We managed to avoid civil war between the supporters of the Pantheon and the demons and their sympathisers. With peace secured, we continued to grow and expand.
From the west a party of halfling adventurers arrived, seeking aid in their quest to defeat the tyrannical Earth Dragon,Suhkamuk. Most of our factions sent support, either their leader, some warriors or supplies.
40 adventurers from four different races raided the Dragon's Lair in Big Hill. During the epic battle that ensued, almost all of them died, including King Wolfe of Godric, first King of Roggar.
Just as all hope seemed lost, the magic of an old halfling shaman and the strength and determination of a lowborn human saved the day. Unleashing his Dragon Punch, the human blew apart the demi-god Earth Dragon with a single strike.
From this carnage, a great hero was born - Mutt Dragonfist returned to Dragonstomb to lay the fallen to rest. At the coming contest, he won overwhelming majority and was chosen to bear the Dragonbone Crown and be King of Roggar.

So, Mutt wanted to call himself emperor right? What does that mean?

>>366706
I'd like to organize a great sea trade route. A yearly, or perhaps bi-yearly deal where our ships all venture in a great fleet to Semport, then to Ostogyol, visiting ports along the way to trade, and then perhaps even further into the Pantheon's Home Kingdom. Seeing my priests can handle the fishery blessings and water purification at home, I could accompany the fleet personally to hasten the journey and make it safe.

Half of it actually. For a few seconds he had the power to shatter a dragon's body, but after it was all over he retained half of that power within his right fist permamently. Absorbing the magic from the draogn's organs and blood has given him a lifetime supply of magic for that fist.

>>366772
Well then the goblin pop should be on a decline or the growth very low if your gobs are literally fodder.
>>
>>366781
Goblins are like rats, they breed like crazy. Being in the mines is probably the only reason they haven't outbreed the humans yet.
>>
>>366781
Goblins breed a lot faster than humans naturally do. Higher mortality rates sort of balances it out, somewhat. We've got goblins that are descended from 2 different tribes, while all of our humans at the moment are descended from the same tribe.

>>366775
They are, if you want you can continue to act as Ondala and attempt to become a leader among halflings or such.

C & E
Combining the two, we can make a great advancement in some area.
Which New God should we ask for guidance?

>Abagar the Wise
>Charodei, Lord of the Arcane
>Batahl the Trickster
>Drana the Healer
>Mor, Lord of Death
>Kovag, the Smith
>Stoman, the Warrior
>Zemel, the Farmer
>Ezdar, the Tamer of Beasts
>Divata, Lady of the Wilds
>Juras, Lord of Justice
>Gyolas, Lord of the Seas
>Domna, Lady of Hearth & Home

Pick one, since we haven't won enough favor from them yet for more.
>>
>>366786
>Kovag, the Smith
>>
>>366786
>Mor, Lord of Death
>>
>>366781
Only in the mines, however, and not all miner gobs become fodder! Some learn from their deathly experiences and get more experienced in their mining. Its a perfect business model that ensures efficiency for the loss of a few weak miners every day or so. And you must remember goblins breed extremely fast!
>>
>>366786
>Charodei, Lord of the Arcane
We need to know about Mutt's condition, this an unique event we must know what happened to him, did he become a dragonslayer or a demi-god slayer?
Was dragon fist the only ability he gained?
Can we reproduce such an event and get the same result?
>>
>>366786
Abagar the Wise - He must know shit, right?
>>
>>366786
I think I'll do that.
Now does Ondala have control over a town already? If not I'd like to call for early/general elections and enter my name for the leader of a town, potentially the first one we visited yesterday.
>>
>>366795
Sorry, we use goblins to play Gobball, so add that to losses.
>>
>>366798
Apparently the dragons blood is like a magic source that continually fuels his dragon fist until the end of days. We have another confirmed source of magic
>>
>>366798
How many god-dragons do you have on hand?
>>
>>366786
>>Mor, Lord of Death
>>
>>366786
>>Kovag, the Smith
>>
>>366808
No, that's the very first confirmed source of magic we have. We've known that since before Wave could use magic.
>>
>>366807
On average everyday 20 goblins lose their lives either to the mines, or viscous blunt force trauma from gobball. But then another 30 are born just after them. The wonders of life
>>
>>366790
This. The chief wants to live a long life.
>>
>>366720
Blood clan now Lederer is ragna
Blood clan is a group of expert demon warriors
>>
>>366786
>Kovag, the Smith
>>
>>366809
Don't worry we can likely breed those if we get to modern era and dragon blood isn't hard to come by it seems.
Also it might be triggered only by demi-god blood which might be easier to come by if gods like Gyolas decide to fuck a fish that is no Wave.
I mean magic as a whole is interesting and should get some of our attention.
Since to kill a dragon we either need magic or very technologically advance gear like steel weapons and maybe huge ballistas which we don't have.
Also Mutt lving long by making a deal with the god of death isn't gonna happen, the god of death is very likely to draw a very clear line between life and death and claim his due.
But we might get something to learn about regarding the afterlife and maybe the very nature of death in this world.

So what are we going to do with these Halflings? I suggest that we incorporate them into our growing kingdom. And when it comes to King Mutt crowning himself Emperor I do not believe we have adequate land or titles to support this claim at the present time. Perhaps in a few generations we may achieve this.

We've invited priests of Kovag to teach us the ways of their God.
Kovag demands diligence, patience and honesty from his followers. His teachings primarily pertain to metalworking of all sorts - he forges both Stoman's sword and Zemel's plough.

The priests of Kovag have taught us how to forge iron! A metal that is more common than tin and holds great potential, it has become common through the Kingdom of Paitras, center of the Pantheon Faith.
As a sign of good will, the priests prayed to Kovag for guidance - they have located suitable and accessible iron deposits in the hills south of Lakefound.
We now have the knowledge to make iron! We've had a lot of experience with bronze, so our best bronze will be stronger than the first iron tools we make, but the priests say that iron holds great potential.
The priests of the Pantheon promise us great knowledge and blessigns in return for honest faith.

D&E
Our natural scientists have developed our first optics - quartz lenses. We've started making tools of iron, which is most useful as mining equipment.
In the military, we've developed our second kind of siege engine after the simple battering ram - the catapult! Able to hurl stones at a good distance, this is a machine of war that uses cutting-edge science to make walls penetrable.
Year 102
The last few years were good for the crops and our population was rapidly growing, but now crop yields have lowered while food consumption has increased.

Make the isle forge also forges across the land to smelt iron
Something to think about to help the whole civ make the forge
>lava temperature vary in between 700C° and 1200C°
>Iron melt at 1510C° , steel mostly around 1370C°
Now let's take a metal we know we can probably melt and see it's melting point.
>melting point of cooper is roughly 1083°C and bronze somewhere between 850°C and 1000°C
Now i think it's safe to assume that using lava and some more coal and strong fire, we can surely melt down Iron.
But steel is another deal because it require use of molten carbon for high grade steel and carbon melt around at 3600°C or 6512°F which is insanely high.
But the surprise is that people had the technology to produce steel since early as 1800 BC which is pretty fucking old, Noric steel was used in the Roman military.
The worst thing is that we can make higher quality grade than this because we have a volcano and we have a sea nearby , meaning we can endlessly make Quench-hardened Steel using only Iron by mixing it with non pure Iron with carbon inside it.
Their forges only reached 1802°C, we can already melt cooper at about 1100°C meaning we only need about 700°C to reach this temperature.
And a volcano often produce well above 700°C with lava.
So Tl;DR
The Godric DragonForge will not only be able to forge Iron, It will also be able to produce Steel without even needing a retrofit.

B&C
We've built a great forge on Godric Isle with the help of the priests of Kovag. Lava and seawater are used to fuel the smitheries that can now forge tools and weapons of iron as well.
We've completed the mountainside fort Sancre Tor. Stone quarries nearby were used, a small village lies outside the fort, producing the food needed to feed its permament minimal garrison of 30 hoplites.

Our scouts have spotted a horde approaching. At its head is a large, bluish dragon. They number in the many thousands and come in various shapes and sizes, some may even be different sub-races of ogres. Blue, green, brown, beige, short, fat, tall - and it's not just adult men, there's also women and children. These aren't raiders, it's a proper invasion.

The forces we have available at the moment, gathered at Threemine, are 400 demons(good in melee and magic), 1000 goblins(good scouts, ambushers and archers) and 4500 humans, mostly phalanx spearmen, archers and some war chariots and catapults.

A Kulargi army of 3000 men is on the way, but it will be days before they arrive.
The halflings are trying to assemble forces for their own defences.
Paitras has promised to send reinforcements as soon as possible.

Prepare trenches with spikes and Traps..
We need uneven ground and then even ground
So we should light huge fires and lay trenches and spikes right before a flat plain where we position our phalanx. Chariots can come from the side

>>367430
Why do you want to attack head on? The dragon while fighting can just shoot some fire from the sky, killing our army. It's best to stay at the walls.
If you want to kill the dragon a night attack, we can stop their supplies which in turn kill some of them before the battle.
>>
>>367401
>A.Get behind our walls and await the enemy
Catapults are to be fully used here!
>>
>>367441
To destroy the enemies morale. Who would fight an army that can kill a dragon ?
>>
>>367449
M8, we got catapults we can be behind a strong stone wall while rain down arrows, and large stone. The dragon will have a harder time to attack us when we have walls. Do a night attack while awaiting at the walls, to kill some of the orges and maybe the dragon.

In direct battle it's death. Me and the demons build the walls to be used, if everyone is dead in combat then the walls will be useless.

The two forces shall meet in the open plains west of the town!

Our formation holds. Hour after hour, the battle rages on with casualties on both sides.
When the sun goes down, the battle ends for the day as both armies carefully withdraw.
On the morning, our commanders have news. The ogre horde is moving once again. We continue pursuing them, expecting them to follow the road north towards Firsthold, but we're surprised to learn from our scouts that the ogres are headed east, towards the river split and the villages of Vahkrin and Muttvile...
Battle end statistics
3800 humans+ 325 demons + 500 goblins vs 3700 ogres and one storm dragon

Bulgar if we somehow win this battle we should make a monument on the place if the last battle. Maybe something like this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_Tower

The lack of conversion rolls is from the ban on demon conversions set by the pantheon.

>>
>>367889

>>367889
Lads, let's take this opportunity to get a plan together.

Night stalkers have been getting INCREDIBLY shit rolls for a while now, and I think we should work on secular dark magic, or at least help build temples to the pantheon god of death. But given recent demon casualties and utter lack of population growth, I feel the need to get golems first so that we can recruit from halflings/ogres/occasional Night Stalker without worrying about having enough food. With three of us working on it, even something that complex will probably take 2 turns max.

After that, we can really ramp up dark magic research thanks to the academy and having scientists and craftsmen who are much older than any human couls be at this point. We're going to propel Nayte into the future of secular magic and natural science, together. Comments, complaints?
>>
>>367914
Ban all magik.
>>
>>367889
>>367896
I'm guessing you can do converting as a Faction Project and roll a dice to see how many you convert. >>367876 that plan would take a loong time, and the more humans you convert the more mouths you need to feed while losing farm workers. Untill you make functional golems to work on the fields you cant really just covert the humans left and right. Also i know that demkns never foced a convertion but you were metion the Stokholm syndrome, which would mean you kidnapping people and just holding them there until they convert

Theres a reason we do it in Nayte away from the people. Of which everyone gets butthurt at it for some reason.
>>
>>367940
I thought converting was something you guys had to do as a faction project? I dont rember bulgar ever saying that he will expand the numbwr of demons gradually.
>>
>>367937
If a ancient evil comes that wants to kill all humans including you. Then don't be surprise people are going to hate you.
>>367940
This plan will go terrible some thread or the next, you been warned.
>>
>>367948
It was a roll he'd do automatically at one point, but it didn't get very far before an agreement to stop was made. Once we establish some relations with the ogres/halflings, we'll have some very minor but constanr conversion rolls, without affecting human growth rate. Think maybe 50-100 a turn.
>>
>>367959
Think a little lower than that. Maybe 1-50 a turn.
>>
>>367948
Everyone going DUES VULT got triggered because Bulgar rolled for some people to convert a little after the demon factions were created. Like we said, we convert those who come to us like the demon league which was originally human and bulgars roll.
>>
>>367951
This anon is right, our tribe has sworn to worship the Pantheon as true Gods, anything else is........ heresy
>>
>>367951
I wouldn't be. Thing is, fucking NOTHING has come of it yet, good or bad. You're all afraid of NOTHING thus far. Dark and fire are the two fucking element that haven't dicked us over so far, what with the succession of dragons. We almost went to war over the POSSIBILITY of demons convertinf a handful of humans per turn, and us MAYBE figuring out how magic not direcrly associated with gods works, which has so far really fucking helped our military, and is now used by humans as well. I get bring cautious, and we're not going full retard here. I just wish you guys wouldn't forget all the good we've done every single time we want to push some boundaries. Hell, I remember when you all hated the fish because she was different, and we supported her. Now that you've got a new whipping boy, you're all buddy buddy.
>>
>>367975
Wasn't the original demon host 500 demons and then the Daemon League got created and added 70 people to the demons? I think that when everyone DEUS VULT. And after the peace something around 50 people converted boosting the demon population to 620. Can you link me to where bulgar rolled for the demons to convert humans?
>>
>>367987
That 50 was the roll. On mobile and can't find the link atm, but bulgar can confirm whenever he checks this.
>>
>>367986
What? Wave whas accepted into the village by the majority. We made her temples long before demons even showed up. You remeber how Wave forbid anyone to associte with the Demons or lose all the protection Wave offered. We humans have allways supported Wave, we built her temples in every coastal town and gave her many sacrifaces and worshiped her alot
>>
>>367986
Something will come from it. Just wait until it happens. You can focus on other magic other than dark. Dark magic will cause something like the dragon that is attacking us this turn.
>>
>>367987
Ask Bulgar when he comes back, he'll confirm as I dont think the other threads have been archived yet.
>>
>>368011
Please, I remember the very first vote to even let her stay only just got a majority, and there were purgefags even then. It got better because she sided against the newer, spookier magic race. I get that being creatures made for the express purpose of war is something to consider, but at this point it should be clear that we're working towards the same goals here. We just can't do that as a minority permanently capped while everyone else grows massively and the scale of Roggar's goals grow.
>>368016
We're going to pursue what magic we please within our own land, as we have every right to do. Don't like it, don't come to Nayte. We're taking every precaution with our research, and we're going to be VERY sure that we control whatever powers we discover. You should be worried about ogres and the seemingly endless hordes of dragons if you need a boogeyman so badly.
>>
>>368046
You're the bogeyman, you demons want to kill all humans. Your just waiting for the right moment to strike.
>>
>>368066
You are crazy why would we do that.
>>
>>368066
Yo man,don't be racist
>>
>>368046
>We're taking every precaution with our research, and we're going to be VERY sure that we control whatever powers we discover.
Oh please, just look at night stalker's roolls, sooner or later something scary's gonna pop out
Also, purges aren't that rare as you think, people back then are superstitious as fuck and would kill an outsider easily
>>
>>368066
I think your fear of what you don't understand speaks more to your character than I ever could. You're a scared little man upset that we can do things you can't, and that you can't control us like pawns. We harbor no ill-will toward you, and we only want to help the civilization as a whole. You forget that we were born and raised in Dragon's Tomb. We're just like you on the inside. Not even your endless cowardice and prejudice can change our patriotism and love for our countrymen.

We're going to help everyone, and you can decide whether you want to help Roggar or hurt it, brother.
>>
>>368046
Well, there is alwlays those edgy purgefags who wil go and try to purge and kill everything. There we purge fags when we first met demons, when we took over the goblin mines. And i think you can forgive a simple farm working man who probably never left his village when he sees a 7' 11" horned Demon with fiery red eyes, who practices dark and fire magic while worshiping some dark gods in their secluded dark part of the kingdomNow that i think abou it you demons are pretty edgy :^)
>>
>>368083
Because demons are evil. They want to take over and make humans lose their souls. Do that to the other races not to any humans.
>>368091
Not racist if it's true.
>>368099
If you even raise a great evil then it's up to you to defeat it.
>>
>>368106
(Please, we're the edgelords to end all edgelords.)
>>
>>368099
You bit that Anons bait. Just ignore him otherwise you'll be here forever correcting him.
>>368106
We are pretty edgy. I like to think people are somewhat used to us since we do jobs around the kingdom and generally help alot.
>>
>>368117
Nice to know some demons know bait when they see it :3
But the real deal is just I don't want human demons. You're free to convert other races within limit. Also if you do cause a evil to come out I don't want lots of humans drying because of demons actions.

Also I naturally hate demons since think that only edgelords play that. If you think about it demons are really edgelord so you can't blame me on that.
>>
>>367928
a reasonable argument
>>
>>368109
>>368117
Im also proposing that after the battle if we win, we build a monument to the battle. Like this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_Tower just out of ogre skulls. Maybe put it nex to ogre pass to make sure that we spook all the potential ogre invaders or on the field of battle.Proposing this because it is edgy and you guys are edgelords
>>
>>368147
My bait detector is fucked after the leadup to near civil war. But yeah, no problem with not converting humans. And yeah we're edgelords, and mary sues on top of it. Taller, stronger, faster and better with crafts than any human, and functionally immortal to boot, all at the cost of souls and veggies. I saw the opportunity for edge and fucking jumped at it. I don't think it's such a crime as long as we're self aware about it and don't make a show of it.

Yeah, we're not gonna fuck up that colossally with all three of us making rolls on shit. That's actually a big reason I decided to put that forward, as Night Stalkers have had such shit luck as to possibly kill us all alone.

Well it's good we reached a understanding. I did the bait mostly to see how the demons react. You kept your cool, and didn't go kill all for the humans back.
That give me some peace for the future of humans of this civ. I don't want them to be killed off or become slaves.

If they're going towards the river, can I challenge the Dragon to single combat?

My work hours are picking up, so I'll probably be on even less soon, and I can't imagine a better way to go out that rolling dice against a dragon.
>>
>>368410
It'll be quite funny if another hero gets nuked by a dragon. It'll also throw the parts of the kingdom into anarchy losing two different leaders. But I say go for it if bulgar allows it, it would sure to be interesting to see.
>>
Eh, I'm not really vital to the country at this point.

No one wanted water magic. After all this time not a single faction wanted to train water mages.
>>
>>368444
when did you mention you could do that

>>368444
Well that was because you were gone. And once a faction isn't there everyone kinds of focus their own thing.

>>
>>368444
I actually wanted to see if you could teach any secular water magic, or teach a few demons how to use it similarly to how you do, but the demon free zones clamped down on that pretty fast. Be more than willing to send some people to learn if you'd be willing to teach from the river, though.
>>
>>368491
Except you really don't. Gyolgas completely covers every base I do.
>>
>>368503
Fuck Gyolgas you are 10 times better so please don't fighting the Dragon.
>>
>>368502
I already stated I was willing after the war to work together with and teach magic to demons.

But again, you guys can just do what you did to discover iron and say "Gyolgas + Secular Research" and get better than Wave can give you.

And in this thread, you guys very nearly voted to learn Fish magic... From Gyolgas. Which is the thing I thought I had that he didn't. But he does.

Not to try to play the victim, but Wave isn't needed, and she might do some damage against the dragon, or at least distract it so you can fight the ogres without his backup.

>>
>>368527
Listen Wave, words cant really describe how much we all love and adore you. You have been with us since the begining, when the old gods abandoned us you were there. Even if you lost all of your powers we would stil love and worship you. Also you are respected and worshiped by almost evreryone in the kingdom. Your power is much much bigger than when you first started and you are not even remotely usless. You are our waifu goddes :3
>>
>>368536
hes like a step above demons. If I remember correctly.
>>368527
while I do think secular magic is something I am going to focus on and try and attain.
I think It would also be in your best interest to work on increasing your own magic.
You actually get support when you ask for it so easily some people will help you train/research magic. I'll be focusing on dark magic, since the demons could help me out, and its what we were doing before.
>>
>>368536
>>368557

Aye, there's the rub. I'm a Demigoddess. Sure, I'm decently strong because you've dumped a lot of power into me. But the same effort directed at Gyolgas gets an extra 25% return. I'm strictly a worse option.

>You are our waifu goddes :3
This being it. Wave's only still worshipped because she was here first and she has a catchier name the Gyolgas.
>Fishtits
And that.

If you guys wanna have another go, alright, but if you start losing, I'm stepping in. Pacifist or no, not gonna watch my people get lightning zapped.
>>
>>368527
Actually, you're our only real option given that demons tend to avoid worship. I'd really rather you continue to do the stuff that you have been, like purifying water and increasing fishing yields and all, because aside from being someone we can actually talk to, and not this vague, distant god who only gets an extra 2 points of magic over you, you're a big part of the local culture. Dragon's Tomb wouldn't be what it is without you, and being along the coast as we are, I think you'll be seeing some action pretty soon, since we're going to be able to up our seafaring pretty soon thanks to iron. I'd much rather have you than some random eastern fuccboi ghost. You're still integral to the civ, most of the qction has just been taking place away from the coast lately. And besides, that's what Not! Waveinahumansuit is for.

And on top of everything else this fucker is a storm dragon and would electrocute your moist ass, so you'd really just be committing overly-complicated suicide.
>>
>>368576
She seems to just be a magical creature, shes like this because the people worship her. Which case it can be recreated by worshipping a dragon, demon, etc.
>>368584
I for one want to see you fight the dragon simply because of the what would happen afterwards.
>>
>>368588
As far as suicide goes, you do remember that my current assets include "stockpiling power for 60 years".

Also, one of my powers is water purification. Guess what kind of water doesn't conduct electricity?
>>
>>368584
Well You should be able to join the fight since they seem to getting close to the river.
Most of the magical potions ion the kingdom are exported from my clan.
I wouldn't see a problem stocking you up well. To juice you up for the fight.
>>
>>368584
If you really want to help us its fine, but atleast let us sacrife something to boost your pover up (maybe we could roll a 1d7 to help you when you roll).
>>
>>368604
I get what you're saying, and you're definitely the closest thing we have to a dragon lf our own, given that I think you're the same class of being, that doesn't mean it's a good idea to have you put yourself at risk instead of us fight it with replaceable redshirts. That power could be used for all kinds of other things, like maybe getting yourself a human form so you can get around easier, or expanding on your powers. You might not get fried, but everything still ultimately rests on the dice, and you're too great an asset for any of us to want you to just take the thing head on like fucking Saitama did. You've got a lot to live for, is what I'm saying.
>>
>>368611
That might give me a decent chance. I mean, I think I'd be able to give a decently even account of myself from the 60 year energy stockpile till that ran out, but with sacrifice, even better.
>>
>>368613
I really don't want to keep contributing to the H spam, so I'm not willing to do the "spend a project on myself ever other turn" to stay magically relevant.
>>
>>368629
Don't gotta. Look at godric island forge and sancre tor in this thread.
>>
>>368636
To bad the fort get destroyed a few days later but the ruins will be easier to fix then building it again.
>>
>>368629
Also wave in the fight you don't need to go one on one. The best you can do and be safe is just tsunami the army of orges and get out of their. So you kill a few orges allowing the humans, demons, and goblins take care of the dragon.
>>
So civ-wise, what are we looking to do? H actions are fun and add a lot of player agency to the game, and have been good for pointing us in various directions, but I feel like we've strayed a little far from having civ-wide goals.

I'd like to make contact with Paitras and see it for ourselves. Any other ideas?
>>
>>368767
Some ideas are to get improve our navy and build a heavily fortify navy base, maybe the island is a good since we get invaded by norseman or useful to go exploring.
Their also making halfings vassals, learning more about the gods, demon civil rights (No need for that :3), giving potions for the king and his top men to use. Also talking about putting our two tribes with our neighbors.
>>
>>368767
>>368824

>I'd like to organize a great sea trade route. A yearly, or perhaps bi-yearly deal where our ships all venture in a great fleet to Semport, then to Ostogyol, visiting ports along the way to trade, and then perhaps even further into the Pantheon's Home Kingdom. Seeing my priests can handle the fishery blessings and water purification at home, I could accompany the fleet personally to hasten the journey and make it safe.

That was my long term goal.
>>
>>368767
Well H can allways be reworked and balanced. It's trial and error. Maybe make the colldown on H can last 2 turns instead of 1? I think it add a bit of realism, having diffrent factions work together or against each other. The H can get a bit spamy bacause everytime an improvement is made in some field the factions react to it and get new ideas about the things they can do with this new improvement. I only think it's a balance issue that can be solved.
>>
>>368767
As for the ideas civ-wise, i think we should build up our military since we seem to get invaded by dragons every decade, so going into G to get better iron tools and weapons and into D to train our military( we have been doing a fuckton of C,G and A). Maybe get some culture improvements, build some bridges on the river, improve the defences on ogre pass(maybe all the factions can work together and make something like the Great Wall of China) , there is lots of atuff we can do.
>>
>>368824
>>368833
>>368873
This all looks pretty doable in conjunction. I especially like improving the navy to explore and trade, as well as secure the southern reaches against fucking dragons and shit. I say we get a rudimentary couple outposts set up along the south once this is over and Sancre Tor is operational again, and then we work on juicing up our watercraft. Getting an actual navy together would be a good start.
>>
>>368951
It's look like past the mountains south their is a no go zone of orges and dragons. Until we get better tech the outposts will work.
The sea base with other sea ports with some trading ports will work to get trading with the other nations. As well as a bigger navy to use.
>>
I made a list that can better our civ. This list are just options we can do we don't have to do them. I'll be taken some ideas already here and placing them on the list.
>A. Navy Base On Godric Isle :^), Dragon's Tomb to up our navy to protect from any future sea faring enemies.
>B. Exploring the Kingdom of Paitras & Trade resources, tech, etc...
>C. Set up series of outposts on our southern border where the Orges are out to serve as a early warning & defense aganist orges raids.
>D. Trading Ports on Dragon's Tomb, Bullcoast, Inkport :^), Shekelburg to improve our trading in fishing, gems, stoneworking, etc...
>E. Grand Trading Port at Godric Isle :^) since that can serve as a grand trading center of the civ :^)
>F. Dipo the Halflings to joining us as vassals.
>G. Supporting me as King since I have great marriages with the Kulargi and I want us to bring our both Kingdoms together so we increase our supplies and be stronger against any outside threat. :^)
>H. Exploring just to find stuff friends or foes (Let the dice tell)
>I. Rebuild Sance Tor + A wall to control the pass (GoT)

War Things we can do
>A. Sacrifice Mutt herds to give Wave enough power to make a tsunami to kill some Orges
>B. Burn the bridge across the river so the army can't cross. So they have to choose to head North or keep go to Mutt Village.
>C. Get the people out of the towns the orges are headed too

VERY IMPORTANT PLAN THAT CAN SAVE LIVES
>D. Sacrifice Muff herds to Wave. Wave uses her Tsunami power and hits the bridge as they cross!!!
This will stop them from crossing as well as spilt the enemies since wave is doing this when they're halfway through.
This will kill the orges on the bridge and disorganized the rest allowing us to attack a split force while the rest are on the other side of the large river.
Tl:dr Wave use power on Bridge kill them then attack.
VERY IMPORTANT PLAN

Since their need to be a strategy in this war. I made one since, I'm pretty good at this type of stuff
I made a map to help clear things up.
>The ogres are headed east, towards the river split and the villages of Vahkrin and Muttvile

>1.Have the people from Vahkin and Muttvile Saracifice their herds to Wave (Will be useful later in plan)

>2. After the sacrifices the people from Vahkin and Muttvile fall back to Gobopolis. (To limit the amount dead from this. Useful)

>3. We know they are heading east to the villages to pass they will choose to cross the bridge. This is when we strike we have two options, here.

>A.Split the enemy force in half when half of the ogres are done crossing.
Pros
>1.More amount of Ogres can be killed.
>2.The force is split so we fight a small force allowing us to more easier win the battle. As we will have the numbers.
>3. Large Moral drop as lots of them drowned and have far fewer numbers

Cons
>1.The ogres left alive on the other side will start raiding and pilliages the village of Vahkin and Muttvile
>2. Our amies have to go all the way around though Dragon's Tomb to reach the army that will make their way to Gobopolis

Counters to the Cons:
>1. Burn the bridge from Muttvile and Gobopolis (Right river split)
>2. Have someone sacrifice more cattle to have wave do another tsunami when they cross the bridge or tsunami the towns.

>B.Wait until the front of the army is almost off the bridge then tsunami, while focusing most of the force on the ground troops before they cross.

Pros
>1.Stop all the Ogres from crossing into Muttville and Vahkin
>2.No raiding or pillaging of the two towns.
>3.Corning the Army to face us or dare go to the water (Wave already left, but they don't know that)
>4. Medium Moral drop as some of them drowned, but mostly intact, some are suffering from blunt force trauma as they got a whole tsunami at them.
>5. Could stop them from attacking more villages and end them for good

Cons
>1.Less amount of Ogres can be killed.
>2.There are more Ogres left to fight
>3. If we don't win they forced will go to the Gobiln mine then Firsthold (But Firsthold has stonewalls so it can be defended)

B
That's the two choices you factions have to pick, me I'm going to B since it's stop they pillaging and raiding the two towns. But A has a greater chance of killing half the army 2,000 Ogres but they will raid and pillage the Muttville and Vahkin while we have to go all the way around unless Wave part the water.
While B has more risk for our army it's stop them dead in their tracks and will keep the raiding and pillaging down

>4. If we win with B, then War is over!
>5. If we win with A. we have to loop around or Wave part water to go after the split army
>6. If we lose with B, then we fallback to Firsthold and hold it until reinforcements of our allies come.
>7. If we lose with A, wew Lad. Now we have two armies to worrk one raiding the east and one either retreating or going to attack Firsthold
>>
>>369473
That's my plan, it make Wave really useful while keeping her safe.
At best It can stop the Ogres War and we win. At worse we're force to fall back at Firsthold and wait for reinforcements then wait to attack a super weak army.

Both A and B has their uses. If we choose the safe option that A.
A
>1.We going to face half the army so 2:1 odds in our favor
>2. For the ogres that crossed the bridge we can burn or tsunami the next bridge. (If we go with buring it the villages can do it on their way across)
Stopping the Ogres to either fallback or brave the river water. (Fire safe choice, Wave they now know about her more danger)
>3. So for two raided villages we can always spend a turn to rebuild as well with the fort.

>So A is the safest choice that will not get our army destroyed while we have something to fall back on. Just have to sacrifice two towns we can always rebuild. Also our allies will get more time to arrive coming to goblin's goldmine so trapping the enemies forcing them to fallback or go through the river. To get to the ogres I think Wave can slow the currant of the river.

>So B is more risk choice, and while not sacrificing two towns. But if we fail they have a straight shot to First hold

After careful thinking and a good night rest. I know we can't trust the dice and it's better to go with A.

>>369773
This is the type of planning, I was getting ready during the civil war :^) Good thing it didn't come to that. :^)

>>369775
If we wait at Firsthold we don't to use this plan and they get to cross and raid the cities, then go to the goblin gold mine and take that.
In war you have to force you the enemies to attack, you have to set the battlefield. The ogres don't attack Firsthold as we saw, their just going to rais and pillage the unwalled settlements.

Wew, good to see you're safe, Obelix.
Anyhow, IC time now.

After several indecisive battles and skirmishes against the Storm Dragon's ogre army, we've lost our King, Mutt Dragonfist, and are down to a force of
>3800 humans, 325 demons, 500 goblins

The ogre horde has moved on and is headed east, rather than north. Aside from around 3700 fighting ogre men, they also bring thousands of ogre women and children and are led by a powerful storm dragon.

The Kulargi army, numbering 3000 humans, should be around Firsthold now.
We must make a strategic decisioin
A.Pursue the ogre army, send a messenger to the Kulargi to tell them where we're headed
B.Meet up with the Kulargi first before pursuing the ogres, we don't want to get caught in a trap
>>

At a steady pace, we've been able to tend to most of our wounded and rest up, while catching up to the ogres, thanks to our knowledge of the terrain.

Now, how shall we engage them?
A.Attack from behind, the element of surprise is ours!
B.Continue pursuing them until we get more reinforcements
C.Burn the bridge east of Muttvile, halting the ogre advance between the two rivers - if they try anything in the water, Wave's got our back
D.Have Wave summon a tsunami from the river water after they are between the two rivers(we'll have burned the bridge)
E.Split the enemy force in half by having a tsunami crash on the western bridge while they are crossing it
F.Tsunami the western bridge just as they are about to cross it, preventing a large force from getting across to the villages
G.Other

We could harass them force them in the bridge, I think their plan will have us cross the bridge and the dragon fires on it. So no charging after them when their crossing the bridge
So when we push them on the bridge we have to stay on land while wave does her thing, killing some of them. Splitting the force in half, also
I hope the people in the villages are falling back and doing the sacrifice before hand, while burning the other bridge to the gold mine the battle will give them time to do so, and get our allies to come to our aid.

>>
Guys after looking at the map a few thing became clear.
We lack infrastructure.
We need a wall at ogre's pass and need to connect the halflings with a lot of roads.
Also we need more cities on coast and in the south and in the lordship of Nayte.
>>
>>373040
C.Burn the bridge east of Muttvile, halting the ogre advance between the two rivers - if they try anything in the water, Wave's got our back
E.Split the enemy force in half by having a tsunami crash on the western bridge while they are crossing it
G. Play chat roulette with my followers on the other side of the river to warn them to evacuate, and tell the Kulgari army where to head.
>>
We've burned the eastern bridge, so the ogres will have a tough time getting on the other side of the river.

Now, as they are crossing the western brdige, Wave will attempt to make a tsunami from the river water and crash the western bridge - with no survivors!

Wave's water spell destroyes the western bridge, but ogre casualties are few. Most of their fighters are on the middle side, while the women and children along with 1300 men are now left on the western side. 2350 are in front of Vahkrin now.
The dragon, being capable of flight, can travel from one side to the other without problem.

Now, what should we do? The Kulargi reinforcements are still not here
A.Wait for reinforcements west of the river before engaging the horde's rearguard
B.Attack them now, while they are confused!
C.Other

Wave, a separate decision for you - your current location is a short distance north, near Muttvile.
A.Keep your current position and support from a lorg distance

*CRAAACK* Burigon gives one final shudder, before going limp.

"And soon, I shall rule the storm as well as sea!"

Wave drags his body down to begin consuming it, hoping that she is still compatible enough with lightning to gain his powers, and then with the surge of power, destroy the ogre forces.

POWER OVERWHELMING
The power of the Storm element is too much for Wave. At the last moment she is able to stop herself, barely avoiding death. She had to expend a lot of her magical power and is physically and magically weakened, but alive. She gained nothing from this, but we've got the remains of a dragon at least, mostly intact.

53 vs 144

The ogres break through our encirclement, scatter our forces and head south. An ogre shaman casts a powerful thunder spell, killing a number of our men and blinding many others for a bit.

It takes a while for our forces to get their bearings and regroup. The ogres are already out of sight, last seen heading south. The ogres on the other side of the river(most of the men) are also seen heading south.

The battle is over. We suffered a lot of losses, took out a dragon, but the ogres have escaped.

The total ogre force, both sides combined, now stands at 3200 men, 4500 women(only half of which fought) and 1500 children(most too young or weak to fight).

The sun is setting. Kulargi reinforcements will arrive tomorrow, we hope.

Our own army is now down to 3000 humans, 260 demons and 250 goblins. The Kulargi are bringing 3000 bronze-armed warriors.
Our troops are exhausted, morale is not as great as it could be.

C it is

The ogres have fled south, beyond our territories. It's been a month now as our forces have been resting up and standing guard on the borders, but no ogres are in sight. It seems this conflict is over.
Sancre Tor was heavily damaged as well as the countryside around Threemine. We lost a lot of men and the ogres have fled. We have the mostly-intact remains of a dragon, Wave is weakened and recovering from the battle.

With my hit or miss rolls we ought to at least be able to make progress next time. Clearly possible, just going to need some luck for a breakthrough. "Risky thing to pursue" duely noted, however. If we have issues, we need to immediately build a testing facility stronger than the Nayte workshops, sturdy as they are. Can't risk rogue golems, or, gods forbid, sapient constructs.

Hey, get outta here, Gobbo don't need your pity. Gobolopis is a fine and safe city only goblins in Nayte suffer these problems you describe.

We've mostly rebuilt Sancre Tor. A major project on building a wall across the pass has begun, but will take at least 6 years to finish, given our current economic troubles. You could try to speed up the construction using your clan's resources(H), keep in mind the cooldown though.

A&D
We've still got a limited supply of iron, coming from the demon-owned mines south of Lakefound, but we've started making iron tools and weapons that are equal in strength to the more-accessible(for now) bronze.
We've studied the dragon's organs and have a better understanding and capability of performing storm elemental magic, which has pleased some of our shamans.
Wave, if you want to try to absorb storm powers, try again, but be warned - another roll under 15 and you will die. You'll need 55 to succeed.

MAP UPDATE
Tell me if there's anything I missed.
The wall at the pass is marked down, but still under construction.

Now, 2 years have passed since Mutt Dragonfist died fighting the Storm Dragon Burigon.

It's spring of 107 and the time has come to choose a new Dragonking at the Contest.
Human factions that live outside of the lordship of Nayte may participate.
Give a description of your candidate and roll a 1d100. In the description you can make promises for what you'll do during your reign to get support.
The King of Roggar's votes count as 2 and he commands prestige and authority.
Non-human factions outside of Nayte and those who don't want to put up a candidate may roll a 1d7 to support someone else.

Demons hate menial labour, and it will increase our ability to make amke the common man better if he can focus more on school and knowledge rather than working the fields. Yeah, sort of primitve batteries, almost. I'm thinking Fallout 4 fusion cores, except not shitty. We nees to look into the very nature of magic, so we have a better idea of how to produce and store it. Right now, we're no further than we were in the srone age. Once we understand the fundamentals better we can really kick shit into high gear.

We're doing pretty well for our selves.
We've the monopoly on Iron, potions, enchanted magic, and we've the most advanced city as well.
>>373839
I am thinking we increase our magic on a personal level, so we could research on self sustaining golems. Cores that absorb free flowing energy in the air. We will will have a huge increase in productivity in Nayte once we can get that going.
>>
>>373862
Maybe also work on optimizing them for labor? Or even for different types of labor.
>>
We've settled more hamlets and farmsteads along the great river, implemented our best in agricultural technology and expanded irrigation systems. The worship of Zemel, the farmer god, has increased. Regular prayer to him grants villages better weather and richer soil and priests teach the farmers better techniques.

>>373858
Small timeskip now, so we've rebuilt what was destroyed.

We're not anywhere near the industrial revolution of normal infrastructure, and I bet we're even further from it for magic, seeing literally all we've got for secular magic are faction projects. Yeah I am surprised this silly shit is still going on too. instead of focusing on making a city great like we are. they are focused on making multiple city's and are just trying to compete to suppress us. Instead of making a university of the west coast where many of their people are they chose to make a university on the east side of the kingdom where one already exists making the east like a country side. while the west has a huge boom. Which I do not mind at all. in fact I enjoy the idea.

If not clay, then stone. We can certainly help each other here, seeing as they're designed to farm primarily. We just need to make sure the nation's infrastructure is ready for it. We'll have a groip H vote on it a few turns from now, probably to develop magic cores for sutainability.

A&D

We've started making linen from flax that we've imported from the east. The priests of Kovag also teach various crafts such as jewelry, pottery, leatherworking and whatnot which has a general effect on all aspects of civilized life.

In military tech, we've developed longer polearms - pikes - that work well in trained formations. Our professionals are mostly using armor weapons now, though iron is still in short supply for large-scale production of armor.
We've developed military-use thrown spears for our skirmishers.
Learning from the cult of Zemel, we've learned how to better ride horses into combat. We can now develop basic horse cavalry.

Now rolling for Main Story event.

Further, we're all working on bettering the civ as a whole. AND on top of everhthing, thr vote system is such that we cannot directly "oppose" one another, only vote for what we individually like. We haven't found any undiscovered iron deposits on our already settled lands yet.
With the blessings of Wave and Gyolas though, our ships were able to travel far to the north and east and we've encountered two human civilizations we'd only heard of before.
In the cool northern shores we've met the Norsemen, heathens who have not accepted the Pantheon faith as of yet. Their ships are sturdy and they are a strong people who often fight each other and every now and then go raiding when the weather gets cold and their crops are not enough.

To the east we've discovered the westernmost outpost of the Kingdom of Paitras - the small coastal town of Vaesgyolis. Though it is not large in size, our sailors are impressed by the sturdy stone buildings and the marble columns of the local temple to Gyolas, the god of Seas. Iron is widely used and the richer folk there wear fancier clothes than anything we've seen before. Paitras seems to be a Kingdom that is ahead of us in technological development. So far our contact with them has been minimal, though.

Being the wife of Gyolgas would be impressive. But he still hasn't even contacted me, and I would rather rise to his level rather than have him ascend me.

So, I have a new goal. Rather than remain content with my current powers, I wish to become the Goddess of Elements, and absorb each of the powers of the old gods I can, perhaps through dragons, perhaps through learning the ways of lore passed down by the faithful as yourself.

So, yes, this means I wish to learn even Fire and Dark magic, even if it will be very difficult.

Alright, for magic/tech stuff, if anyone wants to vote for developing Wave's powers, also specify how you'd like her to develop her powers towards helping the Demons.

Those who wish to bolster Resplendent Wave's power so that she might seek the source of the curse...

>Godomancy Level 5- Demigod Ascension, Wave goes from being a 8/10 magical being to a 9/10 true demigod, halfway to complete apotheosis. This improves her deific power, leads to better senses, and better purification powers.
>Hydromancy Level 4- Wave's strongest power, continue developing powers of cleansing and purification.
>Fishomancy Level 3- Shark cavalry? That's relevant? Somehow?
>Stormomancy Level 3- Well, not really sure what we'd want for a spell here, but Stormomancy is less diametrically opposed to Flame, so developing this would be a good stopgap.
>Darkomancy Level 1- The true nature of a demon is the edge in the darkness, developing this from the old Night Stalker rituals passed down and stored in the Great Library would be a good step towards understanding the curse.
>Pyromancy Level 1- Naw, true nature of a demon is a fiery heart! Trying this will be hard for Wave as a primarily Sea goddess, but she can try. Same reasons as Darkomancy.

Full-time scientists based in libraries in larger settlements teach their students lessons on mathematics and physics, using scrolls and ink. They study ways to make better tools, buildings and discover new concepts of natural science.
We've improved our irrigation systems, farming tools are made out of iron largely. Horse and cattle are widely employed. We've also started producing wine from grapes, imported from the halflings, that we've started growing in our southern farmlands.

>>
>>374350
>>374339
Im also going with this idea.
>>
I'd appreciate if you guys could vote on one, and perhaps give me ideas on what you'd like me to do with things.

My old system is that advancing level grants you additional power at the base manipulation of the element and any spells of that element.

So, Pyromancy level 1, no matter what kind of Fire god you are, grants you basic throw sparks and small fires around powers. But, depending on what kind of god you are, you get a different spell, which is not just moving fire around, but something thematically linked to fire.

For example, I think I'd chose "Smoke Breathing". Which would allow people to breath in smoke with no danger. Other than the fact you'll probably burn to death soon.
>>
>>374390
Then we'll vote for it as our faction action, and everyone can pitch in by doing it as a nation action on the same turn. I think a grander temple dedicated to you is due in Nayte anyway, and wanted to make one for a while. We'll show you what marble and granite can be like in demon hands.

They wish to establish an embassy on behalf of Paitras here to serve as a base of diplomatic relationships and invite us to do the same in their capital city, Dominas.

A.Shoo, foreigners!
B.Let them buy some building in Dragonstomb and do whatever they want as long as they don't break anything
C.Accept and prepare a diplomatic mission for Paitras

So if they're doing the Roman bit, then we need to be an advanced Greco-Germanic group.
>>
>>374459
>>374463
Maybe we could get some new tech from them like our neighbours did.
>>
"Excellent. then! Another ship will arrive soon with a colleague of mine, you can take your own ship and follow them to the east if you want"

So, who wants to take part in the diplomatic mission?
Think it through. Paitras is center of the Pantheon faith and is the most highly advanced human Kingdom, they have contact with dwarves and elves to their east.

If you want to take part in the mission, say who you're sending, maybe give a description of that character.

In aiming to be a Goddess of the Old Elements, these below.
Storm, Flame, Wind, Earth, Water, Ice, Light and Dark

I'm currently Storm and Water (and Fish.)
I'm also a level 4 Goddess, and level 5 is a big bump.

Now, those are my ELEMENTS. My tools, if you will. But what I do with them is up to my aspect.
My aspects are healing, purification, life, and protection. (You are right, I haven't gotten healing yet)
These are represented by my spell choices, such as Holy Water, Water Purification, Storm Ward, Fishery Blessings.

So, I can take a healing spell. But what element/flavor of healing spell would you like? Just some examples.

Water Element - Healing Waters, basic healing waters.
Storm Element - Spark of Revification, resurrect someone with a whole body, (aka, restart the heart).
Water(Maybe /Dark?) Element - Blood Absorption, heal by absorbing blood, more powerful than Healing Waters, but requires blood.
Wind Element - Second Wind, rejuvenate the bodies energy.
Fire Element - Consume Flame, devour fire to heal, not the best at healing, but bonus gives you a powerful anti-fire weapon.

>>
>>374478
Can I go as an individual
>>
>>374478
I'm taking my leader Wulfseige of Godric he is 42 and has the person that came up with the plan to stop the ogres.
He is the currently the head General and personally adviser to the King but since their was no war no help was needed.

He served in the military and is skilled in combat and planning. He is coming to visit since his father and family were the first to accept the new gods.
>>
>>374498
Sure, give a name and description
>>
>>374504
Pssst, your name dropped.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, I seriously do think we should send Asura.

Why? Because his goal is to prove Demons aren't so bad.

And let's say Wave figures out the demon curse and breaks it. Suddenly, there's nothing wrong with the demon contract. We'll have to get our neighbors, especially Paitras, to start accepting the Demons.

If it turns out the Pantheon was lying all along? Well, unless our neighbors also lose faith in the Pantheon when we do, we're gonna get super-crunched by the three faction alliance.
>>
>>374478
"I'll go myself. I like to think I'm rather charming, and I'm sure I can handle myself if things go sour. "

(Ano is a solidly-built 6'4" demon who's well-spoken and is the elected representative of the Daemon League. He's decent with most weapons and has become a fairly accomplished fire mage after Lucius' passing in the battle against Suhkamuhk. He'll be taking an enchanted bronze shortsword with him, more ceremonial than anything, but enhanced to glow red hot in combat. I'll find a picture as soon as I find an artist who doesn't draw demons as deipping with edge.)
>>374490
As the only guy to have resident fure mages, I'm very tempted to vote for consume fire, but Healing Waters or Spark of Revification are probably best. I'd lean towards Healing Waters.
>>
>>374478
sending my second in command Peter Kinsen. Our aim is to establish contact with our fellow Wise God worshippers within Paitras.
>>
>>374478
The chief's nephew, Moses Shekelord, will participate. He's a young studious man, the smartest in the clan. Black hair, brown skin, loves money like a true Goy
>>
>>374513
We can get more eventually.

For example, I thought of another Fire Healing
Fire Element- Heart Aflame, temporarily gain increased vigor and regeneration, but after the effect wears off, extreme fatigue.

I think developing a series of fire spells to let demons berserk without requiring potions(or even better with both) would be great.
>>
Sending my younger brother Chaser Dragonfist, as a representative of the Dragonfist family and not the kingdom,(Seeing as there is already the whole mission for that) and also seeing as the king travelling himself would be dangerous. Sending him to seek marriage with a powerful house from their kingdom.
>>
>>374520
And humans, but Demons as naturally fire aspected would be pretty great at it.
>>
>>374520
>>374526
I like your style! This is all kinds of useful, as it'll decrease logistical costs as well as remove the nasty risk of blowing critters and people up with improper potion dosing. The demons will be more than happy to continue this particular line of non-secular magic, I assure you.
>>
>>374478
Send ragna leader of blood clan
I have to leave now so goodbye have fun.
>>
>>374513
If things go south, head for the coast! Asura can keep you alive under the waters, and let me know to come and pick you guys up.
>>
>>374478
I'll send one of my own.

His name is Belial, he was part of the original hoard thus extremely old. Around 140, he's about 6,5 tall, He is one of the many craftsmen in the free masons but also a great warrior as he trains along the blood clan. He's going as he wants to change the opinion of demons in their kingdom and see if they'll be intrested in our extremely rare creations. He'll take a enchanted sword similar to the one crafted for Ano that burns on contact. He'll be garbed in iron armour for the trip.
>>
>>374516
>>374459
Forgot to mention he's a decent swordsman, and carries that in case things go south. Although, he would hope for peaceful resolutions.

Ano, would the daemons be willing to teach some Mercurials fire magic? I figure when it comes to the defense of Nayte, it may be neccessary.
>>
>>374504
Forget to say that as a general to the king himself he is armed with finely made equipment. He is well versed in the pantheon faith as he is a faithful believer. Want to increase relations between the kingdoms. He brings with him gifts, and will like to get a marriage for his youngest son, as well as bring back important pantheon ideas for the temple at center hold.

Is happy to travel in the sea with wave. Even if his father hated Demons, he find them useful and will try to help them if he could.
Tall fair skin blond hair, blue eyes.
He carries some potions diluted if their any trouble. He hopes not as he just want to life it up since he's getting old.
>>
>>374569
"Happy to! I'll arrange for lessons to take place as soon as we depart. Just be prepared to lose some eyebrows."
>>
>>374585

>>
>>374596
I'll send Al - village idiot.
>>
>>374595
The first few generations will be rather dumb, but we're looking for something to do manual labor more than anything. Once they're sophisticated enough to do simple farming, mining, and maybe even basic animal care, Nayte will be free to do much, much more academically. Our rather unique diet and disinclination for simple labor makes these hard for demons, and further restricts our already very limited population.

Later models will be able to do much more, however, and I'd like your input as well, seeing as you're participating so readily.
>>
>>374604
And I'll quietly abduct Al off the ship and send him back home after the ship leaves port.
>>
>>374611
I'd say construction as well. Farming would be beneficial for both of us, as we hold some farmlands as well. If anything I want librarian golems for Nayte's great library. We Mercurials are willing to do whatever for peace and knowledge, so contributing to a rather looked down upon group with academic interests seems the best way to do that.
>>
>>374624
The Masons and the League are all about construction, but our numbers are limited, and our work is masterful, bjt hardly utilitarian. I'm sure we can get them to lay the stones they cut, as well as work a brick kiln. We'll make sure they can do that as well, but I'd like to personally offer the League's assistance if you ever want something built, and built well.

An initial close-combat boarding action is repelled, after which our spellcasters light one of the longships aflame, while a Paitran spellcaster summons a large wave that crashes into another longship, throwing several crewmen offboard. The third longship flees, leaving the last few norsemen easy prey for our fighters.
The Paitrian captain checks up on our ship. 1 sailor died, but otherwise no casualties.
"Acursed heathens. They make excuses for this when we capture them, saying it's the only way for them to survive. If they would accept the Pantheon, their blessings would make living in the cold north far more bearable, they'd be able to prosper and live peacefully, piously."

With that our journey to Archeport continues undisturbed.

Docking there we see a city about the size of Dragonstomb, with stone walls, nice houses and a large temple to Gyolas. The sun is setting so we seek lodgings for the night.
What should we do on the next day?
A.Check the city out - the temple, the market, see how these people live

A
Let's learn a little about this kingdom before we continue
>>
>>374728
Seconding this, I'd like directions to their lands. Maybe we could even offer to deal with these pirates ourselves, mention just how creative demons can be. Once in our custody, we could have them show us the waterways they use, likely much more advanced than our own routes.
>>
The city is visited by ships from the Kulargi and Norsemen(not all of them are so keen on raiding) and caravans from the elves in the east. Interesting wares can be found here - glass, silks, jewelry, linen, lots of fish and other seafood.
This is one of the richer places in the Kingdom, overall - 8000 humans live inside the walls of the city and there's farms and fishing villages closeby. Paitras as a whole is estimated to have a population of close to 600 000 humans.
Humans of over two dozen different tribes, hundreds of clans in total, lived in these lands over the centuries, building copper, stone and bronze tools, working the lands, warring against each other, the ogres in the west and the dwarves in the east. They worshipped the elements like us, but then their connection to the Old Gods was lost. From the dwarven mountains a trio of Fire Dragons descended and established themselves as tyrants, rulling over the various tribes and demanding riches and sacrifices.
It was the words of the New Gods that saved these humans from the dragons. Prayers were offered and answers came. More started to believe and a prophet, Paiter, arose. He taught his students the magic of the Pantheon and he taught his warriors how to fight the dragons. The people of his tribe rose up and united the other nearby tribes, vanquishing the dragons and establishing the first human Kingdom. Since then they've spread out from their capital Dominas, conquering or uniting other human tribes in all directions. Today they are at peace with the dwarves and in recent decades have established contact with elven explorers, coming from a distant land in the east.
The people of Paitras are devout worshippers of the Pantheon.
The New Gods do not act directly, but through proxies - the priests of Paitras can use the magic of the Pantheon to help grow crops, heal wounds, strengthen the mind and body and cause damage to enemies and much more.
Gyolas, being the Sea God, has a large temple here in Archeport.
The Paitran navy protects the larger settlements, but sometimes smaller outlying fishing villages are attacked by Norse raiders. Other than that, the people live good lives, praising their Gods and recieving their blessings in return.

Now it is time to head south, to Dominas, the capital.
We will establish an embassy and meet with some of the local leaders.
What will each of your characters seek to do? You can just stick to the mission or try to do something on the side, if you want.

And we have proved our good intentions towards that end by supporting her and the Kingdom of Roggar."

The Priesthood's official position on demons is that their numbers must not be allowed to increase. The Kingdom has fought against vile demons in the south and east before and they are enemies of the Pantheon, but there have been a couple of examples of demons who wish to renounce their evil ways. They have been allowed to live in peace, so long as they do not convert others to demonhood.
According to the priests, only the Gods have power over mortal souls. Demons were originally guardians of Hell, but in an ancient war some centuries ago, a part of them broke into the mortal plane and settled here permamently, starting to convert others and killing all who opposed them.
The Pantheon teaches that the boundries of Heaven, Earth and Hell must be respected - few are ever allowed to pass from one to the other and return. The original demons were not allowed to leave Hell and yet they did so, hence why their presence is an offence.
>>
>>374860
"I see! Wonderful! If Gods are those with power of mortal souls, and if Resplendent Wave succeeds in her quest to become a Goddess independently of Gyolgas, in order to be more worthy of him, then there's absolutely no issue with her tinkering with demonic souls? Correct?"
