I'm unsure about Space Wolf Dreadnoughts. My guess is they used to be able to but can no longer do so due to the new ally transport rules.

I remember there was a geedubs walk through, but I dunno where it is. But I'll summarize.

1. You may pre-measure your tank shock distance.
2. Declare the vehicle that will be attempting the tank shock, it's direction, and how far it'll be going when it does, up to its maximum speed. This is usually 12".
3. Move the vehicle that distance, rolling for dangerous terrain as normal. If the vehicle comes into contact with an enemy unit, they roll Leadership, and a fsil makes them fall back. If they succeed, they get Death or Glory, and if THAT fails, pick the vehicle up and move it over the unit until it's reached the full distance you declared.
4. Any models UNDER the vehicle must move out of its space to the 1" exclusion distance by the shortest path possible. Note I only mention models UNDER THE vehicle. If there are models in the unit that aren't under the vehicle, they don't move.
5. Any models that can't find space to move to without breaking unit cohesion or any of the other rules concerning model placement are crushed.

This system is designed so that smaller units are harder to affect with this rule. If the entire unit fits under the vehicle then they can all move, making displacement much easier. However, if the vehicle only covers part of a unit, suddenly their fellow models are an obstacle and could cause them to be crushed!

What is means is that the veterans have to buy the transports and you can only buy one all parts of the unit are able to use, ie the flier.

The effect is to prevent the terminators, biker and veterans each taking a DT.

Totally. My Chaos army is 3 smaller warbands joined together, and it's easy enough to just say they're using similar tactics to those legions and benefiting as a result.

The only glaring thing I would say is that you have to take VotLW on everything, and some of the legions can't take marks at all. While it is free in the first case, it does cut off a few fluff options in some areas.

Really though, I doubt anyone will mind if you forgo certain units taking it or taking certain marks in another legion or whatever, so long as you aren't min-maxing hardcore.

The most astonishing thing is how much so many things in the Ghaz supplement just blatantly don't follow their fluff.

Like take Da Boss is Watchin', the rule that "gives" you +2 on the Mob Rule table. The fluff for it is that Ghazghkull's mobs have an unusually high level of discipline, and the leaders of mobs will crack heads even harder due to the influence of Ghaz.

But giving +2 on the Mob Rule table means that it actually REDUCES the chance of getting a Cracking Heads result, where a character in the unit inflicts wounds. In fact, it drops it from a 1/3 chance to a 1/6 chance. It also makes a Squabble result occur 5/6 times, Squabble being where all the Orks in the unit start fighting each other. Nothing says unusually high discipline like randomly devolving into brawling eh?

The Warlord Trait Kallin' in a Favour says that the Warlord has managed to score a piece of Wargear fresh from Orkimedes' workshop. One weapon the Warlord has gains Master Crafted. But it specifically can't be given to any of Orkimedes Kustom Gubblins, the relics from the supplement. You know, the ones built by Orkimedes.

Speaking of Relics, check the Super-Cybork out. The fluff talks about armour plates being inserted under the owner's skin, that they became immensely tougher and could also lift weapons even a Meganob could not. So it should give an armour save, +Str and +Toughness right? Nope, FNP, Relentless and Eternal Warrior.

Something new I want to try out with my Deathwing/Ravenwing list and would appreciate some feedback.

The Ravenwing Attack Squadron starts on the table and drives toward the enemy's most valuable target with the Dread dropping behind them.

Second turn the Black Knights outflank with the Librarian going after their termies or equivalent, the Nephilim flies in hunting tanks and the Deathwing Knights and the Master drop within the range of one of the available locator beacons and form up to charge the enemy's HQ next turn.

If the game uses a higher point limit I will include some Deathwing Command squads.

Depends by how much. If Kans were 20ppm you'd see them all the time. If they were 45ppm you'd see little change.

Obviously that helps anything. It has less of an impact on Ork vehicles because their armour values tend to be so low. Which means they're up against weight of fire taking them down, and negating 1/3rd of those hits doesn't really do much.

Actually a detriment, since you're always better off fielding vehicles singularly as opposed to in squadrons. I'd rather have 3 single Killa Kans than 3 in a squadron, because my opponent has to split his shooting to kill the 3 individual Kans, whilst he can just concentrate his firepower for the squadron.

Orks do have a crowded HS slot but it's easy for us to unlock more CADs or for that matter, just go Unbound. Our meta-detachment is probably the worst in the game so it's not like we lose much by going Unbound.

Don't bother with heavy weapons aside from Grav-cannons and Heavy Bolters (but only cause you're Imperial Fists and you hold the line). Even then I would probably just leave it to your Devastators (who have buffs).*

*Heavy Flamers if you were to play Sallies and your opponents aren't jerks that ascribe to the dumb restriction in the codex.

Special weapon + optional combi of the matching type is generally the way to go. Rhinos are cheap, can block Line of Sight, and move your dudes where they need to go. Drop Pods don't have long-term mobility but they have better alpha strike capability.

Formations help (sometimes to the point of cheese), specifically Battle Company: Vanilla, Stormlance, and Pinion. Vanilla is probably fluffiest for you but also cheesiest with free transports if you go all the way.

Basically
