Disclaimer:
Mods, the 3-thread rule should include the ability for an OP to request that old threads be removed from the catalog. One of my players was banned because we wanted to sage the old threads away. /qst/ isn't making enough new threads and my first quest thread is still standing. Please discuss anything relevant to this rather than just deleting threads and banning posters, give us a warning.

With that somber business dealt with, let the tale of the tribe of Rog continue.

A summary of past threads:
>The Old Gods are gone, our shamans' magic along with them
>We settled by the coast and developed our copper-age civilization into the bronze age, slaying a Water Dragon, peacefully annexing a goblin mining village and accepting in a warband of demons as settlers
>Racial tensions have not subsided, however. From the east a priest has come, bringing the words of his Pantheon of New Gods, whose power he has displayed before us through magic
>That priest offers knowledge, power and the Gods' blessings to the tribe if they follow the ways of the Gods
>However, that includes forbidding our demons from spreading their demonblood and converting mortals to demonhood
>A war is brewing over the discord among the factions within our tribe

TO ALL FACTIONS
Before the war itself begins, submit a description of your faction and its Assets and declare yourself to be either Pro-Pantheon, Pro-Demon or Neutral.

Use this time for diplomacy - try to get factions to join your bloc and such.
Discuss military strategies at your own peril! I am privately in contact with the leaders of the two blocs and they have told me their plans for the war itself. Were those plans to be leaked to the other side, a counter-strategy could be developed! That is why when the war begins, I won't openly reveal either of the sides' plans when the turn has come in the name of keeping military secrets.
Prepare yourselves for a wild ride! One side will be victorious and another will lose - such is the nature of war. If your faction ends up being destroyed in this war, you can always start a new one after it is over.

Our civilization's stats
Year 73, early Spring

>>Population:6700 humans, 750 goblins, 620 demons

>>Military:Bronze-armed militia, chariots, demon warband(250 expert warriors), 180 hoplites

Writing the scenes now.

Notajo Assets: Traders/Dragonfort/Godric isle’s/Lakefound/lods o money/copper mines/inky’s luck :^)

We're mostly traders and administrators in the Notajo clan.
We support Wolfe's claim of the crown of man and title of True Dragon King as well as the establishment of a new pantheon.
So yeah we're Pro-pantheon.
This is really a war that i didn't want but one we must take part in, there's no backing down now.
>>

I don't think you know what sage does.

Clan Erden

Long before the Great Storm shamans of clan Erden utilised earth elements to better agriculture, and even more than other shamans they felt great affection to the earth and all the beings that dwelled on it. But after the Great Storm they found them self cut off from their magic and the elements they fell into disarray. Those couple of years after the Great Storm were trully dark for clan Erden, they lost all their prestige they built trought the years, almsot all posesions they owned and almost turned to begging to survive. But then in the darkest hour of clan Erden the youngest son of the clans former leader Ulrich rose up and took over the clan leadership. He said that he still feels the connection to the earth and that the connection stayed in the hearths of mebers of clan Erden. He promised to make clan Erden great again! He took a loan from clan Goy and bought farms from other clans and viliagers. Connection to earth and the creatures that dweled on it still run strong trough the veins of clan Erden.
>Asets: lots of farms outside of Dragons Tomb and Firsthold, small estate in Dragon Tomb, great affection to earth and earth magic, a copper mine down south
>Pro-Pantheon
Also the loan to Clan Goy has been repayed incase the newer plays dont know.
>>
>>360052
Wasn't my idea. Either way, the rules of this board should be revised.
>>
Goblin Trinket seller here, this thread should be interesting. As I've stated before, I'm neutral here SENPAI but I've embargoed the pantheon supporters
>>
>>360052
It does push a thread above the bump limit thus making it die for sure.

"People, I hope there is still chance for peace, perhaps a peaceful splitting of ways into two tribes. But I believe that no peace will be found, due to all of us calling Dragon's Tomb our home."

"This war may start noble, but it will become horrible. I have heard my own side strategies. There are talks of burning fields if it must be done, and of turning me into a goddess of war. I have heard rumors of what the demons may do to their prisoners to gain magic. Desperation will make evil of us all, no matter which side is winning."

"If I may make one last bid for a semblance of peace, I would ask that both sides gather their forces and fight a battle without civilians or slaughter of prisoners. The winner takes Dragon's Tomb for their side, and the loser retreats to their other holdings, and we split into two tribes. I do not believe this request will be listened to, but I make it nonetheless."

Faction Name: Iron Legion
Leader: Cassius Whitevayne
A warrior faction that has recently risen out of the fighting pits of DragonsTomb. They based their base on the tip of bull coast and own most of the lands there. They believe in the war god stoman which they renamed Mars. They are armoured in heavy bronze plate armour and carry large rectangular shields. They train everyday in their hold in the bullshorn. The soldiers when off duty are farmers and herdsmen.

>Assets: heavy infantry (Legionaries), Most of the lands in bulls coast/ bullshorn. Large herds. small Village at bullhorn pinnacle called IronHall

>Neutral At this point in time
>>
>>360060
Oh and GWU's assets are as such
Tin Mine
Gobber Ghettos
Redneck Gob miners
Gob farmers working for Godric (Currently back in gob ghettos for remainder of war)
Tin stockpile

And of course I am neutral
>>
>>360067
Is wave killable?
>>360058

MWAHHAHAHA
>>
>>360032
Pro-Pantheon
Okay guys the King of the Tribe doesn't want a war. We just want the demons to accept this reasonable demands. Also demons give your opinion.
1.The tribe is going for the Pantheon. but you can still do your own thing.
2.No more demons from our clan, but you can increase your numbers if you do it in secret.
3.It didn't have to come to this.

Godric Assets: Village of Godric Isle, Village of Inkport, Shared village of Lakeport Mine of Godric Isle (Copper and other metals), Trading port on Godric Isle, Fort on Godric Isle, Port of Godric Isle, Port of Inkport, fertile farmland on Isle, Lots of land in Inkport. Great Marriage with neighbor.
Lots of wealth and land in Godric isle,Inkport, and herds.
Every type of job is here, farmers, herders, fishers, traders, warriors, hunters,

If anyone want to join the pro-pantheon team you will be rewarded with wealth and gain favors from the king himself

>>360069
I'm the king, name you reward and it will be done
>>
>>360073
No bully Wave.
She's our god ok?
(she is killable but she is strong when people believe in her as deity.)
>>
>>360072
Actually the Goblins farmers are working from GWU for me. But stull they will remain back at the gobblin getthos for the durration of the war.
>>
>>360073
Wave is of the same class of being as a Dragon. We killed a Water Dragon in our first thread which led to her arrival.
>>
>>360080
Huh I could've sworn that GWU gave them to godric. oh well, thanks for clearing that up
>>
Alright, it's come to my attention that most of the demons would prefer a non-violent solution to this. Basic autonomy and allowing us to keep Nayte and basic trading rights in Dragon's Tomb, in exchange for not recruiting from Rog or Kulargar, and not settling further north than Nayte, as we had originally agreed. We honestly aren't looking to pick a fight. If we can, we'd like to do our own thing and improve the society. We're craftsmen and engineers and scholars by trade. We just want to be left alone.
>>
Wave Chasers
Followers: Some Fishermen who pray before and after the fishing, priests that man the shrines.

Relations: Seashell Poets are providing poems which function as prayer in return for protection blessings.

Assets: Resplendent Wave a Sea-Serpent Nymph godling, with portfolios of fish and water. Temple in Dragon's Tomb. She appears on the dragonmarks currency. Shrines in every coastal settlement. Has been stockpiling holy water since Year 44.

Weaknesses: No monetary resources.

Spells: Hydromancy Lvl 3, Fishomancy Lvl 2, Water Breathing, Water Purification, Holy Water, Fishery Blessings,

Active Blessing: Holy Water

Pro-Pantheon... Ish. She's mainly in this because her followers have gone gung-ho. She'd rather wait and see the pantheon in action before committing.

>>360073
Y.y..yes.... :(

Although I have become a minor goddess of fish, water, protection, life, and purification, I'm still a sea-serpent nymph at my core. A good stabbing will kill me.
>>
>>360090
Should could use the help from those fish senpai, I told you to conjure killer salmon's and land sharks
>>
>>360087
Hell, a lot of people in our faction were intending on imposing those as the conditions if you lost the war.

I was the only one moving for genocide, because I thought "If they're willing to start a civil war over getting to reproduce, they'll keep reproducing in secret and continue dooming people's souls. I can't allow that."
>>
>>360087
That's something I can agree to, I just have to see what my follow alliance thinks.

Also you can help around the whole tribe, not just your own in the future. But that a idea.
>>
>>360087
Alright we'll have to work this out.
we're ok with you not taking people from the rog tribe and taking people from other clans 'as long as the priest stay oblivious to this)
Also Nayte must be your official capital and you are to name lord to become vassal to lord Wolfe Godric the first of his name, King of Rog by Holy rights and defender of the realm.
>>
>>360087
The blood clan supports this idea

soon...
>>
>>360095
I entertained the idea, but ultimately I'm peaceful (and cowardly) at heart. I don't want to have to kill anybody. I never even made good on my drowning demons threat. I was bluffing. :(
>>
>>360102
Litterally who, I've never heard of this faction
>>
>>360032
Great Crow Clan

Clan took big losses during dragon fight.
Hates non-humans.
Dislikes sea.
Dislikes magic, but recognizes it's strength.
Enjoys alcohol and taming wild animals.

Assets: Small clan of warlike hewers and skilled hunters, for some reason clansmen are stronger than your average human.

Don't care for gods, but can't wait to kill demons so Pro-Pantheon.
>>
>>360075
>>360087
Clan Erden also seeks a peacfull solution, taking into account that most of Clan Erden's clansmen are but simple farm men and the clan has no real military force. Wars take a huge toll on the evonkmy and agriculture, especially civil wars.
>>
>>360104
Let's forget the demons, we found the true heretic here talking about salying our gods :^)
>>
>>360099
Nah. Don't be a dick.

Some of their sympathizers are people who don't want to adopt the pantheon and still wait for the elemental gods. They want to keep the old tribal ways.

Let them keep the name of the Tribe of Rog. let them keep their ways, and be independent (though restricted to stay to the south).

We'll be the Sea Dragon Kingdom(Or maybe still Union) of the Pearlescent Sea.
>>
>>360114
They have to be in the same governement and civilization otherwise it defeat the purpose of people within a single civilisation playing as faction.
Giving them the status of lord and vassal should actually be an honor.
It mean they're more or less trusted with this part of the Realm
>>
>>360075
Dragonmarks
Favours (One is a big one :^))
Loot
>>
>>360121
I really don't think they'd take it that way.

Also, I was still in roleplay-ee mode. Apart from "don't be a dick" That was me, not Wave.

Wave does not understand the concept of "we must remain the same political entity or the thread breaks."
>>
>>360129
That will be done, I promise. But make sure is not something so crazy we can't do it in our current tech.
>>
>>360106
Faction name: blood clan
leader name is Scourge
They are warriors that see great potential in themselves and when they moved into to dragons tomb they bin learning everything the humans know about combat sense there skill were good enough too kill a Dragon there goals pretty simple they want to be the best warriors this world has ever seen and to get rid of people that get in the way of progress
I made them in the last thread
>>
>>360134
I'm pretty sure the big one is "Kill Wave."
>>
>>360087
I have a question for Demons in general. Do you only craft fancy things or do you craft practical things(tools, swords etc.) but with better quality then the tools made by human crafstmen?
>>
Oi bulgar, can I do faction projects since this is a new turn?
>>
>>360134
oh
Its
Doable

: ^ )
>>
>>360135
Ah. Well, welcome back.
>>
>>360143
If it's killing wave then no. Also you have no reason to be against her she can help you catch fish since your clan is by the sea.
Is one of you favors building a area in you own land?
>>
>>360058
I didn't know there was an "only three threads of a quest / game" rule. I do see how that comes into conflict with popular daily games like this one.
>>
>>360132
Really We're just giving them power by doing that, we're just turning demons in fort into official lords that are trusted by the king.
It's a big upgrade.
>>360136
>>360143
Good luck killing Wave she's pretty fucking strong given proper circumstances.
Also we've married her to a god of the pantheon.
Killing her would not only anger the crown but also the gods.
>>
>>360143
"Nyeeeeeh, at least I'm a real goddess who can grant powers, unlike your stupid fourth-wall breaking one."
>>
>>360121
Assuming that this would make us effective equals, at least within our own realm, this would be satisfactory. We don't much care about the name of our group, and we wouldn't want to leave the civ. We still want to contribute to the civ as a whole. I'm feeling the whole 'separate but equal' thing. Except actually separate and equal.
>>360140
We make everything, friend. Buildings, tech, metal goods, leather, arms, armor, everything.
>>
>>360150
"Wh... what... But guys... I don't wanna marry someone I've never met. :("

The Priest had spent several hours showing off his magical abilities to commonfolk before the leaders of the major faction in our tribe came to him - humans, goblins and pro-demon humans as well. The area was off-limits to the demons themselves as per a recent law.
The clanheads went back to the center of Dragonstomb, where the demon leaders had also assembled. They learned of all the Priest had said.
"Hmph. I expected something like this to happen" said Fernius, leader of all the demons.
Arguments were had and it almost came to blows, but it seems some still believe that war can be avoided.
The Priest's conditions were to limit demonic reproduction, in which case the demons would be allowed to live.
Many deliberations are had, but it seems we will give one last chance to diplomacy. Perhaps we can settle on an agreement.
Everyone vote on this on behalf of your faction. Anons could vote too, they'd have to say who they represent.

A.There can be no peaceful solution! There must be war!
B.Set Nayte as the center of a vassal region in which there is freedom of religion. Demons will not be allowed to convert humans from the Pantheon-believing religions.
C.Other proposal

There si no benefits to gain from this war.
What the Demons want is basically the peace deal we were going to impose if we won the war. No point in losing good men whn there is a peacefull solution.

Question guys, I understand peace but we will still be allowed outside of the demons territory right? Considering I'm heavily invested in Dragons Tomb.

Yea that raises a question, Gobber's Ghetto and our tin mine goes through both territory. I don't want any goblins caught between any side
>>
>>360254
Just wear cloaks and masks.
And work indoor and hire human merchants.
Nobody will suspect the smith is a demon.
>>
>>360254
Considering how close we came to war and that we might again in the future, I'm really quite leery about allowing people who would have sided with them to keep their holdings in Dragon's Tomb.

I mean, maybe if you were commissioned to do construction work an the like, but otherwise I'd be happier if we were fully separated.

>>360258
I'm pretty sure the Goblins were neutral, aye? Then you'd be part of the pantheon kingdom, but wouldn't necessarily have to convert.

Within the Hall of Crafts, one of the proud creations of demon masons, the faction leaders assembled.
Talks took several weeks, but in the end a deal was negotiated.
Nayte will serve as center of a semi-autonomous region within our nation.

Now, for some details
1.The demons
A.Can still move around freely as before, aside from demon-free zones
B.Will be allowed to keep their quarter of Dragonstomb, but other long-term demon residences may only be allowed in the Nayte region
C.Must be confined to the semi-autonomous region, unless granted a pass to travel into the Kingdom (for work, for instance)
2.Religion outside the Nayte region
A.Make the Pantheon faith our official religion - convert or move to Nayte!
B.Freedom of religion
C.Only Pantheon temples and altars may be built outside the Nayte region, otherwise you can have your own faith in private

Further changes in the future are possible

That's why I went with B B since you moving around freely will get everyone else butt hurt about us. I picked it because it will limit problems for both of us.
>>
1 - A, 2 - B

The differences between the two areas will practically be in regards to government. It is expected that those who feel strongly against the Pantheon will likely move to the Nayte region anyway, but we will not be infringing upon anyone's rights.

Also, we should choose a fancy name for the Semi-autonomous region.

With the matter resolved peacefully, Svetnal, the eastern priest, has returned by ship to his home Kingdom, Paitras. He has said that he will return with more priests who will begin spreading the Pantheon's faith and possibly crown our chieftain Wolfe as King.

We've commisioned a monument to peace and the construction of a Proper King's Hall.

Work is still underway on both(You can suggest a design for the monument, if there's no ideas it'll just be an obelisk).
Now, we have news - it is autumn and the eastern priests have returned.
A coronation ceremony will be held for our chieftain, who will be accepting the faith of the Pantheon.

Now, two matters.
1.Will you be attending?

I think the monument should perhaps be of the Leader of the Demons shaking hands with our new King Wolfe. Maybe at the top of a half obelisk.

Will I be attending
1A. Aye. Unless you're not holding it next to the coast. I kinda can't support my own weight on land without excessive frivolity of magic.

2B. My main problem with the demons was not that I believed ours were evil, but that they were dooming souls. Now that they've agreed to at least not do that to the people I consider mine, I would allow them to visit my temples or use my fishery blessings, if they wish. And I'd like for it to be at my temple because then I can be there. :/

Most clans and factions leaders are present at the ceremony, at the beach near Wave's Temple - she herself is able to see it, as she is in the water nearby.
The eastern priests are present, having brought along an altar of their own.
Svetlan recites the rites of conversion into the faith of the Pantheon as our chieftain kneels before the altar.
"Wolfe of clan Godric, chieftain of the tribe of Rog - do you accept the faith of the Gods of the Heavenly Pantheon?"
"I do."
"Do you swear to obey the Gods' laws and to be ever faithful to the Pantheon?"
"I swear it."
"Do you swear to uphold justice, honor and virtue and to serve your people faithfully as you serve the Gods?"
"I swear it."

"Then rise, King Wolfe of Godric, first King of Dragonstomb!"

Shall we host a feast?
A.Aye! Invite all the important folks and we shall celebrate the beginning of a new age!
B.Aye! Invite all of our people and any of our neighbours that want to come! It shall be a great feast!
C.Nay, there is more important work to be done. It's almost harvesting season.

this

I like muh dragon marks

>>
>>360697
I think it's an important question with longterm political and cultural ramifications.

If the Wolfmark is worth more than the Dragonmark, then we are saying this dynasty is better than what came before.

This will continue. Each dynasty will feel the need to prove its superiority over the old.

If we make the wolfmark worth less, then we are taking a humble route. We are the children of the old ways, even as we strike out on our own.

I would prefer them to be equal. Our dynasty is a strong new direction, but we still pay respect to the old ways.

Of course, financially, it's the weakest option, seeing your new currency hasn't helped trade any.
>>
Our current system of governance:
The Kingdom of Roggar is ruled by the Dragonking, chosen at the traditional Contest that may be held in Spring to challenge the current Dragonking or when a Dragonking has passed away.
A semi-autonomous region exists within the Kingdom, the Lordship of Nayte. Its current ruler is the Demon Lord Fernius.
>>360684
>>360697
We have very small amounts of gold available, mostly what's found in the river. We have a silver mine that we use for making Dragonmarks.
You could make Wolfmarks out of copper, tin or bronze, which would make it a lower denomination than the dragonmark, worth 0,1/0,2 or 0,5 dragonmarks respectively.

Now, any further changes to governance can be done through G or through H in regards to separate regions/factions.

We will mint copper Fishmarks, bronze Wolfmarks and silver Dragonmarks. Their value is respectively 1:5:10 Marks.
The Contest will only be held in the absence of a ruler from now on, in the name of stability.
We've asked for priests of Juras to share their knowledge with us.

We've been taught the method of producing parchment from animal skins, which may be used for writing scrolls. We've learned of the language of Paitras, not too distant from that of the Kulargi.
The Juras Priesthood has helped us form more advanced legal concepts, as is their God's teaching - civic contracts, commercial legislature and other such concepts have been introduced, allowing us to form a more advanced society, formulating aristocracy - the most powerful, ruling hereditary bloodlines are considered such now.

We've completed the construction of the King's Hall and the Monument to Peace - the statue of a human and demon shaking hands on a pedestal, behind which we built a fountain and small obelisk with the details of our recent history written down.

(Not totally sure what my role here is given that the actual demon leader is a QMPC, but I'll roll with it until Bulgar stops me)
Yes toboth trades. We're more than happy to have our smiths produce better tools for you. And while Nayte does have some farmland, we can't quite feed everyone with the demons consuming all the game and livestock.
While we'd be happy to build for you in the future, I would recommend asking the Free Masons, as that's more their area of expertise, though we can get the job done just fine.

None have ownership, but I think the majority of the demons now reside in Nayte. No new construction as of yet, I've been attempting to explore to the south to find new lands to spread to and support our frankly massive population. They're all effectively religious refugees. I plan on expanding the city and getting some more arable land to make sure the humans are supported, and then setting up another city/town/camp to the south to make sure we get enough game for the increased number of demons. Getting our own supply of ore would also be nice, but it's unnecessary thanks to some recent trade deals with the humans.

There is something wrong with declaring war just to seize resources (glares at followers for the gobbopocalypse). There should be a moral reason. If they're devouring babies, go ahead.

But there should be a reason. Like, say, if they're devouring souls. I consider that a good enough reason to join war. Whereas you didn't consider that war worthy to be joined, because there was no profit for you.

You've discovered nearby marble quarries that you've begun to exploit, giving you a chance to improve your construction skills. You've heard that the Kulargi have advanced their own technology by learning from the eastenr kingdom Paitras, building a bridge across their border river.

We've found that the Ogre camp is not randomly placed there - it is guarding a gold mine! Goblins are working as slaves to the ogres, toiling away in those mines.
The numbers of these ogres have increased since we last sent scouts there and they've started building a palisade around their camp.
What should we do about this?
A.Send emissaries to these ogres
B.Further prepare, train more troops for this
C.Take what forces we have and launch an assault on the ogre camp!
D.Leave it be, there's other matters at hand

There's nothing wrong with declaring war for resources. That's literally how every war started before the modern world.

The demons weren't stealing souls. The contract states that it can not be forced upon a person. The person becomes a demon of their own free will.

It's like judging faggots because they don't like women and aren't normal. Them being faggots has nothing to do with you and it's their choice. Don't like demons.. Don't become one .. Simple as that

And they didn't have living can stick their head out of the water and say hi goddesses of peace in the real world either to say "don't do that."

They are stealing souls when they don't inform those taking the contract that their souls are forfeit when they enter the bargain. For a long time, the demons were propagating and stealing souls based on the deception that "Hey, all you're losing is the ability to have children!"

Surprisingly, our human troops displayed the greatest skill, breaking down the gate with a battering ram. The demons then proceeded to charge in, but found themselves matched in individual combat with the massive ogres, the average size of which is 7 feet, compared to a demon's 6'2" and a human's 5'10". The hoplites then marched in, led by King Wolfe and Great Crow, while the Night Stalkers rallied the demon fighters and devastated the ogres with fire elemental magic.

The ogres have been vanquished and our losses have been few.
What should we do with the goblins now?
There are 400 goblins of all sizes around here, slaves to the ogres. They built and exploited this gold mine for them until now.

A.Kill them off and take all the loot for ourselves
B.Banish them

Alright, alright, let's just agree that demonic contracts are not to be taken lightly, and remember that we're not converting any humans we know of. Plis, with the new information we have regarding our possible origins, we'll be forced to mention the possible loss of soul before we convert anyone. We're all too attractive to argue like this, especially united as we are. Let's just plunder some ogre gold and liberate some gobbos, huh? :)

I think you should change it to this.

You get 1 H per thread, but as long as it's either tightly tied to your theme concept (Like Wave developing a new fish spell, Ulrich making a farming settlement, or the Goblin Trinket Merchant making a trading venture) you automatically succeed.

Obviously not things like Fish spell of Leviathan summoning (unless we dump a lot of power into my temples. :P), or the Goblin Merchant saying "I buy Dragon's Tomb".

I think this will make people think carefully about what they want their faction to do, and cut down on the mindless power up spam.

>>361837
I think the problem with H is that there is a lot of new factions. Back when we were preparing for the civil war every faction would vote H and maybe 2 or 3 anons would vote in general, the the next turn every faction would vote something other than H. Now that there is more faction there is a cycle where half of the factions go H one turn and the other half the next so it seems like the favctions are never picking anything but H.
>>
>>361924
I thought it was that too.
>>
This is nuts and I'm not even Bulgar. Demon bloc, I'm voting whatever you guys do for H for a while. I think we should focus on nation-wide stuff. I'm thinking construction, mostly building space for more population groerh, which will speed everything up overall, rhanks to our solid food surplus. After that, maybe work on getting iron or some fantasy metal to supplant bronze. Demonite, we'll call it! :)

Demon bloc, next turn want to try and make golems since we know enchanting so we wont rely on gobbos to do our manual labor?
>>
>>361959
Oh, and question. What's the religious layout of our colony?

Back in the day when the faction blocs Gobbo-Demon-Human were everything, I was pretty confident in having the human population worshipping me (for protection from demons) what with six factions backing me, but now there's the pantheon to compete with, and my protection doesn't seem as vital, with the peace with the demons.

So, like, who's got most of the people, who's got the least (presumably a few old codgers who still wait for the elementals)?

Is the pantheon growing? Or is it struggling?
>>
>>362005
Shit, never thought of that. That'd solve LOADS of problems, but golemancy is complicated shit. We can try combining our rolls and using the academy, I guess. Fire magic might help.
OR we could press the dark magic and try for necromancy, which would probably be easier, but zombies aren't as good as workers as golems.

Solution is simple, we have the goblins make and service the golems! Plus, they won't be all that smart, so more complicated tasks like scouting and combat and mining for delicate things like gems and precious metals will still be goblin-led. No reason the gobbos will have to go hungry, golem tech can benefit all!
>>362101
I agree strongly, but I think we got scrolls or something from the far eastern kingdom. I'm not worried about books, it will be easy enough to do. Couple turns and they'll be done. Golems, on the other hand, are a hell of an endeavor.

For such small people they sure can eat and drink a lot! After spending a night at Lakefound they travelled to Dragonstomb where they were invited to the King's Hall for supper.
Their leader is a lass named Ondala.
"So, Ondala, tell us about your home"
"Us halflings come from beyond that forest we just passed. We live in hills, plains and on the sunset coast. We live simple and comfortable lives, working the fields and enjoying all the little pleasures there are. We rarely fight and that's mostly against passing ogres. Slings and bows take care of those."
"We don't have a Kingdom like you do here. Towns are independent from each other, some have villages that work with them exclusively. We make fine clothes, pottery, food and drinks. Here, we brought some with us - this is called wine. Made from a fruit called grapes."
Basic information is shared for a while until the main topic comes at thand.
"The thing is, there's a reason we left home. A dragon has taken residence atop Big Hill. His powers allow him to make the earth quake and he is very strong. He demands tribute from us regularly - food, golden trinkents, sometimes when he's unhappy he goes out and kidnaps a young lad or lass."

"We're looking for help to get rid of that dragon. No army's going to be able to do that, though - he lives underground in a major cave complex. We need the help of strong warriors - not many, but strong, quick and smart. The underground is his domain, but there's no other way. There's several ways in and out of there, he is unafraid of us halflings and frankly we aren't brave enough to try anything."
"What say you, good people?
Will you help us?"

An offer to join on an adventure to slay a mighty Earth Dragon. You may send your faction leader or a champion/family member to help along if you wish, provide material help or just wish the halflings good luck.
"If we can't find enough help here we'll keep going east, where humans live"

This is all from me today. If you want to commit something or someone to this adventure, you have plenty of time to consider until the next thread. Untill then, I'm off. I'll check this thread out and there's always my twitter @conannister where I post when a new thread is up.

I'd like to send some of the best archers and legionaries. I want to coat their shields in metal.
>>
Hey all, I'm new to this board but have been wanting to try this out. It seems pretty interesting.

I read over the pastbin text, but feel like even with that info, I'm still way out of my depth in terms of how to create a kosher faction, and what info I need to know in terms of current events and mechanistically how this works.
I'm a pretty quick learner, but I don't want to irritate people. Any suggestions?
>>
>>363491
Most of the rules are explained in the pastebin. When you start a faction you pick what kind of faction do you want. It can be a merchant one, maybe a faction which focuses on the military, just be creative and thunk of a faction you would like to play. When you decide that you think if a backstory for you faction, their name, what do they want and you make a nice intriduction post. You also have assets, you can add whatever you want as long as it is with in our technology reach and if it is cannon, for example you cant have an assets like an iron mine since the while civilisation doesnt have the technology(also dont go overboard with your assets, make it balanced). For the Faction Project you state what you widh to do and then roll, the roll determinates if you Faction Prokect is succeslfull, you can do a Faction Project every two turns and if you do choose the faction project you can't vote for anything else( that means you cant pick H in one turn and also pick C for example). Before you start playing as a faction you need to get a greenlight from Bulgar. And the most important rule is to have fun :)
>>
>>363491
>>363501
Thanks for the information.
One last question. Should I pick a race that is listed in the civ summary at the beginning of the thread i.e. Human, Goblin, or Demon? Or can I choose something new with the idea being that my village would be discovered and integrated into the story.
>>
>>363525
You could pick any race, but their is already lot of goblins and demons faction so it's best to go human. But new thread we could get Fordo in our Civ.
I'm the King btw. :^)
>>
>>363525
You need to pick a race that is cureently a part of our Civ ( Humans,Demons and Goblins) if you want to have an impacr on choices. We have discovered the halflings and we are currentky on a quest to slay a Dragon if we succed the halflings might join us and open up another race. You could make a faction based on an unknown race but you wont be able to vote on civ advancements, and who knows when that race you picked will join our civ.
>>
>>363525
>>363535
I am not 100% sure, you would have to ask bulgar to know for sure what race you can pick(aside the 3 already in the civ)
>>
>>363525
I think you should go Halfling faction next thread maybe since nobody else is Halfling.
Since we're gonna help them cut down a dragon we might get to vassalize them.
But you can join any race.
Gobbos own only mines and a few villages.
Demons Own the lordsip of Nayte and are mostly craftsmens.
Humans own a lot of mines and most holds, they also are the majority and the king is Human.
Halfling who may of may not join our civ have multiple villages and apparently makes wine and are good at agriculture.
Otherwise just name some asset a name for your faction and some of their activities, if it's believable and fair, Bulgar will most likely highlight it.
>>
>>362267
>>362134

Gobocide when?
>>
>>363551
Sounds like a plan, I'll keep lurking until ep. 5 ic created or until the halflings join up, assuming they do. If not I'll go with humans, but I tend to like more unique/exotic options.

I'll be thinking about a good/reasonable set up.
>>
>>363604
Glad to have you along. Now, that doesn't mean you can't vote on what we do every turn, it only means you can't do faction related stuff.
>>
>>363647
Thanks, I'm trying to peruse the prior thread to get a feel for how things are done. I really dig this sort of thing, high-story content and civ building/development.

Something I was thinking about if I do end up taking the opportunity to go with a halfling faction;
From they're presented in this thread and on the race sheet, they seem to be limited/vulnerable in combat while also not appearing to be the ambitious type.
What can their ability in diplomacy/culture really impact? Would I be doomed to simple having more and more farms and sleepy villages while being forced to rely on hiding if attacked (and in particular danger in combat settings?)
>>
>>363669
I'm sure if you pick halfling you be fine and if you want you could hire the blood clan as guards or as trainers to help you train soldiers.
>>
>>363669
Since halflings are excelent diplomats you can make a halfling clan which has really good diplomats, maybe giving you as a faction and us as a civ better diplomacy and better trade agreements. Well you could manifacture wine halflings are good farmers but you can do other things with them. You can own mines but hire goblina to work in them, and you could hire some soilders from the warrior factions to be your guards, also you could maybe live togheter with humans in a town.
>>
>>363669
Halflings have allot of potential to monopolize allot of fields, as their basically naïve village folk with a penchant for food. As far as military goes, you shouldn't expect much. But that doesn't mean you can participate in battles, no matter your race you can still roll and decide to what we do.
>>
>>363689
>>363691
Thanks for the advice, I'll also try to be creative in coming up with solutions/workarounds these challenges as well.
It's just that I hadn't really seen as concrete of an application for diplomacy compared to infastructure, growth etc. since the onus is more on us to create compelling dialogue.
But these are all good thoughts and I am already thinking about options myself. Looking forward to jumping in with you all.
>>
>>363695
Dude if Halfing make wine, they'd likely found some drunkard soldiers or mercenaries to help them for alcohol and a few wolfmarks.
plus Halfling are small so you could find boars or some other animals to use as mounts.
exemple (with monkey but you get the concept):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWOF5UXQekg
Otherwise you could simply do halfling stuff and use terrain as your advantage, Halfling soldiers could be reknowned for use of camouflage in their tactics.
Finally to make Halflings workfocusing on culture could be fine, worshipping fertility deity or merry gods could make sense and being the kind of civilisation to have a feast for every month.
Later on you could also play an heavy role if we get technology.
I bet every engineer in WW1 and WW2 hoped that the soldiers would be 1 meter high to make just about everything bigger and have smaller more agile planes.
Your role as of right now might be small but Halflings are a race with a lot of potential for the late game I feel.
>>
>>363821
Interesting thoughts about mechanics and roles in the latter portion of the game, never really considered that.
I can definitely see how wine manufacturing added to their already strong diplomacy could help with establishing allies, paid protection etc.
I was also thinking about working to develop defensive structures in halfling villages that would offer escape routes, hiding spots/concealment (given their ability to hide), as well as defensive capabilities that would avoid forcing the villagers to engage in direct combat (watch posts, guard towers, bunkers etc.)
>>
>>363837
Since were still fairly low tech if worst comes to worse you could just have halflings learn vietnam tier tactics to just completely destroy an attackers moral.
>>
Thread will be here, in an hour or less. Don't want to flood the catalog, we'll go past the bump limit fast, but who cares.
>>363837
We'll have an adventure portion at first today, so you can start as some of those halfling adventurers our civilization just met - they'll be part of the Dragon Hunt and if things go well, you will later be able to take on an entire halfling faction from there when we return to strategic play.
>>
>>363851
Great, thanks for having me along. A little wary of jumping into such a serious scenario, but I gotta learn sometime, eh?
>>
Hopefully we'll find an enemy civ sometime
>>
>>363837
I did give little more thought about the realism of having halfing into planes, you guys probably have less Blood and a less powerful heart when i thought about it so G force might be more deadly but since you're smaller the pressure needed for blood to reach the head or certain part of the body is probably less than that of a human.
So maybe you guys can reach more than 9 G substained endurance with g-suits.
I think that overall the realism of having you guys into plane do make sense if you do cardio like normal pilots.
The main concern I'm having is if gunners inside tanks will be able to load guns.
Sometimes with Artillery and other shell loaded Guns, people needed to go elbow deep into the barrel with a heavy shell to load the artillery.
Maybe we will just use a human gunner and have halflings in the other positions.
Overall i'm happy that if our civilisation reach modern war and technology we'll have a lot more options due to differences in physiologies.
Just think of the endless possibilities.
>CHILD SIZED SOLDIERS
>>
The sheer amount of thought you've put into considering the realities of having halfling pilots is staggering and a little baffling haha

Ondala is happy with all the enthusiasm that she's recieved from our people. The King's Hall is now full to bursting with people who want to join in this adventure.
The halflings have shown us the maps of their lands and we've combined those with our own.
It's late spring now, year 97.

We must assemble a band of adventurers for this great Dragon Hunt!
The Earth Dragon Suhkamuk is said to be about 50 meters long and to posess very hard scales and earth magic. He has been terrorising the halflings for a decade now and some of them have had enough - a party of a dozen brave halflings are led by Ondala - as far as halflings go, they are some of their best warriors.
Now it is time to give them our support - if you wish to.
The Dragon's Lair lies within the mountain and a large army would be ineffective. At most 40-50 people could be assembled for this raid and have it still be efficient.
A dozen halflings are already pledged.

To all factions - will you join in the Dragon Hunt and if yes, with what? A champion, your leader, supplies?
Give me exact numbers in terms of manpower if you're sending people. If it's supplies, just some estimate without numbers.
If you are not leader of a faction, design yourself a hero character of one of the four races - halfling(part of the party), human, demon or goblin. You can still take part in this adventure!

Example:
>Clan civbul
>Sending our champion, the fighter Bikk - he uses an axe and has strong bronze armor
or
>The hero Dyrg - strong human archer from Firsthold
or
>Clan Shekmeister
>Sending food supplies and some coins
>>
Just a heads up, I'll have to be more or less afk for 15 or so minutes an hour from now. Is that going to be alright?
>>
>>364093
>Clan Erden
>Sending Clan leader Ulrich "Bronzehand" along with a few dosen hired soldiers to follow the Dragon King into battle, and sending lots of food suplies
>>
>>364093
I will be sending supplies and try to acquire Dragon bones and dragon scale gear for our best warriors.
I also intend on Sending a Scribe who shall not take part in the fight but record all that happened there for furture generation.
He will manage supplies as well to stay useful and fight if things turn really bad.
>>
>>364095

>>364093

>>
>>364105
Dude you should get yourself a Halfling hero.
>>
>>364105
Do you want to participate as a hero character or will you just be cheering on?
If you want to join in, write up a description of your character. You can abandon him/her afterwards if you want to be anon. For the adventure you would have to have a name
>>
>>364101
You should know, we can't afford to bring a lot of troops into the Dragon's Lair itself.
What does your Leader look like, what are his skills/experience and what is he armed with?
If you want some of your boys to come along in the Lair, you'll have to select at most two of them (give them names and get emotionally attached to them, he he he)
>>
>Ondala with the 11 halflings in tow.
I'd like to place a requisition for bows/arrows, short swords, 2 torches and food supplies adequate for the trip.

Great Crow Clan
Great Crow sends Himself along with His Great Axe and His Great Muscles also He sends His Great Huntress Elnora along with her Great Bow.
>>
Guys are we sending in the King?
He has Dragon Armor and a Dragonbone Greatsword.
Should he keep the sword and send a champion without it, send a champion with the gear or go there himself for glory and the most risky and glorious political decision ever?
>>
>>364093
>Mutt Clan
> Sending our leader the Mutt and half a dozen of men with each their own horses. Most of them are armed with bows and arrows and the leader with a spear and a shield.
>>

The King will be leading the assault.
>>
>>364117
I'm a little wary that without something like this bone sword (although I'm not clear on exactly what its properties are) we may run into trouble piercing its scales.
>>
>>364093
I will be forging masterfully made armour and weapons for the demons that go. They will be enchanted to enhance the magical power of the mages while the warriors will get anything that would enhance their physical abilitys. From earlier we confirmed scorch of the blood clan would go along with a couple mages from the demon league.

I will also send one of my craftsmen to ensure that their gear is maintained and we get our share of the dragon.

Equipment will also be sold to the other clans should they pay the adequate price.
>>
Also is there anything we can use to distract, or temporarily blind/disorient it? It may get a little intense with it keenly focused on us in a cavern.
>>
>>364120
I'm pretty sure endoskeletons will always be more sturdy than exoskeletons for most creatures.
That's why i'm trying to get Dragon bones for this.
We already slayed a Dragon and i'm sure that using Dragon Bones will be very useful.
Also judging from Bulgar's pic the other dragon was pretty big so his bones must have been as well, you can likely sculpt 10 Great swords from one the biggest bones in it.And a good amount of arrow tips from the smaller bones in the wings and the joints.

Insect are small and as such don't need internal structures to maintain stability of their muscles and organs inside their Endoskeletons.

Leader looks like pic related, just with a bronze sword and armor crafted by demons. He has training as an shaman and has acces to Earth magic, he is expirienced in sword fighting and has the standard military training for the rest. His is armed with a Bronze sword by the name of " The Harvest" wich has been masterfully crafted by demons from Nayte. He also has two companions Kishmir and Salazar. The yhave similiar equipment as Ulrich but Kishmir is an master of the spear while Slazar is one of the best Marksman in the Kingdom. Also briging food suplies to cover 250~300 for a couple of weeks.

>Sending our best fire mage, Lucius, armed with the best bronze armor forged by master demon smiths, as well as a bronze shortsword and large circular shield.
He also has a potent potion to allow his fire magic to really shine (unaided he can do basic DnD fireball shit), but since we've neglected the fuck out of fire magic research, it's as likely to work as it is to turn him into a one man napalm strike.
>>
Also, I'm assuming/hoping these halfling warriors that I'm playing the role of will come outfitted with some kind of fitted armor from their village. I'm just not sure what they have at their disposal.

Here some fluff and not that I saw you say I can bring two people with me.

Wolfe was been Chieftain since he was 20 overseeing it's growth and expending.
Now that he is King and reached the ripe age of 46 he knows that his time will come. But inkstand of dying of old age he was a personal goal to earn the title of Dragon King.

During his life he was kept his rule peaceful, while their almost a civil war. He didn't want to go to war as it will hurt not only his clan but the whole kingdom as a whole.
When he not looking at what is being build, or expended he takes time to train his skills with the sword and shield. When he is not being a king for the day, or training he pray the gods, and spend time with his lovely family, hoping his son can also be king one day.

When the halflings came to ask for help to slain a dragon he jump at the chance. The demons wanted to help the king in anyway they could, so they deiced to reinforcement both his sword and dragon bone.
Because he is going to fight the dragon his asked his three companions he childhood friends who both want to see the glory of battle to come. All of them Radulf, Agapios, and Candace deiced to come, before this they were Wolfe personal bodyguard training everyday to protect the king.

Radiulf used a axe and shield both from bronze reinforced by the demons. Candace was a skilled shot with the bow, and had a sword to back her up. Agapios wanted to learn magic when the priest showed up so he did. He is skilled in the words of the gods and their magic. All of which are wearing top of line clothes reinforce by demons.

>The king also will supply the trip giving food. and water as we travel.

A.Head straight for Big Hill by land(about two weeks travel)
B.Go by ship to Semport first(4-5 days until we reach it,another 10 or so days from there)
C.Travel to Laekam by land first(8 days until we get there, another week until Big Hill IF we don't stop)

Sent a champion, since the king is basically just a fucking nerd, but there's no risk of him exploding. Worst case scenario, he just can't control all the fire and ends up torching the shit out of whatever he's in front of. He himself, will be fine, but I can dilute them if it really bugs you.
>>
>>364244
I think you need to know how to use magic beforehand to actually use the power from the potions. So only the one guy in you're party that knows magic could use it I think.
>>
>>364250
The King basicly want to go in Blaze of glory or get called Dragon slayer so that he still get respect when he gets older.
Also you still need magical knonledge to use spells, but being magic charged surely will help anyway.
Maybe he can channel the magic through His Dragonbon Greatsword.
>>
Taking one of the dragonblood potions does pretty much nothing for you if you aren't a trained shaman.
>>
>>364262
That's because only shamans worked with thoses potions.
Maybe giving it to a Badass with a Dragonbone greatsword fighting a Dragon might yield different results.

The king is not a nerd, m8 he comes from the Godric Clan that values strength but also the same time wits. It's my blaze of glory to be remember throughout the ages.

We take the trireme, the Proud Bull, to Semport. With Wave and Gyolas' blessings, our journey along the coast is swift and without incidents.
We sailed off on a cold morning and arrived three days later just before sunset.
We've arrived at Semport, one of the five halfling towns and the largest port in the regions - the halflings mostly build fishing boats and a few small cargo ships that can sail down rivers.
Two and a half thousand halflings live in and aorund the town, mostly engaged with fishing, crafts and some farming.
Each of the five towns is independent from the others and is governed by a mayor and his council, elected by whoever bothers to show up on elections.
The town has a marketplace near the docks, a town hall and a place the locals call an inn - a resting house that offers beds, food and drinks to travelers.
The sun is going down so we'll find lodgings - the inn won't have enough beds for the entire party, so at least half will stay in the ship.

What should we do in the morning?
A.Head to the markets, find goods and information to purchase
B.Head to the town hall and meet with the mayor and his council, try to get their support
C.Rest for a day, let our people roam around and have fun
D.All of the above, split up in groups
E.No time to waste, we leave the town now

King Wolfe and his bodyguards meet the mayor. Courtesies are exchanged, but the halflings, being small people, like to do a lot of small talking. Eventually it gets to the point.
The Earth Dragon will visit a village or town somewhere once or twice a week, so that means he passes by Semport twice a year to take food, treasures and captives.
There's only been two cases of resistance against Suhkamuk in all these years from any halflings and the answer was painful death and destruction of everything in the vicinity,
The mayor has provided us with his ring, which can be shown to any other mayor to confirm his support for our cause.
We've been given access to free lodgings, food and drinks for the next two days in Semport.
At the market, our goblin and demon friends perused the stores. Halflings produce a number of plant and animal products, the variety in alcoholic beverages is truly inspiring - not just beer and wine, but also whiskey and something called moonshine, which the farmers and herders out in the hills like to make.
Trinkets from precious metals and gems are produced, but rarely sold, as they are given as tribute to the dragon.
Slavery is a taboo in these lands, sometimes ogres from the south take halflings as slaves, apparently.
The halflings seem to have worshipped the Old Gods back in the day as well, but have mostly given up on religion - only one very old shaman lives in this town and he's never seen the true power of the elements outside of the Earth Dragon. His father taught him magic, but he's never been able to cast any spells, though he has diligently kept practicing and still remembers everything about Earth magic he was taught. Porust, that's his name, was never able to get an apprentice in all his 72 years of life and will likely die alone and forgotten, a relic of a past age. He still keeps fit, making regular trips outside the town to collect herbs for old remedies that are sometimes sought after.

We've rested for a day, what should we do now? YOU CAN CHOOSE SEVERAL
A.Take the old halfling shaman, Porust, with us
B.Spend another day resting
C.Head for Laekam
D.Head straight for Big Hill

>B.Spend another day resting
It is best to rest, also old people are crazy as fuck when it come to fighting when they know they've got nothing to lose.
And since he's a mage he might pull the magicsplosion suicide.
>>
Most definitely A, he has knowledge of earth magic which could be critical in the battle, he's still fit..and let's give him a bit of adventure, give him a chance to feel valuable.

A and B. That bloody ship bruised my left dagger-ear. Also It is odd that these folks sell no trinkets, the Glorious Trinket Merchant will be pleased to know
>>
>>364375
And while we take the time to rest, let's start talking to the old shaman. It was stated that he's seen the dragon's magic first hand, what can he tell us about what we will be up against? Is there anything insightful that he noticed with he vast knowledge of earth magic that could help up defend against the dragon.

Wait that mean were gonna get rich as fuck.
he has loot.

>>

It should only be customary that the majority of the trinkets go to The Glorious Trinket Merchant, as in his glorious wisdom, he has funded this expedition and sent me to aid the hunt
>>
Rolled 52 (1d100)

We've taken the time to rest and talk with the shaman. In the olden days his ancestors used Earth magic to help the farmers work the land and to protect miners from cave-ins and such things. Halflings would pray to the elements and sometimes sacrifice animals, but after the dissaperance of the Old Gods 97 years ago the halfligns also lost their magic.
We've given him a couple of dilluted potions - at least once in his life, Porust will have the chance to cast the spells he has been practicing for 60 years.
We've taken the second day of free rest and have now set off towards Lakeam.
>>
>>364392
>>364401
The trinkets should be given to the Royal treasury.
>>
>>364414
Our journey was rather uneventful, passing through a couple of farms. The major halfling towns have dirt roads connecting them, while the other settlements are more isolated.
Arriving at Lakeam, we see the largest and most prosperous halfling town - a population of 4 500, including the lake island, where the richer halflings live.
The mayor has recognized the ring of Semport and will give us free lodgings, food and drinks for two days as well.
What should we do with each of the days?(Day 1, X, day 2, Y, day 3 Z)
A.Gather information
B.Rest up
C.Head off
>>
>>364415
How dare you, the trinkets should be returned to the halflings who crafted them in hopes to keep their lives!
These are simple farmers and craftsmen in humble villages, they deserve to have their trinkets returned to them.

>>

Since if we win azleast some halflings will become part of our kingdom the trinkets could be uaed to pay for the better defences of halfing towns to asure that there will be no more attacks where the halfings are caught unprepared. And the trinkets left over can be split by the factions as >>364430 suggested.
>>
>>364437

Yes, if we succeed in our mission to put an end to the dragons reign of terror over the halflings, it can stand as something that could unite the disparate towns under a new era.
In that event, it is my goal to work towards the unification of halflings and the betterment of our society, but we have been killed, taken captive and our goods have been taken at every turn for years. We will need the trinkets to try to rebuild, and to start anew.

We took some time to rest on the first day, some of our party getting rather drunk with the free wine, more popular in these parts than it is in Semport.

On the second day we looked for information.
We've learned of the path into the Dragon's lair - he resides in a large cave complex within the mountain that the halflings call Big Hill.
He is between 40 and 50 meters long and can use his magic to alter the shape of the mountain itself, through which he has made a defensible lair for himself.
His scales are tough, but on some parts of his body they are weaker and can be exposed.
Two local earthen shamans, both in their 50s, have joined our party, seeking to put their skills to use.
With our preparations ready, we marched off to Big Hill. At the base of the mountain, with the help of the two shamans we could find in Lakeam, Porust has scribed a map of the lair's layout.
The dragon guards his treasure hoard at the end of a widened chamber, while at its front he keeps his food. To get there we have to pass through tighter tunnels, where at most 10 humans could stand side by side.
What should we do? It is day and we stand in front of the lair's entrance.
A.Wait until nightfall before sneaking in
B.Go in carefully, halflings and goblins in front
C.Go in boldly, demons and humans in front
D.Other plan
>>
>>364489
So you're me were not allowed to profit from a dragon WE killed? A split of the trinkets is only fair to both us and the half ling's.

>>
>>364516
B.

Ahaha, luckily Foreman Swift-Hands has arrived. Though not the biggest he is very sneaky and adept at moving through the darkness of caves and is armed with a wicked blade coated in feces to make any wound fester.
>>
>>364565
Fucking how? In didn't know dragons had opposable thumbs to assemble equipment!
>>
>>364564
That would make a lot of noise and will likely wake up the dragon if he is sleeping. But its a good startegy to counter his cave shifting by making our shamans counter whatever he does.
>>
>>364565
>He maybe booby trapped the cave.
Oh yes he cautiously crafter human sized traps with his huge wings, and since he's a earth dragon we can likely expect the inidana jones music to roll in any second now.
More seriously it's a dragon, it big fat and tough to kill it's not subtle.
>>
>>364561
But their a chance if we wait for nightfall the dragon, may decide it's time to go get more loot from the halflings.
So while we're camping out outside he has a chance depending on the dice gods to fly away to get more loot from the halfings are stay asleep.

>>
>>364573
>>364575
Not conventional booby traps. Maybe some loose stones that will fall on our heads, maybe he can detect our movements, thats why we decied to go by sea in the first place.
>>
We'll try to go in carefully - the halfling and goblins in our party are smaller, more can move shoulder-to-shoulder and they can attempt to sneak in and scout out the area better.
Goblin or halfling players, give me a total of 3 1d100s for sneaking. Average is the result

I'd like to inject there for a second. What you're refering to as Goblin, is in fact, Greeniggas, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Gobbos.
Gobbo are not valuable themself, but rather another component of a fully functioning mine economy made useful by the Kingdom, utilities and vital system components comprising a full Society as defined by the crown.
Many peasant use a modified version of the mining system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of gobbos which is widely used today is often called goblins, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the greeniggers, developed by the evil gods.

The dragon let out a roar of pain after his right eye was taken away. Ondala managed to get away to a safe distance to avoid his rampage.
"MORTALS! YOU SHALL SUFFER FOR THIS"
Enraged, the dragon's blood is boiling. A demonic fireball that hit him powered him even further. He was ready to unleash his power. He swatted several of the mortals away, crushed some under falling rocks. Then he unleashed his magma spell, which burned through many others.

The dragon ruptured from within, splattering the walls of the cave with his insides. Almost nothing is left of his scales and bones, no blood to use for potions.
Our own warband was also devastated.
The only survivors are Centurion and Ondala who are wounded, but will win, Ovgalen who has fallen unconsciouss but is still breathing, Foreman who is nowhere to be seen and Mutt, who stands victorious, his right fist still retaining part of the power from that spell - likely a result of magical enchancement being covered in dragonsblood and dragon organs. His right fist will keep that part of its power forever.
Porust is lying with his back on a wall, wheezing out his last breaths.

You can have separate burial ceremonies, sure.

Primarily, our people rest in the ground, digging graves and marking them with headstones.

We've created a dedicated graveyard near dragonstomb - at a place that overlooks the town and the sea both, our Kingdom's finest shall be laid to rest.
If you want you can bury your deceased heroes in your own faction places, but the Field of Eternal Glory shall remain for those other heroes of ours.

King Wolfe's bone armor was destroyed during the battle, but the Dragonbone crown was recovered, it had fallen off his head before he died.
>>365313
Almost nothing was left of the dragon after it got Dragon Punched and exploded. Its skull has been recovered and can be used as a trophy, but there's not enough materials for other stuff.

Ondala has returned to her home, Meadowset, where she has been hailed as the greatest halfling hero of all time. It seems no one knows of the old shaman who made it all possible...

Pushing rumble of from himself Foreman Swift-Hands clears his head. What happened? Did we win? Ah well that is good.
>>
>>365552
who gets the first of these iron armaments ?
>>
>>365578
That depends if we found Iron, which I think we did. I will go to the King first supplies the soilders then later the weapons get stockpiled and the factions get it from their.
Fair.
>>
>>365588
If its not too much trouble could I have the second armaments forged my previous set was destroyed fighting with the dragon.
>>
>>365598
If you need armour simply come to us for a new set of bronze, it'll last you until we get iron to forge with.
>>365588
This depend on who finds the iron, and whether our forges can smelt it without this "volcano forge" to rely on.
>>
>>365626
It just a idea, but that lava sure does get hot, and in history people even if they discovered Iron they couldn't smelt it until the forge tech improved. This forge is just in case if your forge can't smelt it or should you like a easier time.

If their no tech to make forges that can smelt iron, and only volanco forge can do it. It'll be useful to the civ as a whole, since the goblins can use it for picks, humans and halflings farming tools, etc.

Since I think discovering a forge through tech will take time, since we're in the early bronze age.
>>
>>365656
so we can only get iron tool by using the forge at the volcano
>>
>>365656
It really wont be that hard to just discover the way people smelted iron and steel if we haven't gone that far yet into it. Especially considering theres facilities to smelting in dragons hall and Nayte. Its up to everyone else though if they want to make the magma forge.
>>
>>365676
That seems to be the case until Bulgar clears it up. But this is the most likely reason. So until we build the forge we may never know.
That why I'm asking it to be build next thread to allow us to have early assess to iron since we'll be using lava to smelt metals with.
Just sounds like a good idea.
>>
>>365692
I'm just giving the option that will take the least amount of time to get to smelt iron. It's up to the anons and the other factions to choose that in the next thread. For now I'm going to sleep.
>>
I am very happy with my life decision of running from that battle.
>>
Theres a sky forge at IronHall
Since Ironhall is on a mountain

>>
>>365696
>lava temperature vary in between 700C° and 1200C°
>Iron melt at 1510C° , steel mostly around 1370C°
Now let's take a metal we know we can probably melt and see it's melting point.
>melting point of cooper is roughly 1083°C and bronze somewhere between 850°C and 1000°C
Now i think it's safe to assume that using lava and some more coal and strong fire, we can surely melt down Iron.
But steel is another deal because it require use of molten carbon for high grade steel and carbon melt around at 3600°C or 6512°F which is insanely high.
But the surprise is that people had the technology to produce steel since early as 1800 BC which is pretty fucking old, Noric steel was used in the Roman military.
The worst thing is that we can make higher quality grade than this because we have a volcano and we have a sea nearby , meaning we can endlessly make Quench-hardened Steel using only Iron by mixing it with non pure Iron with carbon inside it.
Their forges only reached 1802°C, we can already melt cooper at about 1100°C meaning we only need about 700°C to reach this temperature.
And a volcano often produce well above 700°C with lava.
So Tl;DR
The Godric DragonForge will not only be able to forge Iron, It will also be able to produce Steel without even needing a retrofit.
>>
>>366464
Also the best thing about this is that within around 5 years of dicovering iron we'll likely discover steel as well.
Since the first kind of Steel was made by mixing "pig Iron" and Iron which any Apprentice smith might do as what he would believe to be fucked up mix but actually create a stronge metal.
Also rapidly cooling an alloy is possible since we're on Island and there's water all around.
So we can likely have the best weapon and armor technology in this plane, all thanks to discorvering that volcan.
>>
>>365588
>>365707
I think that the forge should become an asset od clan Godrick but the metals and iron forged there should be for the whole kingdom. So clan Godrick owns the forge but fotges metal for the whole kingdom to use.
>>
>>366479
It on our own alliance but we'll Gladly gift the metal to the crown.
It is our duty ensure the security of the realm, and a stronger armor and a stronger sword will surely get us support from the troops so we'd be fools to make the crown pay for it.
Though if we are to gift the metal we would like help to Invest in the construction of such a forge.
Such a big project will require a lot of man power and will likely require us to vote C.
Which will also mean we'll have to choose between roads to the hafling land or the Forge.
But i'll leave it to the people to decide which project they deems more urgent.
>>
>>366483
I'd rather not worry about halflings right now.
C is best option

Currently our architectural level is comparable to pic related. Also, Iron Hill is located in the plains, not the mountains. The hexagons I use on maps mark fortresses. Yours has stone walls, towers, gates and an interior - it's not huge, but it's the sturdiest purely-military construction in our Kingdom. Also, I don't remember any Sky Forge being built there, settlements have smithies, of course, but the only exceptionally good ones are in Nayte and Dragonstomb AFAIR
In regards to iron, I will anounce it when we find the tech for ironworking. Don't get to ahead of yourselves, we were relying on copper a hundred years ago. Iron will come within the next half-century, probably.
No iron yet though.
