you should learn how to use greenstuff before you ruin models with it

furthermore with plastic models it's better to use plastic glue to repair small gaps

I originally asked about blue because it was not shipping, and confused as balls it didn't had tracking number. It just didn't occurred to me, I simply assume the more expensive one was faster.

Then I asked about red why it was not shipping.

The idiots sold me out of stock shit, along with made to order out of stock (How?)
IA bought in hardback. Changing to soft, so... Honestly no idea what the hell happened back at GW

Finally ended cancelling the order.

4 other orders still missing, the fuckers are evading the questions.

We buy in bulk for many people just to avoid issues and this shit happens.

What are the rules regarding bases for hovering/flying units? Does the unit need to be a specific height off the base, or can you modify it to make it higher or lower?

I'm guessing you can't modify it at all, or else you could have some really questionable LOS situations.
>>

Because they're spergs that freak out if their imaginary faction isn't """winning""" the setting in a vague fictional future well past the actual timeline in which the plot of the game takes place.

There's literally one crybaby faggot that comes in these threads and tries to tell everyone else there's no reason to play 40k ever because chaos wins in the end so nothing they do matters. As if a normal person would give a shit about that instead of putting their painted army dudes on a table to roll some dice and blast each other while sharing a pack of beers.

Be careful though, there's pitfalls.

"Glue random junk of models and ruin both" conversions
And the "10000 points built, nothing painted and the ideas keep coming like africanized bees"
>>
>>51135536
That's my strategy: I blob it on (carefully soaking up the greenstuff around the rivets with a paper towl), wait a day for it to dry, then sand it down. The greenstuff is far softer than the GW plastic so it sands off quickly and by using a nice fine sandpaper I can ensure I don't damage the good plastic.

I wrap it around an old hotel keycard for precision sanding.

To me, converting models into "your guys" is THE best aspect of the hobby, and Orks are the best at this because you can use pretty much everything from your bitz box. Space Marines probably take second place due to how modular their models are, whils Tau are also highly customisable when it comes to battlesuits.

>>
>>51135502
That looks very nice man!
I'm just starting out so I don't have much in the way of bits yet but I have ordered some trukk boyz and a battlewagon set. I was wondering if it is possible to bare bones out one battlewagon with its own set and then make another with a cheaper set. Historical sets look like a good idea.
>>
>>51135684
That's how I feel about IG Veterans. I feel like you can do so many things with them. Things I've done to make them my guys are make Catachans Prisoners with orange outfits as count as Conscripts, Veterans that use Space Marine Scout bodies with shotguns and Scion Beret heads and I combined Scion bits with Cadian Command Squad bits to make a count as Straken and count as Creed.

Orkz also seem really fun for the highly customizeable aspect of them.
>>
>>51135633
I know the implications, I just want to know if it's legal.

I'm imagining a Hammerhead hovering 71" above the battlefield. It just floats over and railguns its target from orbit.

Actually, if I can place my hovering units at an arbitrary height, does that imply they're capable of moving vertically? Are there rules for deploying a squad of Fire Warriors from a Devilfish that's several feet above the board?

It looks pretty hype to me. If a resident DE player at my store buys it I'll play it with him.
>>
>>51135712
>Historical sets look like a good idea.

Be aware that most historical kits won't work for 40K, at least not without massive amounts of plastic-card. The Lee works in part because it's got a very 40K design aesthetic to it, with the massively tall profile and multiple guns.

Secondly, you need to replace every weapon. 1/35 or 1/32 is the right scale for historical vehicles in 40K, but weapons in 40K are massively oversized, closer to 1/16. That Lee came with a 75mm cannon, a fair sized weapon for the period. It looks like a pea-shooter in 40K.

Good luck with your conversions!

>>
>>51135736
>I know the implications, I just want to know if it's legal.
Officially, models must use the bases that they come with. People just don't complain about custom bases of normal size because they don't mind. Try to put your Skimmer on a six foot tall base and they'll probably say something.
>>
>>51135736
No one will let you bring a vehicle on a base that high.
>>
Where do you get your dice, anons? I've heard lots of good things about Chessex, especially for things like getting fancy custom dice which sounds interesting to me, having a couple Tzeentch, Necron, or Thousand Sons dice would be nice but have also heard a lot of bad things about them too. GW

Chessex dice are fine, because all the bad things apply to all other dice companies too except for precision dice like casinos and Gamescience which aren't really worth buying, so don't worry about it.

If you really are paranoid just buy extra batches and test each one until you can eliminate all the ones that are overly skewed, or throw in a mix of skews for each number.
>>
>>51135948
I buy from deal extreme or aliexpress because dice are dice and you can't beat the price

for objective/wound/hullpoint markers I buy a pack of dice from the dollar store because they'll be bigger and chunkier

Chessex custom dice prices are as follows for 16mm dice with 1 custom image on one face (IE: symbol on 6)

10-25 dice: $1.00 per side
26-99 dice: $0.75 per side
100-199 dice: $0.60 per side
200-499 dice: $0.50 per side
500-999 dice: $0.42 per side

Sounds perfectly in line with their boxed games. Calth gave you a free Contemptor, Prospero has the Custodes/Sisters for free, all the start collecting boxes have something for free.

As someone who wanted to buy it just to play, then later backpedaled because it looked a lot like X-Wing and not Necromunda, then pingponged back because the box came with 6(!) Reavers, I'd rather just source more Reaver boxes from my FLGS than buy this, really. I guess I could try to flip the Hellions for a small profit, but the market'll be flooded with them before long because of people who have the exact same idea as me, right?

Nigger what? They're some of the best deals GW has ever made. They smashed criticism right out of the park when they dropped this time last year.
So what if some of them aren't >optimal? They're usually excellent starting points for armies and a great way to grow one, too.
>>
>>51136045
Yeah. Basically if you have any interest in the Hellions it's a great deal. But if you just want the Reavers and are trying to flip the hellions it's probably not that great. The DE Start Collecting is a similarly good deal and comes with way more solid stuff.
>>

I've never ordered. But I've heard it's pretty informal. You just shoot them an email with an attached file, possibly asking for a demo die. They print one out and send it to you, then you tell them "this is what I want", pay, wait 4-8 weeks I believe, and bam, new dice.

Guard are smaller, come in droves, pop like water balloons, Tau can shoot your shit off, but can't take a hit from a pea shooter, Necrons are just OP and you get very few of them but you get awesome tactical options, Orks are just Guard but more shooty and more choppy, but need to do one or the other.

Canticles Of The Omnissiah

Canticles Of The Archmagos: Only work if Cawl is alive. Work just like the other Canticles but also influence any Imperial vehicles that are within 12" of Cawl, even if they don't have the canticles special rule.

Harmony Of Metallurgy

1-3 IWND

4-7 IWND. Roll two times for IWND instead of one time

8* IWND. Roll three times for IWND instead of one time (so any vehicle etc. could regain 3 wounds from this!)

Word Of Neutralisatoin

1-3 BS+1

4-7 BS+2

8+ BS+3 (so just like the Doctrinas but without any WS penalty and it even works on vehicles that aren't Mechanicus)

Warhymn Of Badassitude (too lazy to look up the correct word)

1-3 6+ Invul save

4-7 5+ Invul Save

8+ 4+ Invul Save

Chainaxe is a lot stronger. AP4 means that it can axtually cut through anything that isn't power armor or better. +1S in 30k.

But no, only power weapons can cut through power armor, and even then, Power Mauls and Power Lances usually can't.

He may replace any Dominus in the formations from our codex. Cawl, Grayfax and Celestine may be taken as an HQ choice in a CAD or allied detachment for ANY Imperial Faction, no matter which faction those three actually come from. So yes, we could take Celestine etc. instead of a Dominus.

Arc-Claw-Thingy ("Bogengeißel"): Range:- S+1 AP4 Close Combat, Haywire, Master-crafted. Has a special rule that let's you re-roll the result on the haywire chart.

Master-crafted Power Axe

Mechandrite Hive: Cawl does 2D6(!!) S4 Ap- attacks at Ini 10 if he is in close combat. Doesn't grant an additional pile-in move. He also has a Dataspike, so potential 13 S4 AP- Ini 10 attacks, BEFORE he even starts to swing with his axe!

Scryerskull: At the start of your turn you can identify a mysterious objective anywhere on the map.

Solar-Atomiser: Range 12", S10, AP1 Assualt D3, Master-Crafted, Melter

Special Rules:

Warlord Trait is the one that let's him re-roll FNP rolls.

Special rule 1 (not gonna translate the German names for those): At the start of your turn, Cawl regains D3 wounds. Yep, no roll for this or anything, he just gets them back!

I can definitely see that being something you could work into the game. If you upgrade your base to have a garage, you can take one transport per 10 men iirc. So if you were to play with a point limit over 500 (for example) then you could wire in a rule like, one tank once your army has at least 35 models. The tank can't have an armour rating of more than 34 would be my rule. If you wanted to go more in detail, you could make it so you upgrade to a garage, then a motor pool which lets you upgrade one transport to a tank.

We learned that there was a combined imperial detachment that gives you "when a unit is wiped on a 5+ return them to reserves, Hatred, and if you max out a slot choice:Zealot." it requires 1 HQ and 4 troop choices minimum but any faction of the imperium can use it.

I think the rule for any transport is that the unit needs to have the transport noted in their list of available options in order for you to put them inside. so if your daemons codex says they can take a transport, you can use that one for them np, otherwise no. I'm not sure how it works for putting them inside after the game starts, they just can't start in it.

I play Astra Militarum, using the Cadia Supplement. Since Cadia has fallen, my FLGS is banning the Cadia Supplement. This, of course, also means I can't use the Baneblade or any of its variants since they're not in my basic codex.

The shop already bans FW stuff. So I'm effectively without a Super Heavy/LoW in a tournament environment where people heavily use such options.

I'm also the only Astra Militarum player at the shop, so this new ban only effects me.

I should clarify, that the shop owner doesn't actually manage the events. Instead we have a separate guy who volunteers at the shop to be the TO of the events (He refuses to call them tournaments) and decides what is allowed and not.

Before I moved here, there were players they use to have that brought the most OP lists they can use, they were kicked from the store after getting FW banned.

Yeah but he's not a monstrous creature, which means that this force multiplier can be added to death starts and benefits/adds to the Imperium's ability to stack characters.

No, I play Tyranids.

And yes, it is about the combination of durability and ridiculous firepower and mobility that Riptides have that make them retarded to play against, and yes, the fact that you can only have one of him DOES mitigate how powerful he is.

This guy is tougher than a 'tide but he doesn't have the same mobility to get him into position, or the same firepower to make him a threat that NEEDS to be brought down otherwise you lose. His Canticles are one-use-only like all Canticles and if you shoot the units to death that are benefitting from them you solve the problem. Incoming St Celestine Buffs:
* 200pts, comes with her 2 Geminae Superia included.
* 5wounds, up from 3 otherwise her statline is the same.. AND SHE HAS ETERNAL WARRIOR!!! (technically she doesn't have the Shield of Faith special rule any more, and neither do the Geminae, but Celestine gets Adamantium Will to make up for it)
* The Ardent Blade now has the Armourbane rule, otherwise the same.
* Celestine gets a once per game Orbital Barrage called The Emperor's Vengeance! Range Unlimited, S8, AP3, Assault 1, Barrage, Large Blast, Orbital.
* Geminae Superia are WS5, BS4, S3, T3, I4, 2W, 2A, 3+ Armour
* Celestine can join units along with her Geminae!!
* Geminae have Divine Guardian rule. This gives them a 4+ Invuln, and whilst any of them are alive all wounds against Celestine are resolved against the closest Geminae instead!
* Healing Tears: At the start of each of your turns, set up a single slain Geminae anywhere within 2" of Celestine! Looks like mum isn't the only one who can come back from the dead!
* Miraculous Intervention is unchanged from the ebook, other than that it specifies she can use Healing Tears to bring a Geminae back to life on the turn she 'resurrects'

* Saintly Blessings: Celestine can give a 12" radius buff to friendly non-vehicle Army of the Imperium units at the start of each of your turns. Each buff can only be used once per game, and affect units based on their Battlefield Role (independent chars get effected as long as they stay in the unit):
HQ Units: Zealot until the start of the next turn
Troops: FNP 6+ until the start of next turn. If models already have FNP, they get a +1 bonus to FNP instead...
Elites: Counter-Attack and Furious Charge until start of next turn
Fast Attack: Crusader and Fleet until start of next turn
Heavy Support: Relentless until start of next turn
Lord of War: It Will Not Die for the rest of the game.
In addition to all that, any army that contains Celestine (or is from a Wrathful Crusade formation or Castallens of the Imperium detachment) lets characters take items from the new Ecclesiarchy Relics list. Choices include a 35pt Eternal Warrior relic, 15pt S4 AP2 pistol that ignores invulnerable saves, a 35pt relic that gives a 4+ invuln save and stops Deep Strikes within 12" (if they scatter within 12", auto mishap!) and a 30pt Power Sword that on a pass Ld Test becomes S+2, AP2.

I dont think an HQ and 2 troops will win you a single 750 point game.

They had one of the guys who helps write the rules of game on their live stream.

The official GW stream for the GW game.

He didn't know you couldn't charge out of a rhino.

No one on that stream did.

I rarely make posts on any board but here goes:
I recently unearthed all my 40k stuff, after roughly..maybe 9/10 years.

I have stripped the paint off all the metal models for my iron warriors army and most of the plastic. My intent was just to finish my necron army, which has went unfinished since maybe 2003, and maybe sell on my iron warriors... but I'm missing parts.

A lot of them.

My first inclination was just to go in to the store and buy back the parts I needed like I bought the wings for my daemon prince all those years ago. Nope, they don't do that anymore. So I look online, everything is drastically over priced considering the fact that the models have literally no worth to anyone not buying them directly from games workshop.

So I decide just to bide my time with this and finish the stuff I can. I go into a local independent store thinking I'll save a bit buying paint from them instead. I buy only the paint I need to pain necron troops. Firstly the paints having a completely new naming system which is okay I guess but also a new classification system which confuses me a little, secondly when I go to the cash register I end up blowing £19, for about 5/6 paints and plastic glue.

keep in mind last time I bought paint in games workshop it was £1. I almost shat. I have fun painting them because I'm not a stupid kid anymore my necrons don't look like ass.

Which brings me to the next problem, by this point I'm sizing up this hobby as a complete write off, like I'm always going to be fucked over on price point but aside from that the game as I knew it no longer exists. Neither does my army, necrons are just tomb lords now, they aren't horrors from space...that fucking flayed one dude... mother of Christ. The aesthetic to me feels all wrong. I know that's a point of contention and you can be cannon selective but at the end of the day the models being sold aren't the ones I want.

Sorry for the vent, but this is basically the question I'm asking CONT

Looks like capacity would drop because of that xbawkes gun. You're not gonna get Salamanders until guard are retooled. Never ever.

What is the point ? Where does it become worth it ? Should I just give away my army ?

I really don't want to pick up another hobby like videogames where all it is, constant disapointment, the occasional bit of fun and constantly having my wallet fucked.

At this point its tragic how much of a parody the game system is to the 40k universe.

I have to continue reading it, but if some rules are obviated and others seem changed, there are rules that already exist in 7e but are slightly changed. It seems that they are already putting some concepts of the new edition already in this book, army composition, special rules slightly changed.

Fuck you. You clearly didn't even watch the stream or listen to firsthand accounts that weren't autists REEEing over crunchrape.
They didn't charge out of Rhinos because they thought they could. The commentator fucking made a whole point about how it was against the rules but everyone was allowing it because of muh narrative.

It's still a completely shit reason but it's one about GW's opinion of how the game should be played, not GW's incompetence as rules writers.

Wrathful Crusade (Formation)
Celestine, Inquisitor Greyfax, 1 Space Marine Captain, 0-1 Sternguard, 2-4 Crusader Squads, 1-2 Assault Squads, 1 Militarum Tempestus Platoon. All Space Marine must have Black Templar Chapter Tactics
Everything gets Crusader
If the formation has the max number of units, everyone gets Zealot
All units can re-roll failed Charge rolls. If you roll 10 or more for your charge range, you get Furious Charge.

Grand Convocation Detachment:
Units can be drawn from Codex Astra Militarum, Cult Mechanicus, Imperial Agents, Imperial Knights or Skitarii. The available units are restricted to mainly the ones from Codex: Skitarii, Cult Mechanicus and Imperial Knights though. Enginseers are the only Guard unit you can take
HQ: 2-4, Troops: 4+, Elites: 0-6, Fast Attack: 0-6, Heavy Support: 0-6, LoW: 0-3
All Vehicles get It Will Not Die. If they are within 12" of any HQ from the detachment, they also get Power of the Machine Spirit
If the formation hast the max number of units (except troops, since you can take unlimited lol...) then everything gets Canticles of the Omnissiah
Warlord can re-roll Warlord Trait
>>
>>51138280
No, you fucking idiot.

Don't reply to my posts again you sub-human trash.
>>
Castellans of the Imperium Detachment
Units can be drawn from basically any Army of Imperium codex and their supplements. There's literally big lists of units you can take for each slot, which at a quick glance seems to basically include everything besides unique characters (aside from Black Templar, Adepta Sororitas and Inquisition unique characters though, which can be taken. Pask and Yarrick too). Interestingly enough, Codex: Inquisition and Codex: Adepta Sororitas are listed alongside Codex: Imperial Agents as available sources. That should clear that debate right up.
HQ: 2-4, Troops: 4+, Elites: 0-6, Fast Attack: 0-6, Heavy Support: 0-6, LoW: 0-3
All units get Hatred. If you have the max number of units, except troops, everyone gets Zealot
Each time a Troops Choice is destroyed, roll a d6. On a 5+ an identical unit immediately goes into Ongoing Reserve, and counts as a unit from this detachment (so it can potentially be recycled again later)
Warlord can re-roll Warlord Trait

Apparently not. Apparently GW dice roll almost twice as many ones as they should because the pips effect the roll and rounded corners and small dice don't help. Batch rolling will bring the distribution closer to normal though. Most die are close enough though.
