First thread: >>282271
Second thread: >>294792
A deathwatch kill-team has boarded a space hulk known as the Ultrix Imperator, with the intention of purging the genestealers that reside in it and recovering a mysterious artifact known as the Igne Consumptis. A skull that is golden on one end, and black on the other.
You are Brother Thorim of the Space Wolves. Clad in terminator armor and wielding thunder claws, you are a force to be reckoned with, but you have to get close to your enemy to be effective.
In the last thread, you finally managed to kill the broodlord, but Brother Elecarius' armor is no longer effective, meaning he will be susceptible to actual damage that could threaten his life.

New thread woot!
The kill-team:
The kill team:
Brother Lo'van of the Salamanders. He has deployed in terminator armor, along with a heavy flamer and a power fist.
Brother Elecarius of the Imperial Fists. He is a devastator marine, and has deployed with a heavy bolter.
Brother Barrattiel of the Ultramarines. He is an apothecary equipped with his narthecium and a plasma pistol.
Brother Alis Irae of the Blood Angels. He is a librarian, and has deployed with a force sword and a bolt pistol. He has multiple psychic abilities.

Inventory:
A talisman-like object. Could possibly be a key.

>>306801
You head over to the doors to open them, but they do not budge.
"They're locked," you utter to Brother Alis Irae, who suddenly lights up.
"Wait, the hole in the middle of the door!" He takes out the "talisman" and puts it in the slot. The sound of a thousand gears can be heard, and the door suddenly opens, revealing a dark corridor.

>>Traverse the corridor.
>>306894
The kill-team traverses the corridor. It is a long walk. You could barely see ahead of you. The only noise you could hear was the sound of your fellow battle-brothers' metallic feet.
You approach another set of doors. They open automatically, but slowly. The dust collected from the top falls onto your helmet. You can hear Irae chuckle behind you.
There it was. A skull lays on a small table in front of you; golden on the left, completely black on the right; just like the description. Brother Alis Irae approaches it, but suddenly stops.
"Just as I thought," he utters. "Chaos."
He gazed upon the Chaos star that has been carved into the table. The Consumptis was indeed a Chaos artifact. Everyone gathered around him.
"It's time to leave," Lo'van says, breaking the silence.
>Leave with the Igne Consumptis

>Leave with the Igne Consumptis
At the very least, we can get our armor repaired before we do this again.
>>307014
>>"Wait, we need to do something before we go." (Specify what you want)
can we have the librarian do a psynescience check to see if there's anything around us waiting for an ambush?
>>307028
>>307032
"We can't go yet."
"Why not?" Irae asks.
"We need to know whether or not an ambush is waiting for us outside of these doors."
Irae nods and closes his eyes. You wait patiently until he begins to speak.
"The genestealers have gathered outside the doors. Ready to attack. We walk out. We fight the genestealers, but each one of us is murdered. One by one..."
"How do we prevent this?"
"By preparing."
He grips his powersword tightly, ready to jump into the maelstrom of battle once again. Brother Elecarius straightens his back as Lo'van raises his flamethrower. Barrattiel adjusts his narthecium.
"Well, brothers," he says. "Let's get to the the stormraven."
>Fight your way towards the stormraven. Roll a 1d20. 10 or higher is successful.

You move through the space hulk, sustaining even more damage. Lo'van is attacked from behind. He loses 2 AP. He currently has 4/10 AP.
"I'm throwing a grenade!" Elecarius yells from behind. He throws it across the corridor, blowing up the genestealers, giving you room to move.

I'm noticing that the first roll is always worse than the second.
You keep getting hit, you don't know how many more hits you can take. Lo'van loses 2 AP. He has 1/10 AP left.
You're almost to the next floor. Keep fighting!

Brother Alis Irae summons lightning from his fingertips, devastating the advancing genestealer forces.

Lo'van's terminator armor is finally pierced. He loses his last AP point now. He will have to rely on Barrattius if he takes anymore damage.
Brother Alis Irae summons a golden spear and throws it into the midst of the genestealers, decimating each one of them. The kill-team then bursts through the door to the hangars, only to be greeted by the patriarch itself.
It lets out a mighty roar, then begins to slowly approach you. It was definitely angry, and will not show mercy.
>Fight the patriarch. Finish this. It has 5 LP, but it also has genestealers on his side. Roll a 1d20. 10 or more is successful.

Hold on guys, I'm going to test something.
>>307655
"Shield us, Irae," you say. "No genestealer will be left alive on this ship."
The golden shield goes up. The kill-team is protected.
The patriarch charges towards you, but is stopped by the thousands of bolt's sent from Elecarius. The patriarch loses 1 LP. Genestealers were coming in from the rotunda.
The shield has 2 AP.
The broodlord has 4/5 AP.

>>307702
I should mention that if you get a lower than 10 on one die and a higher than 10 on the other when rolling a 2d20, then you will both inflict damage AND be attacked.

The genestealers attack the shield. It loses 1 AP, but the Patriarch is hit by Barrattiel's plasma pistol.

any more grenades?
>>307748
Brother Lo'van tries to use his flamer on the genestealers, but for some reason it doesn't work, giving the genestealers time to finally destroy the shield. However, in a vertical slice, you are able to injure the patriarch. It loses 1 LP. It currently has 2/5 LP left.
>Attack the genestealers and the patriarch. Roll a 2d20 (Not a 1d20) 10 or higher on either dice is successful

Irae casts the Shield again, and Lo'van tries again with the heavy flamer. Genestealers targeted.
>>307778
>>307788
Elecarius throws his grenade at the patriarch. It explodes, causing it to lose 1 LP. It screams in agony as you approach it. You stick your claws into it's head, and it goes silent. The genestealers were still alive, however.
Lo'van turns around and begins to burn the advancing genestealers. He gets a lot, but there are a few stragglers.
>Finish this once and for all! Kill the xenos! Roll a 1d20. 10 or more is successful.

You slice through the genestealers, your brothers shooting behind you. You are mad. Not one genestealer is to be left alive, not after what you and your kill-team has been though.
The genestealers lay dead. Not only have you successfully recovered the Igne Consumptis, but you have also exterminated the foul xenos that resided inside the space hulk. You step back into the stormraven, and it takes off.
...
You watch as Barrattiel sticks his narthecium into Brother Lo'van, who had taken his helmet off. He was grinning.
"Well done, brothers," he says. "I'll be honest, I didn't expect to make it back there, with the genestealers coming torwards us... but you, Brother Thorim. You certainly showed them."
You chuckle.
"Besides that," he continues. "Did we ever find out what the Igne Consumptis was?"
"No," Alis Irae says. "But that doesn't matter. What matters is that we have finished the mission.
"What we do know, is that it is a Chaos artifact," Elecarius interrupts.
"Yes, but that is all you will ever know. Do not get your hopes up high if you plan for the Inquisition to tell you everything."
>Do you want to say anything to your battle-brothers?
>>308020
"What are the odds we're dealing with a Radical or a Rogue Inquisitor?"
>>308020
"I'm glad we all got through alive. Let's hope the artifact we fetch later is a more promising one."
>>308055
Such questions are better left to yourself, brother, lest they get you killed.
>>308055
>>308065
"What are the odds of we're dealing with a radical or rogue inquisitor?"
Alis Irae turns around and rests his chin on his hand. He seemed confused. He didn't like the Inquistion anymore than you did, but even he seemed shocked.
"Those questions will get you killed, brother."
You nod, then sigh. "At least we got out alive."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's it. I'll be taking a break from questing for a while. This quest ran for a nice three threads. We didn't explore all of the space hulk, but we did get the mission done, with no casaulties either. Thanks for joining me, it was really fun. See ya later.

Thanks for running!
