This recently happened to me in a campaign I'm in:

>GM tells me to stop for a moment
>tells me that some window, two birds, ivy, and a stoop form a perfect representation of the golden ratio
>at it center sits an old man
>tells me my character suddenly has a blinding headache and nausea as I look at him
>the old man stands up
>tells me everything has slowed down around me
>the old man walks over and whispers to me 'fear the fox in the hen house'
>suddenly everything starts moving again and the old man is gone

what should I do? what does it mean? who was the old man? who is the fox?

I can answer more questions if it'd help solve this.

I played a goblin before:

>GM says he wants to have templates for players they replace levels
>have stuff like half-fiends and half-dragons in the party
>consider my options and ask the GM if I can have a negative template
>he agrees as long as my total templates are 0 or higher
>decide to be a Advanced Goblin Child
>child gives +4 dex, advanced gives +4 all, goblin gives +4 dex and have 40dex total when buffed
>other stats are all high
>most important part is I'm tiny and can use reduce person to go to diminutive
>spend feats on dampen presence
>play an alchemist and use negate aroma & invisibility to hide from sight/smell
>use the wondrous item slippers to fool tremor sense
>end up with a +72 to stealth


So this is how the game started. I realized none of the party could find me unless I wanted them to. So proceeded to never reveal myself to the party. I used vital strike and readied actions, would fire an arrow at the same time characters attacked so it would be hidden. I would steal my portion of the treasure from the party (not anything higher than my share).

The party grew increasingly enraged by my tiny goblin who followed around their edgy mary sue adventures.

This continued for six months and ended with Grublub the Goblin going far farther than I originally thought with his signature tag line "Grublub lub lub LUBs you".

Update on hell-crusade game, I'm working on lore now and waiting until after Friday to put up the roll20 page. Characters will be starting at level 1 but should progress to level 20 by the end of the campaign. I'm aiming for either Thursdays or Sundays for when I run.

Kobolds are the best race. They combine the weak determined underdog aspect of halflings, with the initially evil outcast fish-out-of-waters trying to learn civilized ways and become heroes of orcs and other monster races.

There's two hooks in one: depending on the setting, the rules, and the tone, you could go to either direction or even both at the same time.

If you feel bad about it, you can always start planning another game. After all, now you have the benefit of knowing what you're getting into and learning from the mistakes you regret. GMing is like any other craft, you need experience to get good at it.

Or do you think it was just another character attack on Vult to make a symbol out of him for daring to run something they think belongs on a different board?

Ask yourselves, what happened as soon as the posting went up? People started blatantly lying about all of it! They lied about everything! They submitted false reports till the app thread got nuked! They literally glorified the idea of sneaking into his game for the express purpose of ruining it and reveling in the ashes! He was lied about, slandered, and publicly shamed no matter what he did and what he said didn't matter.

the golarion setting already uses guns by default. They are just 'emerging' which means almost every gun in the world is in three places. Tian Xia, Numeria, or the one steampunk country that is stuck between the two wizard states.

So a Holy gun could pretty easily be asian or from a steampunk desert nation. You don't have to include guns with your enemies, but when your party starts becoming more infamous or whatever, you can have enemies that are comping at specifically for fighting gunslingers, like monks or other gunslingers. (Monks with the snatch arrow feat can literally catch bullets, and have the highest touch AC. Furthered if you give them a blur potion.)

Don't worry about him crafting firearms. Unless its advanced firearm. If he wants to make one of those, maybe put a quest or the need to buy blueprints beforehand.

I unironically recommend that you stick to 5e. Pathfinder does have its advantages, and if you already know what you're getting into there is a case to be made to transition, but if you don't, it's probably not worthwhile.
All the good in the system comes from the wide range of options, you play Pathfinder because there's something you want to build in it with mechanical representation, and if you don't have that in mind then you'll be fighting up hill against the nonsense core mechanics that can't even stay consistent to each other.

5e is just a much better designed system in about every way, excepting maybe the baseline skill system which is kind of a mess in 5e. You play Pathfinder because 5e won't let you be a Paladin Archer or something.

That's not what's going on here. Anons on /pfg/ have ALWAYS hated those who shrugged anonymity and took on a name. Why? Because when you have a name you get attention for being different. They've done it to everybody, BUILDPOSTER, 2hu, QANON, reviewanon, just to name a few. Even 3pp devs aren't immune. Namefags we've loved because they brought us free stuff are just as often vilified for daring to put on a name, and thus became a target.

The reason Vult gets it double is because he reacts so spectacularly. He gets really angry, lashes out, even when he's samefagging as an anon it's pretty fucking obvious. And so as long as Vult continues to waltz around here with a target on his back, or if he talks about his game like people care about it, he'll keep getting yelled at.

It has nothing to do with puritanical moralizing, otherwise things like RotJR ship-posting or the many other lewd-oriented post types we've had would have been met with the same vociferous hatred much earlier. Alright fuckos, I know I can't stop the shitposting but let's try to sneak in some conversation inbetween all this and hope that somehow, the next thread starts off with an atmosphere somewhere north of absolutely shit.

Let's discuss the Blightseeker. Heroes of the Darklands has a few archetypes with fairly narrow flavour, but you could probably adapt the Blightseeker into most games fairly easily. I imagine you'd want to set up more or less the same as any bomb-slinging alchemist, but at an average 1 damage loss per bomb and some discoveries here and there, we're looking at some decent debuffing. You'll have to prepare and track your effects though.

An obvious theme for a Blightseeker is a travelling plague doctor, but you could probably get away with anywhere between a tribal guerilla to a courtly alchemist here. What're your thoughts?

Blightseeker is pretty solid for a debuff based alch, its a nice alternative choice.

Blightseeker could have been cool but then I looked closer and realised how lackluster it was.

The debuffs that the bombs inflict scale WAY too slow for your level, and by the time you get access to each tier of conditions it's already obsolete. Would not play.

What about that weird bug-cavalier? Is that any good?
