That last part is kinda because almost nobody runs the C-spec, so even if three people do in the same timeslot they're basically guaranteed to be together in split 1.

AC, rF2, and rF based ones.
Grip under optimum conditions is incredibly sticky, I've never driven something like that irl.
Damage to components is a bit too simplified, but I guess it's ok since it's not about trashing the car.
Tires might behave weirdly in AC, SS might overheat in less than a lap and are (or used to be) useless, M last forever and hold temp well without any important deg, never used hards.
rF/2 has potential in the engine, but in the end it comes down to how well made the mod is, many times the momentum is that of a brick on wheels, instead of proper balance. Other mods are great and I feel they represent well what I know.

Sometimes TC and Stabilization is too optimal since I think it's generalized for all cars, not per factory settings of each car, I think, don't quote me on anything I've written so far. Ideally you turn them off to avoid that.

Breaks are way too good in AC, I don't know if they finally added dynamic parameters to it or if they are still static values.

It's just my experience. Try anything that isn't GT3s and there are crashes on every corner, if the server says TC and ABS are not allowed there is a guaranteed first corner pile-up. There are a few cars that seem to attract shitters, but mentioning them triggers memeposters.

If you have even the slightest requirements for something that reflects realism in handling, just stay away. And I don't mean hurr sims need to model tireflex durr, I mean even the nimbles most well tuned car in the game handles like a freight train, and you can only get access to things by driving through the cringy story mode.

The car customization is wonderful though, and especially the powerful livery editor makes it very good fun to make your own cars, but for the love of god the handling will make you want to stab yourself, it really is genuinely awful.

My advice: Buy access to the Vault for a month and try it out instead, you won't need more than a month before it gets stale anyway

Same, DP1-3 are good because of rooster and NORD. And the PP came out with a fairly good price from the start and the cars are oh so much fun. The triple pack because it's dirt cheap but it's a waste imo (no series cars, no track... why not make it free content?), wapanese pack is fun but I wanted a track with it too, and the Red Pack is just not very exciting.
I mean, it could have been exciting because it could mean F1 racing series... but the GP2 was there from the start and I haven't seen much action with it online. People will always lean towards the GT series it seems.

I think people don't really have the reaction times and focus for F1, and they think because they're driving gods with assists in the codies F1 games it translates to simulators. That's a server setting, that allows people to join during a session. desu I can't remember if we actually do pre-booking or not. If people want to run their custom skins I could have them offer their steam GUIDs and pre-book their skin in pickup mode whereas everyone else can just join with a random skin.

You don't even need to load the skins onto the server. People pick their skins before booking and that's it (This is why skins will show up white if you don't have it.) Pre-booking would only be used if we used Pick-Up mode.

Screens were too close to the edge of the desk to fit that huge angled back. As it happens while I was putting everything together they actually slid like 1/2" forward from where they were supposed to be to be able to fit the wheel base so with that fixed I can just barely get the shifter on there far enough to stay on. (it's still not pressed against the edge)

Look into the control options for the steering lock.

Alternatively, keep the two middle red buttons pressed from the shifter and press the A B X Y buttons. They will give you some different degrees. A is 900.
