Tips to make wildshape focused druid relevant at higher levels?

Already picked up some obvious stuff like planar wild shape, considering dipping Barbarian for full BAB and rage or 1 lvl in Ranger for full favoured enemy.

You'll still do fine, anon. Halberd is in fact what I'm currently using!

When you get to level 6 you should switch to a Longspear for the Reach, the downgrade to a 1d8 is worth it, though if you can convince your DM to allow custom-weapons you could get a 2d6 reach weapon.

Hey I assume you guys are more experienced than me, so I thought I'd ask some advice. I've got a new group to play with and our character creation session went fine, all fun people, though everyone is new to tabletops in general besides 3 of us, and only the GM and I have played pathfinder. But we just had our first actual game session and while we had dun, I was quick to recognize a monty haul campaign in the making.

All our characters started off with +2 weapons, I personally got a +1 parrying scimitar. Also we started off with 1000 extra gp each immediately. Also in 3 encounters + plot experience we are now level 3. What's more is the sorceress only got a +2 quarterstaff she'll never use so she is obviously feeling under powered in comparison to the fighter types. Would it be out of line etiquette wise to talk to the gm and warn him of the issues he is creating?

Any advice for what to do?

You rarely, if ever, need to know anything about Golarion to play in a game. You can just say that your character was born in a distant/local city/town/farm and is there for business/pleasure/"pleasure".

Also, you never know. Every character is one out of 70+, so everyone's got a shot.

The easiest way to make a character in a less than serious game is to choose a white collar profession and then attribute all the combat skills or otherwise to "really harsh office politics".

That also comes along with the promise that I want in, which honestly I don't really think so. I haven't been busting for a new game in a looong time, nor do I really have anything creative build I want to try to play. And if I were to hype myself up now I'll just be burnt out by the time the game actually starts next year.

Admittedly I do miss having a weekly get together and hop on a mic with a few other players and share some laughs, but I think I might be good on that for now. If you want to make it better, pick up a pair of sniper goggles and replace the ring of invisibility with a wand for 4,500 gp and pump UMD for attacks at 150 ft. range for attacks 8d6+sneak attack damage, hitting 10 AC (as it's a firearm, it pierces armour in the first range, and being invisible makes it ignore dex to AC).

Hey all, for those of you who were wondering where some of the playtest archetypes went, I'm refining a few of them now, including a few new talents for the Trickshot Sniper as well as a few buffs since I realized 3/4ths BAB archery is still difficult.

Mercurial Duelist is also coming out soon in Asian Archetypes: Martial with a sample character, and the dragon book is still on the works, so I'll keep you all posted if the dragon book gets a full playtest eventually.

Yes. Too much wealth and experience breaks games just as badly as too little.

People may feel that their characters are progressing *too* fast, or they're getting too much shit (which has too little to do with their character).

I remember playing a 3.5 game where I ended up at 10th level without even a suit of full-plate as a paladin, let alone a +1 weapon. It was horrible. I had to discard characters just to remain relevant.

Beyond that knowing which end is which with a shovel, hammer or axe is helpful in military campaigns - you build entrenchments and fortifications and even do shit jobs like chop wood or dig latrines. This shit was why the roman military was so fucking good - everyone did shit jobs for about two years until they could get taken into a side profession or something else; it lead to a surplus of two things: discipline and specialists.

Thing is that she has to get to Sandpoint somehow, which means fleeing Shokuro. Here's how the lines of my thinking went.

1) I want to play something that's STR and CHA based.
2) Angelkin Aasimar are +STR and CHA.
3) Tianjing has Aasimar!
4) For class it'll be Paladin||Bard, and since we're going to Tian-Xia she can be a samurai.
5) Shokuro has samurai!
6) So she's a samurai from Shokuro with Tianjing ancestry. What if she's a bastard?
7) I like the concept of tsundere.

So now she's tsundere from her outcastish background, an aasimar from her real father, a samurai from her fake father, and in Sandpoint because of her failure to defend her lord.

And the reason that Seibei gets into a fight with the other samurai, is because the other samurai was domestically abusing his spouse, who was a childhood friend of seibei's.

Seibei married above his station and his wife got sick and died. So with this going on, he decided to try and intervene for his non-samurai friend (and his sister, who he'd long had an unrequited love for). The other samurai was a drunkard and gets offended at seibei telling him "stop beating your wife, faggot" and challenges him to a duel.

Seibei is like "oh-shit, if it gets out that I sold my swordblade to provide medicine for my wife... and pay for the extravagant funeral her family demanded, i'll be in real shit... and my lord has forbid lethal duels too... but I cant be known as a coward". So he shows up with a practice wakizashi.

The duel is witnessed and seibei jumps over the other samurai's *real* sword and whacks him on the head and knocks him out. Seibei's lord hears about it, shames the other samurai, annuls his marriage in the face of domestic violence (whoo double shame) and has it spread that seibei beat him with one stroke the guy basically goes and kills himself after this.

after more drama and complications, seibei ends up getting married to his friends sister / childhood friend / unrequited love

Find Dwarves of Golarion, Inner Sea World Guide, and Inner Sea Gods.

For mechanics:

Not all of the 3pp stuff is well made, but the mainline DSP products are top-notch; better designed than most of the Paizo books.

Look at Stalker/Warder/Warlord/Zealot.

Some of the guys here can better help you pick Disciplines than I can.

If your GM disallows the DSP stuff, you're gonna want to find a way to go with something that has magic, unless you know the game is going to only be low-level stuff.

In a Paizo-Only game I might look at a War-Domain cleric, or a Magus, or a Warpriest, or a Paladin, or one of my favorites for fighty types: Fighter 1/Cleric 19, and build with a very martial focus, and play it up as not knowing your power source, and thinking that's just your own abilities.

Clerics do not need to be healers, or even priests.

"Character Class" is just a loose thematically grouped collection of mechanical class features.

The hedgewitch thing I was kinda just taking as a way to get paladin themed sphere abilities. Should I try and write more on the development of the magic/skilled side? There's a fairly long period of time I could write for, but I didn't want the story getting too long this early.

I've had a hard trying to write her attachment issues without refering to others. In my mind, she was wanting to see the world and possibly find out about her heritage if possible but I can't seem to find a way to write it in nicely. And maybe have her be a good cook, seeing as she likely had to make her own food while growing up. She also just wants a loving relationship but can't seem to trust those close to her enough for that.

Yeah, don't run horror for your first campaign. Just go for something small, like goblin smashing and the classic inn beginning, if only to get accustomed to mechanics.

That's just my suggestion, though. I tried to start too big as a GM when I first started, and it was clear I had no mastery over the system and ended up having a shitty game. Plus, horror is a theme that's hard to write for, especially when you prepare for so long and your players end up being beer and preztel.

Horror is hard in Pathfinder, because it's at its heart a power fantasy, and you can't scare someone when they're a wall made of metal and muscle, or when they can summon fire with a snap, unless you take that away from them. Then you run into the problem of people getting angry that they aren't being allowed to play.

That means all horror has to be role play based, but not only that, it has to be tailored. Dig deep into your players. Find out what scares them. What keeps them up at night? Then build off that.

You are designed to run out of resources (be it spells, abilities or even hitpoints) in the standard "four encounter" day. It is better to kill something and stop it from doing damage than it is to try and heal through it.

The Oracle/Rogue has +37 to diplomacy once a day.

He also has more skill ranks to work with (he he is built currently he would have 14 ranks per level), and a better skill base for knowledge skills.
