What accessories do you use/swear by/avoid at all costs when you're looking to suit up your deck?

i still carry around my decks in a shitty scars of mirrodin fatpack box held together with duct tape and free political bumper stickers i stole from the college cafe
>>
I double sleeved a deck and will never do it again. 100 single sleeved is perfect for shuffling and double just makes it clumsy.

I use pic related for my Squee deck because it's the deck with all my money cards. The rest just go into one of those deckbuilder's toolbox boxes. The fat packs are fucking awful for deck storage. The top always catches on shit.

>What accessories do you use/swear by/avoid at all costs when you're looking to suit up your deck?
I typically double sleeve my decks because I play with some people who are very careless with their food and drinks at the table. It's not really necessary if people aren't eating/drinking at the table, but considering the deck lists I've seen posted around /edhg/ an additional $20 isn't going to make or break your fucking bank account when you whop out a $900+ deck on the table.

Anyways, if you're going to double sleeve, I've found older KMC Perfect Size sleeves to work the best. Newer Ultra Pro Pro-Fit aren't bad either. The only problem with this is that KMC got bought up by some chingchongs who don't give a shit about quality anymore so good luck finding ones that were manufactured before the acquisition.

I use Dragon Shield for outers. Always have. The new ones are fine too.
>>
>>52286041
I double sleeve everything, all of my EDH, modern, and legacy decks as well as my entire cube and a ton of cards just laying around.

KMC perfect fit inside, dragon shield mattes outside.
As for boxes: satin towers and monoliths are the best.

That sounds like suicide in many decks, why would you?

Also what happens when you run out of those 3 spells?
>>
>>52286281
takes the top 3 from every player. when a spell is cast, the player who cast it picks a card from the pile and casts that instead of their own spell, then adds the card that got replaced to the pile.

If you play Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and cast Curiosity on it you win the game?
>>
>>52286312
you get to deal an amount of damage equal to the number of cards you can draw without drawing out, which is pretty sweet
>>
>>52286303

Now that I think about it, you can prevent them from casting their commander this way, but still they can cast something super powerful and kill you
>>
>>52286317
knowledge pool specifies "from your hand" unfortunately, but i like the card because it forces everyone at the table to think hard about what they're doing. it really makes games more interesting when the monogreen player can pull out a counterspell from the pile to stop the monoblue player from dropping an avenger of zendikar.
>>
>>52286317
also worth noting, teferi + knowledge pool is a really unfair thing to do to your opponents

For the life of me I can't double sleeve with dragon shields. The top of the perfect fit always slides off a bit right when it's fully in.

>>
>>52286432
I had to slide my finger down inside the dragon shields and push the card down to the bottom to fix this. You just have to be careful not to stretch out the outer sleeve.
>>
>>52286041
I used to single sleeve. Several of my once-valuable cards are ruined because dirt gets in the top, then the sleeve presses it into the card.

I use the ultra pro towers, dragon shield mattes.

I avoid KMC/UP/and regular Dragon shield Sleeves. They are the worst. I wish the mattes came in more colors.

I also think the chessex ppound of dice on amazon is 100% essential for any edh play group. Always enough dice for everyone.

DOUBLE SLEEVING IS FOR THE BIRDS
>>

I like it, is it expensive?

So how do you produce a ton of mana for the X spell?
Why don't you run mana rocks like thran dynamo? Also there's a red green commander that adds 4 mana and you can cast spells with X in their cost with it.

Dragon Shield Matte Blacks, KMC Perfect Sizes, no exceptions. I carry my decks themselves in regular oversized plastic deckboxes, in a PirateLabs case. If I'm only bringing one deck, I use a Satin Tower.

>>52288217
/tg/ being bad at mtg again. RTFC, retard.
>>
>>52288223
RDW - Red Deck Wins. Gives no shits about CA, only cares about tempo. Essentially, it's the modern-era inheritor of Sligh or to a lesser extent 10-land Stompy. It runs Goblin Guide because it's a 2/2 haste for 1 mana, and gives no shits about randomly smoothing the mana of its opponent, since the goal is they'll be dead soon anyway.

RDW is basically *the* aggro poster child. If you're used to EDH, you can easily forget that with one opponent and 20 life, that's a thing.
>>
>>52288223
Goblin guide is a staple in naya burn. A 1 mana hasted 2/2 that best case gives you info about your opponent's next draw and worst case ramps him is pretty damn good.
>>
>>52288261
That's accurate, but the way you worded it implied that you wouldn't get a normal ETB trigger either, which you totally would.
>>
>>52288283
He literally said "You're casting the Clone, not Prossh", and Prossh has an on-cast trigger. Nothing about his statement is wrong.

There are multiple variations people call lands. Marit lage lands can be bought for 100-300 if you skimp on duals and fetches, which can still be pretty flexible if you run 4 lotus petals, elvish spirit guides and the less than two lands.

If your "lands" deck costs 100 dollars, you're not playing Lands. You're playing a shitty deck that you're CALLING Lands.

Well, do you have a list? I just want to play legacy at my store on a relatively quick pace, and I literally have $300 right now that I could spend.

Keep in mind, I'm going to be mentally handicapped when it comes to "sideboards" or the number of copies of a card I should run. I get the theory behind it, to substitute certain things against unfavorable matchups, but in practice I know I'm going to be a complete potato.
>>
>>52288884
Yeah you're right who needs fetches and duals, we should all just run basics that way we don't have to pay life.

>>
>>52288981
Neat, I actually have a lot of that stuff lying around. Thanks anon, I'm going to try and buy that deck today! Anything I should look out for? I guess the general point is to mill myself into ichord/narcomoeba/nether shadow/bridge from below, until I can flashback dread return and then pull flame kin zealot/golgari grave troll and oneshot someone in the first few turns?
>>
>>52288981
It must be my edh senses tingling but part of me wonders, with full Street Wraith and Spy to just fucking dump your library, why the deck wouldn't run Lab Man.
>>
Does this belong in my enchantment/lockdown Sisay deck? It looks great, but is it good enough for a slot?
>>
>>52289071
Balustrade Spy mills the whole deck and allows a kill that turn. It's not necessary and the deck can still win a war of attrition so don't run your boardstate into a countered Dread Return unless you have to.

You fold completely to hate, Therapy and Chancellor are your only real protection so don't die.
>>
>>52289125
Eh, I don't think so. It's really neat to do a one-sided artifact wipe, but it's got the O-Ring danger that if they draw a Disenchant effect they get all their shit back.
>>
>>52289121
A resolved Spy wins the game anyways. Lab Man is asking to eat Swords and cost you the game, not to mention you would need a Street Wraith or Probe in hand to do it and those should already be in the yard.
>>
>>52289129
Well, shit. I didn't realize that. You said you mainboard Elesh Norn, how many copies? I have one of those kicking around, and I'm more than happy to put down some extra money if it makes things more consistent.

Does this deck win often? I don't expect to go 3-0, but maybe a win or two a match would be nice.
>>
>>52289196
Just one copy.

It can really put a nail in certain decks but it's pretty meta dependant.

You can do something like that with thespian's stage too.

Get three artifact creatures on the field, sac one at the end of the turn before yours to fetch Rings of Brighthearth, then bear witness:
1) Double sacrifice to fetch Basalt Monolith and Planar Portal
2) Acquire infinite mana by using Rings of Brighthearth to copy the "Untap Basalt Monolith" ability (tapping it again before the duplicate resolves)
3) Activate Planar Portal to fetch Voltaic Key
4) Use Rings to copy Voltaic Key's "untap target artifact" ability to target both Planar Portal and itself.
5) Cackle maniacally as you have infinite tutors
6) Call out Darksteel Forge and Mycosynth Lattice to make everything into artifacts, allow yourself to use your infinite generic mana as any color, and to make all your artifacts indestructible.
7) Summon up Nevinyrral's Disk, untap it with your Voltaic Key copy shenanigans, and blow up everything that isn't yours.
8) Search out Myr Turbine, again comboing with Voltaic Key to crank out infinite 1/1 Myr tokens.
9) Search out, cast, shuffle in, search out, and recast Beacon of Tomorrows indefinitely, targeting yourself to acquire infinite turns.
10) Pass to yourself and swing out with four hundred billion 1/1 Myr.

An alternative to steps 6-8 would be to just call up Mycosynth Lattice and Capsize, using your infinite mana to bounce everything that isn't yours to its owner's hand.

Yeah, don't think that is feasible without black, and it's sketchy even with it. You're going to need something like Scourge of Valkas with a bunch of dragons, then get Worldgorger Dragon, use a Changeling to champion it, then more champions or devour dragons to do it even more times. With enough mana you might get something out of Hoarding Dragon + a way to kill it, getting who knows what. But yeah, my advice is probably "don't".

Protection is very specific.Like I said earlier, remember debt.

Ward sliver would protect against path of exile because it targets, but not merciless eviction as it does not fall under debt

Go heavier on the green and include land fetch spells. Your deck's optimization might suffer a bit for it, but it's a reasonably good way to do budget decks.

Honestly, if you're needing to build a 4C deck on a budget, or "don't want too many nonbasics", you shouldn't be building a 4 color deck. If you must, basically build it as a 3 color deck that's splashing the fourth color for your Commander.

>>52294581
Ramp into big stuff. Rocks and land fetches don't just fix your colors, they put you ahead of the curve. Play it like a 4 color Xenagos deck. Bring some stuff that lets you re-aim Saskia and swing away.

He's alright. I didn't mind Wes that much. I just called Steven a faggot cuz he made a bad joke.

Now Saurez can go fuck himself.

Thanks. Heres a few comments.

Have you considered Wild Ricochet?
Do you really think Godo is necessary in there?
I had never heard of Balduvian Warlord. He seems fun. I really like your enchantments.

Actually just really like the idea of playing Changelingstorm. and in fact, the only thing I *need* to fetch with it is one of the changelings and Worldgorger, if I play one of the other two pieces ahead of time it still works. I might still put that in, among other mass damage and storm win cons of course.

Alright lads I need some token makers for Shattergang. Helping a friend build a deck, I owe him $30 and he wants cards instead of money

Didn't know Parnell came to /tg/
>>
>>52295271
Endrek, and enchantment and artifact creatures with dictate out. Also put an it that betrays and grave betrayal in the deck if you haven't already. Those should go in first
>>
>>52294930
>>52295122
Yup. I'll add Narset to the list. Any idiot can play Leovold, Narset, or Oloro. And they're always piloted by fat little highschoolers with their mom's credit card number memorized.
>>
>>52295271
Breeding Pool. Hear me now and believe me later.
>>
>>52295359
Anon, I don't think that works.
>>
>>52295271
Hammer of Purphoros. If you have a Crucible (or a Dakmor Salvage, or a Drownyard Temple, or just a ton of ramp, etc) it can generate tokens that you can feed to any of the three abilities on Shattergang.

Failing that, Kher Keep.

I have a problem
I am the only person in my group that actually home brews
2 people net deck
2 people build nothing but tribal garbage

I used to have a nasty gw stax deck but then realized that the net deckers didn't actually know the decks they were playing and little mrs lel tribal decks never got off the ground
When i play less competitive decks though like tribal or green stompy we get infinite comboed before turn 6
So how do i build a deck that can keep one under contol while not just blowing the others out of the water
I only have enough staples to build 1 maybe two decks at any time.

Taking zergo and krenko lists straight from the internet and buying the cards

>What accessories do you use/swear by/avoid at all costs when you're looking to suit up your deck?
I try to avoid cheap ultra pro deck boxes these days but I haven't tried any of the towers and I hear those are good. I like ultra pro mattes for drafts but for edh I buy kmc perfect fits and dragon shield mattes. The ultra pro perfect fits look interesting with the side fit and I saw my friend use some new sleeve with rounded corners. I have no idea if those are good but they look interesting.

For deckboxes I have the two ultra pro commander boxes I am looking to replace with some Ultimate Guard boxes and the dual box Xenoskin. I'd like a second one but for 40 bucks I won't afford it for a while.
>>
>What accessories do you use/swear by/avoid at all costs when you're looking to suit up your deck?
Kmc perfect sleeves, drsgonshields, and a satin tower for each deck.
I live in Florida and like foils, if I don't double sleeve, the humidity curls the cards in like a day
>>
>tfw I actually like how ultra-pro mattes feels and shuffle but I can't stand that fucking silver circle thingy on them

I think they'd be great if not for that one flaw. I've heard they split more often but every pack comes with like 10 extra sleeves
>>
>>52297613
ultra pros in general are just pretty easily prone to splitting but when people say prone to splitting it's not like your entire deck is gonna end up with ruined sleeves after a few games.

I think ultra pro has the best shuffle feel as well but the sleeves in general are just really thin and don't feel like they fit snug. That's my beef with them. I do kind of like them for double sleeving until I get some dragon shield replacements though.
>>
>>52297666
Nice trips.

Ultrapro gets a bad rap, simply because they aren't the very best product in a hobby that tends to foster a very "all or nothing" mindset. I used them for the first decade or so of my Magic career and had very little problems with them.

That being said, I've found Dragonshield to be superior in basically every way, if only just slightly. Whereas Ultrapro shuffled fine, DS shuffles like a dream. Ultrapro seldom tore, DS NEVER tear (and you can take that to the bank).

All in all, Ultrapro sleeves are fine, even good for the price. They just aren't the BEST, so people bag on them.

When it comes to deck boxes, though, Ultimate Guard is streets ahead of the competition. Buy that shit, you'll never regret it.

Finally getting all my decks on tappedout.

Based on what I've built already, what should I build next?
>>
>>52298047
Do you like being adickhole? Sharrum combo. Do you like fun? Endrek sahr
>>
>>52298096
I did Sharuum a bit ago. When the C16 decks came out, I cannibilized Breya into Sharuum and Slobad. Then I took the white out and made Silas Renn.

And I'd prefer to not buy all my mono black staples again. I tried Endrek before and other than feeling like a weird stax deck, I didn't like it.
>>
So I packed a Bloodmoon and now I wanna make a Krenko.
Is it worth it?

Are SCG stocks completely arbitrary? Seems weird that they'd run out of a bulk common that I've never really seen anyone run.

It's a unique card. Somebody's probably speculating, hoping it sees play somewhere.
