I don't need Hybrid, when I can use the spawn to create an Antitoxin Hybrid with some experimentation. Maybe in time sciencedude and I can perfect the tech integration process and have that feature going for us too. Even without these hypotheticals though, in the end I'm not going to go down permanently. A healing specialized symbiote with the regen trait will have insane healing rates. Tendrils are mostly for mobility and awareness. Shapeshifting is for chaning my identity whenever I want, so that j jonah cuckeson wont be able to solidly pin bullshit on me.

Why not go one step further and do what Capcom vs SNK 2 did; different Grooves with different power mechanics that allow varied effects. Just gotta learn how to waltz into the bell gargoyles with a +5 Black Knight Halberd and Grass Crest Shield. Though that takes some speedrunning tactics and having the Master Key. Running into Blighttown from down near New Londo lets you farm a lot of stuff if you're trying to get something like a +10 weapon before seeing the Gargoyles. Or you can go to Darkroot Basin by juking the drakes and pick up the Black Knight Halberd after learning to FUCKING PARRY THAT STUPID CUNT SHIT I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED IT A-FUCKING-GAIN GODS WHY THE FUCK-- After you pick up the Black Knight Halberd, go through Blighttown and pick up the Twinkling Titanite from the Great Hollow, and you should have enough to get a decently upped Halberd. You should be able to kill Quelaag and then use the trick to kill Endless Discharge for enough souls to boost your weapon. You can then use the rest to level up.

Being so OP and steamrolling the first part of the game makes the last half a lot more bearable for me.

As I remember I did ok at the monsters but sens fortress had a TON of traps that would make you lose all progress. I was making progress in the game but it ceased being rewarding to me. I wasn't even raging anymore I just did not want to spend another 500 hours on it. I might give it another go someday.

Okay, I'm definitely doing that one. I've played about halfway through 3, and really like the look and fell of the games, but I found the lore a little inscrutable. Are there any good lore/boss resources I should look at? I would go to /v/, but you know how /v/ is.

In Dark Souls 1 it felt like there was a grand truth behind it all. In DS3 it feels like its a jumbled mess and no one really knew that they wanted the game to be.

A dozen? You lucky son. I must have spent 20 hours on it (it took days and I would say about 500 attempts if I includes runs that failed quickly about 200 for real attempts). I was VERY careful about the traps but I just don't quite have the same muscle memory other people have (part of what got me into RPGs was being unable to compete with any of my friends on FPS's). Not that I am complaining just giving the situation so I was not kidding on a 500 hour estimated time left when I stopped.

This one was created from the accumulation of "curses" into a single form. Basically, a Soul like this is made from hundreds or thousands of weak curses leave their target and coalesce into a Soul.

Possible examples I can think of would be the dying curses of people buried in a graveyard coming together to form a new life, inhabiting some nearby object or creature. Another one would possibly be the ire a populace holds for a location, all the negative superstitions and shit, pooling beneath the location and spawning some guardian monster.

There aren't really any bad powers or companions, they all sound pretty cool, so I'm going with what I think would help me escape the facility and fight badguys the best.
