Kickstart only, but he's asking for $1.5k and it's got 15k on the odo.

How well does the tank stay in without being bolted to the front fairing? It seems like it could pop out so the rubber supports would vanish.

CB300F vs CB500F bro here... Did a little research on the used stuff around here in MN after some of the responses (had really only been looking at new). Found what seems like a good deal on a 2015 CB300F (7k miles, $3200). The concern is that it shows the title as having a lien. Any MN/US fellas that know much about buying a bike with a lien?

Finally got a bike after 6 months left with only my car (fuck being unemployed, yay being re employed)
She's an angry bitch.
She's my first liter bike.

I only had it for a week, slowly getting used to it.

Throttle is kinda hard to turn, I would like to change it but without breaking them when I take them off. It's Rizoshit, worth a fair 50€ to morons who like italian bike parts.

Otherwise:

>No Gear indicator.
I ordered one. Kinda sad I had to fork out money for such a basic feature nowadays.

>No Db killer in the Akra.
She's just too fucking loud to use without it. she growls so deep it just goes "brrrrroooooooooooooooooooooooooo" into my head, not funny to commute everyday in my town and I can't go high in RPM so the "brrrooooooooo" becomes a high pitched howl that doesn't give me a headdache.

There again, had to order one.

Other than that, I'm having fun and I guess I won't be bored before a while.

That said, that might be my last liter bike because it's absurd on the road. Hitting 140Kmh in first gear kinda kills the fun.

A lot of riders unnecessarily rev their engines either as a form of peacocking or intimidation. I know that noise is a common reason people choose to ride sportbikes, cruisers, or cafe racers in the first place. However, as manufacturers transition to electric motors due to emissions requirements or market competition, what will happen to the riding community? Will it get better?

>>17215149
Sure I can ride without it, I'm not an amerilard without a training but ... It's just quality of life. When I'm commuting at rather low speed, sometimes I don't change gear for a while and suddenly forget if I'm in 1st or 2nd.
Last time I cruised for a while in 4th and I was so fucking sure I was in 3.

I mean, it's not biggie to not have one, but I kinda like to have the info.

>>17215147
I fucking hate this shit when my friends are being morons. That's one of the reasons I don't ride with a huge "pack" often. It turns pretty quick in a macho shitfest with everyone revving like tards.

I guess some people are going to be quick to sale "sound boxes" that make your gay-lectric ride sound like old bikes.

To be honest I think that you will "waste pleasure".

I'd take one day for go and make the back trip the next day.

I think you might enjoy the 6 first hours. But last couple of hours are going to be a hassle.
I mean, it's even kinda dangerous to ride a bike while exhausted.

I'd sleep between the two ways. For enjoyment of the ride and safety.

Yes.
In the US, it is illegal for a commercial vehicle driver to drive more than 11 hours in a day, or more than 8 hours with a 1 hour rest period. That is in a comfy long haul truck. Training here says you take a half-hour break every two-hours on the bike.

My friends still living with their parents in their mid 20's are full of cash for bikes and shit.
They work, they have GFs etc... But they stay with momma & poppa so they can avoid paying rent and stack loads of cash.

I know it drives me crazy to live with my family because ... I don't know I'm not a kid anymore, but sometimes they make me kinda jealous of their money.

I live on a plot, think farm without animals, there are many houses here. All belong to my father and he rents them out to family because SA Economy is shit for house buying. I have my own house.

I managed to get by. Since my house is so energy efficient, my 450wt PC is the hungriest thing, and we have a bore hole, life is cheapish. Still I bought everything that went into my house.

I know it feels bad to stay at home, feels like you are freeloading. But is very hard to afford houses these days or the pennies young people earn. I had my cousin staying with me for some months, now he is eating shit trying to pay for a flat with his other cousin. Two salaries are struggling to pay for a home.

Be honest with your self or what you can afford. Pay rent, if you are made to, on time. Don`t act like a shit. Then I doubt your family will hate you for hanging around.

I have one (with DCT), it's absolutely outstanding. Handles far better than a bike with over a foot of ground clearance has any business doing, the engine has plenty of grunt (though it runs out beyond 100mph) and sounds unusually good for a modern stock Honda exhaust. It's comfortable enough to ride all day and the narrow tank really helps with standing up on the pegs.

Until this year, my only criticism would have been the OEM heated grips, they fixed them but there's still no compelling reason to spend 3x more than equally good Oxfords. The OEM cases are like plastic lunch boxes but I went with H&B (not the AT specific frameless boxes, I went with a full pannier frame and Xplorer boxes).

Nah dude, it's my not liking my family in a day to day context.

Don't get me wrong, I love them. I just love to hang around butt naked, don't wash the dishes if I don't want to, eat at whatever hour I want, blast music if I want etc etc... Everything that makes life, life.

They aren't even hardcore ballbusters. It's just that when you live in a community you have to respect other people feelings, sleeping schedules etc... And I can't have that. I'm a fucking grown up man, I don't wanna have to bend myself into a mold even when i'm in my fucking house.
You already have to do that 5 days a week at work. Fuck it I ain't going back.

But yeah, on the other hand you get muuuuuch more cash for shit like cars bikes etc... Still not worth it. I envy them only very briefly sometimes. It doesn't eat me like it ate me to have to follow the rules of other people when I was like 18-19 and still at home.

When we see another person still enjoying it, still out there riding and facing the danger and the joys of it we wave to say, "Hey, check this out! This is awesome, huh?"

Is it recomendable to get a lawyer to sort out my motorcycle crash? I've never had an accident. The other driver was at fault and I don't know what to do next, I had to go to the hospital and got a bunch of tests done and I'm just bruised up but didn't break anything. Problem is I didn't go to ER when the cops asked because I wasn't feeling any pain but a couple hours later my whole body was hurting like a bitch so I went on my own. Also, will the insurance pay for the mods on the bike or should I remove them and put the stock ones? The exhaust still looks good and I don't wanna lose $450. I'd appreaciate it if someone could answer this questions for me, thank you.

Also I haven't called my insurance yet just in case I fuck up something, should I let the lawyer handle everything or call the insurance myself?

Just don't fake injuries, you didn't went to the doc whene police told you to.
The mods shouldn't be there, since you signed a contract that probably said the bike was stock, otherwise they will have given a list to write them down.
You don't need a lawyer if you have the other vehicle data and it didn't feld the scene, nobody died or even went to the ER, the insurance folks take care of almost everything.
You should have called the insurance company as soon as you can, so you can get the check as soon as you can.

it probably connects to your crankcase. those usually vent into the airbox which would also explain oil in it
>>
>>17216600
That looks like a drain hose. It should lead to the ground.
I could be wrong, since it also looks like the other line that comes from the tank, the one that prevents overflow.
You should have one hose out of the air box, pointing to the ground, and another from the tank also pointing to the ground.

ive posted this before, and im really not crazy impressed with the answers i've gotten with it, so i figured ill ask at night instead of morning
im thinking about getting a versys 650 for mostly city work, back road twisties, and the occasional hour or two trip by freeway, but now and then doing rides from 400-1400 miles here and there (an annual 460 and back, and an annual 600 and back, and once whenever i can justify it 1400 and back) and im wondering if the versys will be comfortable at 65-85 mph for hours on end loaded down with luggage?
note, i wont have a passenger with any of this, and i dont plan on taking passengers on long rides, just quickies around town here and there

Does the bike balance itself or there is a lot of work involved to keep it steady on the road?

I found a facility to do training at and should be getting some experience this year

How common are repairs on bikes and why do so many bikes out there have low miles?

Would you recommend a new bike to everyone or buying something from the 90s or even 80s is fun enough?

don't mind that person. i've been through the process too and my offense got knocked down to a traffic infraction instead of a misdemeanor.

it's an incredibly easy charge to get against yourself. I made a pretty poor decision that night, and in all seriousness, i felt fine. I was well enough to operate a stick shift. But i made the decision and dealt with the consequences. luckily nobody was hurt.

there are worse offenses out there man.
