It's literally over for me, isn't it?
Don't worry, you can still get a degree in political sciences (and even minor in mathematical philosophy)

the mere fact that you given up and reverted to make a thread in here shows that you have no hope.
>>8865829
>cannot do Algebra I
Literally not possible. You can have some trouble with it if you're a brainlet but even brainlets can get through it eventually.
>last final today 8 am
>previous night fell asleep without phone plugged in
>it dies during the night
>wake up without alarm PANIC
>look at clock, 6:30 am, exactly the time I would have set my alarm
>fast forward, taking final
>have a tough time with the last question
>bullshit my way through it, sketchy process that eventually nets me an answer that at least isn't completely nonsensical
>99% sure it's completely wrong
>disappointed all day
>meet friend, discuss final
>we got the same answer for the last question, just used different methods
>we're both surprised I got the same answer with the method I used

In t-minus 6 hours the Formula 1 of chemistry, the Nanocar Race, will begin. You can watch the stream here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKiyj1TpSeU
expect SUPER-CRASHES as HUNDREDS of nanocars collide when being deposited into the microscope, long sequences of ULTRA PRECISION ACTION with one of the world's greatest microscopes, OUT OF CONTROL racing as drivers BILLIONS of times larger than their cars struggle to both see and drive their cars.

Is the Higgs boson real? There are not many news since they 'found' it.
>>8863297
What kind of news are you expecting?
>>8863326
A final determination of the spin of the particle would one thing that normally would have been reported.
>>8863297
I think it is likely that there has been no news because the real news is that they did not discover Higgs' scalar boson, but actually discovered the vector boson predicted by Tooker (me.) Look at pic related which is the current entry in the Particle Data Group publication. (PDG is the source of record record for all things particle physics, not webinars broadcast from CERN.) You can look at the other particle data entries for the other fundamental particles (http://pdg.lbl.gov/#) and you won't see any of this roundabout language about what the particle is labeled or called.
Five years later, PDG still won't touch CERN's claim that they found the Higgs boson. The particle almost certainly has spin-1, in agreement with my prediction (http://vixra.org/abs/1302.0037) and if so it proves that I am in fact the world's greatest living physicist, but the crotchety old cowardly cunts who pretend to that title don't want to admit that someone so unlike them is so vastly superior to them in intellectual affairs.

Who's this?
What Does /sci/ think of /ourboy/ Jordan Peterson?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjs2gPa5sD0
He's a very interesting character. Half of the time, he makes a lot of sense, while the other half of the time, he's engaged in creating narratives and unnecessary circumlocution. In most cases, though, he's very well articulated.
He gives extremely good and sobering life advice, and, despite what it seems like on the surface, he definitely seems to understand the horror and nuance that comes with trying to navigate life itself. Although I'm not an expert in psychology, he seems to be very adept in his expertise.
Now, I used to think this person was brilliant, and I still do in some ways, but over time you can see some red flags that really do make you question whether or not he falls into the same class of idealogues that he so condemns.
He appears on Steven Crowder and Rebel Media, which is fine if they're the only ones willing to give him a voice, but then he characterizes his opponents along the lines as postmodern neo-Marxists and then blames them for not having enough nuance. How exactly is this different from Dennis Prager saying he wants to combat evil and combat the leftists that took over universities? Peterson chastises atheists for shooting down easy low hanging fruit, but I've never seen him condemn intellectual laziness in religion. He'd never call out Steven Crowder for being a idiot, and it seems like he's trying to brush that aside.
He is purported to have a unique view and he says he has complicated views on religion. I believe that, but exactly how is he different from the rest of crazy old christians? He used to literally identify as a conservative christian, and now he jumped the gun on the "classical liberal" meme. And if you still think some gears of his aren't broken, let's not forget this tweet: twitter com/jordanbpeterson/status/405200126236311554.
He tries to reconcile evolution with religion, and as a result he makes up narratives. When someone asks him about God, he mystifies the word out of existence to hold on to his narratives. I'm almost tempted to ask, just how traumatized by existential horror is he? If I had to be brutal, ultimately he is not honest with himself. He can't afford to just simply identify by some weird label like "christian atheist", for some reason, so he has to build sophistry as fortification for this worldview when it can stand perfectly clear perfectly clear without the obfuscation of putting yourself in a category so close to creationists. THIS is what Sam Harris was trying to get at in one of the podcasts, but he was trying to be too respectful at the same time.
All in all, the things he says are still very interesting and elucidating, but as always, you shouldn't follow anyone blindly.

I've come up with a bio-demographic IQ test. All you have to do is make the following calculations, and it should give you a rough estimate of your IQ.
Start by assuming your IQ is -1.251, and then add or subtract based on the following 25 instructions. Be honest or your estimate will not be accurate.
Education
1. If you graduated from elementary school, add 6.212 points
2. If you graduated from high school, add another 6.212 points
3. If you have a university degree, add another 6.212 points.
4. If you have a graduate degree or attended an elite college or high school, add another 6.212 points.
5. If you both attended an elite college AND have a graduate degree, add yet another 6.212 points.
Head Size
6. Multiply your cranial circumference (in inches) by 2.768 and add the resulting number of points.
Height
7. Multiply your height (in inches) by 0.418 and add the resulting number of points
Weight
8. Multiply your weight (in pounds) by 0.0927 and subtract the resulting number of points
Race
9. If you’re less than half-black, add 2.666 points
10. If you’re less than a quarter black and less than a quarter Native American, add another 2.666 points
11. If you’re more than 75% Northeast Asian, or more than 50% Ashkenazi Jewish, add another 2.666 points
12. If you’re more than 75% Ashkenazi Jewish, add yet another 2.666 points
Media preferences
13. Which of the following do you most prefer for entertainment: a) fun TV shows like sitcoms, reality TV, game shows, sports, and popular talk shows, b) intellectual TV shows about science, history or politics, c) fun books like romance novel or thrillers, or d) intellectual books like literary novels or academic texts. If you chose “a” add 0 points, if you chose “b” add 3.451 points, if you chose “c”, add 6.902 points, and if you chose “d”, add 10.353 points.
Sex
14. If you’re male, subtract 5.1 points
Income
15. Multiply the number of figures in your yearly pre-tax income by 1.869 and add the resulting number of points. If you’re retired, use your peak earnings, adjusted for inflation. If much of your earnings go into your business or if you’re too rich to have a conventional income, simply divide your individual net worth by ten to approximate your income.
Religiosity
16. If you believe in God, subtract 3.901 points.
17. If you’re a creationist who does not believe in evolution, subtract another 3.901 points.
Political conservatism
18. Which of these U.S. political parties would you most like to see in power: The Green party, the Democrats, or the Republicans? If you picked the Green party, subtract 0 points, if you picked the Democrats, subtract 3.405 points, and if you picked the Republicans, subtract 6.81 points.
Alcoholism
19. If you’re an alcoholic, subtract 2.282 points
Smoking
20. If you’re a smoker, subtract 2.282 points
Age
21. Multiply the number of years you’ve been alive by 0.194 and add the resulting points
Birth Order
22. Multiply your birth order by 0.885 and subtract the resulting points. So if you’re your biological mother’s third born, multiply 3 by 0.885 and thus subtract 2.655 points.
And your IQ is…
23. Subtract 100 from all your points
24. Divide by 0.8
25. Add 100
So far I've gotten good feedback on this test, but I want to see how it works on /sci/, since you all are pretty bright.

Is he the smartest man of all time?
Did he cause the Tunguska incident with his teleforce gun?
Could electromagnetic induction really power the entire world?
>>8867234
1) Define "smartest". Its like saying my cat its the most catlike cat of all time. You have to define what metric you are using for smarts.
2)"teleforce gun" really? You are just making up words now? The claim was never that tunguska was made by any gun. The claim was that he modified wardencliff tower to deliver a concentrated arc of electricity, which (spoiler alert) didnt fucking happen. That much power being drawn by wardencliff, even at 100% efficiency would have melted the power lines supplying the entire city, let alone teslas lab. Tunguska was likley a weapons test by the russians or a meteor that burned up before impact.
3) Sure i guess its possible if you have a large enough tesla coil, the problem with it is that its retardedly inefficient when compared to copper wires.
And i know you tesla conspiracy theorists are just waiting to throw "he tapped into the unused power of the ionosphere for unlimited powah!" No. No he didnt. You could benefit from watching this video.

Why do we regard these fossils as the inferior ancestors of man, despite their cranial capacity being well within the human range, and showing no more variation in appearance than the present-day Aboriginals?
Because they're not extinct yet. That's the only reason I can think of.
>>8868037
Humanity will go at lengths to justify it's existence and to come up with reasons to explain why we succeeded while others with similar brain sizes and characteristics didn't.
Neanderthals for one; they actually had a larger brain capacity than us, meaning they very well could have been more intelligent. But that can't stand in modern acadamia, so they insist that Neaderthals were missing important abilities to feel compassion and create/recognize languages. All this humanity does to ignore the most obvious fact: we were/are the aggressor species; no different relaitvely, than the chimp groups that kill other chimp groups for territory/resources. Our species saw weakness in the other species for not being brutal and aggressive, for not using their tools for war.
