Many people even prefer it this way to keep strategy planning from being bogged down in discussion.

Currently planning to add traps because twitch fucked us out of those. Also playing with the idea of a suplex fighting art that allows Fist and Tooth users to knock down a monster if they roll a lantern 10 on their strength roll at the cost of forgoing the wound. Kinda hard to balance monster knockdown though.

All you people making these terrible homebrew monsters should look at the monsters already out. A lot of them follow several Themes that make the design process easier and more understandable.

Yes there are themes present across the expansion. But if you seriously think it's 100% flavor and none of the expansions are filling specific mechanical niches, then you are literally retarded. You can fill a mechanical niche while also retaining your flavor.

For example, the Sunstalker adds multi-use arrows. How do those "fit its theme?" They fill a mechanical niche and that's it, and then we're just skinned a certain way. They could have gone into literally any expansion, and no one would have noticed a difference.

Beast Knuckles reduce the monsters toughness as you attack it. That has NOTHING to do with the screaming antelope, yet it's made from its parts.

Gorm includes an Alchemy mechanic. Not for any reason specific to it. Nothing about that monster screams "Alchemy". But it's included anyway.

I'm not asking people for shit like "Hey what should the armor set bonus of this monsters armor be" because yes, that's fucking stupid. I'm asking if anyone knows of any small mechanical niches that can be filled while I'm working on custom content anyway. Like literally every expansion does.

The dungeon locations, while dangerous are fairly plentiful with rewards that can only be kept if at least one of the survivors makes it back to the settlement. The showdown itself does not have the greatest rewards as a result.

My thoughts the Dungeon hunt are as follows:
the first spaces on the hunt board act normally as the survivors search for the dungeon entrance.
Once reached the remaining cards will be dungeon cards.
Dungeon events are meant to wear the players down slightly while providing the potential for treasures. Treasure rewards are lost if the departing survivors all die, so its all or nothing.

One unique aspect of dungeons is that they are persistent. If you have to attempt the dungeon showdown again you will encounter the same dungeon. You record any changes (tripped traps, successfully looted treasures etc) on a dungeon record sheet.
Lastly dungeon encounters will be longer than standard encounters usually providing multiple choices for risk and reward.
Its meant to be one tiny step closer to an RPG experience than the current encounters.

Has anyone here ever actually crafted a Perfect Slayer?

If given the opportunity, would you even do it? Fucking thing takes 9 Iron. 9. And it's still possible to lose it due to the Irreplaceable rule. And that -2 movement penalty is brutal.

I mean... sure, you can use the Frenzy Drink to ignore slow and swing with it 4 times per round, but now you can't Dash and are stuck with a single move at -2 movement...

You'd want to wear some sort of hybrid armor set with it, preferably with the Lantern boots with the movement bonus activated to cancel out the penalty. Use as normal until shit hits the fan or the monster is nearly dead. Speed 4 that wounds 3 times each will fuck up any monster's day.

You need to be super lucky to even have the option to craf it.
And then it needs a lot of Iron, I think it also kills some Survivors when crafting it, and all you get is this big lump of metal.

Much of the lore is just few snippets here and there, like for every mini on the store there is a tidbit of information describing their place in Kingdom Death. You have to piece together and draw conclusions from those nuggets of text about the world.

There is no reason to believe that you can run the Inverted Mountain Campaign without all of the listed expansions. You may be able to bull your way through with houserules but you'll almost certainly be left with uncraftable gear, story events that don't trigger or make sense, and game mechanics that don't work because you will be missing half of the pieces which the expansion is designed to integrate.

Campaigns of Death is basically the expansion for people who went bankrupt funding the first KS. Plenty of content, and you only need old expansions. If you have ALL old expansions, you can get away with not getting new stuff.

That said, as bad as the actual model is, frogdog is looking to be the best expansion ever released, due to its multiple tiers of gear.

How is the tts version of kingdom death? Is it a reasonable facsimile of the actual game? I'm super interested in playing the game but not about the model building aspect.

I think there is room. In particular adding a third choice to the current principles.
For example, Conviction principle (has Barbaric and Romantic) could add "Pragmatic" - Survival limit +1 - Once per settlement phase you may suffer -1 population to reroll the dice during a settlement event adding +1 to the new result.

New Life principle could add "Go forth and multiply" - gain +1 endeaver each settlement phase which must be used for intimacy. Departing survivors gain +1 survival for every 10 population in your settlement.

Depends how many cards come in Satan, but it's probably not many more than another 500. I haven't tallied them up though. I also don't have the sunstalker/Lion God/Tree because they're garbage so you may need more.

Tabard can be crafted with no specific location, as long as you have the right innovations. REQUIRES you to sacrifice one of your starting Cloth gear cards.

Arms require an unknown expansion that will likely be from the Gamblers Chest, Camapign of Death, Inverted Mountain, or Screaming God, but we don't know for sure which. The arms are not required for completing the armor set.

It'S kind of a stand in for dog-tag, soul or watch. Time is calculated in the consumption of lanterns, since there is no night and day cycle, everybody seems to be assigned a lantern after birth, a monster carrying several lanterns is indicated to be a slayer of men.

There are different coloured lanterns as well, containing night magical properties and eminating a specific aura.

When do you guys usually start fighting lvl 2 lions? My group's going in to year 8 and we're trying to get as much weapon crafter/leather gear as possible to get revenge on the linesman for killing 5 of our settlement last year.

We were thinking of going for lvl 2 since we killed our last white lion without taking any damage and we could do with more lion resources, we've still not had any sinew or cats eyes despite fighting nothing but lions.

Shit, what have you been doing? As boring as it is, I would suggest sticking to Lv 1 Lions for now.
The Antelope is most of the time not worth it, it does not give any more rewards than the Lion, has shittier Hunt Events, is even more jumpy than the Lion and autokills your 20+ insane Survivors. Only hunt if you have high luck or clubs and shields for bonus crit chance.
Also Cat Eye Circlet is just insanely good, the bow is pretty good to, so get that first. I feel your pain, in our first campaign we did not get that eye until LY20. And now, just to mock us in our current campaign, we draw it like every time.
