Why are people not convicted when bikers get killed over road rage? You always see people cutting off bikers like they have some personal vendetta against them which sometimes even leads to death. And they never get in trouble.

I was riding with a friend yesterday. My friend was cruising and he pulled up between 2 cars at a stop light which is legal here. As the light turned green the car to the right purposely turned left into him trying to cut him off and ran over him. Ended up with a broken leg and totaled bike. Guy got a ticket for reckless driving and that was it. Fuck that bullshit. He purposefully cut him off and intended harm.

whycome MX bikes have 19 inch rear wheel while enduros have 18 inch rear wheel?

Would the bigger wheel be handy for going over bumps on the enduro too?
>>
>>16284712
I think the enduros use a taller profile tire. So the outer diameter ends up being the same but the tire can do more of the suspension work.

MX bikes probably use the larger rim so they end up being slightly lighter.
>>
This is going to sound silly but

>No bike license yet
>Plus I want to bring someone more knowledgeable
>Who should I bring

>My old man
Relationship has been a bit iffy over the years but he used to ride a bunch and knows his shit about bikes etc still rides occasionally
Still rides occasionally but may not be the best at troubleshooting and figuring out what the bike may need

Or
>Friend of mine
Same age as my old.man
Used to ride a bunch
Still rides occasionally
Haven't talked to him.in a while
Probably knows a bit more on the mechanical aspects about bikes and what it would need etc

On the downside he's hard to get to commit to anything and tends to be very opertunistic about everything thinks everything can be an easy fix
Also may help me fix it up etc
>>
>>16284716
less unsprung mass on the drive wheel, same reason they use aluminum sprockets.

Also on the MX track you don't need the protection against pinch flats that a taller tire offers

Dank. Niggas can call it a beginners bike all they want but to me it's just a comfy baiku that has okayish power and handling. It is pretty pigfat tho.

I'm going to put some woodcraft clip ons on it with 1" risers to help make it more responsive to steering input.

If you were to actually sit on that bike you would be sitting with feet flat on the ground because the suspension would compress.......

how is 60 hp even useful on the trails? Torque is a much more realistic metric if we are talking woods/single track riding. Anyway I haven't ridden the new speedie so I can't say for sure but I have ridden a tuono and from the waist down you'd swear you're on an rsv4, so if the speedie is a more comfortable and relaxed ride (and I'm sure that goes for engine character too) then I can see them being worth it for people.

Keep in mind most motorcycle reviewers are failed racers and serial adrenaline junkies who don't necessarily represent the average buyer. Most tuono riders I've seen don't go crazy on them.

>>
>>16285835
Pretty much but even the 480 has good maintenance intervals, the basic thing about the betas to know is they have double the oil capacity of say an MX bike so you simply do not have to change it as often.

Honestly even a drz is just as bad maintenance wise as almost every mx bike, the only difference is the drz has a larger oil capacity so can be left longer between changes, both bikes still use just as much oil as each other though.

The other maintenance costs come from lighter internal engine parts that wear out faster.
>>
>>16285849
Here is one i like to use to compare maintenance costs, my road bike needs new oil every 5000km but it needs 3.8 litres of oil, if i were riding my 450exc-r on the road it would need its oil changed every 2000km only it holds less than a litre of oil, if i were to use the same amount of oil i would actually get further riding the 450exc-r than i would my road bike, the trade off is it would take 3 oil changes to get that extra 1000km.
>>
>>16285855
what about things like valve clearance checks and engine rebuilds though. There is no doubt that you have to work on a dirtbike (especially a performance one) more than a road bike

I meant a tire you're not going to want to be bringing to the track. It's a good tire as I've said but not the greatest sport riding tire out there.
>>
>>16286267
have you taken them on track yet?
>>
>>16286278
I wish. It's too expensive right now

because I can feel their limitations compared to other pure sport tires

that what I though that will happend in american in this sitation.
sometimes you have some fucked up people. also your friend always should be in front even if it mean being after the stopping line.
I love america but things like this make me dislike.
people there are so alienated.

Should I get myself a Yamaha XSR700 or Kawaksai W800?
>>
>>16286808
the xsr is definitely sportier
>>
>>16286811
W800 looks cooler though.

Just wondering which would be better as an all round commuter with long distance travel sometimes.

>>16286817
keep in mind I haven't ridden a W800 yet, but I think it would be a tad more comfortable on long ranges because of its seat. But again, the W800 "only" has 48 hp/217 kgs (and only 5 gears), while the xsr700 has 75hp/186 kg with 6 gears

I also think the Yamaha looks quite a bit better, but if you're into that Bonneville look, go for it
>>
>>16286836
the XSR's weird radiator thing just kills the looks.
>>
>>16286876
that's the shit that is Euro 4/5, it kills so many cool bikes
>>
>>16286888
the fuel tank as well just looks retarded, why put on a retro seat and then put that edgy fuel tank design on with it?
>>
>>16286555

Bring Dad and an inspection checklist and a bright flashlight or headlamp.

Observe the engine starting from COLD to know more about engine condition.

Ask Dad for a briefing beforehand on what to look at and why. Have a conversation. He'll die soon enough and now might be the time to work on a relationship.

Whats the best way to go about selling a bike?

Put it up on gumtree/craigslist/ebay/autotrader etc or find a dealer?
>>
I just learnt that americucks have to pay extra to allow wifi tethering on mobile phone. Surely the smart ones know to root a sevice and flash a non gimped rom.
>>
>>16286986
If you sell to a dealer at least get a wristy.
>>
>>16285533
Visit Indian forums. Polaris make better engines than Harley but there is very little aftermarket so far if that matters. This is not a cruiser forum. This is a fun shitpost forum and if you haven't found serious forums you aren't fucking looking.

>everyone knows soft bags are superior when going off road.

Depends on use case. Received wisdom is often inaccurate. I'd run poly Hardigg/Pelican boxes in preference to soft luggage or metal panniers because tough and available in many useful sizes new or surplus.

>Also tight.

Briefly....
>>
>>16286986
Trader. Selling shit by dealer consignment means they get a chunk of the profit.

I came here hoping I can get help with something. What would a first bike recommendation be I simply want one to commute to work and home. I currenltly drive a Sandero Sport from Renault but it is a bit heavy on the gas. I just want cheap transportation. Also it wold have to be one I can find in Mexico preferenlty budget friendly I don't need to drive long just around 24 km daily
>>
>>16287599
Taco 125cc scooter.
>>
>>16287599
Sandero RS is hard on gas?

Anyway just stay away from Mexican assembled Chink bikes (Italika, Kurazai, etc.). Curry bikes and jap bikes are better and not that much expensive.

If you are near the border, American bikes are easier to import than cars. This is neat since the big four only seem to offer cheap work bikes and too expensive mid tier bikes with little in between.
