Trump Jr is only guilty of doing exactly what the Clinton campaign did when the Ukrainian government provided them with opposition research on Trump, which according to the Clinton campaign wasn't illegal. Politico did a story on that one back in January, no-one on the so-called Left said a word. Yet Donald Trump, Jr. meets with a lawyer who is Russian, not even a lawyer publicly connected to the Kremlin, a lawyer who the Obama administration made special provisions to allow into this country without a visa, a lawyer who was seated right next to Obama's Russian ambassador in a congressional hearing, and everyone has lost their minds. They didn't lose their minds when the Obama administration expanded the NSA's abilities to spy on everyone, they said nothing when he was selling weapons to the Saudis to use in their war against Yemen. But this? This is a betrayal of "America"? Our leaders have been betraying this country since 1913.
In truth, the larger issue that this "scandal" exposed that no-one wants to really deal with is that both "sides" are incompetent and will sell out this country if it means juicy gossip or money is the prize. Look at Joule Unlimited taking $35 million from Rusnano, the bank Putin founded, when John Podesta was on its board. Look at Bill Clinton giving speeches to Russian investment banks like Renaissance Capital. I mean, who was it that pushed the "reset button" with Russia? Who signed the transfer of technologies initiative in 2009 with Russia to expand "areas of cooperation and pursuing joint projects and actions that strengthen strategic stability, international stability, economic well-being and the development of ties between the Russian and American people"? How lucky though for the Democrats like Perez and Pelosi and Schumer that no-one is paying attention to Democratic fuck ups, their terrible, failed policies, their hypocrisy, their lack of a substantive message, because they keep fanning the flames of this scandal.
