Mileage can vary, I've gotten it up to 34km/L when I really rode her tamely.

But of course I like revving her a bit so a more lively riding style yields around 25km/L

I'd be fine if I had a sidecar to get through winter. I'd bulk up on layers, have sidecar to store gear in, and then I wouldn't have to worry as much with shitty road conditions.
I'm going to save up for a shitbox though. I usually bicycle commute in the winter but I either dress light and freeze or dress heavier and sweat and lose range of motion.

I've put about 50 miles on it so far in a matter of a few hours of pretty shitty commute-esque riding.


Current thoughts;
I wish the seat didn't slide me forwards, crushes my balls a bit, will take getting used to
I wish the seat was a little softer
Great, manageable pull throughout the entire RPM range in just about any gear, very smooth throttle response.
Feels quite agile, corners easily and smoothly and making adjustments mid corner is easy and confidence inspiring
Sounds great for a stock exhaust, growls at low RPMS and quietly purrs at idle. One loud pop per deceleration is quite fun.
Looks and feels great, slim between the legs and allows you to grip nicely up on the tank
Handlebars are at such a comfortable height I nearly forgot to mention it
Brakes are confidence inspiring but nothing too special, haven't done any emergency braking yet
I miss having an analog tacho.


This is coming from spending 10 months putting 5500 miles on a KLR riding every day in all weather. I'm also 5'9" so riding a bike that actually fits me is a fucking dream.

I am older (51) and plan on commuting 10Km to work and back, and weekend getaways. I ended up with a Honda CB300FA, new, since it was on big sale and older, used ones were barely any less.

I'm commited to cautious, conservative riding, and ATGATT. I live in a 'normal' urban environment (Melbourne Aus), where lane filtering is legal. I have no friends who ride.

There very well could be. For example, a ZX-6R's cat is located around here, in pic related.
Putting on a slip-on does not de-cat your bike. The cat will be somewhere before the slip-on. Ideally, you'll swap all the piping from the headers to the exhaust tip (which will mean no cat), but that's not required. Make sure you re-tune your bike after you de-cat, but that will remove your flame-spitting features.
