Suheil "Tiger" al-Hassan honored for the operation of closing the Akarabat Kotel by Russian general Gerasimov:

Information about joint operation of RF, Iran and Turkey (Astana guarantors) assaulting Nusra in Idleb together has popped up
Russians from Latakia, Iran from Aleppo and Turks from their border. Supposedly.

Terrorists violated the ceasefire in eastern Ghouta, targeting residental districts:

Second day of International Fair in Damas, all hotels booked, lot more people came than expected:

Russian & Syrian bussinessmen were talking in Damas:

The supposed attack in Latakia (claimed by Nusra) was an accident, a civilian had a granade with him (supposedly people carry them around for self defence, sic!) and it exploded killing 2 others:

SDF captured factory of IEDs in Raqqa:

Biggest cable-factory in Damas started working again after a few years:

IS terrorists tried to break the encirclement of Akarabat, Nusra coordinated with them by launching mortar and missile strikes on Army positions (interesting, short-wave radios?)
Thanks to Russian drone monitoring they were not succesful and RuAF dealt with both of these:

>There is "grave concern" in Israel after a delegation of high ranking Israeli defense officials sent to Washington was not able to secure a commitment from the Americans to ensure any agreement to end the war in Syria would include the evacuation of Iranian military forces from the country.

>Israeli intelligence officials said the delegation "presented sensitive, credible and highly disturbing intelligence information," backed by documents and photographs, which showed the ever-growing spread of Iranian influence in Syria.

> The main concern is the deployment of Iranian and Hezbollah forces on the Syrian Golan, on the border with Israel in the space to the southern outskirts of Damascus, in an effort to open another front against Israel if and when an all-out war breaks out.

>Israel plans to send a similar delegation to the Kremlin in an effort to convince Russian President Putin to stop the spread of Iranian influence in Syria as part of the upcoming agreement.

They key difference is that Iran and Russia are not on the West's side, so there is no real reason to side with them if America's there unless you already dislike America enough that you don't care who you're siding with.

If you don't want to side with Saudi Arabia Israel, and you see the US attempts to skirt around their allies as either fake (ie they still want to remove Assad and they're just lying about it) or pathetic (ie their actions are dictated by Saudi and Israel), then yeah, you're probably gonna side with Russia and Iran on this one.

Thing is, Israel and Saudi Arabia are not our enemy. They're backing the wrong side in Syria, but that isn't a good enough reason for me to conclude Iran and Russia should be our friends now, since they don't really want to be and would exploit to the fullest any naive attempts at doing so.

How to deal with that is not an easy question.

I want to say Wahhabi Mosques should be banned, but that would be like banning Nazis - ie, I don't actually believe in doing that, because freedom of speech.

Even if we did, it won't stop Saudis themselves from being radicalized. That can't be changed unless you're prepared to take a crapshot on being successful in a civil war between the Royalists and the Clergy, which woudl still fuck up the world oil trade in the mean time.

>Saramago
Saramago is difficult because he writes as if "he was talking". What I mean is that his style of writing closely follows the way portuguese people talk. You end up with a shitload of pauses and stops in the narrative that are really uncommon, and in other places you can find whole paragraphs whitout a single pause. I think it may be difficult to capture the effect in foreign translations.
But his work is diverse, you have autismo tier works like "Memorial do Convento" (which I didn't like), or great books like The Gospel According to Jesus Christ, or Blindness.

Find something from Eça de Queiróz or Fernando Pessoa. The first is a great novelist (read "The Maias"), while the second is a literal genius madman.

I'd recommend our greatest literary work, but it can only be appreciated in portuguese, unfortunately.

The way i heard it, the fifth corp had very little in the terms of weapons in the begining, there were men with literally their hunting riffles, as the war carried on, they got well armed, either by capturing weapons, getting somehow supplies from other parts that our army held, they got the ones smuggled in humanitarian aid, or they bought it from the serbs. Yes, those volounteir heroes, Arkan, Legija and the rest of them, that serbs would have you belive were the pinicle of honor and serbdom literally sold truck loads of weaponry to Dudakovic, they were nothing but profiteers, there are phone recordings of that, solid evidence

Yes but they also need to able to project beyond their border is their interests are threatened. I know that Russian land mass is large enough that they dont need aircraft carriers to provide cover using ships. But if they want to protect their SLOC and interest beyond their shores they will need such capabilities. Though a case has been made by many that carriers are just tools to bully weaker nations and have little value against bigger powers especially since the Russians have developed hypersonic cruise missiles (Tsirkon cruise missile) and the Chinese AShBM DF-21D and the DF-26

Ahh, those faggots from Kladusa, yea, their preciouss Babo promissed them autonomy if they fight for the serbs, and the faghots followed him, that shit was fucked up, good thing the 5th corp ended up destroying them compleatly, and capturing everyone that didnt die. Genuenly the worst scum of the war. And because Bosnia is fucked up, babo, even tho he served a sentence for warcimes (having his own private prisoner camps, lot of people died in them) a known traitor and the most hated guy by the normal bosnians was allowed to run in the elections few years back as a mayor of kladusa, and he fucking won it and is a mayor now. I dont know every detail of the story, but apparently Fikret Abdic, or babo as they like to call him, was a large firm owner, and maybe a politician, when the war started, he was with us, he wanted to make some sort of deal with Alija, and Alija denied him, apparently, juging from words by Sefer (i think he said it) Alija was in the wrong, but babo became very mad, he left Sarajevo, and made a deal with the serbs, they would give his small pice of land an authonomy if he fought for them. "The authonomous region of west Bosnia" it was supposed to be called, and he fought together with the serbs against 5th corp of Bosnian army. He was used like a puppet by your army, his army got eventually destroyed when 5th corp encircled them at their last stand on some hill. Dudakovic called for them to surrender or die, first they refused, then Dudakovic fiered an artillery shell straight in to their command center, killing some 5-6 of their commanders, and than they all surendered and his army was no more. Babo got captured aswell, got sentenced for warcrimes and did some jail time. When he got out he resumed politics and recently became mayor of kladusa again. Apparently our country lets convicted war crimminals run in the elections. As right as babo was to be mad, what he did was despicable and they deserve nothing but death for their threachery, im sure even you would agree

There were litteral family members fighting each other, that was a fucked up situation

This part is very interesting.
