I think the vtec kicks in later, 6700rpm instead of 6500rpm or something.
and i have owned the bike since 2000km, it sat in storage for 2 years after the previous owner (guy in his 80's) dropped it at a set of lights and he decided not to ride anymore, had a service as soon as i bought it as well as new battery, and serviced at 5000, 10,000, 15,000 and 20,000km with new oil filter and motul 7100 10w40 each service. (coolant has not been changed since 5000km service)
brand new pp3 rear tyre and front is pp2ct at about 50%

not sure if i want a 1000 or 600 yet to be honest.
thousand is cool for muh straight line speed but with how much twisty riding i do i feel like id have double the fun on a 600.

probably going to end up with an r6 idk.
still need to decide if i want to buy pic for a practice bike first.

Well lads, wat do? I'm hoping this is just a drain plug or the oil filter being loose. Would it be likely that the oil pan gasket would've bit the dust be at 15k?

I am looking for a good getaway bike for under 2k, it needs to handle decently at speed on a motorway and, also to handle itself off roads/trails. 20% Motorway, 40% Secondary roads/twisties/40% Off road.

I have concluded the answer is likely to be a modded DR650. What's your opinion?

Assuming freedombux, KLR650 or DR650. Good luck finding one in reasonable condition for that price depending on market. I paid $1650 for mine and apparently that was a steal.

I'm a bit confused about the Suzuki SV650 and the Gladius.

Are they the same model, only they were called different names depending on the year? Could you say every Gladius is a SV650, but not the other way?

I think I read every SV650 came with a aluminum frame, but the Gladius had a steel frame. Is it true? Is the SV650 better all around, other than the frame?

Finally, is it a good upgrade from a GS500 or will I not notice much of a difference?
>>
>>17767469
The forest worried is something you can look up yourself in less than 4 minutes.

As for the bike itself, it won't be that much of a noticeable upgrade. Consider a triumph or a more powerful sport tourer

Are rentals a bad idea dbt? I'm in NH for a few days but I didn't ride my dual sport, I didn't prep it for long miles. Kinda wanna rent a Harley for a day and ride up into the mountains because my family only wants to go shopping and drive aimlessly.

>>
>>17768751
I did. I've had it for about three years now and it's time for an upgrade. I have the disposable income to pay a couple hundred a month on financing a bigger bike, so I'd like to trade my current smaller bike in (still owe on it) for a larger bike.

Do I just pay the difference or what? I see people do this all the time with cars, I'm just not sure how it works. So many people especially where I live will finance a car, then two or three years later trade it in for the newer model and the cycle never ends. I don't want to be like that, I just want a bigger bike.

What you want to do is possible but it is a pretty irresponsible thing to do. Actually, on a motorcycle you may have trouble rolling your debt into a new loan since there is so little value compared to a car.

Just be patient and pay off your bike first. Then list it for sale. You won't get as much for it trading it in at a dealer.
>>
>>17768789
nope works perfectly, went for a good blast on moday with my mate on her S.
>>
>>17768771

This sounds really dumb, I would just pay off your bike and then sell it on CL. You'll get more money this way, and maybe you'll be able to get a cheap bike on CL too with that money.
>>

Dear god that windscreen. Ermax makes a decent "sport" screen but I cant find one in the US.

All I want is a non-retarded screen to patch up the retarded headlight of the stock '17. Im secretly hoping they recall the bike due to the shit headlights killing people and remake a new cluster.

This but in black.

What about selling my bike through a private party? If I paid my bike off today it'd cost me $4800, but the private party selling price is about $6000, meaning I do not have negative equity on my bike - at least when selling private party. Now, a dealership is a whole other ballgame since they need to in turn sell the bike later so they have to offer less for a trade.

Would it be feasible to sell my bike for $5500-$6000 through a private party, pay off the $4800 loan, and use the extra ~$1000 as a down payment on the bigger bike I want?

Good luck finding a buyer that will hand over the cash without a title in hand.
>>
>>17768914
Wouldn't the bank that has the title give it to the buyer? I mean there's no negative equity in this case, so as soon as the buyer pays for the bike the bank would be paid in full, thus releasing the title. Where's the problem with that?
>>
>>17768923

Howdy. I have BZ licence in Ontario with plenty of knowledge of the road, laws, and whatnot. Do you guys think I could waltz into a DriveTest right now and pass the M1 written with no studying?

also what's the point of putting your bike on the map with no contact info? how am I supposed to find someone to ride with like this

nice shitpost

I would be able to hear this bike with a closed window if my house was an entire block down

I mean probably; but are M1 also includes the G1 stuff as well so be prepped for that.

Also isn't there some transfer system in place for cross-province stuff?

there isn't a significant difference between the weight of modern literbikes and 600's

Yes it is feasible, the thing that will fuck you on this is if the bank you have it financed through is not local. I purchased a financed bike from out of state. The seller had the loan at his local bank. The bank folks knew exactly what to do/paperwork to fill out. I paid off the loan, gave the guy that I was buying it from the extra $300 and the bank had the signed title in my mailbox in 2 days. If you have it financed from some institution that does not have a local to you presence it'll be a motherfucker to get anybody to hand you cash and wait for the title on your word.

I'm a rookie and in the driving school I had an accident. This is my only accident so far. During the emergency braking training, I pushed too hard on front brakes and in a milisecond I dived onto ground head on. My first contact point was my chin. I didn't even have time to protect my face with my hands. And If I had a open face helmet, probably I'd lose my jawbone and half of my teeth...

Newbie here

I got this bike 20 days ago. It's my first bike. I feel fatigue on my clutch hand after riding for ~15 minutes.

Is it normal? Will it go away after I have some kilometers on this bike? Or shall I do some exercise?

Do you have small hands.

Learn to stop in neutral at a light to rest your left hand instead of permanently gripping the clutch in while you wait for the light to turn green.

Most bikes these days don't even use both "eyes" for the low beam and it is very noticeable in corners, even without muh laser accurate led cutoffs that belong in cars
>>
>>17769572
you'll get used to it eventually, if it doesn't you might want to consider changing your lever a little bit. But when i first started riding i was feeling a little fatigue for first couple weeks or so.

you could also try fapping with your clutch hand for max gains.
>>
>>17769571

EBR would be a neat bike but parts might be an issue down the line.

Help me /dbt/.

Do I wanna get a GSXR 750 or a ZX10R?

I was originally attracted to the 750 because of how light it is, but 443 lbs doesn't sound to bad for the zx10 either.

How big of a difference would I notice in handling between the two? Can you still weave pretty quick on a litre bike?

I've only ever road a cbr500, so I don't even know what to expect from having four cylinders.

>>17769821

Too fast for the twists. Racing a liter is all about braking in time, but not too much.

Either would be fine.
If you're buying for street I'd test ride them to find out which is the most comfy
>>
can you restrict a Z900?
>>
Am I being played?

Tried to buy an R1 from a guy, but when I reached out to go look it over, he said he sold it a few days before then. Today is a few days after that, so after some maths, it's been about a week and the craigslist is still up, as well as an offer up(for less money).

Is he playing me? Is there something I'm missing? A week is too damn long to leave a sold ad up, especially after someone has inquired already.
>>
>>17769945

>>
>>17769350
There isn't much of a weight difference, but the power difference can be intimidating if you're not already comfortable on faster bikes. Granted, with modern liter bikes you can set the ecu to a less aggressive power mode, but why buy a 1000 to get 600 power? Most riders won't ever exceed the limits of a 600, especially on the street.
>>
>>17770629
So the 1000 can give you the 600 power at near the same weight, but the 600 can never give you the 1000 power. The 1000 can be grown into and give you more options as far as power is concerned, so get the 600 instead?
