What race makes the best booze? Which makes the best food in general?
>>
>>47587235
Actually, tertiary question. Is there curry or anything spicy like that in Tamriel? Cyrodil, Skyrim, and Highrock all seem pretty standard western food. Morrowind I'm really not sure of the cuisine. I imagine Orc food is largely pretty barebones.
>>
>>47587275
Morrowind cuisine will involve a lot of carbohydrates, like Ash Yams, mostly shellfish sort of meat or very tough meat from things like Guar and obviously a lot of spices.
So yes, expect very indian food but with a lot of shellfish meat because I expect they prefer it to tougher meat of larger animals...of course unless they also have some special preparation methods like boiling that meat for hours or some furnace pits and stuff.

Guys, do you think it's possible to manipulate firnament to change location of "stars" or Serpent?
I mean Dawn Magic can make moons disappear, veil has been changed twice once by Alessia and recently by Martin and shit like Numidium exists that can warp everything.
So imagine someone finding a way to change firnament to create a constalation that doesn't exist for some ritual or to make himself more powerful through pure creatia or something.
>>
>>47587323
More importantly, what do you think is nature of firnament and Mundus as a bubbled up plane in general?
Is it a bubble of Oblivion like other planes of Oblivion but with Creatia flowing into it and Akatosh sort of "strecthed" in and around it creating veil and time?
>>
>>47587323
It probably is, but this is world-scale magicks on the level of Middle Dawn.

It's gonna be based off Tribunal's Mournhold, but with some artistic license applied. What would you like to see changed?

Currently I'm planning to make the Great Bazaar busier (atleast a dozen market stands instead of 2) and turn the plaza Brindisi Dorom into a lower class residential district.

Probably the Imperials, I wouldn't be surprised if they have ancient ayleid wines and 500 year old brandy.

>best food
If you want fanciful food that's going to be overpriced, Highrock.
Sweets are from Elsweyr.
The spiciest foods are probably from Morrowind.
Southern Cyrodiil leading into Black Marsh would be a good place to grow a lot of fruits to add to Imperial dishes.

Cyrodil has alcohol with no negative effects, so probably them.

Highrock for the main course, Elsweyr for dessert.

It's almost guaranteed that the game would end up being disappointing. Even if it was well done, the expectations for Morrowind v2.0 would be unrealistically high.

Add to that the issue of there just not being that much interesting shit going on there after the events with the Nerevarine.

I think of all the settings, Black Marsh or Valenwood are the most interesting right now. Summerset Isles could also be cool, but unlikely to happen as it would be quite difficult to explain not-Elves in Nazi Elf Land. Unless they decide to do another huge time-skip, but fuck that.

Most probably. I recall something like that about a year or two ago. Evveryone obviously called it fake then but considering that exactly the same thing happened with fallout 4....

Recently I've made a lot of progress on the overdue completion of UMSO, planning on making it compatible with Morrowloot 4E from the start this time. Oh, and spears are going to be in(as an option because the animations are a bit off). Any interesting ideas for Skyrim-related lore or artifacts you want me to add to the game and upload to the nexus?

Anything new for Scrollhammer? Any plans to write Elder Scrolls rules for Age of Sigmar?

Imperials seem to have some of the best booze - most of the wine and brandy comes from the Imperial provience.

However, you could argue that the dunmer make the best drinks, since they have some of the most variety. Most of the Imperial beverages are good due to age more than anything else, and they really only make brandy and wine.

Nord's sucks because they only have three kinds of mead and some vague ale. Even the mead with the juniper berries is all but lost.

It's interesting to realize that in Kvatch, you can find a severed head in one of the houses. Later information in Skyrim makes me think that was probably Jiub.

>Summerset Isles could also be cool, but unlikely to happen as it would be quite difficult to explain not-Elves in Nazi Elf Land.
This again...it'd be hard to explain humans, yes, but the Thalmor don't particularly hate the others /as much/.
I doubt you'd see orcs or argonians since they'd have no reason to go there in the first place, but khajiit and bosmer are citizens of the Dominion. Dunmer wouldn't likely be there either, altmer in general I think have a rivalry of sorts with them.
>Unless they decide to do another huge time-skip, but fuck that.
I doubt that heavily, because the main reason they did one for Skyrim was because the over-arching story of Dagon preparing for, and then succeeding in, the invasion of tamriel, and the story of Uriel trying to keep tamriel together after the simulacrum, all that was wrapped up and little remained to work with in that era. Not enough for a game at least. The Great War had the opposite problem, too much for a game, and thank the gods they didn't try it regardless of that.
Might be a decade skip at most, but anything at this point is just rumors and conjecture. Hopefully they'll say something in their coming conference.

I think after Skyrim they might've actually learned to give themselves some time.
And this time there won't be a triple-number release date that'll fuck the scheduling. Should at least be solid.
Also this: >>47595170, there's still a bit of fallout 4 dlc they're wrapping up, so the actual development probably won't get much momentum until the last patches are done and released.

Fuck, I've been out of the loop for too long.

And Age of Sigmar might not be a bad way to do ES. WFB is great, but it's all for its own universe, and there seems to be general agreement that AoS could use some more flavor, and ES might bring some much-need flavor and thereby rigidity.

Duke quit chapter master and he hasn't done anything for Scrollhammer for like a year.

AoS is such a barebones system that you could basically design Elder Scrolls stuff for it from the ground up, and still have it be cross-compatible with GW rules. Plus being skirmish based with lots and lots of summoning is perfect for TES.

Prior to Zurin's reconstruction and discovery of Numidium, it was a complete unknown. The only people who knew about its existence was likely limited to the Tribunal and associated higher-ups. It's almost completely left out of the histories of Morrowind save for brief mentionings of the Dwemer trying to create their own god. They wouldn't have even called it the Numidium back then, but rather "Anumidum."
Following Tiber's use, the Numidium was only known in legend, incredibly obscure ones at that, most seemingly not even mentioning Tiber's involvement. The truth of the Numidium was a tightly kept secret that even most Blades were not aware of. The only reason the Bay Kings knew about Numidium was because of the Emperor's misplaced letter, which Gortwog needed the King of Worm's help to even make sense of before he could leak its info.
After the warp in the west, a large amount of people were made aware of the Numidium's existence, but only in the manner the 'legends are true manner.' Its origins, purpose, and true capabilities remained a secret to just about everyone (Actually, even the Emperor probably wasn't all too aware of most of that).

So do you understand now why "Numidium brandy" is a bit fucking ridiculous?

How long do the races live?

Do all dunmer and altmer live hundreds of years or is it just the more powerful magic practitioners?

The human races from what I can tell live as long as us with the exception of bretons who live longer due to being elf mutts.

Don't even know about orcs, khajiit, and argonians
>>
>>47601308
The official statement is that Elves live to 300 or 400, and the beast races live as long as humans.

Mages live longer, this is true.

The thing I tend to go off of is

>>
>>47602159
Look, I know the lines are tenuous, but I'd call even the deep lore stuff about TES science fantasy at best. The world itself has essentially medieval technology, with anything that is more modern being a creation of magical manipulation, not technological skill.

That said, try Sotha Sil. I'm pretty sure one of the theories about him is that his mind was uploaded into a big computer that was the Clockwork City all along.

You realize by that time the Tribunal have been cut off from their source of power for centuries and barely have enough power to give the appearance of pretending to be gods, much less actually contain Dagoth-Ur or the blight, right?

It's _literally_ lore reasoned.
>>
>>47604271
They went to the power source constantly, they were hardly cut off yet
>>
>>47604298
They hadn't had access to the tools or the heart for centuries at that point. They were cut off in the second era.
>>
>>47604271
If they had lost all their powers by this point, they wouldn't even be able to maintain the appearance of godhood, and Dagoth-Ur would've started conquering the place already.

They just were losing more and more every day, and what little worship rejuvenated them and what little they could do to ease their burdens didn't give them much wiggle room.
>>
>>47604329
It was a slow process, but they were nowhere near full strength in the third era. It's even mentioned in the chronicles of 1E 2920 that even at that time they were struggling to get access to the tools.
>>
>>47604310
I don;t know when exactly they made the fence, but I doubt it was long after getting cut off

So wait, why does it say Wulfharth was just then adopted by the Nords? And lost his national identity? Also if he is the one who wrote this, why does he talk about himself as if he knows he lost his identity?

Solstheim was pretty obviously designed to bring in a 'little piece of Morrowind' into Skyrim. The settlements, the ash, that's all pretty unexplanitory, especially seeing as Solstheim did not look like that in Bloodmoon. I mean, they put in a silt strider for the sole purpose of giving you Morrowfeels, if that's not fanservice I don't know what is.
The lore is almost completely stuff taken from Morrowind or stuff made to explain what happened after Morrowind. The main quest is also pretty clearly designed to reflect Morrowind's main quest.
Not that this really bad or anything.

Ysmir, the spirit, is Atmoran (because where else would the spirit of the Nords come from). Wulfharth most likely wasn't actually historically born in Atmora, but since he is Ysmir, he was now.

Y'all don't remember shit.
Other races have been to black marsh a ton of times, remember that book about that imperial scholar learning about how the language Jel works?
There were Imperial Missions, settlements, prisons, etc. They didn't last more than a few years except the prisons, but it's not like people are killed within a few days of entering the place.
It's like real swamps. You can live there if you're enough of a stubborn bastard, but why the fuck would you? It's awful and not worth it.
I hate this borderline meme that black marsh has almost a magic barrier that kills people upon entry. Almost as bad as Summerset being nothing but crazy magical bullshit cities, or at least Alinor being nothing but 100% magic shiny Crystal. The fuckers in the lore who said that weren't even in the city, they were sailors seeing it from outside.

How so?
>morrowind
>released from jail to help blades, help investigate 6th house, get corprus and "cure" it, learn about your destiny, become incarnate through deeds and determination, rally the houses, get the tools, fight to get to the heart, destroy the heart before Dagoth ur uses it to become a god by changing mortals into warped God-magic creatures
>Dragonborn
>get a hit put on you, follow clues to find ancient plot, meet the fucker, help Skaal and others with the stones, learn new powers, ally with a daedra, hunt down your rival dragonborn, and kill him before he uses your soul to fuck with mantling and become some measure of a god, or even try to fuck with the Dreamer itself through mantling fuckery.
The biggest similarity is the attempt at ascendance, but the means are vastly different, as is the reasons and scale. Dagoth wanted to do what he saw as a freeing from false-worship, and expanding the average mortal's scope of reality. He acted like a misguided "hero" type. Miraak was power hungry and sought to become a god-above-gods, he might've achieved Chim had he succeeded, if not more. He was a power mad warlord.
>>
>>47611315
I ain't never played Dragonborn, but isn't the plot that people are having strange dreams on an island because of an ancient demi-god?

>>
>>47611351
No, they aren't dreaming, quite the opposite. They physically work to bring about Miraak's return in a sleepwalking-like state, and awaken in the morning with no recollection of the night before. There's no dreams to speak of. The plot is more about why it's happening and then focusing on just the who behind the why, not that it is happening, at least not after you first arrive. It's more a part than the focus. The other part(s) are about different aspects of the "why": miraak using the workers to alter the Stones on the island, a mild perversion of the representation of the towers they have, and seeks to use the influence he gains to feed his power so he can escape Mora's realm. To do this, he also needs the PC's dragonborn soul. This is thought by many, here or otherwise, to be another part of the mantling shenanigans Miraak's using. Using and usurping the PC's role as a Talos symbol to shake free of his own, incidentally, and return to tamriel so he may feed his desire for power. And as one who knows about the Towers to at least some level, that should be frightening.
>>47611407
I feel you, writing that out I did notice a few things they had in common, using sleeping subjects in some manner, usurping divine will, but I think miraak is more of a contrast or a comparison than a similarity.
Dagoth wanted to change tamriel to be more like himself and his followers so he could rule, miraak wanted to change himself so he could become a ruler...well no, more like /the/ ruler.

Because their power is not their own, they stole it from an incredibly dangerous source, willingly betraying Nerevar to do so while keeping this knowledge hidden before proceeding to lie and manipulate the Dunmer into worshiping them in place of their traditional gods and idols, and following their will, crushing and suppressing all those who didn't follow suit.
Overall, they're rulership probably did much more good than harm for the Dunmer, but given the incredible devotion and how much their world had grown to revolve around the Tribunal, its little wonder why the Dunmer would feel incredibly betrayed by the revelation that the Tribunal were just mortals with stolen magical abilities.
I mean, imagine if Jesus was just some guy who happened to find a magic rock that gave him powers.

This could mean that the area around Mournhold is a desert. It's at the same altitude as Alik'r so it seems appropriate to me.
>>
>>47612186
With Mephala and Boethia being based around lies and betrayal, they probably got off on the Tribunal's usurpation of their godhood. Thats a pretty massive lie to be kept up for thousands of years.
>>
>>47612232
I don't know, Indoril lands seem more jungled compared to the Dres salt flats just south.
>>
>>47612342
Maybe according to TR, it's not necessarily right. I personally think making Deshaan into salt flat is pants on head retarded.
>>
>>47612186
That's not really the point. The point is that they completely changed the culture of Morrowind to suit themselves by manipulating the Dunmer into believing their lies. The Dunmer would have never put their faith into the Tribunal had they known the truth, but instead the lie grew and became the canon of Dunmer culture for thousands of years. How would you feel if all your life you had been putting all your faith and devotion into people who have been deceiving you and your ancestors for generations?
The original gods weren't just Daedra, the velothi faith at its core was much more based in ancestor worship than any necessary Daedra worship, but the Tribunal even superseded this.
I'm not really sure where it is ever said that Mephala and Boethiah were fine with being replaced.
>>
>>47612421
I don't like since of the ideas either. What would you rather it be?
>>
>>47612487
The whole ideology behind being a Dunmer is, as Vivec says, build a city of swords to cut yourself into better shapes.
>>
>>47611717
But then you have to question if the human in this case is worthy of worship, if the tick is actually doing more directly for their people. The littler parasites, I guess?

>>47612137
I get what you're saying, but I just find that line of thought a bit hypocritical when the Nerevarine probably isn't actually the reincarnation of Nerevar, but some guy who managed to fulfill the right parts of the prophecy.

And honestly, you have to question if worship really means anything in TES. Are you really getting a blessing from a shrine, or is it just an enchanted bit of furniture? The Daedra don't seem to particularly care if or when they're worshipped, and the Aedra don't seem to do much obvious.
>>
>>47612494
Some of the ideas*
>>
>>47612494
Deshaan is described as "fertile plain" in PGE1:
>Clan Dres rules the southern sweep of Morrowind, where the fertile Deshaan plain merges with the swamps of Black Marsh. The Dres are the great slave-traders and plantation owners of Morrowind.
>House Dres is an agrarian agricultural society, and its large saltrice plantations rely completely on slave labor for their economic viability.
So let it be a fucking plain with a shitton of plantations, salt flat makes fucking zero sense. Even ESO did Deshaan better, even fucking ESO, think about it.
>>
>>47609706
He has ebony blood. Also the legend of Ysgramor crying tears of ebony is related to that.
>>
>>47612585
The whole idea is that to the Dres, it is fertile. In this case I don't even remember where the lore ends and TR begins, but they learned from the Sload how to cultivate crops in the flats. Hence saltrice.

Either way, given a realistic size I'm sure much of it would be plains.
>>
>>47612638
>Hence saltrice
Look at how saltrice grows on Vvardenfell, it doesn't need salt. It's just a regular crop.

To be honest I'm hugely disapponted with TR, they are pretty much Skywind tier fanfiction now, with weirdness for the sake of weirdness.

> they learned from the Sload how to cultivate crops in the flats
Wat.
>>
>>47612487
I think the Tribunal was a better alternative to a Daedra ruled society.

>How would you feel if all your life you had been putting all your faith and devotion into people who have been deceiving you and your ancestors for generations?
I probably wouldn't be too upset. Politican, rulers and religious leaders lie all the time. I live in Sweden and one of our defining kings Gustav Vasa, reformed the country from catholism to protestantism just to claim the local church silver. He also killed the people that helped him become king because they were revolted against his bullshit. He ended up creating a culture that became less trusting of foreginers and outside religions. It didn't really start to disolve until the 18'th century when foregin workforce became required, but people still didn't care much for the original Catholic church and kept viewing it with suspicions for many years. Today catholism means absolutely nothing to us and we don't feel any resentfulness to Gustav Vasa for basically being a dickass crook that would fit right into Game of Thrones like a glove.

Life just went on like it always does and people care more about their daily life than history.
>>
>>47612523
>but I just find that line of thought a bit hypocritical when the Nerevarine probably isn't actually the reincarnation of Nerevar, but some guy who managed to fulfill the right parts of the prophecy
That remains to be seen. Even if the Nerevarine isn't specifically 'Nerevar reborn' there is nothing stopping anyone from saying that maybe fulfilling the prophecies IS what makes you Nerevar reborn. I mean Vivec, Dagoth Ur, and freaking Azura (the one who started the whole prophecy to begin) seem pretty convinced. Have you considered that perhaps the prophecy is a means of weeding people out? That Azura may have specifically formed it to say the person who completes these trials is with no possible doubt, Nerevar?
If everyone thinks you are Nerevar, and you do what only Nerevar does, who exactly is stopping you from being Nerevar?
It is all based in faith. Sure the Nerevarine can claim that they have carved their own destiny and that they are not Nerevar reborn, but they can't deny that they have done what only Nerevar was supposed to do. Yet its not like you can go and look at your soul and say 'oh yah that's nerevar alright.' Is there any real way of proving you aren't Nerevar? Is there any real way of proving you are? Were you truly the destined hero, or were you just filling a vacant role another could have taken? That's the whole point, and an important theme of Morrowind. Here's a quote from Hasphat Antabolis
>Caius and I always argue over the role of the individual in history. Is the individual shaped and controlled by history? Or can an exceptional individual shape history? Are individuals carried in the stream? Or do they dam and divert the flow? I say Tiber Septim changed the world. Caius says that Tiber Septim was a product of his time, and if he hadn't lived, some other person would have served his function. What about you? Are you going to change the world? Or just be carried by the flow?
The choice is supposed to be up to you.
>>

>I mean, imagine if Jesus was just some guy who happened to find a magic rock that gave him powers.

>>
>>47612712
>I think the Tribunal was a better alternative to a Daedra ruled society
I would have to agree, doesn't stop the fact that they had deceived those that loved them for thousands of years.
>Gustav Vasa
Sounds similar to Henry VIII
Anyways, I don't really think this is very relatable figure to the Tribunal. I have the tendency to doubt the people of Sweden practiced a very personal and devout worship of this king, neither that he lived and ruled for thousands of years or claimed to be a god.
I'm sure that if on the otherhand, Gustav was still alive today, and you just discovered after having zealously worshiped him as a true living god all your life, that he was a fraud, you would feel a bit different about him.

Will /tgesg/ read my TES story?

In summary, it's the journals of the Imperial captain of a merchant ship crewed by Khajiit who who sets out on a trade mission to Anvil and runs into some unexpected company along the way. It deals with race relations between Khajiit and Men, as well as some magic shit. Takes place in 2E, and takes influence from Master and Commander and other Napoleonic Era adventure novels of its kind.

It's more that Gustav Vasa is rememberd as a cool guy that freed us of the tyranical rule of Denmark, he was a great a great skier (while running like a coward from Denmark) and attributed to being some kind of founder of our national identity during the romantic era. So for a long time he was regarded as one of the most iconic kings of the country. Today people in the country just don't really get offended by the truth or even care about him.

I'm just kinda rationalising that Dunmer of the third era not being part of the Temple might not exactly have been longing to go back to daedric worship because they didn't miss it in the first place.

Kinda like how a lot of modern Christians don't feel connected to the rules of the Old Testament.

That's not really what I'm getting at though. I'm not saying the Dunmer would be mad that they were duped out of worshiping the Daedra (though I'm sure a good number might be seeing as they seemed to immediately default to worshiping the Reclamations after the Tribunal's fall), but rather they would feel quite betrayed that the individuals they and their ancestors had once devoutly defended as living gods were really just liars who deceived the people so that they might be assured their obedience and love.
