If you can add on shit now and even after the KS, then why are there Black Friday Lanterns and Black Friday Golden Lanterns?

Help me understand this campaign's ambitions here. Why are they making two tiers exclusive when the only difference is manually adding 100 dollars or not.

Let's look at is this way.
If you buy Screaming God you can start at a point in the game where all that shit is skipped.
If you buy Red Witches or the Black Knight you get a pair of 3 and 5 year mini campiagns.
If you buy the Campaigns of Death book you also get short mini campaigns + new storylines for current expansions.

So with all that said and done Gorm may become much less crucial.

Just fought the butcher for the first time. We drew clinging mist, and rolled a 1, so we had to take our B team to the fight. We lost two, but got the cleaver out of it. It was definitely a ramp up in difficulty, i'm scared of the next nemesis now.

About to embark on the Kingsmen fight. Only time we EVER got ammonia from the deck was when Dash showed up alongside it, so we took dash instead. Have killed three lvl 2 lions with our A team, but still haven't gotten the ammonia event to pop. No more chances for shields before the fight.

We have a red savior with +1 speed, a frenzy drink, a zanbato, and 3 Red affinities as our damage dealer. as well as someone with Ambidextrous and a pair of bone swords for dealing with battle pressure.

Remaining two are a dude with the Cats Eye, and another in full rawhide who has a frenzy drink and counterweight axe.

6 max survival, 3 departing survival, all survival actions.

What are our chances? Didn't struggle when the kingsmen came, so it's only level 1.

Other than the lack of prep for his trap you're about as ready as anyone could be. Meaning, it'll come down to luck as to whether or not you get King's Step early enough.

Can anyone recommend some good tutorials on how to get into painting models? I don't know the first thing about it, but would like to start learning now so that when this ships I'll have some experience and won't fuck up the great models. I've looked around online a bit but there seems to be a lot of various information in a lot of different places. My biggest question is whether or not I need to actually shell out for citadel paints or if that's just a meme and any other paint set would work fine.

That's what I kind of figured. I also have a ton of questions when it comes to...well everything I guess. Priming, thinning paints, finishing, etc etc etc...I've never done any model painting before whatsoever and the more I look into it the more I realize I know nothing. Yes, it's just generally regarded as a bad idea, hence the Node system. It's more of a guideline than anything. Node 1 and 2 are BASICALLY interchangeable.

It's technically not possible to have EVERYTHING, as the Watcher and the Tyrant can never show up in the same campaign (not counting homebrew), and Slenderman just straight up replaces any Kingsmen fights in your campaign.

The major issue you run into is with gear. If you actually try to hunt everything, you will have a hard time completing any sets, unless you ramp up the levels VERY early on for the extra resources.

Medium Answer: Yes, but to do so by RAW you'll have to wait until after Endless Screams to add the spider to an "existing campaign" and after Armored Strangers to add the Slenderman.

Long answer: Yes, but this is a TERRIBLE idea. Either some of it will go completely unused, at which point why did you include that expansion? (Fighting Arts and Disorders, I guess?) or you'll never finish a set of anything monster-specific, which sucks. I guess you could go for endgame armor sets being Rawhide/Leather/Lantern/Green but good freeking luck having the resources for that.

Cheapest all expansion option is going to end up being Gambler's 2nd Face + all old expansions as unplanned expansions get added. Satan's Final Form is almost certainly going to be $75 and if there's anything else (and/or you want the Super Survivors) then it becomes cheaper than Ancient Gold Lantern + all new expansions.

The Lion God has always been one of those things that had so much depth and potential but just did not live up to it. This looks like it will be what it needs to live up to that potential. The Lion God was never really an appropriate 'quarry', it always felt like something that should've been the final climactic fight to a campaign. It's problem was that it was too bloody hard and the rewards weren't good enough to justify hunting him. With this making him the star of a new campaign and adding in a whole new ecosystem surrounding him? Yeah, that's fucking cool.

Probably one of the most intriguing expansions added here. I'm looking forward to it, for sure.

Yeah, I feel like the "Dungeon" mechanic is a bit of a movie trailer for KD:L I'm getting Silver City thanks to bundle pledge and have added on Lion God (along with Tree, which I was also missing before the KS). It seems pretty expansive, but I'm not totally surprised: It has a 100 MSRP and Lion God + Silver City looks to have a level of content similar to the Dragon King with a huntable monster (if a shitty one), another new monster, some survivor minis, and an alt campaign. LG/SS has a little more stuff, what with the dungeon tiles and minions, but the campaign probably isn't fully transformative the way People of the Stars is.

Lion God was actually a really fun fight, the problem was that it was brutally, punishingly hard and gave negligible rewards for all the effort you put into it. As a final boss to a campaign, it should be a winner.

There are approximately 2300 cards in the Core game and the Current Expansions.
666 gear cards, 1519 AI/HL/FA/etc. cards, 28 Settlement Events and 22 Settlement Locations.

With the estimated number of cards included in the new expansions added onto that we're just shy of 4400 cards, any newly added expansions will increase that.

Anon, don't compare the Satan pledge to buying everything piecemeal, compare it to other pledges people can make.


Ancient Gold Lantern + All New Expansions + Satan's Final Form (assumed to be $75, because the mini is supposed to be yuuge)

Satan difference = $236 for all of the pinups

That last one is not going to change no matter what gets revealed.

Right now, the cost of all the new pinups if you want all the expansions is $17 and liable to become less than $0. The cost of the old pinups on top of that is $219, and will remain that price no matter what.

Another interesting note about the Gambler's Lantern 2nd Face pledge is that you can easily drop the weaker original expansions and save money. If you leave off Wojack Tree, Completionist Bait Armor, and Shitty Antelope Replacement that saves $120 right there. It's not like you'll need that stuff once everything gets delivered after all. (I'd recommend leaving off Vagina Face God to save another $40 but the Silver City actually looks pretty sick and requires him.)

And now you're paying $1227 for a total of 22 expansions and a metric fucktonne of pinups and promos, which is about as good value as you can get.

They can't be selected with the normal packs, so you'd need to purchase a few of those sleeves as add-on packs.

It completely replaces the Antelope, breaking a significant chunk of the core game and several expansions, its gear is significantly worse than the Antelope's gear, and it is significantly more punishing than the Antelope is to hunt. The $219 difference gets you Pinups of Death 1&2, Promos of Death, False Messengers, Adam & Anna Explorers of Death, and the Satan twins (the promos, not the expansion). That's a total of 35 figures. Are 35 pinups and promos worth $219 for you? They would cost $425 to add them all separately, and that wouldn't get you Adam & Anna as those are Satan exclusive and liable to stay that way.

In the end it's up to you. There are currently as many old pinups as there are new pinups, and most of those pinups have not been available for quite some time, so if you really do want everything then it's worth it I suppose. But it's up to you if that's what you want.

It's kinda meh actually after thinking about it for a bit.

Lion God is still shit. It hasn't been changed at all. The one thing that now helps it is the First Hero intro but besides that it's the same old thing.

Silver City sounds cool but it's a condition that happens during a Lion God fight. Gives you incentive to hunt it again if you don't get the thingy, BUT also means that the fight is still bad and gets worse as the levels go up.

The fight is mainly bad because of the rewards, which haven't changed. They just have another 'thing' tacked onto it like the DKG mining event. Theoretically this Event is more robust but you're still shelling out ($60 at discount, $100 MSRP) to make a mediocre fight not actually any better, but just add stuff behind the curtain.

I think you are misunderstanding some details. That one trait is added to the fight, but on top of that you can depart to explore the silver city INSTEAD of going on a normal quarry hunt, and the Lion God gets pushed back to act more like a final boss than as a quarry.

So you can get some the Lion God's rewards in a way that doesn't require you to try and farm the Lion God itself for it, and the Lion God becomes the Endgame boss it always should have been. I suspect there will be some story events where it acts like Regal visit: deal with the result of a table, or fight the Lion God to resist. And then the for-real fight at the end.

The Silver City is about turning something that was an incidental part of the Lion God fight into a new "quarry" in its own right. It's functionally equivalent to adding a new monster, except the monster is spelunking in the city (as opposed to opportunistically looting during the fight as Hollow Earth always has provided).

THE SILVER CITY IS A QUARRY. When you include it in your game, instead of going out to go hunt the Phoenix or the Antelope or whatever the fuck else, you can go out and explore the Silver City. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE FOUGHT THE LION GOD TO UNLOCK THIS. NOWHERE IN THE SUMMARY DOES IT SAY THAT. YOU'RE READING TOO FAR INTO THE CARD 'HOLLOW EARTH' WHICH IS ALREADY PART OF THE LION GOD FIGHT AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SILVER CITY.

Going into the Silver City DOES NOT TRIGGER A FIGHT WITH THE LION GOD. It is completely separate and distinct. it is its own quarry encounter.

Instead, including the Silver City changes your timeline so new story events happen and you end the campaign with a fight against the Lion God (probably level 3) instead of the Gold Smoke Knight.

If you want even more proof of the fact that you do not have to have fought the Lion God to go to the Silver City, consider the fact that Poots is saying it might be introduced in LY12 when the Lion God is introduced in LY13. How the fuck are you going to go visit the Silver City a year before the "requirement" to do so even unlocks? It's retarded and so are you.

The Silver City is expanding on the theme of what the Hollow Earth card initially presented. It is not mechanically tied to that card at all.
