Revelations isn't too bad, it's basically just the state of affairs in earlier Persona games. Plenty survivable, if you're careful. Strange Journey, though, will land you in the middle of at least three apocalypses. Global thermonuclear warfare is the least of your worries if you take that drawback.

They're all other SMT games. The weird gravity fluctuation in the Antarctic is Strange Journey itself. The cellphone that predicts the future is Devil Survivor 2. And the warring cults with ties to the American ambassador is the very first Shin Megami Tensei game. Of them, Strange Journey is the only one we don't have a jump of. Yes, more variety, but no using Illuminati-tech. The main benefit is that it lets you craft with nothing but an ordinary crystal, which is, uh, kinda useful, considering that normally you'd need to either use the Powerful Soul perk and spend your power stat, or get materials that aren't exactly available outside of the setting. Or sacrifice people. I had it separate form Powerful Soul because that one actually benefits Warriors and Mages in its' own right.

Not really? I mean, I have people I've looked up to during my years Jumping. I didn't idolize them or anything. It's more like I found some quality in them that I wanted to emulate in myself. Korra's ability to rise up and be a hero despite her faults, Dipper's determination, Mable's faith, the way Frisk can see the good in absolutely anyone, Eiji's... Eiji-ness.

My personal heroes would be the majority of the canonical Kamen Riders, especially Eiji. His entire story was compelling enough that, post Mad King-DLC, I stopped involving myself in the events of OOOs to let it unfold naturally. And why I went to the Another OOOs world to steal the Core Medals there instead of the 'main' timeline.

As for me, 'hero' is...a vastly inappropriate term for me. I generally just look after me and mine, and don't get involved in trouble unless I happen to be in the neighborhood. Worlds have their heroes already, and I'm just a passing-through Jumper. It hasn't stopped some people from calling me that, though.

In Final Fantasy 14, my built-from-the-ground-up Free Company helped a lot with the rebuilding efforts post-Calamity. We had a fair amount of fame to our name, and that only skyrocketed once we started openly aiding the Scions and the Warrior of Light. Nice lady. Didn't talk much, though. Just kind of...nodded.

In Kamen Rider, my most active heroics were when I was working alongside Rider 1 and 2. Shocker is a lot more competent and scary when they're not constrained by a TV budget, it turns out. After becoming Kamen Rider Black in part 2, the rest of Showa was a hell of a rollercoaster.

None of my companions really call me a hero or look up to me, but with all the 'befriend anyone' perks I've picked up, I'm usually the first person they mention when it comes to telling stories, sharing loot, or putting food on the table. It's flattering, but weird to hear from the likes of Diend or Claire.

Wonder if I'll keep passively attracting weirdos this way?

Food & Water [100]: Litterally just what you’d find for knocking over a corner side grocery, in a verity of knockoff brands, but this duffle bag never seems to be out of the things needed to survive this world, food and water. The fact that weapons are more common that this stuff should tell you why you’d wanna stock up on it.

Vehicles [100]: Chose any civilian vehicle you wish, circa 2001, and you now have it. It needs gas and other maintenance, though if you wreak it or somehow lose it you’ll find another one within a few days. This new one will be identical and you’ll be able to use it legally to boot..

This was one of the last places I expected to be sent for my journey. Perhaps the benefactor wanted me to continue my investigations into the supernatural? Or maybe this was an experiment to see how I would react to being the mysterious creature people were investigating? Either way, I had fun.

After living in worlds that were so much more free and exiting compared to our own I found myself depressed and disgusted with how boring earth was, or at least with how people thought it was. Cryptids and magic were real in this universe and people deserved to know that they existed. Unfortunately spreading knowledge about all the weird stuff that existed proved to be really difficult, both because of the drawback and because I hardly had any resources that could help me. There were also a few secret organizations that constantly got in the way of my efforts.

Since I was already in her house I decided to introduce myself to Pacifica as soon as I arrived. I transformed into an exotic creature that she would want as a pet then revealed myself as mystical creature that could serve as her spy if she agreed to do me a few favors.
Working with her was far from fun. I tried to subvert some of her schemes and make her a bit nicer but I didn't get too far before she became fed up with me. Later on I tried to befriend Dipper, Mabel and the others but they didn't trust me since I was a journal entry. They were right, since I stole the journals before they got rid of them at the end of season 2, and then became the villain for what could've been season 3, but I apologized and offered my help whenever they needed it.

The first few days of this jump involved a lot banging my head against a wall. I didn't sign up for this journey to work and pay taxes like a normal person, I wanted to explore strange new worlds and seek out new civilizations! (Speaking of which, I wonder when I'll be sent to the Star Trek universe?) Anyway, after I got over the initial shock and depression I decided that I could suffer through ten years of mundanity if it meant getting an upgrade to my Warehouse and few minor perks.

My companions took this turn of events much better than I did, they were happy to finally have an opportunity to live as regular humans, although eventually they came to realize why I left this world in the first place.

Getting to be a superhero was fun but I tried to stay under the radar as much as possible because I didn't want to attract a lot of attention.

Quite literally it's a scarcity based environment and from what I can tell the entirety of all material goods in the place is basically covered by that item section. I mean I could include >>51884161 but mostly the entire thing is so devoid of special items that could be used. So I have decided to use monster hunter wyverns and dragons as the study materials for my carbuncle critters plan, they have gemstones of all kinds growing in them.

Next question, other than the standard radioactive squirrel what critters qould also fit in a carbuncle ecosystem? Bees with crystal stingers are a concern.

You might want to look into Steven Universe. Corrupted gems are essentially monsters with various gemstones at their core. They're fairly destructive normally, but it's already been shown that they can operate like normal animals under certain conditions.

Be their "Wake Up" Boss after years (2-5 to be exact) of patiently messing with them. (1) It turns out that all that food that they ate? Slightly poisonous and slowly paralyzing them. They need to rely on their "weaker" friends to help them find me so I can administer the antidote.
(2) All those hacks took advantage of a number of back-doors (and set up new ones), they need to patch everything and contend with me stealing and using their tech like it was my own.
(3) There's a crazy elaborate criminal syndicate that they helped set up by agreeing to my escort missions, and everyone in the syndicate knows it and they treat them with the due respect...but of course, so do the more perceptive guards and concerned citizens. They need to shut down everything or risk being associated with everything that the syndicate is responsible for doing.

Personally, it depends on what they've done that causes me to dislike them.

Using the pic as an example, I wouldn't really do anything to Miles Morales because being bland isn't a sin.

However, the Attilan Royal Family and anyone who follows them are getting overthrown ASAP. I will use Modern Day Conqueror from Def Jam to do it. Medusa and Black Bolt can go fuck off.

Carol Danvers on the other hand, I wouldn't do anything to her physically. I'd drag her reputation into the mud by showing all of her worst qualities to the public at large.

It's a case by case basis for me. I like helping people reform when I can, but some of them deserve/need a little humiliation first.

Like Tony Stark. By the time I hit Marvel I'm sure I could reform him into not being such a douchnozzle, but instead I'm just going to show up when he's about to make a horribly stupid decision to slap him upside the face. Just teleport in, slap him, tell him not to be an idiot, and teleport away. And when he inevitably starts predicting my teleports, then I'll show up at his door dressed like a UPS deliverer, ask him to sign for a package, then slap him while he's busy with the pen.

I've even got a whole "I'm you but from the future and I've come back to warn you that you're being a giant asshole so stop it!" scenario for when he decided to build Ultron in MCU. I'm going to have one of my Companions on hand to film everyone's reactions for posterity.

Other times, it's fun to play along with their stupidity. Like with Dib and Zim in Invader Zim. I /could/ just lace all the food and water in the world with intelligence enhancers until everyone stops being such a poo-brained horse. Ooooooor... I could team up with Tak and help her stage weekly "plans" to take over the Earth in new and interesting ways, forcing Dib and Zim to team up on a regular basis to save the Earth. Of course, if they happen to fail, my own "incompetence" will somehow ruin the plan at the last moment. Tak will yell at me. And we'll run off to fight another day.

These are just a few reasons why I don't really qualify for the title of "Hero" when people ask.

The Naruto inheritence stuff is a little unreliable without an external factor. See Tsunade and the Mokuton she doesn't have. Thankfully Newgeneics and probably a few other perks address that.

Also, Coiling Dragon I think is still SB exclusive, but it does have a pertient perk under the noble background that lets your kids inherit and mature to have the same level of power you have when they were convieved. (And also equal insight into the laws and edicts, which only makes sense if you know the setting.)

So, time for ValJump News! As usual.

Good news and bad news this time. Won't be posting anything for at least a week, maybe two, since Uni starts up in 2-3 days for me. If I do post something, it'll probably just be an update or revision of Drakengard, since I'm mostly through doing those 3 jumps and they'll only take a few days each. Not sure when GO will be ready but I've finally figure out HOW I'm going to do the origins, which is usually the hardest part of any jump. It's just a matter of filling stuff out now but...yeah, lots of content to cover.

On the other hand, I'm sure some people will be excited for the next jump I'm picking up now that SDS is finished. E-E-EXPLOSION!

You get the abilities described there. Let's say you take the Demon capstone. You can go Indra form now, gain authority over demons and transfer blood stuff with a touch, but you don't suddenly gain the ability to give people demon powers because you don't have demon blood. You can even join the Ten Commandments since not all of them are actually even Demons, not truly.

Basically, you get what the perk directly gives and not the indirect benefits from the race.
