The old world was essentially infinite, too. It had defined boundaries but they never defined the scale. There were as many elves as the story needed, as many beastmen forests as the story needed, etc.

It's the same shit but without boundaries now.

In AoS Slaanesh is the only God that truly can stand on his own with just straight up Daemons.

In 40k, you need so many Daemons that by the time you finish there will be the new edition, but they are a really fine force on smaller games.

Yes, that's one of downsides. Only one Battalion, no battletome and the KoS is an almost necessary piece but looks like garbage.

There are rumours of a new KoS in the making, but who knows if that's even true.

The army itself is quite strong though. People know it's fast, but they can't quite understand it until you have charged first turn the artillery they were keeping behind a ruin.

Pestilens is made out of 6 units, and then Lord Skrolk as a legacy unit.

Biggest problem is Plague censers are shit so really it's only 5 units. Priests are okay and required for the better battalions. That said we have more shitty battalions than good ones.

They need to give us fucking points for the starting box battalions, both of those are great but you need to house-rule to use them

I was looking at building a regiment but going from the comments about the freeguilds everyone is suggesting gunners. Is there a particular reason to favor them over the other ranged options?

I'm not looking to powergame my army, I play Tau and Space Marines. I want to play AoS for the cool fantasy setting and painting opportunities.

Having 1 Hurricanum is an essential part of freeguild.
Having 3 to 5 is already in the win at all cost category.
the only reason that hangunners are better (but you could simply magnetise to switch easily) is the -1 rend and the fact they are the most potent of the ranges freeguild in close combat.
most of your army doesnt have any rend, so this is why the mortal wounds from the hurricanum and rend from the handgun is really important

Currently, is it do or die regarding the Hurricanum? I play casual games for AoS and aren't keen on the insta-win units like 40K as I find that sort of stuff pretty boring.
