Yo babby here looking to buy a bike. I just moved to Canada from Aus and while I know a few things about bikes from my buddies who ride at home, I want some tips specific to Canada. I want to get my licence while here because it's cheaper, but I don't know how much the other general costs will be.

So questions: how much should I be looking to budget for riding costs over the year?
Should I get insurance? (student living in a small university town, will mostly be riding around under 15km)
When is a good time to buy? Cheper before winter?
How many months in a year will I be able to ride and any other winter tips?
And lastly, I was always planning on getting a 250 or 300 sport bike at home, but will I be better off with a dual-sport here and if so any recs?
