first for why do people care about suits, gloves, boots n shit?
all I care about is not being paralyzed (which is coincidentally pursued in the same way as trying not to die, but idc about that) if I lose a foot idc, if I lose a hand it wouldn't have been safe with a glove on, if I lose skin it grows back
the only things apart from helmet and back protection that I can approve are knee shields because knees are utter crap and if they break for good you're totally fucking fucked

You're retarded. Leather has excellent abrasion resistance. Unless you highside into a deep fryer you'll appreciate your leathers when you hit asphalt, brick or dirt.
>>
>>17610701
armor and sliders are integral parts of all of those, as is shit that restrictions motion. of course, you need a material strong enough to hold all that together and hold your body in a less breakable position, and that material will probably be pretty abrasian resistant because why the fuck not? if you lose skin, it grows back, but it takes a month and you're crying like a bitch every time you take a shower or have to wear clothes during that month.

So just make the track so fucking tight that you can't stay in the top end with a mere six speed gearbox or a motorcycle that has enough top end to never need to slow the engine down, even in ultra tight first gear hairpins that would demand f1-levels of grip to take at higher speeds. Surely, there are such roads to close down and race on, as there are definitely such tracks (usually meant for gokarts).

There's a tool for every job.

I almost bought an fz6 until I rode some big bikes. The instant torque means you can position the bike exactly where you need without any notce = much safer for riding in unpredictable traffic.

Of course the alternative is an sv650 or even a dr650. But good luck overtaking a roadtrain up a hill with a pillion and luggage on one of those.

If you had a tesla version of a bike then you wouldnt need to worry about shifting of torque ever. 100% torque anytime you like.

Any cylinder head and valve seat, is made out of similar materials. (excluding like royal enfields and urals lol)

Revs x heat x cycles = valve seat wear

Cold Lake area. well it's not really just a harley thing in this case. Going down the highway hitting bumps will shake any bike really.

Coming back was a bit worse and more akin to "Typical Harley" as this happened. Previous owner decided the 36 pin PCM connector didn't need a weather seal and of course as soon as the rain got in the bike died. Thought my PCM was toast when I ran diagnostics and wasn't getting a response from the PCM. That and when the previous owner installed an auxillary charging port on the handlebars they must have not clipped the wiring harness back into the frame as there was some friction which removed sheathing from the wiring harness for the O2 sensors.

Have it vapor honed instead and skip the polishing. Unless you want a mirror finish. Plug exhaust/intake, stay away from seals and you'll be fine.

The other option if you're a cheap cunt like me is die grinder and brass brushes.

Here's what vapor honing does. Also called vapor blasting... it's bead blasting but using heated or unheated solvent as a carrier in a slurry. Leaves a beaut of a finish with barely any removal of material. I get my carbs vapor honed.

Your next argument is to agree with my point that the 4's tend to be optimized? Good job thanks.
>And Honda did make a twin back in the 1000cc days fyi. They did so when their main focus was to win the championship. Really makes you think.

Yes of course Honda did made twins. Who said otherwise? Are you arguing with yourself? Do they run them now? What about the other japs? Or even the other euro bikes? So they decided to stick to the 4 cylinders right? Exactly like what I said right? Right. Look at the whole stk1000 top 10....how many are not 4 cylinders? 1 out of 10. And in WSBK? 3 out of 10. So the 4 cylinders are hugely represented by those who race while the twins are not.

Optional hobby vehicle vs. mandatory personal transport, dumbass. Bikes aren't even cheaper to own unless you want to kill yourself on a neglected piece of shit.

Car safety regs only exist because of all the otherwise uninterested people who HAVE to use them sooner or later. Compare to bike helmet laws, which exist because it cost the county money to scrape up your corpse, but it costs you money to have your mangled body and intact head transported to the ICU.

opening the throttle for a moment.

you clutch, downshift and then open the throttle about as much as needed to match the revs the engine will have when you release the clutch.

afterwards you can close the throttle to engine brake or you can keep it open to use the power of higher rev-range for tight corners or passing cars.

Ride at speed in given gear. For example let's say 45mph in 4th gear. Now to rev match you want to rev the motor to be at whatever rpm the motor will be in if you downshift to whatever gear you want to be in. For example if you wanted to be in 3rd gear at that same speed you know that the engine is going to be spinning faster because of the lower gear. You need to know what the rpm difference is so if you know that the engine is going to spin 2000rpms higher to maintain that same speed in 3rd instead of 4th when you pull in the clutch and downshift to 3rd you want to blip the throttle that additional 2000rpms then let the clutch back out. You just rev matched, get used to walking down the gears and rev match along the way. then get used to rev matching multiple gears until you can rev match from 6th to 1st gear.

Now learn how to shift with no clutch.

Overall length is short, nor is it wide. Wheelbase is short. Wheel size is small. Windshield/wind protection is tiny. Not hating but yes it's a tiny bike even compared to other bikes with the same displacement.

just chug the throttle a bit as you let out of the clutch to downshift. Don't worry about being exact. Just being close helps remove the jolt, and getting it just right will come naturally with time.

Yeah, roomy ergos though. It's not like a supersport where you're crouched and higher up on it. Still, the ninja 250 and 500 are small and you can feel it compared to bigger commuter bikes like FZs ahd hornets. It's not very comfortable for long days or relaxed riding. My bicycle is comfier.

>never meant to go racing

The desmo was a high tune V4 powerplant superbike. It was chosen for it's directly relate-able characteristics. Yes by nature of it's design it is a street legal racing bike, just like the R1, GSXR 1000, ZX-10R, CBR1000RR, S1000RR, RSV4, etc. Show me a better duc to compare that has 4 cylinders. To say a racing bike wasn't designed to go racing is lew lad. It is the most easily compared to the off the showroom competition because of comparable street legal nature, cc size, and number of cylinders. And hey it was (wait for it) relatively underpowered and relatively overpriced. Because Ducati. Just like I said. Your argument is that it isn't a race bike which it is and wasn't meant to go racing. At best you agree that this example is indeed yet again a boutique bike. Which I said.

>You were the one who brought up street racing, not me.

Yes I brought up professional and non-professional racing in varying flavors. In those varying flavors Ducati is not represented AT ALL or very minimally represented. Please show me how this is in any way not true. Why would it not count because you said so? kek Calling non-professional/street racers faggots or whatever isn't going to cut it. Besides, I brought up 9/10ths, LSR, 1/8th, 1/4 as well. Why not address their absence in these fields as well?

but ducs can't hang.

>They're not meant for it.

Thanks for openly agreeing that Ducatis can't hang. They literally can't compete. I know it. You know it.

>No. You just can't accept the difference between engines, being dismissive instead.

Not dismissive, stating facts. The 999 twins would get raped by the 999 4 cylinders. Period. End of.

Your pic goes back to a couple things already addressed previously...one of which is the difference between professional race series with their multiple variables besides the bikes themselves and non-professional/street applications, where the huge overwhelming majority of us use the bikes.

Now I live in DFW and commute up I-35 from Fort Worth to Denton and back in commuter traffic. I have close calls like once a month.
