you decided YOUR music should be played: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjIAEW7lBgM

I know your type. You'd cause a thousand years of atrocities to stave off one second of boredom, so when you strike me down-he catches himself, and stops with extreme effort. His companions are awestruck. You are delighed, it has been a long time since someone has been able to contest your absolute decrees. It's the first real mystery of this whole misadventure.

And it makes reducing the Sorcerer to 0 infinitely more amusing.

You tell the Sorcerer: I'm sure you didn't see this coming, did you? But your fate was sealed the moment you challenged me.

This was never going to end any other way.

As the cafe started to fill up with people, Anon sighed. It was useless. It was all useless.

He couldn't think of a way to defeat Featherine, and he'd take flack over the question of whether she was supposed to really be the Benefactor or not-he'd always meant to leave it ambiguous. At the same time, in-character the conflict was unavoidable.

It was inevitable. But, he supposed, Jumpchain was taking too much of his time these days. Having to explain how his Jumper did things was becoming unbearably tedious. Better to fade away than burn out.

He deleted the draft, turned off his laptop and went for lunch.

Her eyes widened. This wasn't her story.

Burning with countless truths, the scythe shattered out of The Majestic Witch of Theatergoing, Drama and Spectating's memory storage.

Someone was screaming. Featherine dimly realised it was her. The other witches dissolved, as furniture.

Heatless lilac flames engulfed the library. Erupting from every page, toppling shelves-the Gate of Saigoth opened anew; releasing my jotun in as I hammered Featherine with a corona of mortality-and a scalpel of killing intent.

There is no elegance or taste in this desperate struggle. Only the denial of destiny by my own hand-the true witches burning with their own golden truths as the Creator thrashes, dethroned and debased. In her maddened flailing, even a novice Creator's skill can match her while one who channels the future's power can bind her under the game's rules. It is, however, Beatrice who confronts her with the hearts and minds of every character ever misrepresented by a tale. With that, I can begin forming an understanding that includes Featherine's final cessation.

Dying from astonishment as much as anything, the Creator finally solves one mystery she had missed all along. As the scythe swings for her mind again, she offers applause, a spectator to the end.

The game is won. We collapse under tension we didn't know we'd forced ourselves not to feel. Beatrice addresses me by a name that isn't mine, and yet is. There is a ring on my hand.

After a moment of silence, as one witch (or sorcerer) we turn and bow at the empty stage. It seems appropriate. Then exist stage left, and the Golden Land follows in our wake.

Let the curtain now fall, and another show start.

And for those who stayed behind, a message in a bottle seems to have been left on the stage: https://pastebin.com/urEVp05A

Having finished reading the explanation, good show.

Perhaps leaning a little hard on Exalted metaphysics - but there aren't too many settings which involve the kinds of conceptual power needed.

Overall, it reads well, and its plausibility hits the "hm, maybe..." threshold.

Good job - it's a lot more interesting than some of the build posts we get.

And don't worry about wasting time - we have nothing but time to waste, and thought exercises are usually nonsense scenarios. You can consider it a test of your ability to correlate multiple information sources and extract a narrative.

Thank you!

I do like to approach combos as tests of correlation but as I've not-so-subtely commented on through the build, I am aware that at 800+ jumps it's starting to become tedious for myself and others to parse, interpret, reference and cross-analyse all the relevant information throughout my chain. I definitely see where the accusations are coming from, when having to translate my own reasoning from intuition into words somehow ended in hours of scrolling through 4plebs and wikis.

So. I can see why it's daunting, but I can also see it's kinda inevitable and/or necessary for the scale of conflicts my Jumper would logically become involved in.

Saw the P5 jump came out a couple threads ago. Gonna try and get out of the quasi-delirious state I think of as combo-fever before I build for it. Be nice to only have to focus on writing stories again.

Oh and as a heads-up, the space-y/monochromatic/sunlit Garlocks stay, but the flesh-and-blood adult!Simons are going the way of the Anti-Spirals now that

The impression I was under was because of the immensity of the Sea of Fragments, individuals books are actually fairly ubiquotous. Did I miss something, or are the City's books extra-special in the wider sea?

Also since it might have been unclear-I definitely don't mean to say entire universes or such get encompassed by the Library, just that it generates -physical, wholly literary books that describe (roughly) the actual contents. Like how the Land of the Golden Witch manuscript would describe Beatrice's territory, without actually embodying her territory.

At least, I think? If I'm wrong and the City's collection is that of "higher" realms like Heaven, the Senate and such then I'd agree it would only merely extend into tale-Fragments outside of it.

It's supposed to be Featherine's special collection of 'catboxes'. A single fragment (universe) would be a page or less of a book (multiverse).

It's unclear if the Senate is above or in the same plane of existence of the City, but we know that the City is Featherine's personal realm and has a barrier that prevents anything that she (or other members of the senate) do not authorize to enter.

So you would need the Library skip's Feahterine's protection to copy a literal endless multiverse.

Sorry for the late reply...

There's a looot of demons with efficacious dances, and you'd need to learn them personally, since demons can't usually teach others those. You'd also need to be an Fiend/Eclipse/Moonshadow to learn them though, since they're demon-specific powers which an Exalt (or anything else) couldn't learn them normally.

So, no, nothing like Suntarankal. Go for the Fiend caste and meet a ton of demons, if you want to learn their dances without this.

Most notably would be Stanewald, who could teach you 13 magic dances (mostly doing stuff with earth, like opening chasms and causing earthquakes).

The dancing perk also opens the way to developing an efficacious dance(s) of your own, which you wouldn't be able to get at all. In addition to the ridiculously superhuman skill it gives you.

Also, just in case... there's a fuckton of demonic academies for martial arts, Suntarankal is not unique by a long shot. He's just a 3rd Circle, so more notably than any of the thousands of other schools.

You're not tied to specific locations with Symbolic Links. If you take a Symbolic Link to a land, you pick one of the five Basic Land types. So, yes, it has to be something like "Forest" or "Plain".

It's not to tie you to one spot, but to tie you to a color of mana.

You could then ALSO get a Symbolic Link to something like 'Cities', that would only work with the concept-as-your-Link part, not the part where you're better at using that kind of mana.

I'm not sure if "This city in particular" would work. I assume not, since I think it's supposed to just be concepts, not specific things.

>>53070684
Needs a Link to a land/color. Mountain for Red mana seems fitting with the rest?

Also, I'm not sure if there's any 'witchcraft' in Kamigawa, since it's based on Japanese stuff, so that seems weird too.

Otherwise looks fun to me.

I had personally assumed that the Wedding Band fell under the "This Charm may not be learned through the Eclipse anima power or equivalent effects, save for Primordial Principle Emulation" of Cosmic Principle?

>>53077610
Sure. Let's see... There's finishing the Lexicon, and adding Scenarios. I'm thinking of adding Cytherea perks and manse. As well as a couple of additional items, to be able to fold the existing 200cps under the background discounts. Having the higher Circles of Sorcery be purchasable for people who don't want to go through the effort. Some clarifications of awkward wording, expanding the Prayer Strips item to make it a bit better, possibly looking at companion pricing again, possibly letting bondmates share companion slots... I think that's most of it.

>>53077791
There is no perk that lets you know all martial arts, as far as I can see?

There is one that let's you teach any style (Which is less bullshit than it seems, since they still couldn't actually use styles above what they could normally access. An Exalt wouldn't have it any easier than the mortal example.)... but that still wouldn't get around the fact that you would be forced to love your teacher or that your students would be forced to love you. It's ingrained into the entire Style.

>Martial Arts Compendium Memorization
>There are a great variety of supernatural martial arts in Creation, offering uncanny powers often unavailable to a creature through its native magic. Your study of the universe's many fighting schools has given you a complete knowledge of all styles known to the Exalted. This is enough to recognize them in use and remember their effects, not to actually perform them yourself, though you do have just enough know-how to get started on reinventing a style from scratch without a tutor. In future worlds, you'll be able to quickly grasp the principles behind any supernatural combat style you observe, enough to tell you how powerful it is and what it's likely capable of.

>a complete knowledge of all styles known to the Exalted

>just enough know-how to get started on reinventing a style from scratch without a tutor
>>
>>53077868
I mean to be fair how do you even define an "equivalent effect" to an anima power, especially when some bullshit Charm Solars really shouldn't have is singled out as something that isn't one?

It's an N/A artifact with N/A sapience forged by the most intact of the Yozis (or so he says) out of one of his own souls. If that's not at least an equivalent effect, I don't know what is.
>>
>>53077868

/jc/, I'm wondering, at what point do you have enough intelligence and/or technology perks that you are better off just reading a bunch of research papers and textbooks in jump than buying more technology perks with CP?

Ah, yes. Except that wouldn't help you with Black Claw, since...

>It is impossible to know the secrets of this style without being exposed to the innermost heart of one’s instructor, and impossible to understand that knowledge without accepting what is within that heart.

Or maybe it just ties you to yourself or Mara.

>>53077913
An "equivalent effect" to that is just anything that lets you learn charms you couldn't naturally learn from another type of being. Primordial Principle Emulation WOULD count as equivalent, it's just specifically allowed as an exception.

And yes, pretty sure the Wedding Band is equivalent, that's what I'm saying.
>>
>>53077941
The moment you get Reverse Engineering and X-Ray vision.
>>
>>53077941
Tech perks are backed by fiat and work in subsequent jumps. Reading a bunch of textbooks does not have that advantage, and mostly leads to unusable knowledge.
>>
>>53077941
Thing about many science perks is that sometimes, it becomes a grey area on whether or not the scientific principles would actually work post jump. Like Rick and Morty. Or Girl Genius. Or anything that relies on some sort of hyper/warp/nullspace. Grey area, that.
>>
>>53077941
Impossible, unless you have a reverse engineering perk to provide the necessary fiat for keeping the science working in universes with potentially different physics.

Can always just make a friend for 50cp using the import/create option and not take them as a companion at the end of the jump.
>>
>>53077951
>innermost heart of one’s instructor

Which presupposes that you can't learn it without an instructor which of course you can't using stuff from in-setting.

The perk from the Sidereals jump however is not really a power you can get in-setting exactly and assuming it works as written you should be able to use it to learn it without having an instructor at all.
>>
>>53078072
I guess... Seems kinda wasteful though.
>>
What should I do to enhance Kamigawan Moths? I Imported the Pre-Emptive Retaliation from Light of Terra as my Starship in Undocumented Features, and after giving it a Shuttle Bay, I decided I wanted to give it a Swarm of Moth's instead of Fighters.
>>
>>53078089
Some would say spending 50cp on a bunch of models is wasteful too. All depends on your viewpoint.

In any case, if that's your problem, I'm afraid it's unlikely to be fixed by adding another super cheap option, since it wouldn't have any real worth or effect aside from flavour or fun.
>>
>>53078065
>>53078072
Be nice if there was a personalized banner or something for 50 CP. It would make people with an even number of companions who like figurines feel less like assholes.
>>
>>53078138
Like I said, you can create some random guy for it. Have it be an older Ogre with a bit of experience to show you the ins and outs of something your Origin doesn't cover. Maybe a Hunter decides to give you a rundown and a few practice hunts to see if you're any good. Maybe you're best mates with one of the tribes Bruisers, someone who can back you up in a tussle.

Sides, Banners don't reaaally fit Ogres anyway. They have them but it's not really some big thing.
>>
>>53078076
It's not actually a power that you can't get in-setting, it's just knowledge about different styles that exist.

Reinventing styles is actually nothing special and something people can do in-setting anyway, as seen with Sapphire Veil of Passion Style. Yet the Black Claw Style still has unique restrictions. But I suppose you could make a different Style with the same love-your-teacher effect yourself?

But eh, go for it if you think the perk would allow it, I suppose. Not my jump anyway.

Well no more than any other races I suppose but banners are a big thing in Warhammer. Plus the Ogre ones are metal as fuck.
>>
>>53078225
Isn't the unique restriction based on the idea that you have to learn it off someone who already knows it though?
>>
>>53078261
Eh. Maybe in a bit. Updated it a lot and I'm reluctant to do it again when there is already an option to solve the problem.
>>
>>53078286
I'm not seeing a contradiction here? It's impossible to know the style's secrets without exposure to the innermost heart of an instructor, and impossible to understand it without accepting what is within and loving them.

So I think reinventing the style isn't going to work, because you don't know it's secrets, and if you did, you wouldn't be able to understand them.

Would Reaching Adamant/Solar Circle Sorcery in Infernals prevent us from needing further enlightenment or sacrifice to achieve it through non Yozi means as a different exalt type?
>>
>>53078375
Yeah I think you're right, I misremembered what Martial Arts Compendium Memorization actually did.

You might be able to to do it with that perk that teaches you any martial art you see someone do (from I want to say Overlord) but even that would hinge on how loose a use of the word "instructor" is used. Really don't know it it would count or not.
>>
So Dragon-Blooded are shit compared to all other Exalted, right? Why's that, exactly? And hoe much shittier are they? Barely better than human?
>>
>>53078887
Hilariously better than humans, but comparatively less awesome than other exalts.
They can only live a few hundred years rather than millenia and their charms are more focused on working in groups than as singular indiviudals.
They have less essence to throw about and have smaller dice pools, but are still much better off than normal humans.
>>
>>53078887
Dragon-Blooded are elemental super soldiers that are fully capable of punching out tanks if we go by the stats given in the Shards book.

The difference is that Dragon-Blooded are superhuman while Celestial exalted are designed to do the kind of insane feats you see in the Mahabharata or the Journey to the West. With the right charms they can lift and throw mountains, kill continent sized monsters by giving them shaken baby syndrome, etc.

Dragon-Blooded's main strength is numbers and how they can spread just by doing the dirty deed, along with their charms being much better when working in groups. They're designed to be a self-propagating army of superhumans.
>>
>>53078887
In Superhero terms, Celestials are the original Justice League and DBs are the B-listers that make up the bulk. Still heroes, but they ain't no Superman.
>>

The original instructor/creator of the style is a demon, for whom the style is basically a natural extension of her own nature. So that seems unlikely.

>But Cap doesn't set himself up as a God-King and crush his enemies beneath his heel before finally breaking down into hubristic madness.
His point was that Cap's 'thing' is "human, but better". He doesn't have any extra abilities, he just does what a normal man can do but better.

Which is supposed to be the theme of Solars. Anything a normal man can do, they can do better. A man can learn a technique to cut steel? A Solar learns one to cut a mountain. A man can lead an army to victory against an army four times their size? A Solar can lead an army to victory against an army forty times their size. etc. etc.

There is no difference between Primordials and Yozi, beyond the Yozi being tormented into madness and being in prison. In THEORY if a willing Primordial opened their charm tree you could learn them. But the chances are so low to be laughable, even if you could talk to them. Which is difficult since Gaia is off gallivanting in the Wyld, and Autobot is in a coma.

>>53080416
Unclear. The books don't say one way or another, though an Infernals would have one /hell/ of time trying to convince a Primordial.

Considering that Primordial and Yozi (and Neverborn) essence is normally incompatible though, I wouldn't count on it.

Alternate reality Yozis would probably work, I guess?
>>
>>53080361
Well Malfeas is /allegedly/ still the greatest of them. Even thouugh Cecelyne dwarfs him infinitely. And SWLIHN's defences are actually perfect, unlike his. And Isidoros can shove his brass layers apart; to be fair, he's apparently the only one strong enough to do it consistently.

I mean we're not working off anything concrete here, but Gunstar mentions one of his jotuns is a literal apocalypse and in Ink Monkeys' Daystar segment he was the one the UCS rode out to do battle with an enemy of the Primordials. Going by the fact one of his themes includes heroism, at the very least we can conclude while Malfeas does still value acting like a king to some extent, Isidoros' identity seems based around strength as a concept. And Primordials tend to excel better in their area of maximum speciality so-maybe?
>>
>>53080197
No, read the ends of the descriptions. You can't take one if you take the other, unless you import a second armor/Relic.

So you get one free import for each table on the house. But you have to choose whether it was an MCU purchase you're importing or an out-of-setting import. Unless you import a second one.
>>
>>53080485
>Gunstar

>>
>>53080476
I don't see Primordial and Yozi essence as incompatible. They are literally just imprisoned Primordials. Neverborn had their Essence radically altered, but not the Yozi.

But then this is a topic that brings up fights in the Exalted community, so fuck it.

Mhm. It also says this:

>A Primordial Exaltation (such as that of Green Sun Princes, Alchemicals and Abyssals) can sustain only one such template at a time.
But then follows it up with this:

>Unless the Green Sun Princes gain access to Autochthon’s native Charms through some unlikely set of circumstances—which would require the Great Maker to willingly grant a single Green Sun Prince direct access—they do not have the potential to inflict his endemic sickness.
Implying that it IS possible somehow.

I'd assume that if you could manage to do it without killing yourself you'd gain the power. Don't know if it would stay a shard power or change to be shardless like the ones you buy at the end of the jump though. Since Cauldron vials do I'd lean towards becoming Shardless.

You're still talking about implanting a piece of someone else's brain into your brain though, that would take some pretty extreme SCIENCE! not to botch and some pretty extreme preexisting powers to survive. Especially since most of the powers I can think of that could let you survive it are forms of regeneration that would likely reject anything you implanted.
>>
>>53080607
Yes, but that something new clearly isn't a broken yozi with broken yozi essence, it's completely unbound by surrender oaths and unmutilated.

Minor Fire Emblem Tellius update

Ver 1.1: Added a short note in the beginning indicating where people should skip to for relevant information. I couldn't decide if I should take out the origin story of the world or not, so I added that note in so people could skip it.
Minor grammatical and writing fixes, some fluff added to the Bird Laguz items. Black Knight’s armor in the drawback is immune to out of jump magic because it’s too easy otherwise. This will be a battle of skill, not teleporting him somewhere else and walking on your way.

>>53079964
And speak of the devil.

Fire Emblem jumps, like Tellius, Elibe, Sacred Stones, possibly Geneology Of The Holy War if you go across the ocean to Archanea and somehow woo Naga. (Which is actually quite viable if you have the means to get across the ocean if you don't want to handle the evil cults that will take over in five years), all have dragon as a race.

Well to be very technical about that Devil Tigers are not Primordial, nor Yozi, nor dead Primordial.

So a Devil Tiger, with the kinds of Charm Trade that the Primordials all had and participated in should be able to make trades with Autochthon if he's willing to let someone have his stuff, Which as pointed out is hard as hell because the Dues Ex Machina is tight fisted with his Charms and abilities, reasonable since he spent his entire time in Creation getting his shit kicked in for being damn good at those very things.

The corona is pretty much just a radio signal. You'd still need to have the mind and body of the real holder of any given power to trick the Shard into actually working with you. Which isn't impossible, per se (Bonesaw uses memory manipulation tech to get the clones she's made to have the right mental makeup for the Shard of the person they originally were to make a connection, so it's definitely possible), but would require either some baton passing nonsense (see: Bonesaw stitching Oni Lee onto Hatchet Face and giving the latter control of the former's power by proxy) or serious mental fuckery on yourself to hide your real personality and memories while also implanting copies of whoever has the power you want to take.

Anyways, I was just minding my own business until I became what amounted to public enemy number one overnight. "Beware of Decade, the strongest fighter!" Social media hadn't quite become a thing yet, but this was a small blessing when I soon began to fight just about everyone under the morning sun for the silliest of reasons. Having no company to fall back on meant I was relatively stranded in the same spot or whatever was in walking distance, so I was easy to find. This meant battle, after battle, after battle. At this rate, I'm going to start living up to my title if every world just howls for my blood, heroes and villains alike. Maybe the whole 'rely on the protagonists' strategy isn't going to work if things like this keep happening.

Maybe all the stars in the sky really are my enemy.

But you've heard this story before. You know how it ends. I'll stand victorious, helped by my otherworldly abilities and what amounts to 300-plus years of fighting experience. I will fight Ryu and win. I will fight Bison and win. I will fight Akuma, and survive. And over the defeated heroes, and the slain villains, I will muse 'perhaps I am really am the strongest in the world.'

That's not the most interesting story to tell here.

Enter a woman named Azuka Nakamura. She was born the same year and day as this mysterious ninja who now occupies the most-wanted spot in the books of both the law and the fighters of this world. Decade, Destroyer of Worlds. She knows it is her destiny to bring this rogue to justice, and trains every day for the inevitable showdown. A sense of justice burned deep within her heart, and with burning blood, she goes to hunt him down herself.

She meets the so-called Destroyer of Worlds. She tells him he's under arrest. He raises his hands, as if to try and explain himself, but sighs in resignation before saying he wasn't going without a fight.
>>
>>53080991
They can adapt some Charms from other Primordials to their own nature. Though a Devil Tiger doesn't get access to that.
>>
>>53081029
He defeats her, handily, but leaves her alive and tells her "Better luck next time." His movements were inhuman, his strength great, and he already had strong allies that were by his side. But she doesn't give up. She trains. She studies. And she tries again. She loses. And tries again.

Eventually, it became less a question of justice and more of personal pride. This would be her white whale, the criminal she'd bring to justice when no one else could. She began to operate further out of protocol, wearing her nationalistic pride and efforts on her sleeve. Traps. Bluffs. Counters to every one of his tricks she had encountered or had video evidence of. Finally, on the ninth year, they had their final showdown together. When Decade looked at her again, a flash of recognition dawned on his face. For what, she didn't care. She pointed at him and declared,

"Count up your sins, Decade! I'm bringing you in!"

It was the hardest battle of her life, but no longer did she fall in minutes or seconds. Explosives. Wires. All sorts of interesting tricks she had learned would all be deployed, with one important revelation: Decade was so sure of his own superior strength that he would be prone to making mistakes and assumptions. Assumptions she took advantage of. Blow after blow, bluff after bluff, counter after counter, she began to push him back.

An EMP would scramble and temporarily disable his robotic friends. A trap would hold his muscled friend in place, and break the strange stick he used to create 'magic'. Eventually, it was just her and Decade, who was increasingly on the defensive. Finally, she had him cornered…!

Of course, he had one last trick up his sleeve.

>"CHANGE: HYPER DRAGONFLY!"
>"HYPER CLOCK UP!"

Do you have to go through the same kind of trials for advancing through Yozi Sorcery as you do anormal Sorcery? Do you have to do it seperately for each Yozi?
>>
>>53081041
Because Decade was a cheating bastard to the end, he defeated her by punching her several minutes in the past, her efforts and traps uprooted by retrospect. Once again, he had bested her. Defeat after all of these years of efforts was a bitter pill to swallow. All of it, and done so easily, too.

She wouldn't learn until years later that aside from the fighter named Akuma, this was the closest Decade had come to defeat in this world.

Despite this, Decade wasn't even a little upset with her. If anything, he was audibly impressed. She wasn't sure if that was a compliment she would take, but he said that he didn't want that kind of talent to go to waste. He explained who he was, and what 'The Destroyer of Worlds' really meant. The idea that her grudge and drive had been created by her own world, like a living antibody, was a truth she refused to swallow. She didn't need destiny or the world. She had come this far on her own, and she was determined to prove it.

"Then prove it to me in the other worlds." He challenged her.

She never backed down from a challenge.

Had fun with this one. How was it?

The eternal burden of companions. Speak of...

Intermission 5

A pair of eyes are staring at me discontentedly from the window of the confessional. A low-pitched groan of annoyance steadily picks up in volume, but she doesn't say anything. I shift uncomfortably where I'm sitting, noting there's nothing but the empty void of stars outside. No matter how strong I get, I can never forget how tiny I feel when my friend is angry with me.

"Um…have I done something wrong?" I finally ask, breaking the silence.

"You've been slacking off." What.

"H-hey, I've trained a lot, fought a lot, and had to overcome serious odds! You even said becoming stronger was part of the deal all those years ago, didn't you?"

"I know, but that's ALL you've been doing. You haven't talked to people outside of your companions except when absolutely necessary. You've been so focused on training and fighting the whole time."

"Not like I could help it," I said, leaning back and folding my arms. "The last three were bad news, and EVERYONE wanted a piece of me in the last one. If I'm not fighting or becoming stronger, what should I be doing?"

"Literally anything else. A show just about fighting is boring. Just like drifting from place to place and punching the problem away."

I sighed. "I got absolutely stir crazy the last time I went somewhere normal. You can't possibly tell me that's better."

"I like watching your funny face when you get frustrated or worked up," She admitted. I could almost visualize a cheshire cat smile on her face, and suddenly became a little more cautious in how I worded things.

"I-I mean, I can do things a little differently, sure. No problem. Just tell me how."

"I think I know how. And I think you need to get in touch with your human side a little more. Plus things you've been putting off. After all, you've got a spunky new female rival and a Roidmude who's head-over-heels for you, even after all these years. It calls for a bit of slice of life, don't you think?"

Oh no.

"Or maybe something more…romantic?"

Oooooooh no.

"This is extortion," I said, visibly tense.

"It's doing my friend a favor."

"I don't like favors."

"Look, it's like green eggs and ham. Just try acting like a vaguely normal person for once, and focus on the small stuff. I even found more than a few cozy places before we get back to the punchy stuff."

"Do I have a say in this?"

"Do I need to slap a dork?"

"You're really mean for a lady in the cosmic middle of nowhere."

"I'm allowed to bully my friend. Now, let's see…"

So then if you have Anti-Monitor control or manipulation abilities and Turning The Tables from Animorphs, and then be an Infernal and build up limit until the thing happens, can you instead reflect it onto the Yozi?

Oh, really? Well shit then.
>>
>>53081982
Yeah. They had a sidebar in the Broken-Winged Crane explaining that:

>THE LEASH, REVISITED
>To clarify: Torment is a function of the Infernal Exaltation’s design, and is not under the direct control of the Yozis. Limit gain, Acts of Villainy, and Torment are all functions of the Infernal’s Exaltation.
>>
>>53081912
>>53081982
You could still make the Yozis suffer Torment though, it'd just require you to be a Devil Tiger with The Dance of the Thrashing Dragon charm.

If you use the custom Act of Villainy you create with that, you can inflict one point of Limit on a Yozi of your choice whose Charms are open to you.

>>

Nah, it explicitly doesn't have their powers. The canon ones don't have magic. Pretty sure I stated this in the perk description?

They basically act in defiance of their usual behavior. Malfeas, for example, gains the capacity to feel empathy and not be a tyrant. He also handles all of this by dancing, which is in his nature but he does it basically uncontrollably and brings great shame to Ligier.
>>
Would there be any way to use Lunar Charms to overcome the time limit on Animorphs Morphing?
>>

Oh hey, long time no see. Two questions: How's Marvel Magic coming along, and I know the Celestials definitely will be a thing, but are the Beyonders a thing in that jump?

Actually three questions: How do magical powerhouses from DC compare with those from Marvel? I assume someone with Greatest Magician would at least be above most people that aren't cosmic beings?
>>
>>53082266
Uh, I mean, by having better shapeshifting? There is a perk in the Casteless tree, though, that should allow you to mitigate the consequences.
>>
>>53082266
Not really. Unless you count that perk in the drop-in perktree, and that would be more you just defying the limitations of the morphing technology.

Honestly? In your position I'd just rely on Lunar Knacks. Once you get the Charm that makes it so Sacred Hunts don't have to be lethal you've basically got Animorphing without a time limit, and the only downside is an ever-present marking nobody outside the setting will know what to make of.
>>

Haven't made much progress lately because of school shit, but I'm going to start again soon.

It's still just set in standard Marvel, so Celestials and Beyonders and everything else is still running around out there, yeah.

>Actually three questions: How do magical powerhouses from DC compare with those from Marvel? I assume someone with Greatest Magician would at least be above most people that aren't cosmic beings?
Pretty much? But Marvel magic usually requires you to call on cosmic tier beings for big spells anyway unless you are some kind of magical being. And even then, being like Dormammu still invoke other powers and principalities for spells.

>>53082456
Nanoha is, I think?

The various forms of magic in Dark Souls may be powers by various facets of your soul/body? It's unclear.

Academic Mages from... The Magic Circle? Whatever it's called.

Exalted Essence may be generated form your own soul? Not clear on that.

Harry Potter magic is implied to be more like just directly fucking with the source code of reality and is apparently based entirely on genetics.

Chi powers everything in God of Highschool and there are a couple of ways to be able to do traditional magic instead of stands or magic mutant powers.

Dragonball magic is also powered by Ki, I believe.

Bleach Kido is similarly powered by spirit energy.

Zelda magic, maybe?

With Marvel Magic you'll be able to do so to varying extents based on which race you are.

>>53082515
I mean, yeah. Comics are some silly shit, man. Also watch out for little girl cosmic cubes.

As for raw power, eh. The top end of human stuff without cheating by using artifacts or other entities is probably DC, what between Zatanna and Tim Hunter. For humans using artifacts or beings, it's pretty much even, though generally DC will be more blasty whereas Marvel will have more esoteric effects. For nonhumans, it's pretty much a crapshoot; the Spectre, Trigon, the Lords of Chaos and Order vs Odin, the Vishanti, Dormammu, etc.

Well. Lunars just became significantly more appealing.

What does it take for magic animals like dragons or the like? It's not possible for them to do it to gods or anything is it?
>>
>>53082747
Honestly, nobody really knows for sure. In-setting, there's an umbrella term called "Behemoths" that just means unique supernatural lifeforms-and they need specialised, higher essence charms to shape into those.

So as a general rule of thumb, the more powerful/esoteric/weird it is, the more likely you'll need to invent or learn more advanced Charms to be able to take it's form, and they'll cost more essence/willpower than shifting into conventional natural animals.

They can do gods, although IIRC they need several more charms between shapeshifting to LOOk like gods, and emulating the powers of gods.
>>
>>53082747
Dragons they could probably do right out of the gate, or with the single knack for larger sized creatures (if they're larger than a Yeddim). Possibly, you'd need the knack for Behemoths instead.

Though again, another Knack to actually access the dragon's magic instead of just the physicality.

They can do it to pretty much anything. Gods, Elementals, Fae, Ghosts, Demons, Golems, Robots, Plants, Wyld-mutants, and more are all valid targets with the right Knacks... Basically, anything goes, as long as they can hunt it down.

Every shape you take costs the same amount of motes to shift into (not counting Knacks that modify this). There's only a difference in cost between True Forms, War Forms, and everything else.

>>53082858

I thought someone with E10 putting on the ring and becoming a new Ebon Dragon, even if you managed to kill him was called out as a plot point in the text?

Because you are not learning it, more like the Ebon Dragon was fractaly encoded in the ring by the Ebon Dragon. And having that one E10 charm even for a moment would let you execute that 'trade in you stat sheet for exp to spend on Ebon Dragon charms' including getting that charm yourself to be Ebby without the ring.

This makes it sound like many of the dances are actually Spirit Charms (which can have limitations on use) where needing to dance to use them is one of the limitations. But that would mean other demons would not really be able to learn them either.

Being thaumaturgy makes more sense if there was a resources requirement (Demonic Essence) that demons would automatically have.

Yeah, most of the efficacious dances are Spirit Charms or unique powers. They're not learned so much as natural things expressing their nature to demons.

The Gilmyne for example have the Dance of Existence and the Dance of Extinguishment, which both function as a Words of Power charm, with different targets (Existence to harm the dead, Extinguishment to harm the living)

Punch good isn't why Solars overshadow Lunars
>>
>>53082840
Yeah, giving the Lunars superhuman physical capabilities isn't really going to stop Solar dominance. It's the mind control that makes Solars the top dogs. That, and superior organizational and crafting skills to make it easier to establish support bases. You can make Lunars as powerful as you want, unless you give them some means to resist the mind control and build their own kingdoms, all you've done is handed Solars a shiny new weapon.

As they guy who ruined that thread complaining about it, let me tell you that the ability to do anything under an arbitrary but constantly increasing level of power is not omnipotence. It's asinine, but the problem is versatility, not power.

>>53083823
>Immersion:600cp
>you May gain up to half of to the power of a non-omnipotent character you are cosplaying as at the expense of an equal amount of your sociability and persuasiveness
>The maximum potential strength, granted by
cosplaying a character is equal to the awareness of a character , divided by the number of people doing so
I create a shitty OC named God Maker, whose power is to grant double omnipotence to people. I then swing through Generic Video Game Designer and churn out a hugely popular series where God Maker is an NPC. At peak populariy, I cosplay as God Maker and use his power to give myself half double omnipotence, which is regular omnipotence. Alternatively, go to a high power setting followed by a low power one and take over the world, forcing everyone to read your shitty God Maker stories.

It doesn't just give you omnipotence, but it makes gaining omnipotence completely trivial with a couple of jumps.

Lunar shapeshifting doesn't affect mental Attributes, they remain as smart as they always were even if shifting into the form of something super-intelligent. And they use the lower of their normal Dexterity or the form's when turning into something not human, so they probably wouldn't have the coordination to use Kryptonian-level super speed. Also, Shaping defenses protect against being killed in the past, and Unnatural Mental Influence doesn't really care about how smart you are, so even if you were right the Solars would still win.

>>
>>53084227
>Shaping defenses protect against being killed in the past
False. A time traveler killing you in the past is not reality warping, and therefore Shaping defenses don't protect from it.
>>
>>53084285
We're going to have to disagree, then, because I can't see anything more reality-warping than killing someone by breaking causality. I'm not interested in getting into an argument, though, so can we just leave it at "up to the individual jumper"? I don't really care that much if someone wants to rule differently from me.

Unless they get Internal Form Mastery to use the higher one.

>>
>>53084325
Ah, I see. To explain, it's based off of Disgaea D2, where Laharl was temporarily turned into a girl via angel flowers, or something. You get to play as Female Laharl for a while up until the story ends, when he then reverts back. Afterwards, you can use the Dark Assembly to change Laharl back into his female form. Hilariously enough, the entire assembly is in unanimous support of it. Even the female demons like Girl Laharl.

Also, this ought to be interesting. Stuck in a land of dragons...good thing Dark Magician didn't come along, after the war he fought this would have given him a heart attack!

*Sound Master (200, Discounts)

(I know very little so this should be interesting)

I hate war, I mean so does everyone but really I have seen more than enough of it. I hate killing, I hate violence all of it. Still I had a job to do.

Sadly I did it a bit too well and got court-martialed for it. So I immediately summoned Big O, and my companions using the Dragonzord, A to Z dragon buster cannon and several other mecha. Nod just had no answer for genuine super robots. None at all, we walked over their forces and destroyed their bases. The best their men could do was run.

Unfortunately this is the military and apparently pulling super robots out of your rectum and people to pilot them is considered bad. I also did sort of throw off the plan. They wanted to impound and examine my stuff and I managed to talk them in to letting my companions join the military (no import option was given) and I would let them study my technology as long as they didn’t mess with it. I would also continue using it.

Now the brotherhood of Nod is not filled with idiots. They started to get sneaky and set traps for us, they also tried to hide their operations a bit better. This lead to them developing better stealth technology and trying to break in and steal our technology. Didn’t really work but they tried.

In the end it was Rick, Van Hellsing and Sans who really saved the day though they created ways to contain and reverse the Tiberium infection. I got the glory, they saved the day.

What do you think would happen if in Worm when Leviathan shows up I summon Leviathan from FF? How would everyone react, and how badly would FF Levi win?

Age of Mythology
>>
>>53086070
>how badly would FF Levi win?
Oh, no. Worm-wankers in 3... 2... 1...
>>
>>53086070
What are FF Leviathan's feats? I'm vaguely aware of what Worm Leviathan can do, but I'm not sure what his counterpart from FF brings to the table.
>>
>>53086141
Depends on the FF in question. 14, looking at pic-related, can induce aether energy to both Temper (aka forcibly enslave) and horribly horribly mutate a creature. On top of having powerful control over water.
>>
>>53086174
Does that Temper ability work on everyone, or are there limits? And how powerful is its' water control? Tsunami level, more, less?
>>
>>53086070
>What do you think would happen if in Worm when Leviathan shows up I summon Leviathan from FF?
Too many variables. If the humans know you're on their side or they see it attacking just Leviathan, they'll probably welcome the assist. They may have questions, but battles with Endbringers tend to be "anything goes" affairs.

> and how badly would FF Levi win?
Depends on where you put magic versus physics primacy, and even then Worm Leviathan has broken defense. Does the Leviathan have magical effects that aren't just calling on a tidal wave? It'd probably call for a major change in strategy, at the least.
>>
>>53086234
Essentially yeah, magically-enhanced tsunamis and typhoons.

And the limits to Tempering are people who bear the Echo from the Mother Crystal, off the top of my head. I stopped playing 14 a while back, but adventurers who had the Echo were completely, 100% resistant to Tempering.

Well this looks fantastic. I can already tell I'm going to spend a loong time playing around with this jump.

Could we get an armor/relic option that lets us go through the table without an import? Something that lets us get our foot in the door without perquisites, but comes with nothing but the options we purchase. I know it's easy to pick something up in Part 1, but it would let the table be a bit more self contained.

Asgardian Theories let's you import out of setting tech (and presumably out of setting power armor) into the table. But could it be used for in jump tech, like the armor you make here?

What happens if you pick two very different relics to combine? A shield and a sword, say. Or a pen and a ring? Do you just pick one of the two forms and copy abilities over as best you can (maybe losing a certain amount of power in the process)?

Would Reshaping cover the basic clolor/aesthetic changing of Apperance Altercation (which should probably be 'Alteration'), or does Reshaping on it's own just change the form without impacting the theme? Does Inert allow you to have different inert forms, if you also have reshaping? How fast is reshaping? Could you, say, change from a sword to a spear mid fight? Mid sword-stroke? Can you tell I like Reshaping?

To be clear - Does Imbument only functions for effects bought in this table?

Could recognized potentially lock you out if you no longer fulfil the condition? Can you pick something like "to use this item, you must be me, Jumper"?

Can Lyrical Assistance make sound effects that aren't "harmonious and pleasant to listen to", like letting out a terrible screaming as i destroy my enemies?

Is Unity's "manipulate it's position" essentially telekinesis?

Does Magical lashing let you do ALL of those examples (cut through one enemy with magic force, and then launch a fireball at someone else, or is it more of a one trick pony?

Thanks! Again, this looks great.
>>
>>53086278
Hmm, in that case the Tempering ability will probably be the biggest advantage, though I'm unsure if that would work on Worm Leviathan or not.

>Could we get an armor/relic option that lets us go through the table without an import?
Lemme think on it.

>Asgardian Theories let's you import out of setting tech (and presumably out of setting power armor) into the table. But could it be used for in jump tech, like the armor you make here?
You could take the armor you make in the Armor table and run it through as a Relic.

>What happens if you pick two very different relics to combine? A shield and a sword, say. Or a pen and a ring?
FUCKED IF I KNOW.

>Would Reshaping cover the basic clolor/aesthetic changing of Apperance Altercation (which should probably be 'Alteration'), or does Reshaping on it's own just change the form without impacting the theme?
The latter.

>Does Inert allow you to have different inert forms, if you also have reshaping?
Sure.

>How fast is reshaping? Could you, say, change from a sword to a spear mid fight? Mid sword-stroke? Can you tell I like Reshaping?
It's not a shapeshifting bit, it's a one-time purchase.

>To be clear - Does Imbument only functions for effects bought in this table?
Nope.

>Could recognized potentially lock you out if you no longer fulfil the condition? Can you pick something like "to use this item, you must be me, Jumper"?
No and yes.

>Can Lyrical Assistance make sound effects that aren't "harmonious and pleasant to listen to", like letting out a terrible screaming as i destroy my enemies?
Yes.

>Is Unity's "manipulate it's position" essentially telekinesis?
Only on the Relic, but yes.

>Does Magical lashing let you do ALL of those examples (cut through one enemy with magic force, and then launch a fireball at someone else, or is it more of a one trick pony?
One trick, though I can add an option to buy multiple versions at discounts.

Magical Girl adventure time! After SOMA, that will probably be good for them.

As a replacement, have Fire Emblem Awakening.
>>
>>53086342
>It's not a shapeshifting bit, it's a one-time purchase.
You should probably move it out of the effects section and into general, because everything else in that section adds additional properties to the item. It definitely doesn't come across in the jump as a one-time purchase.
>>
>>53086436
and/or just add a line like "this is a one time thing".
