I don't think you understand how this works. When a job is being filled, there's three stacks resumes go into. There's the first stack, those that are immediately disqualified (grammar or spelling errors, lack of any experience, even if it's just fluff, mentions an unsavory past time, has an email like [email protected]). Then there is the second stack of people that are completely qualified. The third stack is equally similar people, they could be the same, but they have a reference from someone that influences the decision or carries weight with the individual reviewing said documents.

I've got aptitude in several skillsets. I can understand most mechanical and how programs work, I am great at talking to people, and I'm pretty positive outside of 4chodes.

Whether that makes you cry, "not fair he's cheating the game." Is irrelevant. All that matters is if you can communicate and can deliver.

Nope, hurts to be wrong doesn't it?

Was going the speed limit, held the bike up, it was his fault. I hit his right blinker which hit my left side and damaged it.

Here in Australia we ride on the left side, hence why i was in the position so he can see me.
>>
>>16651479
the central part of your argument is contingent on an element of trust in other drivers, which you should never be giving. my point is that it doesn't matter if you did everything right if you're involved in an accident. YOU should have done more to prevent that, and that idealistic, naive attitude of "he was wrong, i was right" gets motorcyclists killed.
>>
>>16651483

>>
>>16651450
>backwards day in australia

>>
>>16651491
actually your country should do more to keep idiots off the road, and idiots are at fault for failing to behave properly in traffic. in no case should any road user have to expect another to be an idiot, because all dangerous and stupid behaviours are strictly illegal and punishable to the fullest extent of the law.

do you also walk around with two revolvers and a belt of bullets because you can't trust other people not to fucking kill you?
>>
>>16651497
Insurance companies and police look towards who caused the accident. Riding along and not following someone at your perfection of a distance does not equal the rider at fault.

It has been already said;
No blinker
Sudden braking (for no reason)

>>
>>16651507
That crazy fault finding scheme sounds like it would be unfair to women and minorities. Why is your country so racist?
>>
>>16651503
no, because my chances of getting murdered as a white male are infinitesimal compared to the much greater risk of daily driving a motorcycle in a major urban center. i agree entirely that we should do more to get people who shouldn't be driving off of the roads, but that doesn't change the fact that they are still going to be on the roads. when you live in a little micro-paradise you don't run into the problems of scale that you do when legislating for a country as enormous as america.
>>16651507
like i said though, fault doesn't matter. if you had been more careful -- even though the accident wasn't explicitly your fault -- you wouldn't have gotten into an accident in the first place.
>>
>>16651507
Post your bike then, to confirm your low effort b8

>>
>>16651523
i don't know how many other ways i can put this. say you get hit by an 18 wheeler who blew a red light and you didn't look both ways before taking off even though you had a green. in this case, does it matter whose fault it was when you're dead?

>>
>>16651528
Nothing you can say will get you out of the stupidity you have shown.

>fault doesn't matter.

Yes, fault doesn't matter. Lets pull out in front of a motorcycle as he is riding along in a 100km/h zone. In the end we wouldn't be to blame, it's his fault for not knowing of the dangers, he should have also been going a bit slower just to be cautious.
>>
>>16651533
on the contrary, it seems like nothing i say will be able to get through to you.
>>
>>16651443

I'll test drive a liter bike come spring, but honestly part of me just wants those ridiculously high revs and shifting at 16k. I'll figure it out when I ride them I spose.
>>
>>16651528
Does it matter?

Yes, because then the dumb fuck behind the 18 wheeler can go to jail for manslaughter, because he was breaking several laws and the person he killed just didn't look carefully enough for people doing things they shouldn't be doing and should be thoroughly trained to never, ever, ever do on pain of financial ruin and years in the slammer

>>16651536

>>
>>16651447

>>
>>16651536
my mentality as a motorcyclist is not looking for people to cast blame on for being retards. i expect everyone on the road to be an idiot and put the onus on myself not to give them the opportunity to be retards. if i fail to drive defensively enough and i get fucked up, obviously i'm going to do what i can to go after him legally, but i would prefer not to be in that circumstance in the first place. i believe this is the single most effective philosophy in staying alive on a motorcycle.
>>
>>16651547
the irony is that you think i'm stupid because you don't understand what i'm saying.
>>
>>16651550

>>16651555
I understand well, you are just very stupid and cant structure your words properly. Stop trying to sound smart. Not all rear ends are fault of the driver behind.

It's an easy win, not using blinkers to turn? sudden braking? clearly not head-checking?

Interdasting.
>>
>>16651547
like the 3 second rule?
it exists in most 1st world countires, 3 seconds behind any car, 1 second to recognise the car in front is braking, 1 second to start applying brakes, 1 second to lose excess speed as the car in front will already be going slower.

If your country does not have laws that enforce this then your country is run by retards.
>>
>>16651547
The funny thing is the brakes on your bike are probably 10 times better than the brakes on the average car. Even on shit bikes with single piston/single front caliper setups. Motorcycle brakes are officially "okay", but only for sportbikes. I think the most you can get is a little over 120 feet for a 60-0 on a 600, and it only gets worse with heavier liters (let's pretend things like sport tourers don't exist. because if they ever had to brake, they wouldn't)

i'm not saying fault doesn't matter in a macro sense. if it actually, really needs to be said, people obviously need to be held accountable for their actions. my only point is in that instant when you find yourself sliding across the ground into a telephone pole or under the wheels of an 18 wheeler, it doesn't matter for shit whose fault it was. you might have done everything right but you're still sliding across the ground about to get fucked up. you might be happy with the idea of resting assured that you followed the laws to the T while your nurse is changing your colostomy bag but i'd personally rather leave fault and expectations of lawfulness out of the equation and take it upon myself to assume the burden of every ounce of accountability i can wring out of the road. keeps me safer that way.

>Only in America do rear end laws exist
Nope

The one hitting someone in the back is 99.9% of the time guilty.
We have the 2 second rule, meaning you have to be 2 seconds behind the person in front of you.
Also stopping in the road for an exit is fine and even during driving/riding lessons the instructor will say don't worry about the people behind you. They have their responsibility to have enough distance.
This dude was stupid enough to follow too closely, giving him not enough time to brake. He's 100% at fault even if that guy didn't use blinkers.
>>
>>16651646
I don't understand how in modern cars, how 60 to zero matters. At this point your braking distance is pretty much up to the amount of grip your tires can geberate

seems like too much distance.
according to my bad math it takes less than 20 meters to get to 10kmh in this webm and that is on a wet road riding a bike that weighs 200kg.

>Americans seriously think it's okay to STOP for simple turns
>Americans think other people should follow very far behind to allow for others not knowing how to drive
>Americans pretend high density traffic doesn't exist, like it's the 1800s and the top speed across the nation is 45mph by train

Why does your country hate knowing how to actually fucking drive?

jesus christ, no wonder your roads are the deadliest in the entire developed world

I'm not American. Even stated that in my post.
My country has one of the safest roads in the world.

If you follow someone so closely that you can't even brake in time, you are at fault. Especially with exits, because you should know not everybody uses blinkers.
>>
>>16651708
>Ha, it's your fault because you didn't expect me to do something wrong
>officer, he hit me when I broke the law! arrest him!

Why are you so dumb?

what lol?
if you tail gate someone, then run up their arse it is your own fucking fault for tail gating them.
the 2-3 second rule exists for a reason, is your entire country really this fucking dumb?

It's a real shame these are so horribly unreliable
>>
>>16651758
Not really, a ktm 500 makes nearly the same power, weighs a hell of a lot less and handles a hell of a lot better without the reliability problems
>inb4 hurr 2003 ktm's snapped triple clamps so all are unreliable
Japanese bikes all snap below the fuel tank, frames cost more than triple clamps.
>>
>>16651758
one year has a bad head gasket. fix it and its the same as the rest. reliable if you do the very frequent mait.

Come on now, that's not true. None of my japanese bikes have snapped below the fuel tank. One did break on the rear subframe though, can't blame it after all the crashing I do

Considering getting a 2006 ninja 250 for $1000 to use as a more efficient college commuter and something to fuck around with. Has only 5000 miles but it has, as the owner puts it, "A slight carb leak". Would that be too difficult or expensive to fix? Doesn't seem like it but I've never messed with carbs before, thought this bike could prove to be a learning experience, but don't want to get in over my head.
>>
>>16651807
Forgot to mention I have a 600rr already, so the "lack of power" could be remedied by me just riding the it instead of the ninja when I'm not commuting.

>>16651806

ive been riding for about 20 years and ive never met anyone who has broken a jap bike frame outside of fucking a subframe up a bit

>dropping a bike on a wedge from 20+ feet up is something that should be designed into the frames integrity while maintaining a light agile bike.
you know cars get fucked up pretty bad when your jump them or hit stuff with them. clearly theyre made like shit too
>>
>>16651901
i was just dispelling the myth of KTM's being unreliable, they were about a decade ago, now they are one of the most reliable on the market though.
their frames included, it simply is not possible to make a frame out of alloy that is as strong as steel, that is why a ktm will snap triple clamps where a Japanese bike would have snapped below the fuel tank, the triple clamps are also made out of steel you see and steel > alloy as previously stated.

the original discussion was a ktm 500 exc being better than a sxv550 if you want to try stepping in on that one.
>>
>>16651972
so you realise that the alloy frames were less desirable in some areas because theyre too stout?
somehow i doubt ktm is using a steel triple either
>>
>>16651993
All bikes use a steel triple, alloy does not work for a triple clamp because it has no give.
